I just recently finished
my degree at USC,

and so I was
in a transitional period

where I was either preparing
to start pursuing

physician assistant school,

or I was gonna try
to pursue music again.

I was taking classes
at Pasadena Community College

to try and fulfill
my prereq.

I've been working in
a restaurant, going to school.

* ...when you're drinking *
People in small towns,

we dream about
these opportunities,

and I can't believe that
I'm living my dream right now.

Camryn, the one thing
that I'm noticing,

I'm not seeing enough expression
from your face, right?

you're focusing on the singing

and you're just kind of blank.

a super quick growth spurt.

When I went to the doctor, they
were like, "You have scoliosis."

I had a 75% curvature
in my spine.

Soon after, I had surgery and
I grew two inches in five hours.

To be sitting here
at "The Voice" is unbelievable.

Like, I don't think I could
even dream this up in my head.

we sang, literally, from like

singing in a group is easier,

but it's a lot harder
because it's all about

blending together as a unit.
And for battles,

fitting in Katie at the same
time was really difficult.

Because we already have pretty
good dynamics as a trio,

but then you're adding
that fourth person in.

You've got to also sort of learn
how to sing with them, too.

I actually brought
my own recording equipment,

so it's been
really helpful

because I'm able to send
us each practice tracks

for us to listen, so
when we come together,

it still sounds the exact same.

Is there somebody
in your life

that can bring truth
to this story for you?

There is a part of my life
that does, like, connect to it,

of losing my dad.

My dad passed away in 2017
from liver cancer.

The lyrics
that really connect with me are

After seeing my dad pass,
I'm like, wow,

my mom is like
the strongest woman ever.

She has always been
the calm in the storm,

and I think that I've tried
to take a lot of that from her.

I'm living with my mom
at an RV resort in Jacksonville.

This RV resort is
actually the first place

that I ever played
my acoustic set.

This was the first gig
I ever had, on the stage.

My mom definitely
did install independence in me

to be my own hero.

Cameron, the bridge
of this song is very powerful

and you're killing it
on the bridge.

I would say, as much
as possible, live these words.
