Time is a curious construct.

We do not even notice it exists until we start running out.

My name is Raymond Forrester.

Professor of psychology,

University of California, Los Angeles.

This is case file 0 0 0 1.

It is March 1st, 2017.

I have dosed and ingested, a sugar cube,

four times the maximum recommended dose of LSD.

I have loaded a 38 caliber revolver with a single...

round.

In 45 minutes, I will place the barrel of the revolver against the temple of my head

and pull the trigger ending this particular life.

If I have timed things properly,

the bullet will pass through my brain at approximately

the moment of maximum initial,

physiological and psychological impact.

And this will produce

the desired effect.

This case begins on Christmas day, 1960.

All the instructions.

I received a package in the mail from a colleague

and friend of mine, Dr. Timothy Leery.

Contained in the package was a letter.

The letter detailed precise instructions for what I was

to do with the balance of the contents of the box,

which included three sugar cubes an eyedropper,

a vial of clear fluid, which later proved to be LSD

and the "Tibetan Book of the Dead."

Fortunately, I did not follow Dr. Leery's instructions.

Instead, I took a student of mine to the Albatross Hotel

on the beach in Malibu, California

at 21152 Pacific Coast Highway.

It was a New Year's Eve party that night. She wanted to attend.

I convinced Dorothy to ingest the LSD with me in our room.

We then joined the party, which was in full swing.

And this is what happened next.
