How do you get to this stage of

I know that I've done

particularly well in the last

couple challenges and I can't

go back, you know, I have to go

forward and I feel a lot of

Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week and

it just is the ultimate moment

in a designer's life, really

and truly.

the wind in your face, it was

just kind of breathtaking and

that actually might have been

the first moment that I really

did say to myself,

"Congratulations, you have made

it to the top five."

I wanna speak to the governor

right now.

I would like to speak to the

governor.

what could be in store on the

island for us.

>> I'm just enjoying the

scenery.

It comes at the perfect time.

I could use a moment to take a

Welcome to your inspiration for

this challenge, Governors

Island.

I am delighted to introduce you

to two very special guests.

Leslie Koch, President of the

trust for Governors Island,

and John Stern, President of

Storm King Art Center.

>> Governors Island's become

New York City's playground for

the arts, a source of

inspiration for thousands of New

Yorkers already and we're hoping

it will be a source of

inspiration for you today.

>> Thank you.

>> Designers, there is an

abundance of inspiration here.

You have the landscape, you have

the architecture, and you have

this incredible exhibition of

sculpture by Mark di Suvero.

And John's going to tell us more

about it.

>> Storm King Art Center is a

beautiful 500-acre sculpture

park and museum in the Hudson

Valley.

And for this exhibition we

brought Mark's work from

around the country to all the

visitor's at Governors Island

and today to you.

>> You will be creating three

looks.

And all three looks must

demonstrate a range.

By this I mean we don't want

three pantsuits, three gowns.

You're going to have an hour to

explore the island and sketch.

You each have a golf cart, there

are maps for you, and there also

are cameras for recording your

inspiration.

Then you'll meet me back here

and we'll be going to Mood where

you'll have a budget of $500 and

45 minutes to shop.

And it is a two-day challenge.

>> As I drive around Governors

Island I'm taking pictures of

different sculptures and one

sculpture really spoke to me.

It was called New Beginning.

That was my source of

inspiration because that's

exactly what this is, that's

exactly what this is about.

This new beginning.

>> Oh, wow.

I have a brother in the military

and I was drawn to the artillery

and the chapel happened to be

very close to it and it really

was the stained glass of the

church and the structure of it,

it just really caught my eye.

I love the effect of it.

And I loved this idea of

fragility meets strength and

power.

>> After taking in everything,

I'm most inspired by all the

circular shapes and I first

start sketching an evening gown

out of circles that are small

and get bigger towards the

bottom.

Lord knows how I'm gonna finish

that but I can't get it out of

my head.

>> From the island I'm taking

mostly the structure or the

silhouettes of things and the

city in the background.

I just wanna do a little bit

more metropolitan type of

design.

I'm definitely doing cigarette

pants, I'm doing a leather

jacket that's a little bit

draped, so I want it to seem

like it's flowy, kind of like

the background water.

Just make it look very high-end

and just interesting.

>> Initially I'm inspired just

by being in a new place.

But the most inspiring aspect of

this trip already is the

sculpture, because I love

sculpture.

I am sketching something that is

based off of the way the

sculpture can create lines and

negative and positive space.

I'm not gonna do prints, and I'm

not gonna go crazy with my usual

style.

I want to show the judges that

last challenge was not a fluke

for me.

The last and final challenge is

gonna be a lot of work.

>> Howdy!

>> Fantastic!

>> It'll be interesting to see

how everybody deals with it.

It's that push time of just,

like, get yourself through one

cantaloupe-colored wool.

I can't find the exact color

that I'm looking for, so now I

have to make some changes.

When it comes to spending money,

I like the finer things in life.

I'm gonna buy, buy, buy,

especially in, you know, rush

situations like this.

much quite yet but that's a

definite.

When I pull out the wool, I

realize that it's a bit brighter

and a bit more orange than I

wanted it to be.

But there's nothing I can do

now, so I have to make it work.

>> Uh-oh.

I'm gonna help Laura with what

the theme so when you're sewing

I'm just gonna use muslin

underneath just to put the

netting on to keep the belt.

I wanna have a high collar.

whether I should do, like, a

really cool jumper out of this

with the blazer over.

So I bought, like, transparency

in all, like, the paint colors.

>> So one I want to go in is

painted and then I wanna do this

really beautiful blazer.

Josh's designs are

over-designed, which is, you

know, where Josh goes.

So I'm really trying to tell him

that he needs to edit.

>> To cut all this out and then

just lay the plastic underneath.

It basically is the stained

glass already formatted.

>> Oh, you just cut out the

white.

>> Yeah.

>> It pops more.

>> Do you think it's too stark

though?

>> It is pretty stark.

>> Mm-hm.

>> Is Laura doing a stained

glass type thing?

>> At this point I don't really

care, she has nothing on me.

>> When I left, everybody was

loving each other and now that

I'm here it doesn't look like

the final five even really talks

to each other very much and you

can feel the tension.

>> So I was thinking for the

gown though, like, having the

back in mesh like that.

Because I have been getting

nailed on editing.

And, like, I am so capable of

just clean, clean work.

>> Yeah, and these fabrics are

so you already, you know what I

mean?

>> Yeah, that--like, I don't

need to keep adding so much

to it.

>> Mm-mm, you don't have to add

anything to it.

>> With Bryce's help I've edited

out my stained glass idea that I

was going to use.

>> You don't need to add every

idea you've got.

>> Right and this is about just

editing it and making it look

beautiful.

>> I think it's too sheer.

I think it's stunning but I

think it spoils.

It's distracting.

>> Yeah, I think you're right.

I like Anya, I think she's a

lovely, lovely person.

I definitely believe she's the

most talented, the most

creative.

She works outside the box.

Gotta do another layer.

bringing makes them still think

I'm going outside of my box and

limits to show them me.

tapered, let's have it straight.

>> I really don't like this

strap though.

>> Oliver and I are working

pretty well, but when I explain

to Oliver, usually he kind of

doubts.

>> I just think, like, you know,

it's the last challenge and you

want to go a bit, like, rrrr!

design.

Do it the way I want it.

I mean, I'm very confident.

>> I think slave is really a

correct word, you know, we're

working for somebody else and

not getting paid and you know

they don't really care, you

you're a designer, you should be

able to do a jacket."

And the fact that you've gotten

by on jumpers and dresses this

whole time, don't even get me

started.

There's definitely a

competitiveness that has entered

the room in a big way and I

really don't like it.

>> Like, for real about the

>> Yeah.

>> I just had $20,000 swept away

from me by a beauty queen.

Josh got pissed that Anya won

the $20,000 from the last

challenge.

The beauty or the talent?

>> Josh is jealous every time he

doesn't win the challenge.

So I think that for him to lose

the opportunity to win $20,000

probably pissed him off more

than a normal challenge.

Well, that just means you need

to get the hundred thou.

>> What's the Statue of Liberty

doing here?

>> This is not the Statue of

Liberty, Tim.

>> We said range.

>> I haven't seen a jacket, I

haven't seen real tailored

pants.

Does she even know how to make a

sleeve?

>> Ay-ay-ay.

>> Have a little work ahead of

us here.

>> I know.

>> I just think it has to be

kind of like how I did it like

that, so it looks more like

fabric.

>> Uh-huh.

I have already a jacket done and

Oliver finished his pants, so I

feel pretty good.

>> So the cocktail dress is

going bye-bye and I want to do

a--just a simple bodice top.

I'm making a gazillion changes.

As I go along I change from a

cocktail dress to separates.

I need to show them a range,

I need to show them something

new but give them some of my

strengths as well.

>> So this is gonna be a seam

here.

>> No.

>> That's what you drew up

there.

Just draw it really accurately.

Not quite so--

>> I don't know it accurately,

that's the problem.

>> Well, you if you don't know

it accurately I can't make a

pattern of it accurately.

>> I know, I know, I know.

>> Anya creates these really

complicated things, they're like

origami, and they're hard to

figure out.

It's quite a risk she takes,

'cause some of these things may

not work out and you just don't

have time to go back and redo

something.

You cannot keep saying okay--

I mean--

To remedy this, the first thing

I'm gonna try to do is get the

charmeuse to dye in some sort of

way.

>> This plastic didn't work

well.

It's so difficult to work with

plastic.

>> Throw that plastic on, throw

it, throw it.

'Cause the more plastic

he puts in, the better my

chances are.

you is my main inspiration.

Seeing all the circular

sculptures that were there was

really beautiful.

>> It is beautiful, yes.

>> So I had this idea of this

circle-covered gown.

>> This stencil is such a big

novelty item.

>> How do you feel about using

it in all three looks?

>> I think I'm using it in

different kinds of treatments.

>> There's just a lot of it.

>> Mm-hm.

>> Laura has a lot of dominating

shapes.

They're not gonna see the

silhouette or even the

construction because they're so

distracting.

>> I like just showing the

versatility of what it can do.

>> Sometimes the things you

really love the most just need

to be scaled back.

>> Yeah, yeah.

One of the first sculptures I

passed was this one and the name

of it is New Beginning.

So I was, like, "how apropos."

'Cause you had kind of a new

beginning in the last challenge.

>> I mean, everything about this

experience is a new beginning

for me.

So, um, what I'm doing here is

a coat.

It's gonna be asymmetrical.

>> Okay.

Are you responding positively to

the texture of that wool with

the textile for the pant?

>> Well--

>> it seems like there's an

awful lot going on to me.

>> I think Kimberly's design is

all her fabrics and they're

absolutely horrible.

It's so tacky, it's, like,

almost like a zoot suit costume.

>> And what's the Statue of

Liberty doing here?

>> This is not the Statue of

Liberty, Tim.

>> You sure?

>> Yes, I'm sure.

>> 'Cause it says statue to me.

>> This is supposed to be fitted

all the way down.

>> Okay.

>> So you won't get the Statue

of Liberty.

>> So I wanted to go with the

structure of basically the

sculptures and the city, the

background and everything.

Like this jacket--I wanted to

make it kind of flowy.

Kind of like the water,

whatever.

But more importantly is just the

color combinations.

And this one is a little bit

more softer, it looks more

polished.

>> It just feels very organic,

it feels very you, and it has a

profound sophistication.

>> Oh, good, thank you.

So we're just kind of dealing

with this idea of soft and hard.

It's gonna have, like, a little

bit of an armor aspect, you

know?

mesh skirt.

>> Yeah, and it has this great

treated linen under it.

>> Oh, huh.

>> I just wanna keep it very,

very clean, you know?

And, like, there's definitely

little parts of me.

I don't like what he's chosen to

work with and I think it's just

kind of doomed.

>> So I began engaging with the

sculptures.

When you walk around the

sculpture, there's no one angle

that's the same.

>> So this is a simple cocktail.

Right now it's longer than it

will be.

>> The second one is a gown and

it's tied in the front and it

drapes in the back.

And so I'm doing one black,

one ivory, and one that's a

variation of rust.

>> Okay, they're beautiful.

And what is the shape of this

third piece?

>> It's a wrap, um, pant that--

>> Oh, you're doing a pant.

>> Yes.

>> Okay.

>> Well, because I feel that,

you know, there are already two

gowns and we were requested to--

>> We said range.

>> Exactly.

>> Anya is doing two dresses and

I think a pant and in terms of

range there should be at least

be one jacket in everyone's

three look collection.

>> Just keep your eye on all the

moving parts.

We don't have enough fabric to

re-cut them so what I'm gonna do

dress to try on to Bojana

because we decided at the last

minute to scrap the gown and

make a new cocktail dress which

i haven't gotten to yet.

The fact that she keeps changing

her mind makes me think that

she's not clear on her vision.

If you're not clear on your

eight, so when it's so close you

get so excited and so emotions

take over and I think that I was

just destined to be here and to

do this and the top three is

exactly where I belong.

The big issues are the sleeves.

They're just horrendous, so

there's a possibility that I may

I am upset that the fit is so

poor.

I would never, ever fit a

garment like that or send a

garment down that was like that.

This is the last challenge

Tonight we will decide who will

create collections and compete

at New York Fashion Week.

So we asked you to design three

cohesive looks that showed us

some range.

We sent you to Governors Island

to find some inspiration.

We gave you two days, $500, and

an assistant and we're very

excited to see what you've done.

Okay, let's meet the judges.

First we have CFDA lifetime

achievement award winner Michael

Kors.

>> Hey, guys.

Some of you will go to fashion

week, and one or more of you

will be out.

Okay, let's start the show.

>> With my first dress, which is

the cream with the netting, I

love it.

It's just a very beautiful yet

elegant dress.

I think the look came out

perfectly.

>> That's actually really hot.

>> My second look is my jacket

and my skirt and the studded

tank top.

It just looks so big.

It's not flattering.

But fake it till you make it.

I love my third look.

It's just really draped

beautifully.

I think, overall, I did a really

good job in tying these three

looks together.

And I firmly believe that my

concept will take me to fashion

week.

Turning heads.

>> The coat looks pretty good,

despite the things that have

went wrong.

I love the styling with the big

scarf, which is how I wear my

scarf over my coat during the

winter.

So I think it was great.

The separates look is beautiful.

I love the detail on the side of

the skirt.

It's different and unexpected.

And, of course, I love the slim

fitted top.

It just has a puckering issue

in the back, but other than

that, I wouldn't change a thing.

>> Sparkles.

>> It totally does.

>> I am most proud of the

cocktail dress.

Those are my strong suits.

I love dresses with a little

sparkle and glam to it.

It's me, and I love it.

I think the collection is

cohesive.

I think that the same girl will

wear all three looks.

So I'm pretty satisfied.

>> For my first look with the

cream blazer, I'm really happy.

I think it looks beautiful.

It's well-made, beautifully

pressed.

And I think this girl looks

pretty chic.

The second one is a full-flowing

cocktail dress that they could

absolutely love, or they could

be like, "I'm bored."

But I think the garment itself

looks lovely.

Oh, yeah, Meghan.

I really love my gown.

I think I'm using the latticing

in a really neat way, and really

working with it.

I'm proud of what I'm doing,

because I feel like I've pushed

myself.

I'm hoping that the judges see

the cohesion of my collection.

>> I'm thrilled with the black

dress.

It's very classic, very well

made.

I think it has impact.

I think it says something about

me, and I know that it's a

winner.

The rust piece that Karen is

wearing has potential, and I

think that it shows the judges

that I can produce garments that

have impact without using prints

and flowiness.

>> I love her red hair with

that.

>> The dress that Sveta's

wearing, I can see the problems.

But as a collection, I'm really

pleased.

I can just sense that I found

something in myself that I

didn't know was there, and it's

really exciting to me.

>> My mini collection is

cohesive.

It looked very, very good.

I love Erika.

She works that jacket so well.

Very rock and roll.

I'm very proud of the jacket.

I think the leather jacket looks

really, really cool.

Looks like it's ready to wear.

Yes.

>> Work.

>> I really like the second

look.

She looks stunning, she looks

edgy, and it looks pretty clean.

But it could use a little bit

more sharpness.

The last one, the black dress, I

love it.

It looks really elegant and

looks really good.

And it looks expensive.

Everything's just really, really

cool.

It's just a-mazing.

That's how we do.

Some of you will go to Fashion

Week, and one or more of you

will be out.

>> Joshua, tell us about your

inspiration and your looks.

>> Governors Island is actually

a former military base, and

there was a chapel and the

battery.

So it was this idea of, like,

fragility and strength so close

to one another.

And the shirt underneath is

definitely inspired by the doors

of the battery.

And it ties through into Carla's

dress with this--you know,

instead of using a delicate

mesh, I thought this idea of

using something a little harder.

And then with Sonja, I put her

in a very beautiful draped gown.

It's unique to who I am as a

designer, and it's definitely

something that I can bring to

Fashion Week.

>> You showed a huge amount of

diversity.

Maybe a little too much.

>> Okay.

>> Like the girl who would wear

this draped gown I don't think

would wear the rah-rah skirt.

And I know you're, like, sick of

us hearing about editing, but I

do think it's an issue for you.

You certainly don't lack for

ideas.

>> I really like the concept of

the white dress.

What you did with the back was

really beautiful.

And I really don't like the

gown.

To me, she just looks like the

Statue of Liberty.

>> I like the gown, but I think

the fabric just looks really

inexpensive.

>> Perhaps if you lined the

lurex, it would not look so

cheap.

>> Why were you so attracted to

this lurex?

'Cause it was nice and shiny?

>> Is that an assumption?

>> I'm asking--what was it?

>> It actually has a really

great feel to it, and it drapes

beautifully, and I like the

heaviness that it created.

>> I think you're a little bit

of, like, a magpie, where the

glitter and the shine is really

turning you on.

And the problem with the glitter

and the shine is, it can go

cheap really quickly.

Models, you can leave the

Kimberly.

>> So on Governors Island, they

had a lot of different

sculptures, and I was just

inspired by the structure of

them.

I wanted to do something that,

you know, I've never done

before, which was the coat, and

the top is the other side.

This has the texture and that

one does not.

And then for Bojana, basically,

we just did a cute little mini

and the brocade, and just kept

with the structure and sweepin

with the asymmetry.

>> I love the top and what you

did.

I think pairing it up with hot

pink shoes was really youthful

and sexy.

The coat, I happen to like the

fact that you tried something

different by putting the scarf

over the jacket.

All in all, um, wow.

You took risks.

>> The brocade dress, it is your

strongest piece.

The coat, this thing is like you

tried to tailor a coat out of an

orange paper towel.

It's like the souffle collapsed.

I think it's an odd color

palette to begin with.

It's kind of disco Halloween.

>> Also, I see three different

girls here too.

I see like a hot girl over here.

I see an exchange student from

Holland.

And then here, I see some crazy

girl partying in Las Vegas.

They don't really go together.

But I think the top of that

dress is beautiful.

I like the fabric.

Gives it a beautiful waist.

>> This actually looks

phenomenal, this dress.

But on this skirt, maybe just

leave it normal.

>> If it would have been normal,

then the problem would have been

that it would have been normal.

So I mean, it's six of one--

>> I don't really think so.

I don't think so.

Could have had a slit.

>> Well, I mean, it's just a

matter of opinion.

This has been a great

experience, and I've learned so

much, and I'm not upset by

anything that you guys are

saying, so...

Everything that you're saying, I

already knew about.

You know, the imperfections of

the tailoring and stuff like

that.

there seemed to be just this

repetition of circles.

And so I really just, you know,

ran with that.

My first, initial thing was this

gown.

Just something that's different

and really stands out.

Then I wanted to use it in a

different kind of way.

So I wanted to do this

structured blazer, and then with

this one, I wanted to show a

little bit more of a casual look

for me, and then just

incorporating the same black

throughout it.

But something that would be a

little bit more casual for my

kind of girl.

>> You seem very nervous today.

>> It's a nervous day!

I mean, yeah...I'm nervous.

I mean, I've dreamed of--

okay, don't get emotional.

Okay. Um, heh, I've...

I've dreamed of showing at New

York Fashion Week since I knew

what it was.

Um, I've been knowing I wanted

to be a designer since I was

eight.

Wait, okay, okay.

I'm good.

>> Okay, let's talk about your

outfits.

Complicated outfits.

I have one favorite one.

That is the gown.

This dress has a lot of

potential.

Now, this look over here, the

skirt, it looks like you did it

literally the last two minutes

before she walked out of here.

>> I kind of did.

>> Then there's this look.

It's quite a sweet dress.

It just doesn't really go with

those two.

>> Mm-hmm.

>> I really like the

latticework, and then that bold

piece of black.

With the second look, I'm not

too crazy about the silhouette

of that jacket.

And the third look comes from I

don't know where.

>> Okay.

>> It doesn't fit into this.

>> Zoe, what do you think?

>> From the ponytail to the

bangs and everything, there's an

'80s quality that I kind of dig.

It's like Addicted to Love.

The skirt for the second look

definitely looked like a slip.

With the third look, it just

looks like a pillowcase, and you

just tied, like, black tape

around it.

>> The gown, most certainly your

strongest piece.

Then we go in the middle...

And it's not even just the

skirt.

The jacket's very mom-ish

looking.

And then you turned the wheel.

She's literally in a laundry bag

or a pillowcase.

Like, to choke now and do this

dress is just a shame.

Anya.

>> On Governors Island, as you

probably know, there's an

installation of work by

Mark di Suvero, the sculptor.

It's very dynamic as you

interact with the shapes,

because every time you walk

around it, there's a different

angle.

So the looks are meant to sort

of give you a bit of a taste of

how clothes can do that.

One is a little bit more casual,

one is a cocktail dress, and one

is a gown, so...

Just to show variety.

>> Can you girls turn around,

all of you?

I think there's very different

angles on all these clothes.

They feel very modern.

I like how they have very

similar hair and makeup.

And it looks like a concise

collection.

>> The black dress is really

great.

It's very modern, very fashion

forward, and yet so simple.

And I like the white dress as

well, but not as perfect as the

black dress is.

It's a bit like a sheet.

>> I think it's sophisticated.

I think you are pushing

yourself.

You also knew how to dress each

of your models.

A redhead in this color, that

works.

The white gown, you need the

tallest of the girls.

It's a column.

I think you understand women's

bodies.

>> I like your cuts.

They're very asymmetrical.

Uh, gives it sort of like a

futuristic tone, and I'm such a

Sci-Fi buff, so I'm--

I'm all there.

My least favorite, I guess, was

the gown.

It looked a little bit like a

condom to me, just a tad.

But I love how you put it all

together.

Viktor.

>> Being in Governors Island, I

kind of was just looking around.

But, really, the tip of the

island kind of showed Manhattan,

and I really got attracted more

towards the city.

So I did a print to bring the

city-like type of buildings.

I really like the structure of

how the cowl goes on the side of

the hip.

And then the last one, I wanted

to make something just like a

simple, black dress, but has

structure, and just wanted to

make it very simple.

>> I'm amazed by what you can

do.

In terms of sewing, I think

you're probably one of the best

here.

In terms of ideas, I don't think

there are enough ideas in your

looks.

Me, personally, there's not one

piece here that I find really

like, "[gasps], I have to have

that."

>> I loved it.

I think the hair and makeup look

phenomenal.

I like the little touches of

orange.

You needed to maybe turn up the

volume a little bit.

Because this looks a little too

secretarial for my taste.

I would like to see just a

little more...Oomph.

>> I like the secretary look.

The draping of the skirt is what

helps it from it just looking

like a traditional, boring,

nine-to-five kind of uniform.

And the little black dress, I

have to say that the boning that

you used by--on the hip, I

really wasn't a fan of how it

just looked on the model.

And I would feel uncomfortable

to probably wear something like

that.

>> Okay, now I'm gonna use a

word that some people think it's

a dirty word in fashion.

You have the most commercial

collection here today.

These are the clothes that are

gonna sell.

These are the clothes that women

are gonna wear.

And they're polished, and

they're tailored, and, my God,

you could actually wear them to

work--wow.

I wouldn't mind the volume

turned up in general.

Because commercial and wearable,

great.

I just want to make sure there's

runway punch.

Models, you can leave the

Joshua, why should you go to

fashion week?

>> Because I think with the time

to really sit down and do my

research, really focus my

fabrics, I will bring something

really great to Fashion Week.

>> What other two designers do

you think should go with you?

>> I think my first choice would

be Viktor.

He's always bringing something

unique, and I have the utmost

respect for him.

For my second choice, I would

probably choose Anya to go to

Fashion Week.

I went to school for this, I'm

trained in this, but with Anya,

as the sewing is new, she's able

to be free, and I respect that

about her, because it's not so

static, you know?

It's not so stagnant.

Those are my two choices.

>> Kimberly.

>> I believe I should go to

Fashion Week because I'd like to

change the face of Fashion Week.

I would like to change the

perception of what "designer" is

supposed to be, where she's

supposed to come from, and I

think I have the goods for that.

>> And who would be the two

designers that you want to take

with you?

>> Anya, because she is also

very new to it, but she has

grown tremendously.

And I actually would like to

take Laura, because I think that

the three of us together will

show a different Fashion Week.

That's who I would want.

>> Anya.

>> Regardless of the wonderful

things that have been said about

how much I've grown, I know that

my point of view is very solid.

And I know that it is unique.

And, uh...

Sorry, I can't--

I don't mean to cry.

But it means a tremendous amount

to have gotten this far, to be

so close I can taste it.

And it feels amazing.

And, uh, I think Joshua, despite

his editing issues, is the

opposite of me.

He designs in a way that is very

singular.

And his ideas are solely his.

And, um, in terms of what can

sell, what can work, then it's

very obvious, um, I would choose

Viktor, because I really think

that his work, quite obviously,

has an audience already.

>> Laura.

>> I feel that I came to this

with a, um...strong set of

skills.

And my drive to be here and...

God. Ugh!

My longtime passion for this

industry I think would only

intensify the show you'd see.

The two designers would be

Viktor--I think that he does

make garments that are wearable,

and like Michael said, that's

one of the most important

things.

I mean, you can't sustain a

business without that.

And then the second person is

Anya, because she has a natural

knack for silhouettes, and for,

you know, pushing herself.

It's unbelievable.

So.

>> Viktor.

>> I think from--coming from a

family who is an immigrant

family, even me, uh, my mom

being a sample maker and working

for a designer, I really didn't

want to do that.

But eventually, it caught up to

me.

I definitely embraced it and I

love it so much now that I can't

live without it.

And, um, probably Josh, just

because he has good ideas.

I love his tailoring.

And my second choice, and this

is just on design, is Anya.

She has a lot of beautiful,

flowy designs.

I think she's an amazing

designer.

Let's start with Anya.

>> I mean, I think that black

dress today was-

Same shoe, perfect hair.

Her clothes were strong enough

that she didn't need to add

anything, you know?

want to have that "va-va" moment

when they're on stage.

And I feel that Anya possessed

both qualities.

taste.

She's a quick learner.

She's just very impressive.

>> She started with this great

look that was strictly tropical,

and now she's been able to

handle something urban and

architectural and very

sophisticated.

>> I have to say, she's been one

of my favorites from the

beginning.

And I would love to see her at

Fashion Week.

Viktor, I am super impressed

with his sewing skills, because,

really, everything looks like--

>> Oh, he beats the--he beats

the whole crowd, hands-down.

Those were the clothes that the

cash register will ring.

>> I think he's really evolved.

I think he's really listened.

I mean, if you remember his

casting rack, it was kind of

scary.

I was on the fence about him.

>> I think today's the most

conservative thing he's shown

us.

>> True, because he's usually

very fashion forward.

>> Normally, he's really out

there.

So today, he turned the volume

down, but we've seen him when he

turns the volume up.

>> No, he definitely has it.

He showed today that he can make

clothes for the mass.

>> Exactly.

>> He's a designer.

>> That white dress, I thought

it was very elegant and sort of

timeless--could have been '80s,

could have been futuristic,

could have been everything.
