(male narrator) Autumn in Jellystone park
is a beautiful time of the year.
The vacationists have left its wooded glades
leaving their leftovers.
The hunters are gone. We hope.
But they are all missed.
Oh, well, if winter comes, can spring be far behind?
Which, smoothly translated
means vacationists with their hot dogs
peanut brittle and frozen pizza pies.
Hello. What's this?
'Our kindly ranger has left his door open.'
'Which could be interpreted'
as meaning, "Welcome, Yogi Bear."
I better check all the doors
starting with the refrigerator door.
Hmm, looks like I got here just in time
to protect these eating-type goodies.
chomp chomp chomp
Now, what do I see? A TV.
That's for me.
[laughs]
Maybe my favorite program is on.
Huckleberry Hound!
I will find the channel in the paper.
What's this?
'"Chicago Bears battle Giants Sunday.'
Meat on the table."
Giants pickin' on us poor little bears.
Ah, this is the time for all bears to fight
or become bear rugs together.
My first step is transportation.
'And there's my vehicle gassin' up.'
'"Illinois." That's what it says.'
thud
(Yogi) 'Wyoming.'
'Nebraska.'
'Iowa.'
'Illinois. And Chicago, next stop.'
- Ah, pardon me, city ranger. - Yeah?
Where are the bears battlin' the Giants?
- Three blocks south. - I'm on my way to the rescue.
Crazy bear.
[gulps] Did I say bear?
(Yogi) '"Chicago Bears battle Giants today."'
I just got here in time.
Hmm, looks like some of our boys have already bit the dust.
Ticket? I don't need no ticket. I'm a bear.
Dolly? Joe. Send another guy here.
I'm not feeling so good.
"Bears dressing rooms." I'll cheer 'em up.
And hello-hello to you, fellow bear buddies.
Never fear, for Yogi's here.
We'll show those Giants we bears have got what it takes.
Are we mice? Or are we bears?
I want you bears to get out now
a-a-and fight-fight-fight-fight-fight.
Who is he, coach?
The front office said they were sendin' down a mascot.
I guess we're stuck with him.
In this championship game
between the Giants and the Bears
the Giants are on the field.
'And here come the Bears.'
[crowd cheering]
'A great team, always giving their best.'
'And what's this?'
'Well, how about that? A real bear mascot.'
[laughs] Is all I can say.
(male commentator) 'What showman.'
'The Bears haven't let us down yet.'
[laughs] The crowd loves it.
Hey, what's he doing?
'Looks like.. And he is.'
'He's-he's running right across the entire Giant team.'
[laughs] 'What a pre-game show.'
'And to top it..'
(male commentator) '...he just took a funny fall.'
And now, believe it or not, the coach is in the act.
'He's making believe he's mad at the mascot'
'and chasing him off the field.'
And now we're ready to start.
'The mascot is on the bench.'
'And here's the kick-off.'
thump
(male commentator) 'A high, end-over-end kick.'
'The Giants are down fast under the ball.'
'The protection forms in front of the Bear ball carrier.'
'And, wow!'
rumble
What bone-crushing, good, clean, hard tackles!
Number 18 is coming off the field.
Forty-two, get in there.
[growls]
Ah, what dumb stragedy.
What nincompoop is in charge of the bears?
[laughs] Excuse me, sir.
And that's been the pattern of the game.
A rough tough bruising battle.
Seventy-three, seventy-eight, get in there.
(male commentator) 'The Giants' bonded power is working today.'
'But it keeps running into the Bears' famous'
'stonewall defense.'
crash
Okay, 97, get in there.
[instrumental music]
I forgot. I traded 97 last week.
The Bears haven't anyone to put in.
'But wait. What's this?'
'The coach is sending in the mascot.'
You know who, to the rescue.
This is another football first.
Wherever you are, if you're watching
'you're seeing history in the making.'
They're bringing a mike over to the bear.
'He's going to say something.'
Hello to all my friends watching TV.
And a yoo-hoo to you, Boo-Boo.
Yogi!
Get the copter, quick!
The Bears are going to try a field goal.
'The mascot is holding the ball.'
'Here comes the kicker.'
wham
Somebody boo-booed.
(male commentator) 'And now the Giants'
'will try for a field goal.'
'The mascot is trying to block the kick.'
thump
thud
(male commentator) 'And he blocked it.'
'The Giants are trying a long, long, long pass.'
'The bear is out in the open.'
All mine. All mine!
He intercepted it. There's no one near him.
'But wait, a helicopter has moved in on the field.'
Uh-oh. It's the ranger.
(male commentator) 'And it's escorting the bear down the field.'
Oh, what showmen these Bears are!
[copter whirring]
(male commentator) 'It's a touchdown! The Bears win!'
But the mascot hasn't stopped. He's running for the exit.
'With the copter right after him.'
One thing for sure.
This is the longest touchdown run of all-time.
[laughs]
