NARRATOR: At the extreme ends of the planet

lie vast, frozen landscapes

that remain largely unexplored.

DAVID CHILDRESS: You have huge areas that are uninhabited.

All kinds of things can be happening there.

NARRATOR: These harsh environments play host

to an array of puzzling anomalies.

There've been a number of reports

of pyramids being found on Antarctica.

NARRATOR: And many who have braved the arctic regions

have reported extraordinary encounters with UFOs.

THEO CHESLEY: I've seen a lot of things.

And what I saw was just not anything ordinary at all.

NARRATOR: Could it be that the coldest places on Earth are hotspots

for extraterrestrial visitation?

BILL BIRNES: There is more about the Poles

that is being covered up than we think.

There are entire bases down there,

entire civilizations.

NARRATOR: There is a doorway

in the universe.

Beyond it is the promise of truth.

It demands we question everything

we have ever been taught.

The evidence is all around us.

The future is right before our eyes.

We are not alone.

We have never been alone.

NARRATOR: Stretching over five million square miles

across the southernmost reaches of the Earth

lies the coldest and most isolated continent

in the world--

Antarctica.

Because of its hostile climate,

including average daily temperatures

of -49 degrees Fahrenheit

and wind speeds of over 200 miles per hour,

Antarctica remains largely untouched by mankind.

According to historical records,

modern man did not even set foot on the continent

until 1853,

when ship captain Mercator Cooper landed

on what is now known

as the Oates Coast of Victoria Land.

Today, anywhere from 1,000 to 5,000 people reside

at the research stations

scattered across the continent,

braving the extreme conditions in hopes

of learning more about this mysterious landscape.

ANDREW COLLINS: The thing about Antarctica

is that as much as 98% of it is covered in ice.

And just occasionally there are little areas that stick out.

Mountaintops, ridges, peaks.

JONATHAN YOUNG: Antarctica is the least explored of the continents.

Even the North Pole,

which is just ice, has been explored more.

It is a mystery.

And it's right here on the Earth.

It's perhaps the last, big,

unexplored part of our home planet.

CHILDRESS: Antarctica is a vast frozen world

and we know very little about it.

And, in fact, the ice in Antarctica

is up to three miles thick in certain places.

And what's beneath the ice

is still largely a mystery to scientists.

GIORGIO TSOUKALOS: You just have to imagine this--

the Sears tower is a little less

under a third of a mile tall.

So you have to imagine that you can stack

nine Sears towers on top of each other

and they would still not peek out from that ice sheet.

NARRATOR: Most geologists believe

Antarctica has been completely frozen

and uninhabited for over 12 million years.

But in 2012, new photographs revealed

formations in the landscape that challenge this notion.

Mysterious pyramid structures emerging

from the now melting ice.

Recently, there have been a number of reports

of pyramids being found on Antarctica.

There are various photographs that show what appear to be

perfect four-sided pyramids,

very similar in design to those at Giza,

Egypt and perhaps other places around the world.

NARRATOR: While the photos were explained away

by mainstream scientists

as nothing more than natural land formations,

satellite imagery analysts like Joseph White

are not entirely convinced.

In March of 2013,

he uncovered what he believes

is evidence of yet another pyramid

located just south of Antarctica's remote

Shackleton Mountain Range.

JOSEPH WHITE: I initially found the structure

whilst looking on Google Earth. I was in fact looking at some

of the very strange blank spots you get in Antarctica

when I stumbled upon this very large square structure

which seems to be some kind of building

or perhaps even a pyramid

but certainly very large and very square.

It actually lines up perfectly with the coordinates

of the compass-- north, south, east and west,

and this dictates to me that it's probably

an intelligent structure, because uh...

random structures, like mountains,

are not aligned to the compass.

And another way we know that a structure is not

naturally occurring is generally to look for symmetry.

Things like right angles and equilateral triangles

and shapes that you would not normally find in nature.

This structure is exactly two kilometers square.

This corner to this corner is two kilometers

and this corner to this corner is also exactly two kilometers,

which would make this more than double the size

of any pyramid thus far found on Earth.

NARRATOR: While it may seem unthinkable

that pyramids could exist in Antarctica,

in recent years, archaeologists have found

pyramids all over the world

that had been lost for centuries,

mistaken as natural formations

or hidden in the most unlikely places.

They have been discovered in the plains of northern Peru,

buried beneath dirt and rubble in Indonesia,

and one may even exist

in Los Angeles, California.

All the way round the world

we find evidence of pyramid structures.

We should start looking at the possibility

that there was habitation on Antarctica.

Was it a lost civilization?

Could it be ancient astronauts?

And just maybe,

the earliest monuments of our own civilization

came originally from Antarctica.

If this gigantic pyramid in Antarctica

is an artificial structure,

it would probably be the oldest pyramid on our planet

and, in fact, it might be the master pyramid

that all the other pyramids on planet Earth were designed

to look like.

MICHAEL SALLA: There has been extensive research done

on pyramids throughout the world

in terms of their structure

and what it is that they really are.

And one of the theories is

that pyramids are power generators.

And so, if you have these pyramids strategically placed

around the world generating this charge

it's possible to create

a general standing wave around the world

that is basically a wireless transmission of energy.

CHILDRESS: It's been theorized that ancient ships,

extraterrestrials, and those with high technology

could use this interconnected wireless energy system

to navigate around the planet.

And it makes sense that if there was some kind

of worldwide pyramid power grid like this,

that Antarctica would have pyramids as well.

TSOUKALOS: The whole idea of these pyramidal structures,

where did it come from?

Because it's not an arbitrary thing.

And these structures, they exist worldwide,

so you know, what was the impetus,

what's the origin?

And even more fascinating,

did they originate on the Antarctic continent?

NARRATOR: Might the pyramid Joseph White claims to have discovered

near the Shackleton Mountain Range

and other pyramid-shaped formations

recently photographed in Antarctica,

provide evidence of extraterrestrial visitation

to our planet in the remote past?

And if they are actually man-made structures,

how is such a thing even possible

in a place that has been buried beneath the ice

for over 12 million years?

According to ancient astronaut theorists,

Antarctica may not have been a frozen continent

for as long as mainstream scientists suggest.

And they say proof can be found

by examining a 500-year-old map

depicting the continent without any ice.

NARRATOR: Siberia. 2013.

A wooly mammoth is discovered

flash-frozen in the glacial ice,

engulfed so quickly

that its blood and muscle tissue are perfectly preserved.

It is just one of dozens that have been found

within the Siberian ice

since the turn of the 20th century.

Many seemingly caught in suspended animation,

some with food in their mouths

and vegetation in their stomachs

that would only grow in a much warmer climate.

MICHAEL DENNIN: The discovery of a wooly mammoth that was

flash-frozen raises

some interesting scientific questions.

Did something happen very locally

to the wooly mammoth that it froze very fast?

But it does also raise the question

of how quickly can climate really change.

And does it take some sort of cataclysm?

One that's sudden and unexpected?

NARRATOR: In 1958,

Charles Hapgood, a Harvard-educated scientist,

published the book Earth's Shifting Crust.

In it, he proposed that portions of the Earth's crust

experienced violent and sudden shifts

during Earth's geological history.

His theory, known as Crustal Displacement, posited

that both Siberia and the continent of Antarctica

were located in slightly more temperate climates

prior to the end of the last ice age,

approximately 12,000 years ago.

But then, some unknown catastrophe plunged them

into their current positions.

COLLINS: Professor Hapgood came up with the idea

that the previous North Pole position had been

in the area of the Hudson Bay,

and then it shifted to where the pole is today.

And at the southern pole,

he believes that the area of Antarctica

had previously also experienced the temperate climate

and that this was suddenly now thrust

into this deep ice

and this harsh, freezing climate.

He believed the last time

that this had actually taken place

was approximately 12,000 years ago.

When we think about earth crust displacement theory

and plate tectonics,

you want to think of the crust

basically floating on the magma

and being able to shift and move around on top of it.

The Earth's crust is not one solid piece.

We know it's made of individual pieces.

So you could look and see

how the continents probably used to fit together

and where they moved, and how they move apart

over a long period of time.

But the question is, you know,

would something the size of Antarctica shift suddenly,

or is that too big?

MICHAEL SALLA: These crustal shifts,

according to Hapgood, actually could happen

over a period of even days.

And so, if you had a thriving civilization,

this crustal displacement could have hit it very, very quickly

and so, it could have actually been frozen

over a very short period of time.

NARRATOR: Although Hapgood's theory

of sudden, large-scale shifts

of the Earth's crust was not widely accepted,

renowned physicist Albert Einstein

was electrified by it

and even wrote the foreword of Hapgood's book.

Hapgood would also find additional support

for his theory when, in 1960,

while combing through the Library of Congress archives,

he unearthed an unusual map published in 1531.

The map, credited to mathematician

and cartographer Orontius Finaeus,

appears to depict an ice-free continent remarkably similar

to today's maps of Antarctica.

COLLINS: It was not until as late as 1820

that we had any real idea of what Antarctica looked like.

Yet here,

on the Orontius Finaeus map from 1531,

here was Antarctica.

How the hell is it possible

that it could appear on this map?

NARRATOR: Researchers are baffled as to how the Orontius Finaeus map

could include a continent that was not discovered

until over 300 years later

and are even more perplexed by the fact

that it depicts Antarctica free of ice.

If explorers somehow discovered Antarctica in the 1500s,

it would have been completely frozen over.

Remarkably, the Finaeus map

shows not only a detailed coastline free of ice

but the entire continent,

including interior features such as rivers,

valleys and mountains.

The map shows mountain ranges

that have rivers coming out of the mountain ranges.

How could that be?

It's frozen. It's ice.

There's a NASA image

of the continent of Antarctica using radar

so that mountain ranges come through and can be seen.

And you can see a mountain range on one photograph,

and on the Orontius Finaeus map, it's right there, too.

It's the same mountain range.

NARRATOR: According to climatologists,

the estimates of when this feature

would have been free from ice cover

was at least 6,000 years ago.

So how is it possible that this map exists?

Did Finaeus have access to an older map,

one dating back thousands of years?

Perhaps more confounding,

U.S. Air Force cartographers

that were sent the maps in the 1960s concluded

that they were drawn using advanced spherical trigonometry

with remarkable precision,

especially when considering

the maps were made hundreds of years ago.

TSOUKALOS: The fact that we find something

that's a reference to modern-day technology

on a map that dates back to the 16th century

makes me think is it possible

that some type of advanced radar technology was used.

Because in order to produce a map

that would outline the areas we see,

you would have to be at an altitude of 80 miles.

So, how was that possible?

Could it be that the basis for these maps

was gleaned from maps that were cartographed

by extraterrestrial land surveyors?

The implications of all this--

and if you now are able to add things like pyramids--

this would really indicate that there was

some kind of ancient civilization in Antarctica

and that it would have been over 12,000 years ago.

And you've got to wonder what kind of civilization this was.

Is it possible that it was extraterrestrials?

NARRATOR: Could Antarctica have been inhabited by extraterrestrials

in the distant past?

Did they study this continent

and leave behind detailed information about its landscape?

If so, just what happened to these otherworldly visitors?

Ancient astronaut theorists believe

that strange encounters reported by the U.S. military may prove

that this frozen landscape is still an alien outpost.

NARRATOR: Lake Vostok, Antarctica.

Buried under two miles of ice

is a 4,800-square-mile body of water.

It is by far the largest

of the continent's nearly 400 lakes

that are entirely covered by ice.

In 2001,

pilots collecting data here recorded

unusual and extreme irregularities

in the magnetic field at the southeastern corner of the lake.

Spanning a remarkable 65 by 46 miles,

the anomalous area is producing

an unusually high level of magnetic energy.

SALLA: This anomaly was roughly 50 miles in diameter

and was something that would be commensurate

with the magnetic field being generated by a city.

CHRISTOPHER CHACON: I have been to Lake Vostok several times

as part of expedition research.

And when we were in the area,

we did pick up this magnetic anomaly,

but we also found other magnetic anomalies

which are actually transitioning from one place to another.

They were moving.

Highly rare and extremely unusual.

We weren't able to determine

what was causing these anomalies.

COLLINS: It's totally inexplicable.

And, of course, this has given rise to theories

that perhaps there is something else here.

Perhaps it's a UFO.

Perhaps it's some kind of alien base.

Perhaps even the remnants of a lost civilization.

And now the NSA themself

have almost put a blanket over any further research,

and it's almost become a no-go area.

NARRATOR: Vostok is not the only site

with limited outside access.

Seven different countries

have claimed territories in Antarctica,

yet it remains one of the most restricted locations

in the world.

Currently, there are 68 international bases here,

many of which require permits or special permissions to visit.

They are manned not just with scientists

but also military personnel.

But why is it so restricted?

Located on a southern peninsula of Ross Island,

this is the largest research station on the continent.

It was opened by the U.S. government in 1956

and houses up to as many as 1,200 residents at a time.

In January of 2015,

a U.S. Navy flight engineer

who served with the Antarctic Development Squadron

at McMurdo for 14 years

came forward to investigative reporter Linda Moulton Howe

with bizarre accounts of his time in Antarctica.

HOWE: In January 2015,

I got an email from a retired

naval flight engineer.

He's asked me to call him only "Brian" in the world public.

And this is what he told me.

From about 1983

to when he retired from the Navy in 1997,

he was in all kinds

of what they call Antarctic squadron expedition missions

that included rescuing people in and out of various places.

In all these trips,

nothing of a high strangeness had occurred.

And then, all of a sudden, it was one thing after another.

During a squadron mission in the Transantarctic Mountains,

the whole crew saw a whole bunch of silver darting objects.

And they are round.

And he says they're doing the strangest thing--

they're going, like, to this peak in a group,

to this peak in a group, to this peak in a group.

And then they'd all take off.

And not only did this happen once,

it happened over and over.

NARRATOR: According to the informant,

this was just one

of many strange mysteries on the continent

that he witnessed during his time there.

HOWE: They get an assignment not long after.

There's a medical emergency.

They are now under the gun, the clock is ticking

and a decision was made--

they're going through the no-fly zone

because it's a medical emergency.

And what do they see?

In the ice,

like, a huge entrance to a cave

but slanted, going down.

And he said, "I think it was at least, Linda,

200 feet in diameter-- a big hole in the ice."

And he said, "Our instruments are not operating.

"We were losing electricity.

"We had magnetic anomalies.

"And we concluded there's something about this hole

that is now causing these problems."

They do their medical recovery.

And the next thing they know,

they're all being chewed out

by men in suits

that are not from McMurdo.

They appear to be from Washington, D.C.

And as he said,

"They told us that we are never, ever

"to fly over that hole

and we are never to discuss it again."

What is that about?

And does that have anything to do

with all these other pieces that keep emerging

that there might be something archaeological in Antarctica?

NARRATOR: According to ancient astronaut theorists,

this was not the first time

a massive hole has been spotted in the ice of Antarctica.

Famous polar explorer Admiral Richard Byrd allegedly reported

seeing a massive entrance to an underground world

during his 1947 expedition to the South Pole.

CHILDRESS: Admiral Byrd made a lot of unusual statements,

allegedly talking about a large opening at the South Pole

that went deep inside the Earth, ice-free,

and was inhabited by various sorts of aliens.

And when Byrd got back to the United States,

he was brought back to Washington

where he was questioned very heavily about his statements.

And, allegedly, he was told to stop talking about this.

You have to wonder, is the South Pole some kind of...

extraterrestrial entry zone,

some kind of portal that's so important

that it has to be controlled by the military?

NARRATOR: Is the United States government covering up

an extraterrestrial presence in Antarctica?

And if so, could they be the same otherworldly beings

that once occupied the continent thousands of years ago?

Perhaps further clues can be found

in whistleblower testimony

of military personnel stationed at the South Pole.

NARRATOR: Although it was discovered over 200 years ago,

scientists have more questions than answers

when it comes to understanding the continent of Antarctica.

Due to the sheer depth of the ice

covering its landmass, the surface of Antarctica

is unable to be seen with the naked eye.

And ancient astronaut theorists propose that it is

not just the geology that is hidden from us.

They suggest there is far more human, and perhaps

non-human activity happening

in Antarctica than we've been told.

Something seems to be going on on this mysterious continent

at the South Pole.

And it has been theorized by a number of people

that Antarctica is some kind of alien base.

NARRATOR: Rumors of extraterrestrial activity

in Antarctica have circulated for years.

And now, at long last, military personnel

who have been stationed on the frozen continent

are willing to speak to these claims.

Investigative journalist Linda Moulton Howe arrives to conduct

an interview with a former Navy flight engineer

who has come forward with information

about strange events he witnessed

during his time in Antarctica.

This is where one of the most

important whistleblowers in my career lives.

And he has decided that he is willing to work with me

to tell the truth about what happened with him in Antarctica.

This is the kind of breakthrough I have been hoping

that people with real, solid military information

would start coming forward and we would start

learning the facts and the truth

in spite of government policies of denial.

(distorted): I knew things that I felt

needed to be put out in the mainstream.

NARRATOR: "Brian," as he prefers to be called, requested that

his face and voice be obscured to protect his identity.

His unit was based on the southern tip

of Ross Island at the U.S. McMurdo Station,

the main logistics hub that services

nearly all of the scientific outposts on the continent.

Brian, when did you get into the Navy

and how did you get to Antarctica?

I enlisted in July of 1976.

In order to go to Antarctica, you have to volunteer.

It's not a duty station where you are ordered to go.

I was able to get orders

to Antarctica Development Squadron Six,

which is referred to as VXE-6.

And its mission would be described as what, generally?

The mission, basically, was supplying

to out-camps, science parties from McMurdo Station

to South Pole, back and forth.

Talk about sort of the route

and what you guys began to see on a repeated basis.

During our '95-'96 season,

my crew was doing a lot of back and forth to Pole.

Mainly, it was cargo resupply, personnel exchanges.

That season, prior to us doing missions,

we were told by some of our officers

that if we saw something flying

that we weren't supposed to say anything.

Oh, so you knew that

people had-- Were already warning about it,

- but you had not seen it. - Yeah. Right.

so, somewhere around December

we were flying a mission from McMurdo,

and my loadmaster in the back, he gets on the intercom,

the ICS, and he says, "Hey there's something

off to the left here kind of shimmering."

So I walk up to the flight deck.

I'm looking out the big windows, and I see these little

disc-shaped objects.

There was probably four or five of 'em,

and they were, at first, when I first saw them,

they were just stationary over one mountain peak.

And then, all of a sudden, I'm looking at 'em,

and one of 'em takes off by itself and flies

at incredible speed to the next mountaintop, and stops.

And then another one in the group takes off

and heads toward where the first one went.

What did the pilot say?

(chuckles) That was kinda funny. My pilot gets on the intercom,

and he kind of jokingly goes, "Well, all I can tell you is

they're not ours."

Not ours? What are you talking about?

And it kept happening?

Yes. It happened at least two other times.

HOWE: Brian feels that it is really important that the world

know that there is something that is going on in Antarctica.

NARRATOR: As far as ancient astronaut theorists are concerned,

Antarctica is not only hiding secrets

about current extraterrestrial activities.

They believe there is much more to be learned by examining

incredible new discoveries deep underground.

In the 21st century, satellite photography has allowed anyone

with an Internet connection to access images of Antarctica.

In 2016, a striking image was discovered of a seemingly

man-made entrance carved into an Antarctic mountain range.

This is a legitimate satellite image

of a very large, proportionate

hole in the ground, or the mountain range.

This looks intelligently designed to suit

a specific craft that flies through this particular opening.

NARRATOR: Similarly, in 2018, Internet researchers

released the coordinates for what they describe as a UFO

crash-landed on the Antarctic island of South Georgia.

The photographs are really compelling, because this is not

somebody making believe something is there,

you can actually see the skid marks.

It actually looks as though an object

is moving along that ice.

But the thing that so intrigued people looking at

those images were that the skid marks were straight.

NARRATOR: Some ancient astronaut theorists have noted

that the shape of the alleged craft is very similar to

a mysterious celestial object that was detected

entering our solar system in October, 2017.

Called Oumuamua, the object was initially

identified as an asteroid, but its shape,

trajectory and acceleration were so unexpected

that the chair of Harvard's astronomy department, Avi Loeb,

suggested that Oumuamua might be an alien probe.

It's a very curious image of this

large, oblong, tubular-shaped craft that seems

to have crashed into the ice and then skidded along.

And it really looks like this interstellar asteroid,

Oumuamua, that could easily be a spacecraft...

The actual craft itself is right around

50 yards in length.

This is the wider view of this object that quite possibly

came in at an angle,

ricocheted off of the base of this mountain,

and that's what gave it the momentum to skid

several thousands of feet.

You can definitely see the mountain.

There's some disturbance here where

this track leads back to, from this unidentified object.

This very well could be a crash landing based off of what we're

seeing at the bottom of the mountain, yeah.

NARRATOR: Is it possible that online researchers

using satellite technology

actually located the crashed remnants

of an extraterrestrial vehicle

and the opening to an underground alien base?

There's been a lot of talk about underground bases in Antarctica.

And certain satellite photos show mountain areas

that have unusual caverns in them.

Literal windows that are the shape of a flying saucer.

NARRATOR: Is it possible that secret,

perhaps extraterrestrial bases

are hidden beneath the ice on Antarctica?

Curiously, the idea of habitable space beneath the ice

has been recently backed up by mainstream science.

NARRATOR: Mt. Erebus, Ross Island, Antarctica.

2017.

Researchers from the Australian National University

discover the existence of vast ice caverns

directly adjacent to this active volcano.

Due to their location, these glacial caves

under the ice offer something incredibly unique

on the otherwise frigid continent:

large, heated spaces

with temperatures warm enough to sustain life.

SALLA: Australian scientists were able to find enormous caverns

that were hollowed out, that were

places where you could actually have life flourish.

That they were able to determine that some of these caverns

were thermally heated to a balmy 70, 72 degrees.

NARRATOR: Seventy-two degrees? In Antarctica?

Mt. Erebus is just one of more than 90 volcanoes on Antarctica.

Modern technology has enabled scientists to discover

additional caverns near these features, and some

are reportedly as large as the entire island of Manhattan.

CHILDRESS: Here we have a huge, apparently underground world

beneath Antarctica.

And this could be used by extraterrestrials

as these ready-made bases

that are underground and are hidden.

NARRATOR: Could these naturally-heated caverns and tunnels

really be inhabited by extraterrestrials?

The ideas of both passageways deep under

the Antarctic ice sheets and also an alien presence

on the icy continent are not new.

Some say they trace back to the beginning

of World War II and a secret Nazi expedition.

NARRATOR: On the brink of World War II,

Adolf Hitler is secretly searching for ancient relics

that he believes could hold incredible powers.

As part of this effort, on December 17,

he sends the German freighter M.S. Schwabenland

on a top secret mission

to establish a permanent base on Antarctica.

But why is Hitler sacrificing crucial resources

and personnel for a mission to Antarctica

when he is simultaneously preparing to go to war?

The Thule Society was very important in understanding

what happened in Nazi Germany.

They actually believed that they were mystics

who could communicate with beings

who claimed to be extraterrestrial in origin.

Hitler's Nazi Party got information

through these psychic mediums who told them that

in Antarctica there is this ancient civilization,

or bases where they could find advanced technologies.

The Nazis found some of these caverns beneath the ice.

And some of them can be reached by submarines, apparently.

SALLA: The story goes the German navy

were able to find passages under the Antarctic ice sheets

to these enormous caverns.

And so they were then able to establish

these bases under the Antarctic ice sheet.

NARRATOR: Does the recent discovery

of interconnected caverns beneath the ice of Antarctica

validate rumors about the Nazis

that many mainstream historians had deemed a complete fantasy?

And if so, might the Nazis have discovered something

truly incredible on the frozen continent?

BIRNES: One theory is that

the Germans discovered,

when they were exploring the South Pole,

that there was actually another presence

at the South Pole that was not human.

And together with that presence,

the Germans established a base on Antarctica.

NARRATOR: After the Nazis were defeated in 1945,

the United States and the Soviet Union recruited

the top Nazi scientists, many who later embarked

on their own secret missions to Antarctica.

Is it possible that these two emerging world powers

had knowledge that the Nazis did, in fact,

come into contact with extraterrestrials

at the South Pole?

A U.S. scientific expedition called Operation High Jump

departs for the South Pole.

It is led by esteemed Naval officer and explorer

Admiral Richard Byrd.

BIRNES: Admiral Richard Byrd

was a very important admiral in the United States Navy.

He graduated the United States Naval Academy at Annapolis,

he fought in World War I, and after the War,

he became an explorer.

NARRATOR: In 1926, Byrd made worldwide headlines

when he and Navy Chief Aviation Pilot Floyd Bennett

became the first people to ever fly over the North Pole.

For their efforts, both men received

the Congressional Medal of Honor.

Later, when Byrd-- at the age of 41--

made the first solo flight over the South Pole,

he became the youngest person ever promoted to the rank

of admiral in the history of the United States Navy.

In 1946,

Byrd oversaw Operation High Jump,

the largest Antarctic expedition to date.

The massive military convoy included 13 ships,

33 aircraft and 4,700 troops.

The U.S. Navy sent down a flotilla of ships

under command of Admiral Byrd.

And they came back after about nine months in Antarctica.

Apparently, they actually fought a battle in Antarctica,

probably between remnants of the Third Reich

and perhaps extraterrestrials, as well.

There were stories of craft coming up out of the water

and attacking them.

Flying saucers dealt a very heavy defeat

to Byrd's Operation High Jump.

He gave a report in March of 1947 that said

a new enemy had been discovered that could fly

from Pole to Pole in an instant.

NARRATOR: Is it possible that this incredible story

of a Naval battle with extraterrestrials

and encounters with craft capable of flying

from the South to the North Pole in an instant

could actually be true?

In 2018, more than 70 years after Byrd's astounding claim,

a satellite image captured what appeared to be

a condensed water trail from an aircraft, or contrail,

that could only have been produced by something traveling

at incredibly high speeds.

BRADBURY: It extended

the entire length of the Earth,

longitudinally, from the North Pole

to the South Pole, which is 12,000 miles.

NARRATOR: The maximum length of time

that a contrail can maintain its shape is 30 minutes,

but most dissipate in less than 15.

Only a craft capable of traveling faster

than 50,000 miles per hour, or ten times the speed

of the fastest aircraft in existence today,

could leave a contrail that would stretch

the entire length of the Earth without breaking up.

It's a seeming impossibility, 'cause it meant

that some object was able to traverse the entire planet

from Pole to Pole in a matter of minutes

before the contrail disappeared.

BRADBURY: Whatever created that

was going beyond Mach ten.

Mach ten is over 78,000 miles per hour.

This was probably going much, much faster than that.

So whatever it was was something that,

more than likely, we've never seen before.

NARRATOR: After sharing the image online,

Michael Bradbury received replies of confirmed sightings

and even photographic corroboration

looking up at what appeared to be

the same incredible contrail from below.

People had seen from below,

on the ground, looking up, the same thing.

When I saw this, I thought of Admiral Byrd and what he said.

Admiral Byrd did tell us that we had a very good chance

of being invaded by a very fast-moving object

that would be able to travel from Pole to Pole

at a very incredible speed.

NARRATOR: Is it possible that Admiral Byrd

and the U.S. Navy really did encounter

alien technology in Antarctica?

Technology that today appears to be able to travel

across the planet, from Pole to Pole,

at a remarkably high speed?

Ancient astronaut theorists say yes,

and point to strange sightings and anomalies

found halfway around the globe

in the remote arctic region of Alaska.

NARRATOR: Alaska, the largest of all U.S. states.

It's home to the nation's highest peak,

its biggest national park

and more coastline than all other states combined.

With dense, uninhabited wilderness

and countless mountains,

Alaska presents a landscape that can be beautiful,

forbidding and often treacherous.

MIKE RICKSECKER: The entirety of the Alaska wilderness

is over 600,000 square miles.

People don't realize this, but it's actually

two and a half times the size of Texas.

It's absolutely massive.

It's an area of the world that's extremely desolate,

very cold, very remote,

in which there are no roads that go to many of these places.

KEN GERHARD: Having worked extensively in Alaska,

one cannot overstate the immensity

and vastness of the region.

There are some 17 mountain ranges,

66,000 miles of coastland

and an estimated 3,000 rivers and over three million lakes.

So, it is really one of the last frontiers in the world.

And one of the most challenging, brutal habitats

that I've ever investigated.

We're talking about harsh winters,

craggy peaks, dangerous animals.

It really encompasses all of that.

NARRATOR: Literally hundreds of planes

have disappeared while in flight over Alaska,

never to be recovered.

And while many have blamed

the state's extreme weather and terrain,

Alaska has long been known as a hot spot

for all kinds of strange phenomena.

As recently as February 10, 2023,

a U.S. F-22 fighter jet

shot down an unidentified flying object

hovering ten miles off the north coast of Alaska,

making headlines around the world.

The anomalous activity in Alaska has been noted

for well over 100 years,

like the Bermuda Triangle

and the Devil's triangle out in Japan.

COLLINS: Within this area, incredible amount

of weird things take place.

We have paranormal activity,

the appearance of strange cryptids

and other monsters of time and space,

as well as the manifestation of UFOs

and mysterious lights.

NARRATOR: Commercial pilot Theo Chesley

has been flying in Alaska for nearly four decades,

and had heard countless stories of bizarre aerial encounters.

But Chelsey remained a skeptic until 2019,

when he had his own astonishing experience

flying by Mt. Shishaldin,

an active volcano on Unimak Island in the Aleutians.

THEO CHESLEY: The morning in late October,

2019, we had a normal charter flight

from Sand Point direct to Dutch Harbor,

with three passengers aboard.

About halfway through the flight,

we're approaching the volcano from the north.

The weather that day was fairly good.

Good visibility.

And we saw something in the sky

about 15 miles south of the volcano.

A horizontal disc-shaped object that was very symmetrical,

just almost perfect symmetry.

As we continued on our flight path,

the disc became more prevalent...

...and turned into a vertical fashion.

We knew something extraordinary was happening in front of us.

Almost around that same time, a green spirit

exhibited itself on the side of the mountain.

NARRATOR: The incident caught the attention

of author and researcher David Childress,

who traveled to Anchorage to meet with Chesley

and examine the evidence of his harrowing encounter.

CHILDRESS: Hi, Theo.

Hi, David. Nice to meet you.

Nice to meet you.

I understand you have

a very interesting story to tell.

Well, I do.

It happened right here in this aircraft.

CHILDRESS: You've been flying here for quite a few years, right?

CHESLEY: Yeah, about 35 years.

So, when was this first occurrence?

Well, we had a flight

back in October of 2019.

We were northeast of the mountain.

We were probably 30 miles from the mountain.

We spotted something in the sky.

And this is what we saw.

CHILDRESS: Did it seem to have a cloud around it, or no?

CHESLEY: It had like a tail on it,

a little bit of a wisp coming out of the back.

So I'm looking at it, going, "Okay, what is that?"

As we started to come towards the mountain and fly by it,

this horizontal disk turned vertical

and came over

and sort of parked by the mountain

and held its shape.

So, it had been moving and then it stopped?

CHESLEY: It stopped by the volcano.

So I'm, like, looking at it, going,

"Okay, if this is a smoke ring,

it's not gonna hold its shape, it's not gonna stop.

It's gonna dissipate."

It held its shape the whole time.

And have you ever seen anything like this before?

I've been flying, you know, 35 years

and 15,000 hours of flight time, most of them in Alaska,

and I had never seen anything like this.

Then we had something fly out of the mountain.

- Now, the mountain... - A-A second object?

CHESLEY: A second object.

So, this object flies out of the mountain.

And at the same time, we're still watching

the sphere that's vertically parked.

- And it's, like, up here? - It's right over here.

Matter of fact, I'll show you another picture here

that just kind of just puts it all together.

Okay, so then this appeared

on the side of the mountain.

This green orb shows up on the side of the mountain

in a lower spot.

The next picture we take...

...this is what happened to the vertical sphere in the sky.

Something flew inside of it and pulled it out of shape.

You see these two little, I don't know,

there's, like, two little wings out there.

And we, like, looked at that and I said,

"No, we're done here.

We're, we are leaving the scene here."

And to be honest, you know,

my concern level was going about through the roof at that point.

CHILDRESS: Did it seem like a very large object, then?

CHESLEY: This is a big mountain,

and this was something that caught our eye

40 to 50 miles away.

Okay, that's, yeah, it's, like

- 40, 50 miles away, okay. - Yeah, so this had to be almost,

I want to guess a half a mile wide.

CHILDRESS: Wow, that's fascinating.

I mean, it, it definitely makes you wonder,

"Okay, what's in this volcano? What is the attraction here?"

And the crazy thing is this was just the first occurrence.

We had a second occurrence.

- Okay. - Six months later.

I'm by myself in a different aircraft

and I looked out of my left window,

and all of a sudden, there is a huge cloud formation

that came out of nowhere.

And that's right, kind of above the volcano.

Above and east of the mountain.

I've never seen anything like this in my life.

It was a clear sky without anything

and suddenly you saw this?

Well, you saw the picture.

That picture that I took--

clear sky-- was a minute before this decided to show up.

So the crazy part is

this cloud morphed into several different shapes.

There looks like something black inside there,

an object underneath this thing.

CHILDRESS: Yeah.

During the occurrence, I had the aircraft on autopilot,

and the aircraft was flying straight and true.

My route of flight took me back by the mountain again.

As I'm coming back,

I have the aircraft on autopilot.

And I look down

and I notice I'm 35 degrees off course

heading towards the mountain.

I shut the autopilot off,

reset the heading,

set the airplane back up on course.

And "Okay, yeah, we're fine."

And I'm looking around again,

trying to see if there's anything.

And I look down,

and we're heading back towards the mountain again,

It happened two times.

So at that point, I go,

"Oh, no, this, something's not right here.

I'm gonna hand fly the aircraft.

And we're fine hand flying the airplane."

But I've never had that happen to me on an autopilot,

Just pull the aircraft,

you know, start pulling the aircraft

somewhere where it's not supposed to be.

So the autopilot then

was somehow sensing some weird magnetic thing

- and pulling you, then. - Exactly.

- Out of... - Something internally in the aircraft

was feeling a magnetic pull.

To me, this is a very important story.

I'm so glad that you've been able

to get these good photographs.

you've got other witnesses.

And for seven years, there have been planes vanishing,

even military planes.

This all fits so squarely into the mystery,

which is Alaska.

? ?

NARRATOR: As an experienced pilot,

Theo Chesley cannot explain

what he saw on those two separate occasions

nor explain the magnetic anomaly

that interfered with his autopilot instrumentation.

And to ancient astronaut theorist David Childress,

the photographic evidence is astounding.

CHILDRESS: Theo's a great observer.

You know that you're really getting good information

and reliable information.

This is all compelling evidence

that something's happening here in Alaska.

In the 37 years I've been flying,

I've seen a lot of things.

I've been through a lot of storms,

some great flights,

some not-so-great flights.

I'll be the first to tell you,

when you're saying you're seeing something,

you're seeing something.

I'm one of those kind of guys that have to see something

that's extraordinary to believe it.

And what I saw was just

not anything ordinary at all.

NARRATOR: Could an extraterrestrial presence be responsible

for the strange sightings

and aircraft malfunction that Theo Chesley experienced,

as well as other anomalous events

and the disappearances that plague the area?

Ancient astronaut theorists say yes

and suggest that recently declassified CIA documents

could hold clues to an alien presence

under the mountains of Alaska.

NARRATOR: Alaska's Aleutian Islands--

where pilot Theo Chesley encountered

no less than four unidentified flying objects--

is an area that has been known

for strange sightings

dating back to 1945,

when a U.S. Army transport reported seeing a large UFO

emerge from the waters near the island of Adak.

CHILDRESS: Historically, there has been

a lot of UFO sightings around the Aleutian Islands.

And there are 57 volcanoes throughout the Aleutian Islands.

And it seems that some of these volcanoes

have some very peculiar activity around them.

NARRATOR: But east of the Aleutian Islands is a large area that has become

even more notorious for strange phenomena.

It is called The Alaska Triangle.

The Alaska Triangle is an area

roughly between Anchorage, Juneau and Barrow, Alaska,

more or less running along the border

of the Canadian Territories and the State of Alaska.

TSOUKALOS: The Alaska Triangle can be likened to the Bermuda Triangle,

where really strange things happen

seemingly without explanation.

NARRATOR: Within this region of anomalous activity

stands Mt. Hayes, one of Alaska's tallest peaks

and a place where UFO sightings are reported

with great frequency.

Many people have seen UFOs,

flying saucers, strange lights,

flying in and around Mt. Hayes.

Now, there's no road that can go up there.

The only way to get to Mt. Hayes

is to actually fly there, which most people don't do.

So, what are these craft that are flying around Mt. Hayes?

NARRATOR: For decades,

eyewitness testimony was the only evidence

to support the notion that Mt. Hayes was

a UFO hotspot.

But in 1995,

declassified documents revealed that Mt. Hayes featured

prominently in a top secret government project

called Stargate.

NEWMAN: Researchers were looking through CIA documents

and they found evidence of a project

underneath Mt. Hayes.

And they say they saw, written in these records,

that it was actually an alien underground base in this area.

NARRATOR: Researchers were astounded to find a reference

to an extraterrestrial base in official CIA documents.

And just as intriguing is how this information was obtained.

According to the declassified documents,

the existence of an alien base beneath Mt. Hayes was gleaned

from a top secret experimental investigation technique

used by Project Stargate--

a technique called "remote viewing."

NEWMAN: Remote viewing was used by the CIA

all during the Cold War.

And this is really a psychic projection technique where,

from one location, the remote viewer can look

into a different place on the Earth's surface

and he's able to project his vision there

and able to see what is going on.

Project Stargate had a specific purpose

of using remote viewers--

quite literally psychic spies--

to find information

on what the Soviets were up to.

NARRATOR: The most famous remote viewer

to come out of the Stargate project

was a man named Pat Price.

Price was the first to report what he believed to be

an alien base under Mt. Hayes.

He would sit down and draw what he sees,

and he was deadly accurate on his predictions.

One time, Pat Price remote viewed Mt. Hayes

and saw that there was structures

that were under the mountain--

tubes, tunnels--

and he was intrigued by that,

so he went deeper.

RICKSECKER: Pat Price saw within Mt. Hayes what he described

as geographical instrumentation.

He saw computers.

He also described these strange, humanoid creatures

that were within the mountain.

And they were working alongside human personnel,

which he believed were military personnel.

NARRATOR: In its race to become a major military power,

China sets off the largest underground

nuclear bomb test in the history of the nation.

The one megaton blast-- 70 times the explosive power

of the atomic bomb dropped on Hiroshima--

sends shockwaves across the planet.

Thousands of miles away, scientists in the United States

begin to study how these shockwaves travel

through the Earth's crust, hoping to learn about

underground faults and other hidden geological structures.

As the shockwaves reach Alaska,

scientists notice highly unusual readings around

Mt. Denali, North America's tallest peak.

When these ripples of the shockwaves crossed over

into Alaska, there was this pyramidal shape

that came across their instrumentation,

indicating this massive pyramidal structure

located under Mt. Denali

within the area of the Alaska Triangle.

This is really when the dark pyramid was first discovered.

NARRATOR: Seismic instruments revealed that the top

of the 550-foot-tall pyramid shape

lies 150 feet below ground

and just 130 miles southwest of Mt. Hayes,

where remote viewer Pat Price

claimed to have detected an underground alien base.

Intrigued by the mysterious discovery,

investigative journalist Linda Moulton Howe

began researching the curious findings

and what might have compelled scientists

to be prepared to record activity underneath Mt. Denali.

Why would geophysicists be interested in monitoring to see

whether or not there was something underground in Alaska

has always been a question in my mind.

Was there already some information

that our government had

and this was a perfect opportunity

to take advantage of what the Chinese were going to do?

NARRATOR: Over the years, Linda has interviewed

a number of people claiming to have information about

a mysterious underground structure near Mt. Denali.

One account came from a man who claimed his father

has actually been inside the dark pyramid.

He said that his father was working for Western Electric

and ended up as a very skilled

electronic engineer being asked to go

to a location west of what was Mt. Denali.

His father told him there was a big freight elevator

that was sticking up out of the ground

and when you got to the bottom,

opened up into full bore

room, work, offices.

The father is introduced to the fact

that they are at the bottom of a pyramid.

And that at each of the three corners,

they had these offices that were actually monitoring energy.

And the father tells the son, who got in touch with me,

"We are measuring energy

"coming out of this pyramid that is enough

to power the entire country of Canada."

NARRATOR: Could a secret energy source be hidden

under the Mt. Denali mountain range?

Perhaps clues can be found

by examining electromagnetic anomalies

that have in fact been detected

throughout a vast region surrounding the area

where the dark pyramid is said to exist.

TRAVIS TAYLOR: This very strange localized magnetic anomaly

seems to occur randomly, transiently,

and at different locations throughout this vast wilderness.

So much so that the north will be off as much as 30 degrees.

So, what's causing these magnetic anomalies?

There are a lot of people who believe that there could be

unusual phenomenon originating from technology

inside this so-called dark pyramid.

NARRATOR: Is it possible that there is an ancient pyramid

hidden deep under Mt. Denali that is generating

massive amounts of energy?

And if so, could this structure,

along with a secret base alleged to exist beneath the ground

at nearby Mt. Hayes, point to an alien presence

in Alaska that dates back thousands of years?

Ancient astronaut theorists say yes,

and suggest that clues to who or what this presence may be

can be found in the Inuit stories

of contact with sky gods

and otherworldly beings.

NARRATOR: Alaska is home to dozens of indigenous

Native American cultures.

who have inhabited the area for hundreds

and in some cases thousands of years.

There are, of course, a number

of different Native American cultures in Alaska.

You have the Innuit people of the northern coastal regions.

You have the Athabaskans of the central Alaskan region,

the Yupik people.

And then in southeast Alaska, you have

the Tlingit and the Haida tribes.

NARRATOR: Each of the Native Alaskan tribes

has its own unique traditions,

but these separate cultures all tell stories of the sky people

encountered by their earliest ancestors.

I was stationed in Alaska from 1992 to 1995

as part of the United States Air Force

at Elmendorf Air Force Base.

And I heard the local legends and lore

from the Natives up there.

And local legends dating back centuries

talk about strange lights in the sky

and strange beings visiting the people.

These cultures had rich

stories about contact with beings from

beyond this planet. The so-called star people.

NARRATOR: Ancient Alaskan stories

of strange entities in the sky and visitors

from the stars are perfectly aligned with the kind

of phenomena that have been reported in modern times,

as are accounts of bizarre, otherworldly creatures.

There is a common thread that runs through the Alaska story,

and it has to do with these supernatural creatures.

They have eyewitness accounts of these bizarre,

terrifying creatures that appear in all their tribal stories.

By far, the most frightening creature is

the Inuit story of the Kushtaka.

This is a being that shapeshifts.

And people have been seeing them for thousands of years.

NARRATOR: When considering the high number of UFO sightings

that have been reported in Alaska,

is it possible that the stories of strange creatures

have an otherworldly explanation?

As further support for this notion,

ancient astronaut theorists point out that some

Native Alaskan legends sound suspiciously similar

to modern tales of small, grey aliens

who sometimes abduct humans.

No creature is more frightening to them than the little people,

which go by a number of different Native names.

The Anukins, Urchin Rock, Jinksioc.

Perhaps what's most terrifying is that they are said

to abduct humans and that they will take them

to another realm where they can actually control time.

And these little beings are actually imbued

with other magical powers.

HENRY: The common thread that runs through those stories

is the idea of abduction.

That is a direct crossover into the UFO phenomena,

where people are terrified of UFOs because they've heard

that these alien beings are abducting people.

NARRATOR: According to some researchers,

the many accounts of strange beings in Alaska

could also point to the existence

of a portal or wormhole leading to other

points in the universe or even alternate dimensions.

NICK POPE: There's a theory that extraterrestrials

would use wormholes, scientifically known as

Einstein-Rosen bridges, a shortcut through space-time.

And UFOs would then apparently

arrive out of nowhere, seemingly, and disappear

into nowhere, which is very often

what you get in some of the sighting reports.

NARRATOR: Could the legends of the Native Alaskan people

reveal that strange and perhaps otherworldly phenomena

have been happening in this part of the world

for thousands of years?

As far as ancient astronaut theorists are concerned,

the answer is a resounding yes.

And they suggest that Alaska's remote location

makes it a prime destination

for extraterrestrial visitors.

RICKSECKER: Alaska is in a very remote area.

You don't have a lot of people around.

And so this could absolutely

make it an attractive location to extraterrestrials.

CHILDRESS: You have all of these volcanoes.

You have huge areas that are uninhabited.

And it's such a huge frontier region

that, you know, all kinds of things could be happening there.

THEO CHESLEY: There's a lot of crazy things going on

around the whole state.

And a lot of these occurrences happen

in very remote parts of the state.

So, that adds even more intrigue.

And I wouldn't discount any stories at this point.

There's just too much out there that you can't

discount some of this.

Having worked in Alaska, I can certainly attest

to the fact that it is a very dangerous place.

However, there is a real mystery in terms of the state of Alaska.

There have been many UFO reports.

And, of course, inferences to possible UFO abduction.

And many of these are supported by Native American traditions

that go back hundreds of years.

So we could be dealing with forces

beyond our current understanding.

BRUCE PEARSON: In Alaska, when you bring in evidence

that's gathered from a nuts-and-bolts standpoint,

from the physics standpoint,

from the dark pyramid, the fact of magnetic anomalies

or any of the other factors that may be involved here,

it is not reasonable that an educated person

taking as objective as possible a view at these incidents

could dismiss the possibility

that these incidents, in some cases, may be UFO-related,

and that is something that should

take anyone's breath away, or make them pause

and think seriously about the earth that we live on.

NARRATOR: Could Alaska's isolated, arctic location

make it an ideal setting for covert UFO activity?

Ancient astronaut theorists say yes,

and they suggest that the full scope

of otherworldly activities

happening at Earth's arctic extremes

is just beginning to be revealed

by military whistleblowers stationed

at the South Pole.

NARRATOR: During her conversation

with former Navy flight engineer "Brian,"

investigative journalist Linda Moulton Howe

learned of a strange incident that occurred

in November 1995

after he had dropped off a team of scientists

at a new research site in Marie Byrd Land.

BRIAN (distorted): Three, maybe four weeks into them

being out there, McMurdo lost communication.

They had missed a couple of their communication windows

that they were supposed to make a call every day.

Our crew was told to go out

and find out if everything was okay at the camp.

So, we went out and we orbited the camp

and there was no sign of anybody.

Right.

So, we landed

and our navigator got out

and he went out to try and find the camp manager.

He comes back and says, "There's nobody here."

So, we got orders to fly back to McMurdo,

so we closed up the airplane, took off,

came back to McMurdo.

NARRATOR: The scientists remained missing for more than a week,

an impossible amount of time

to survive out in the harsh Antarctic conditions

without shelter or food.

Yet one week later,

McMurdo dispatch was stunned

when they received radio communication from the team.

Somehow, they had all returned to their camp unharmed.

Brian's squadron was once again given orders to pick them up.

We landed, opened the back end of the aircraft up,

and the people-- they didn't even grab their gear,

they just ran up to the back of the airplane and jumped in.

And basically, we had to go out and get their gear

and put it in the airplane for them

because they weren't gonna get out of the aircraft.

What were you seeing on their faces

of these scientists running into the C-130?

They looked scared.

I mean, I can't say it any plainer than that.

They look scared.

These people aren't talking to us,

they're not saying anything.

And I even asked one of the guys,

"Hey, where were you guys, you know, for a whole week?"

And he just looked at me and he had this blank stare

on his face and he looked right at my face

and didn't say a word, not anything.

Would you say, based on your military life and work,

were these people in shock?

Yes. That's a very good explanation,

that they were in shock.

Somebody that had just experienced something

that terrified them, from what I can visualize,

the look they had-- yes, they were in shock.

NARRATOR: Curiously, as the aircraft

taxied into the runway at McMurdo Station,

they were met with a special transport vehicle.

The scientists were immediately flown

on a private flight back to Christchurch, New Zealand.

Brian and his team were never given any explanation

for why the scientists had gone missing

or why they were flown out of Antarctica in such a hurry.

What was the scuttlebutt, where you guys ate,

around this whole operation

of the scientists, the hole,

the silver discs-- what was the scuttlebutt?

In town, people were talking about

maybe they were abducted by aliens or something like that.

Kind of started off as a joke.

There were scientists that were saying

that they had run into some entities at Marie Byrd Land

and that's why they went missing.

Right. Right.

NARRATOR: If Brian's accounts are true

and there is in fact

an extraterrestrial presence in Antarctica today,

could it have been there for hundreds

or even thousands of years?

In July 2018, Linda Moulton Howe

interviewed another whistleblower

who offered to provide her with classified information

regarding Antarctica

on the condition that she not reveal his identity.

Her source, a retired Navy SEAL

who she identifies as "Spartan 1,"

provided her with details of an ancient structure

he claims to have visited during his time at the South Pole.

(distorted): At that time, my rank

was first lieutenant commander, naval special operations.

We were inbound the southeast coast of Antarctica.

We were dispatched for, unofficially, it was

a research/reconnaissance mission.

Officially, it was to find a certain individual,

obtain any information and bring it back.

HOWE: What was the date?

August 2003.

NARRATOR: According to Spartan 1,

when he and his team reached their destination,

they encountered a large octagonal structure

protruding from the ice.

Cautiously, they proceeded to enter it.

SPARTAN 1: The very top of the first structure we entered,

there was almost 18 feet poking from the ice.

The rest of it was hidden under the ice.

Each door was the same.

Anywhere from 18 feet thick

to around 30 feet thick.

And even though these doors were that thick and that heavy,

you could take one finger and push them and they would open.

There was no resistance whatsoever.

The outside temperature was at least 40 degrees below zero.

Once you stepped inside these structures,

the temperature was an ambient 68 to 72 degrees.

SPARTAN 1: It was lighted from the inside,

but we could not find the source of light.

It was a lime green in color.

The walls were lined with what I call hieroglyphics.

But nothing of hieroglyphics that I've ever seen in my life.

we have sacred texts that tell us

there was an antediluvian civilization.

There was a great flood and that there were survivors.

The Mesopotamians speak of this in the Epic of Gilgamesh,

the Egyptians speak of this in the Edfu creation text.

Plato learned from the Egyptians

that there was once a civilization called Atlantis

that existed 9,000 years before his time.

in two of his dialogues,

Timaeus and Critias, around 360 BC.

Historians and researchers have long debated

whether this pre-flood civilization

was purely mythological or actually existed.

Arguments have been made

suggesting remnants of Plato's destroyed civilization

could be found at the South Pole.

SALLA: I think what happened in Antarctica was that

approximately 13,000 years ago

that flourishing civilization

that originally came from space

and establishing its presence in Antarctica was flash-frozen.

We actually have ancient evidence of this

in the form of Plato's dialogues

where he talks about the last days of Atlantis.

That, basically, is informing us

that Atlantis was an extraterrestrial colony

that had established itself on Earth

and that after a pole shift,

Atlantis was moved under the ice

where the South Pole currently is.
