Imagine him discovering
a whole city

that's been buried
for thousands of years.

And we'll be among

Well, this looks like the place.

This area is restricted.
No visitors.

But we've come at the direct

in the ancient city.

The trouble began yesterday
when we finally reached

the inner sanctum
of the ancient city.

[Professor narrating]We were about to openthe sanctum, when we found'

an ancient curse carvedin the stone.

It said, "This cityis under protection

"of the tar creature,intruders beware!"

Suddenly, there wasa terrible roar.

[roaring]

And then, he appeared..The Tar Monster

a terrifying sighttar dripping from its body

as it came toward us.The workmen ran away.

And that's not
the worst of it.

Like, I was afraid
you were gonna say that.

Come with me
I'll show you.

Zoinks! Like, what happened?

Last night, I heard my assistant
Mr. Stoner shouting for help.

'I ran over here to help
and found this..'

His tent, destroyed.

Zoinks! What happened to him?

We don't know.
He's gone. Disappeared.

[gulping]

Like, t-Tar Monster got him.

where the workmen ran away.

But like there's the curse
of the Tar Monster.

Professor! the treasures
have been stolen.

No one could get past my guards
at the entrance.

Which means, he must have

this creepy place.

Hold it, you two. We've got to
track down the Tar Monster.

Looks like our Tar Monster

There are tracks down both
corridors.

Which means, we'll have to spilt
up to look for clues.

way and see what you can find.

there's a lot of tar along here.

It's a good thing we have the
tar tracks to follow.

And the tracks end here,

at the pool above ground.

Hmm, it looks like we're finally
on to something.

to see if they came up
with anything.

these tracks is we might

run into the monster that's
makin' 'em.

up to the surface.

Right, that ought to force our
monster friend to the surface.

(Shaggy)
'Zoinks!
Like, he's getting away.'

[growling]

(Daphne)
'Jeepers! We got him.

Wait till
the professor sees this.

Now let's see who
the Tar Monster really is.

- It's Stoner.

(Brixton)
'My missing assistant.'

That's right, professor,
he posed as the Tar Monster

to frighten off the local
workers.

That way, he could sneak
into inner sanctum and steal

it's treasures before you
could find them.

But, how did he get past
my guards?

(Daphne)
'The answer to that begins
with that ancient piece of'

'pottery we found
at the tar pool'

after following his tracks.

The pottery had to come
from the ancient city below.

So, when we found the connecting
pool down there

we realised how
he was getting into the city.

I get it, like,
he used his Scuba gear

to dive down through the tar.

Yeah.

All that's left now, is to find
the treasure.

Stoner, where have you
taken the treasures?

Nah, I'll never tell.

I think this map we found will
show us where he hid everything.

According to the map,
there's a secret room

'behind this wall.'

There must be a way
to open the wall, but how?

Like, maybe
there is a hidden door?

[sniffing]
