I know what's going on!

From when Wen Jing and Hua Muyao met at Shizi Street until the small courtyard in the suburbs

to the final ransom payment, I went through it all.

Everything that's happened, I could have done on my own.

Did I draw them wrong?

That's rare to see. The little master who can create something out of nothing can even lose confidence at times?

You're... someone who can draw a person based on their skull.

But it's all right.

It's easy to know a person's face, but not the heart. It's normal not to be able to draw it.

Drawing bones...

Brother Duan and Wen Jing's skulls are the same.

Then, that means

they're the same person?

Maybe not just those two.

Sketch artist, when can I leave?

Soon. It's almost done.

We've found the suspects. Can you identify them?

This is Wen Jing according to Hua Muyao.

This is Brother Duan that you described.

There's one more person.

Do you recognize this person?

This... is this me, right?

You're right.

These three people all have the exact same skull structure.

What do you mean?

I don't understand.

It's not intuitive to look at it in one dimension.

Look at it in three dimensions.

This sculpture is Brother Duan's face.

This is your face.

Wen Jing and Brother Duan

are all your disguises.

How's that possible?

Who could be two completely different people?

And not be recognized by others?

We've searched your house before.

We found konjac and pig trotters in your fridge.

Konjac is extremely gelatinous.

After being treated with alkali, it can be shaped into a kind of elastic gel.

When it's boiled with pig trotters,

it'll feel and look like real human skin.

As long as it's boiled until it's thick enough, it can maintain the original skin color of the animal.

These are all just your guesses.

You can say the sculpture looks like whomever, and it is?

Also, can you really draw that accurately?

This is the sketch I drew of Brother Duan according to your description.

How's that related to me?

It's related.

Your signature is even on it, confirming it.

[Confirmation this is Brother Duan, Chen Mingfeng]

- That's not evidence. - You're wrong.

This is important evidence.

We discovered that Wen Jing's handwritten love letters to Hua Muyao

and Chen Tingfei's signature are very similar.

This is the information we obtained from investigating Chen Tingfei.

This Chen Tingfei has changed his name before.

Just before college admissions testing.

He changed it to Chen Mingfeng. Then four years later changed it back.

Chen Tingfei took your identity to attend college.

However, you write well.

In order to not be found out, he spent a lot of time learning your penmanship.

So his penmanship...

is similar to Wen Jing.

This is your signature on your prior statement.

You already planned everything early on, starting from the handwriting.

To make yours look ugly.

To make it difficult to differentiate between Wen Jing and Chen Ming Feng.

There are a few critical areas in handwriting.

The order of strokes, vigor of strokes, and the pressure point.

We all write differently.

Look here. Wen Jing and Chen Tingfei's handwriting

looks like it was written by one person.

But their order of strokes and vigor of strokes are different.

Wen Jing is used to writing one side of a character than the other. Chen Tingfei is the complete opposite.

What about Chen Mingfeng?

Chen Mingfeng and Wen Jing's handwriting,

the order of strokes and pressure points are actually the same.

That's to say, from the assessment of their handwriting,

Chen Mingfeng and Wen Jing could be the same person.

While Wen Jing and Chen Tingfei

are not the same person.

Not only did you pretend to be Wen Jing,

but you also pretended to be Brother Duan.

Then used Brother Duan's phone to stay in contact with someone.

To make people think Wen Jing and Brother Duan were two different people.

Brother Duan...

is your other persona.

From beginning to end, there was only you.

But the love letters you wrote to Hua Muyao...

used good handwriting.

Because in your heart, Wen Jing,

who wrote well,

was a refined and handsome man.

It's what you should've been.

Right?

Yes, these three people are all me.

Everything you said was right.

I have another question.

How did you find out Chen Tingfei used your name to attend college?

I have a document and printing shop,

I look at various people's documents every day.

Birth. School. Graduation.

[Graduation Certificate]

Marriage, divorce,

and even death. [Preparing documents...]

Those papers

determine a person's worth...

and path in life.

[Graduation Certificate]

[College Diploma]

[Marriage Ceritificate]

You also graduated from Furong High School?

Hurry and make the copies.

[Graduate Certificate] [Student Chen Mingfeng, Male, born April 1, 1992...]

[Studied at Furong High School from September 2007 to June 2010]

[CFA Certificate of Qualification in Commodities Trading]

[CFA Certificate of Qualification in Commodities Trading]

[College Diploma. Bachelor degree]

[Certificate of Study in Financial Management]

Hello, Chief, okay, okay. Rest assured.

Okay, okay.

I'm so sorry.

Sorry. He has an impatient personality. Don't mind him.

- How much will it be? - 12 yuan

Okay.

I've paid. You can check.

Thank you.

[High School Graduation Certificate]

Testing into college...

to learn financial management was one of my dreams.

I was only a low-level clerk in the first year,

making Y6,000 a month.

The second year,

I was promoted to be a manager.

There was even a bonus at the end of the year.

After five years,

I saved enough money

and bought my first house.

After ten years...

That three million yuan

was to make up for my lifetime. I've calculated it.

It's not a lot.

Since the person who pretended to be you was Chen Tingfei,

why did you go after Hua Muyao?

Because I found out later that

Hua Muyao's father, that virtuous Principal Hua, was the culprit behind the scenes.

So I decided to set my goal on the most important person in their lives.

With what I had on Principal Hua's illegal activities,

I threatened him when I demanded the ransom.

If he called the police,

I would make sure he not only lost his daughter,

but also ruin his reputation.

One person pretending to be three.

You almost had us.

Actually, in your eyes,

I never existed to begin with.

From our investigation and his own confession,

he's the one who pretended to be Wen Jing, Chen Mingfeng.

That's not possible.

It's not him.

It can't possibly be him.

The case is clear.

Hua Muyao couldn't have not recognized him.

Unless she still feels something for Chen Mingfeng and isn't willing to admit it.

There's one more possibility.

She can't accept that the person she fell in love with

isn't her knight in shining armor,

but an ordinary criminal.

So gloomy.

[Lemon Heart Psychological Clinic]

Take a look.

There have been quite a few cases of child kidnapping in our jurisdiction.

They should be committed by the same bunch of people. I want you all to investigate.

Also, the prosecutor's office needs additional information for the Chen Mingfeng kidnapping case.

Compile the documents and send them over quickly.

Okay, got it. I'll do it right away.

Always dragging your feet to finish the follow-up on a case.

Do you all want me to deduct your pay?

- Deduct mine. Don't deduct theirs. - Showing off your wealth?

I wouldn't dare, wouldn't dare.

You need Shen Yi for this one.

Hello, the subscriber's phone is currently powered off.

I heard you can draw a three-year-old into an older person.

You still can't do it?

This isn't strange. Similar cases have occurred before.

When a person is near death, the cranial nerves can re-activate

some latent ability due to external stimulation.

After some time, forgotten people and memories

will return.

These aren't hallucinations.

They're the images reconstructed from the fragments in the deep recesses of the memory.

Since they're reconstructed,

how come I still can't remember?

Because that was an occurrence in an abnormal state.

Your drowning experience from seven years ago caused you to have retrograde amnesia.

It's already impressive you can remember so much.

[Lemon Heart Psychological Clinic]

[No. 268, Xinguang Road, Beijiang District, Beijiang City]

Dr. Feng, has our coworker, Shen Yi, been coming here for psychological treatment?

His psychological assessment didn't show any major issues.

It's just that...

he seems to have forgotten someone.

A woman.

To draw something like this is also an expression of a patient's mood.

Through these drawings,

I can get a feel for what he's going through inside.

I think you can see it, too.

He seems to be trying hard to remember this woman.

He came here three times. After repeated tries,

he still can't get through the shadow of the water.

Could it be possible that his previous drowning incident affected him negatively?

It's actually the opposite.

It's because he had a drowning incident, it's affected

his ability to remember her face again.

But there's still no progress, right?

Just like this picture.

It's like there's a cloth always covering it.

What's in the water?

Nothing.

What's going on?

You seem a bit haggard lately. Too much pressure at work?

Do you need some rest?

No need. I probably just didn't sleep well last night.

Director Zhang!

When will you ever knock before you enter?

I'll do it next time.

This is what you wanted.

Thank you, Director Zhang.

What did you need from me?

I...

I'm looking for Shen Yi to sketch someone.

Are you going to keep staring at me?

No...

I'm just relaxing and daydreaming.

Lately...

have you been...

- What? - Nothing.

Did you draw those paintings at the Beijiang Yachting Club?

Why did you go so far away to draw? It's so remote.

There are fewer people there. It's peaceful.

Walls are plentiful. I can draw whatever I like.

Those pictures are pretty good. You're very artistic.

They're all right.

Do you provide lunch here?

Sure, we have box lunches.

That's it then.

Looks like this won't end anytime soon.

Is there someone in there looking at me?

That's pretty interesting.

If I were in there drawing the people in here

that would be really interesting.

No, wait! When can I leave?

Captain Cheng,

based on my experience, it doesn't seem like this kid is related to the case.

He was fooled by someone into making a drawing.

Hey, when can I leave?

Sit down.

- When can I leave? - Who drew this?

- I did. - Who told you to draw it?

- Didn't I tell you already? - Then say it again!

A woman.

- Do you recognize the person in this picture? - No.

Then, how did you draw it?!

That woman showed me a picture of when he was young and told me to draw the adult version, so I did.

Are you trying to trick me?

I don't need to. Here.

Having heard of drawing a three-year-old into an older person?

This isn't hard for me.

Time's short, so it's a little rough.

Here.

That's you when you were eight years old.

Can I leave now?

You've met that woman, right?

The one who wanted you to make the drawing!

What does she look like?

Since you're so amazing,

please draw her.

When I finish can I leave?

Describe her.

I can't draw her.

What do you mean?

I can't remember her face.

What kind of joke is this?!

You looked at me one time and could draw my eight-year-old self.

You've met that woman, yet can't draw her?!

You have to draw her today, whether you want to or not!

Draw!

Draw!

Draw... Draw!

I can't! Why should I remember her?!

I'm an artist, not a police officer!

Why blame me when you're the ones who can't catch her?

Your drawing got a police officer killed!

Because of your drawing, a police officer is dead.

That police officer was the most important person in my life.

Du Cheng.

- He was a good police officer! - Cheng!

He saved a lot of people. If it weren't for your drawing, he could've saved even more people.

He is dead. You got him killed!

Du Cheng, get a hold of yourself.

I'm begging you.

Please draw something. Just a little. Eyebrows,

eyes, nose, mouth,

just one thing and we would have a clue! You're the only one who's met her.

If you can't draw anything, I can't find any clues.

I really can't!

You can't draw...

I really can't draw anything.

Throw the pen away then.

You don't ever need to draw again.

Your pictures only hurt people.

You don't deserve to be an artist.

You're finished?

Where are you going?

Instructor Shen.

Why is Instructor Shen so distracted?

I don't know.

Here's the drawing. Go do the search.

You picked a good spot.

It's quite suitable for jumping into the sea.

Jump then.

I promise not to stop you.

You've been following me?

What else?

Coming here from so far away...

you're not just here for the sea breeze, right?

Someone like you with such a high IQ, what can't you think it through?

I keep thinking.

Anyone that I've met,

as long as I've encountered them,

they would never disappear from my memory.

Only that woman...

is like a phantom.

I can never catch her face.

It's been a long time already.

It's normal to not be able to remember.

I know that you still brood over this incident.

Seven years ago,

after I drew Captain Lei's portrait,

I was pushed into the ocean here.

Thank you.

It's about to rain.

Be careful on the road.

Come with me.
