Patience.
Any. Any room would be small. Room. Yes.
Right now, the reservation system says
fully booked. I cannot delete anything
until the client sends us the official
notice of cancellation. No, I don't
understand.
I'm okay. I'm fine. Thank you. Is
everything okay, sir? Can I be of any
assistance? You can come to my room.
Next one, please.
I don't think that's a very good idea.
Well, there's no use waiting alone around
here. If we could hang out together until
they find your room. I'm not like that.
Like what?
Listen, I. I had a really nice time last
night.
This might sound stupid, but I felt as if
we talked. No, like really had a good
conversation. Even though we didn't say a
thing. We have time until
the ash cloud is gone and then we won't
see each other again.
Do you know if the WI fi in your room
works any better than here?
Listen, I'm sorry for taking off like that
this morning. That's okay. And then that
language thing. You know, sometimes when
you're tired and someone comes to talk,
it's easier to pretend, you know. No, it
was actually kind of interesting.
So here we are again.
Yep.
I'm sorry, would you like, I don't know,
water or something? No, thank you. Okay.
Well, I just.
Has been canceled due to a false major
closure of airspace. Update will follow.
Sure. They'll have a room in a couple of
hours. Sure. You don't have to go if you
don't want to. Thanks. There's plenty of
room here too. I mean, I could sleep on
the couch if you like or. No need to
bother. Thank you. Right. Okay.
So I'll take a shower then. I need to go
out to do some work stuff. But feel free
to stay here. Okay. Thank you.
Would you like to join me?
Sorry,
no, no, no. Not like now. I. I meant out
later. No, I have plenty of work to do
here. Thank you. Sure. Feel free.
It's creating travel chaos in Europe to
booking flights to and from the U.S. nBC.
Tom. As in London this morning with more
on this story. Tom, good morning. Good
morning. Well, British aviation
authorities have just announced that there
will be abandoned flights in and out of
Britain until at least one o'clock in the
morning. All across Europe, airports have
canceled flights and closed for operations
in Scandinavia, the Baltic countries, the
Netherlands, across northern Germany, in
France, high down as far as northern
Italy. You know, 16,000 flights in Europe
have been canceled out of it. Total about
28,000. That's 2/3 of airplanes
grounded or turned away from European
airspace. Now it's causing travel chaos
across hotels,
railway stations crowded in major cities
across Europe as we don't try any needs of
getting to their estimation. Eurostar
alone 30,000 passengers a day between
Paris and Brussels. And Landsc. We have
even hearing stories of people taking
taxis across borders, across countries to
get to their destinations by the enemy.
Now, may I please.
Look, we just have to.
Oh, I pick up slot on.
Thanks.
What do you do, Bottle your
job? What do you do? I'm an architect.
Architect, okay. I'm kind of into
architecture. Like Alvar, Alta and Gaudi.
You know, we only redesign one of the
waiting areas at the Vilnius airport right
now. Oh, okay. Well, that must be exciting
too. Not really, no. I want to hear. Tell
them more. We've already agreed on the
structural changes and spatial solutions,
but I'm waiting to get the client's
approval for the waiting areas. It's this
sort of new kind of maybe bitch, radical
design idea. We go for that.
It's not all that interesting, you know?
Try me.
Okay. What is?
Traveling? Well,
moving, going to places, seeing new
things. Yes,
but. No, it's not just that.
What then? Traveling is waiting.
Think about it. When you travel, you have
to wait all the time. So how you wait,
it's a big part of your travel experience,
right? When you come to the gate at the
airport and see that there's others
waiting there already, how do you choose
where to sit? So that there's a room
around me? Exactly. People always leave
at least one seat free between them. And
places like this, see, no one sits side by
side. Something wrong with that?
Well, then there's not enough room for
everyone to sit. So people still
standing around get in the way. And nobody
likes to stand, especially if there's a
delay. But the solution could be,
for example, a space like this.
Hmm.
Sorry.
Hey, I'm leaving right now. But the guys
are waiting. We're downstairs. Five
minutes. See you in a minute.
Sorry,
you were saying?
This is LAX Terminal 4.
It gives people the choice to communicate
or keep to themselves. How come?
Study shows that with this sort of a
design, people would have more contact to
each other than spaces that force them to
be in uncomfortably close contact. And
that's what we are suggesting to the
client. So you help people
connect. A bit too.
Romantic idea,
