[A Journey To Love]

[Episode 1]

After the end of the previous dynasty,

it has been chaotic in the recent century.

Northern Province has always been in conflict with the Central Plain.

Although the nine states of Central Plain have their own sides,

there has been endless disputes over the years.

Among them, are the State of An and the State of Wu.

Emperor of An is good at martial arts and greedy for money.

He has been colonizing countless cities in the neighboring countries in recent years.

The State of Wu is prosperous and the people are strong.

They are seen as a major enemy that Emperor of An wants.

In the six years of Yongyou,

Emperor of An started his army to seize the gold mine in west of Wu.

And the Emperor of Wu met them at the south of Tianmenguan to fight.

[Emperor of Wu Yang Xingyuan]

The wheel of destiny started from here.

[Emperor of An Li Zhun]

Charge!

Charge!

[Wu Capital Sun Shiyi Mansion]

Good!

-Good! -Good!

Everyone.

Wonderful.

With this wine,

[Sun Shiyi]

let's wish His Majesty a great victory

and defeat the An army.

He will definitely return in triumph.

Wish Your Majesty a great victory

and defeat the An army.

Good.

Everyone will be rewarded.

Go out later.

[Viscount Han]

My neck is not feeling well these days.

I'll give you a massage later.

Take a rest.

[Ling Long]

Go quickly.

[Ren Ruyi]

Let go!

Beauty,

don't be in a rush to serve Viscount Han.

Serve me first.

Ling Long.

How old are you?

You always mess things up.

I wonder

who chose you to join the Scarlet Guards.

I'm not cut out to be a spy.

If it weren't for you,

I'm afraid I would have been...

Even if you're afraid, you have to complete the mission first.

Otherwise, we'll all die.

There are 20 White Sparrows

from the State of An's Scarlet Guards planted in Wu capital.

Who knew Viscount Han would take a liking to you?

Tidy yourself up and go meet him.

You must make him head over heels for you

and have him take you home.

Whether the State of An's army

can win a big victory this time

would depend on whether you can steal

the grain map from his father's study.

What about him then?

Him?

Don't worry.

I have Xiaoyao pill.

When he wakes up,

he will only remember that he was drunk

and had a wet dream.

After that,

he will not be a man anymore.

Viscount.

You smell

so good.

No.

You can't do this here.

Viscount...

I...

I don't want to stay in the shabby house of the Imperial Music Department anymore.

After the banquet,

can you bring me back to your home?

Sure.

After the banquet,

I'll take you home

and take you as my concubine.

Thank you, Viscount.

Dance.

♫Travel thousands of miles to the battlefield♫

Commandant Zhao of Liudao Hall is here!

Liudao Hall's officer?

Mr. Zhao.

[Zhao Ji, Master of Six Daoists of Wu State]

[Liudao Hall cavalry Lou Qingqiang]

Mr. Zhao.

Welcome.

Sorry for not welcoming you at the door.

You're standing on ceremony.

Since I received

the invitation to your birthday banquet,

how can I not come?

Please, Sir.

Play the music.

Dance.

♫Travel thousands of miles to the battlefield♫

♫Travel across Mountain Guan like flying♫

♫The cold air in the north transmits the sound of night shifts♫

♫The cold light shines on the metal armor♫

How dare you!

Sir. What was that for?

The next sentence in this song is that the general died in the hundred battles.

His Majesty is now the general himself

and led the army to the State of An.

How dare you harbor evil intentions

and curse His Majesty?

You deserve to die.

Please don't be angry, Sir.

Please don't be angry, Sir.

I dare not have such intentions.

We dare not have such intentions.

Looks like Mr. Zhao is eyeing the birthday gifts.

I was foolish.

I was careless.

I'm afraid I've also let the State of An's spy sneaked into the mansion.

Lord,

I'm afraid there are things that would frame me

in these gifts.

Please bring them all back for investigation.

Sit down.

Thank you, lord.

Viscount.

Zhao Ji of Liudao Hall is so undecent.

It's his birthday.

He's asking for money openly, isn't he?

If you want to die,

you can speak louder.

Do you think Liudao Hall now

is still as when Ning Yuanzhou was the head of it?

You must've forgotten

how Assistant Minister Zhou died last month?

You're right.

My lord.

In this case,

I should be cleared

of my suspicions right?

You only have the bribes sent by spies

but there are no spies?

You're right, lord.

They

are all spies.

Take them away and kill them immediately.

I will help Shiyi Mansion get rid of another worry.

Yes, lord.

Guards!

Please spare my life.

Please spare us!

Please spare us.

Get up.

Please spare us.

Please spare us.

-Get up. -Lord.

Hurry up. Get up.

Please spare us.

-We are innocent! -Viscount.

-Viscount, save me. -Please spare my life.

-Hurry! -We are innocent!

Go!

-Viscount! -Quick!

Save me, Viscount!

Go.

Go.

Hurry!

Hurry up. Go.

Go quickly!

Hurry up!

Go!

[Liudao Hall Cavalry Xu Jun]

Lord.

Please spare me.

I'm innocent.

Beauty,

I know you are wronged.

But who told you to be here when

Mr. Zhao has no money to spend recently/

Kneel facing the pond!

Kneel!

Kneel! Hurry!

What should we do?

Don't be afraid.

Follow me and play it by ear.

Wait, my lord.

I still have a pearl on me.

I'm willing to give it to you.

I just want a complete corpse.

She knows martial arts.

Wait, don't kill her first.

Judging from her moves,

she looks like a Scarlet Guard from the State of An.

Be careful.

Ruyi.

No!

Ruyi!

No, Ruyi.

Only the dead can keep the secret.

When you entered White Sparrows,

didn't the bird tamer teach you that?

But...

After all, we know each other.

Who are you?

Why are you so powerful?

Don't you want freedom?

This is the best chance.

The branch doesn't know

that we are not among the dead.

But we White Sparrows

must take the antidote every half a year to survive.

If we run away now–

The poison is not worth mentioning.

As long as we take 25 grams of rhubarb

when the poison is weakest the day before

the poison takes place, and vomit three times,

the poison will be removed.

Really?

Believe it or not. It's up to you.

How do you know so much?

With your skills, you can even be a Purple Emissaries.

Why are you a White Sparrow like me?

I'm such a fool.

I always treated you

as a weak woman who knows nothing.

I'm nobody.

I'm just a ghost.

Are you coming with me now?

No.

I have to go back to the branch.

Yu Lang is still there.

I can't go alone.

Why did you become a White Sparrow?

To repay the debt.

My brother was sick.

My mother had to sell me.

Your brother is the one who is sick.

Why is your mother selling you?

Is your life not a life?

Ten years ago, for a man,

your family sold you.

Ten years later, you're going to get yourself killed again

for another man.

Is it worth it?

Yes.

Yulang and I...

Ruyi.

You'll be an aunt soon.

Go back then.

Remember to tell the head of the branch

I've died in Liudao Hall.

According to the rules,

after a White Sparrow's death,

the family who was held hostage will be free.

Take it.

It's pure gold.

Take care.

Wait.

Tomorrow at 6 o'clock,

at Xiyuan Lane's entrance,

I will bring Han family's grain map over.

I never owe anyone anything.

I'll make up for your mistake.

You help me make sure my family goes home safely.

No, Ruyi!

No! Ruyi!

Only the dead can keep the secret.

When you entered White Sparrows,

didn't the bird tamer teach you that?

But...

we're friends after all.

Louder.

An urgent report from the palace.

Five days ago,

our army was defeated by the An army at Tianmenguan.

Say that again?

Our army was defeated by the An army at Tianmenguan.

We lost Xu, Cai and Jing, these three cities.

Your Majesty.

His Majesty is in a difficult situation too.

Nonsense!

The Jingyang bell has been rung.

This is Prince Danyang, the supervisor of the state,

summoning officials to attend the court meeting.

To Prime Minister Zhang's mansion.

[Five days ago Tianmenguan]

Is there anyone alive?

Is there anyone alive?

Is there anyone?

Keep quiet.

Don't attract the people who are cleaning up the battlefield from the State of An.

[Ningyuan Boat]

Ning Yuanzhou?

The cavalry of Longxiang Cavalry?

You're still alive?

General Xiao, you have a good memory.

Ning Yuanzhou!

Were you pretending to be dead?

Lower your voice.

There seems to be noise over there.

I really heard someone talking.

There must be someone alive.

Check it.

Yes!

See if there are any living people ahead.

Yes!

I wanted to hide in the army and sneak out of the capital.

Who knew, I couldn't get a second of peace.

Ning Yuanzhou.

You are so good.

Why would you want to be a military chef?

I'm lazy.

Let's go.

Where are you going?

I'm already dead.

Ning Yuanzhou, you can't leave.

Soldiers of Wu can't be deserters.

Go back with me now.

Let's gather the rest of us to work together.

And then... What are you doing?

His Majesty has been captured.

How dare you!

Fine.

Here.

Look here.

This arrow came from behind.

Do you understand?

An people are trying to kill us.

But before the war, His Majesty believed slanders and underestimated the enemy.

The formation was in chaos during the war. There was no order.

It was also killing us.

General Xiao.

If you want to be loyal,

that's your choice.

But I don't want to play anymore.

I don't owe Wu anything.

Ning Yuanzhou, listen to me.

Just kidding.

Never see you again.

[Soma Arrival]

Lean the window and rain and run

Hold the sorrow of the world

Over the clouds, in the wind and the moon, I love to stay.

Let's welcome the spring breeze

Thousands of sorrows have watered my throat

[Wudu Palace]

The late emperor passed away.

An State's army is at the border.

[Five days after Emperor Wu was captured]

It comes from power.

The country can't live without a ruler.

[Grand Secretary Zhang Yao]

Before the late emperor left,

he had personally appointed that Prince Danyang will supervise the country.

[King Danyang of Wu, Yang Xingjian]

Therefore, Prince Danyang should ascend the throne immediately

to ensure peace in the world.

I agree.

I agree.

It concerns the throne.

How can we be hasty?

The Emperor's death is just a rumor.

There is no evidence.

How could you...

Your Highness,

what do you think?

Since the late emperor is in trouble...

His Majesty is safe.

Who dares to call him the late emperor?

[Empress Wu Xiao Yan]

Your Majesty.

What do you mean, Your Majesty?

Long live Your Majesty!

My cousin Xiao Ming

went on this expedition with His Majesty too.

I just received a secret letter.

In the letter it said, although His Majesty lost,

his is still alive.

He's currently staying in the An army as a guest.

Not only that,

I am pregnant now.

According to the imperial physicians,

there's a 90% chance that it's a boy.

Prince Danyang.

When you were studying in the Imperial Study with His Majesty,

the late emperor personally taught you.

Now, you two are practically brothers.

You haven't forgotten, have you?

Now His Majesty is in trouble.

As an example of the royal family,

could you, Brother Danyang, help His Majesty

and the prince in my womb

to watch this throne.

I will be cautious

and not let what His Majesty asked me of when he left the capital.

However,

how do you know

you're definitely carrying a prince?

When the country is in danger,

the Empress is pregnant.

It's great news for our country.

In my opinion,

it's better to keep the status quo

and have Prince Danyang as the supervisor.

After the Empress gives birth,

we will decide on the country's leader based on the child's gender.

Please help the people,

Your Majesty.

We agree.

I've heard about what happened at the court meeting just now.

Prince Danyang is in power now.

It's hard to control him.

Fortunately, the Empress is pregnant.

Even if she can't give birth to a prince,

as long as you give the order,

I can get one too.

There's no way Prince Danyang

can be more obedient than a kid.

Wait.

His Majesty has fallen.

Why is the news from General Xiao?

Yet Liudao Hall's Heaven Path that protects His Majesty

has sent no news at all.

This...

The scout from Animal Path

hasn't sent any news for days.

He must be slacking off.

I will go–

Hasn't sent any news yet?

The Animal Path's news

are reported every other day.

You've taken over Liudao Hall for so long,

yet you still haven't figured that out?

I'm incompetent.

No wonder

people are complaining about Liudao Hall.

I was so stupid

to abolish Ning Yuanzhou and promote you

to Liudao Hall.

I've been sick for so long.

I have to see

what you have done

my Liudao Hall?

[Wudu Six Hall]

[Six Hall rules]

Tell me.

where does the Liudao Hall stand in

Wu State's court?

Yes.

Liudao Hall was founded by Taizu.

It specializes in detective work.

There are six paths in the hall.

[Heaven]

The Heaven Path

is in charge of royal security.

[Human]

Human Path

monitors all officials.

Asura Path

does work on prostitution.

[Luo]

These three paths are called Three Virtue Paths.

They are called the calvaries.

The remaining three paths are called the Three Evil Paths.

They are named as scouts.

Hungry Ghost Path

[The Way of Aguis]

is good at making traps.

Animal Path

specializes in spying.

Hell Path

is famous for assassination.

[Prison]

Hell Path has long been changed to Palace of Hell

which analyzes various information by Ning Yuanzhou.

What assassination are you talking about?

I see.

The past Liudao Hall heads

are mostly from the noble Three Virtue Paths.

And you're from the Human Path.

You've been a cavalry for generations.

You thought you'd have a chance to become the head

after Old Chief Song passed on.

But you didn't expect

he promoted Ning Yuanzhou

from Three Evil Paths's Hell Path.

Of course you hate him.

Am I right?

No.

I remember Ning Yuanzhou

arranged for Animal Path to be planted in various states

and set up 108 secret reports points.

But now,

why are there so few pigeons?

They all flew out.

Is that so?

Ning Yuanzhou has also reformed the Hell Path.

The priests who were supposed to retire due to injuries would come to Palace of Hell

to analyze and summarize the secret reports

to all departments.

But now,

Where are the secret reports? Where are the memorandums?

I...

I...

After you took charge,

you destroyed them all.

All of them?

Ruining our own ears and eyes.

No wonder His Majesty lost such a miserable battle.

I was wrong.

Uncle. Shut up!

You're just a concubine's nephew.

You don't deserve to call me that.

Listen carefully.

If it weren't for your aunt,

I would have killed you.

Go to the prison

and bring out Ning Yuanzhou.

I'm going to send him to the State of An.

To the State of An.

The State of An?

I want him to see

if His Majesty is still alive.

Didn't Ning Yuanzhou stake out in the State of An before?

I want him to get the emperor

before Prince Danyang

and pass the edict to pass the throne to the baby in Her Majesty's womb.

But Ning Yuanzhou went to the battlefield with His Majesty this time.

And His Majesty...

I'm afraid we won't be able to

f-find Ning Yuanzhou in a short time.

What?

You can't find him?

Lord.

Not just exiling him.

You wanted to kill him?

You...

Bring Ning Yuanzhou to see me in seven days.

Otherwise,

I'll ask your aunt to pay tribute to you next Qingming Festival.

Yes.

Lord.

What should we do?

Within seven days,

find Ning Yuanzhou.

But

isn't he already dead at the...

What if he isn't?

He’d come home if he’s alive.

Ask Xu Jun to find him.

My lord. Xu Jun...

is dead.

What?

The bodies of the four people under Xu Jun

were found in the backyard of the Shiyi Mansion.

I think something went wrong

when he was dealing with the dancers.

I've checked.

Among those dancers,

are probably some Scarlet Guards.

Scarlet Guards who can be a dancer

can only be the lowest ranked White Sparrows.

Since when did the White Sparrows have such masters?

-Lord. -Let Mr. Yue take action in advance.

Prime Minister Zhang is still angry.

If we can't find Ning Yuanzhou,

we can only use this achievement

to make it up for it.

Yes.

[Wudu Xiyuan Lane]

Why isn’t Ling Long here yet?

Did something happen at the branch?

I have to go back to the branch.

Yu Lang is still there.

I can't go alone.

[Qingshi Alley]

[Wudu Zhu Yi Guards Branch]

Check over there.

Search carefully.

Yes.

You guys go over there.

Yes, Sir.

Search carefully.

Yes.

Don't worry, lord.

It's just a cat fight.

Mr. Yue.

Are all the Scarlet Guards from Wu Capital Branch

here?

They are all here.

Yesterday, the Wu Capital Branch

received a report from Shiyi Mansion that White Sparrows were found.

All the people here have been transferred to

Wu Capital Branch to gather.

No one is missing.

47 lives in total.

For only 3,000 gold pieces.

It's a bargain for you.

Not one is missing?

But I don't believe

White Sparrows who only care about finding out information through seduction

can kill four of my capable subordinates.

Are you questioning me, Mr. Zhao?

I just want to avenge my dead brothers.

A spy's corpse

will never have a ghost.

Even so,

my brother

can't die in vain.

Mr. Yue,

please make it clear.

Except the people from the Wu Capital Branch,

have you ever sent

sent any other masters here?

No.

Our deal is done.

Where is the money?

Who is this Mr. Yue

from the Scarlet Guards?

He's a ruthless man.

47 colleagues died on the spot.

They didn't even blink.

They are just some

lowly White Sparrow Scarlet Guards.

Someone will fill it in when they die.

Did you interrogate that White Sparrow

called Ling Long?

Yes.

She only admitted to it after

I broke all her bones.

Her intimate lover

died with her?

How could it be?

He's Mr. Yue's trusted aide.

Mr. Yue only took him away.

But I still think

she can't do such a big thing alone.

Search this place again.

Search the city strictly these days.

If there is really an escaped Scarlet Guard,

they will try their best to get out of the city.

You must stop her.

Yes.

Burn it.

Hurry up!

-Yes! -Yes!

Hurry up.

Hurry up!

It's poisonous.

Let's go.

Let's go.
