- (CROWD CHEERS) - Hi.
STYLES: The Dudley Boyz versus The Pitbulls.
Am I missing something here?
My Name
is (STUTTERS) Bu... Bu... Bu... Bu.
(BLEEP)
STYLES: What?
Oh, boy! It's going to be one of those shows, I can feel it.
D-Von does not look amused.
Unlike his much larger brethren,
he does not have an oral fixation with Francine.
Shut up!
STYLES: Though he may be in the minority.
Number one...
Say your (BLEEP) name without stuttering.
Do you understand?
You (BLEEP) imbeciles
stop encouraging him... (BLEEP)
STYLES: Who's a happy fella?
And you two...
Number one.
You don't (BLEEP) scare me.
That's number one.
There's three things
that you two morons
are gonna know.
Number one...
Thou shall not kill.
STYLES: It's a good one.
Two...
Thou shall not steal.
STYLES: Obviously addressing some wrestling promotions.
And number three...
(CHUCKLES)
Thou shall not (BLEEP) with the Dudleys.
STYLES: Bubba Ray and D-Von all over The Pitbulls.
There's the bell.
And apparently this match-up is underway.
Out spills Pitbull #2 with D-Von Dudley.
Pitbull firing back.
We've got Bubba Ray Dudley paired off with Pitbull #1.
Bubba Ray hits the steel.
Pittbull #2 with the chair.
Double axe handles by Bubba Ray.
Pitbull #1 now joining the fray. Here comes Bubba Ray.
Ooh!
Chairs all over the place.
This one's getting ugly in a hurry.
Bubba thrown through a chair.
D-Von thrown into his larger brother,
or cousin, or both, I don't know.
Bubba Ray and Pitbull #2 exchanging forearms.
Pitbull #2 shrugs off the...
Pitbull #2 is the toughest man I think I've ever seen.
How do you put him down?
He swats away chairs like gnats.
CROWD: (CHANTING) ECW!
And fires back.
Bubba Ray takes out a whole row of chairs.
Pitbull #1 hammering D-Von Dudley.
They're close to the ring.
And that broke Bubba's glasses.
D-Von thrown over the guardrail.
Pitbull #2 still on his feet.
Well...
All four men in the aisle.
Oh, no.
Well, below me and to my left,
here come all four athletes.
Garbage can to the head. Threw him in a slam.
Oh, no.
Pitbull #1 with the chair directly to my left.
And he connected.
So did Bubba Ray.
What a display of power by Pitbull #2.
D-Von being set up.
D-Von over the pile of tables.
Bubba Ray follows.
Referee Paul Richards following the action.
In case these four men
have the whim of going back towards the ring
and trying to pin one another.
All four men bowling towards the crowd.
Headed towards the merchandise stand.
Bubba Ray Dudley swinging that chair with no mercy.
And hits the splash in the bleachers.
CROWD: (CHANTING) ECW!
D-Von Dudley sure has changed the complexion of the Dudley family.
The Pitbulls and the Dudleys
taking it to the extreme here this week.
Bubba Ray and Pitbull โช1
hop back over the guardrail. Well, they're close to the ring, anyway.
Bubba Ray Dudley goes down and hard.
(CROWD CHEERS)
Pitbull #2 is still on his feet.
Bubba Ray Dudley thrown back over the guardrail.
Bubba Ray Dudley can barely stand.
The four men near the ring, at least.
D-Von whipped in.
Sunset flip.
He's got him... Two-count only.
And we have had our first pinfall attempt.
D-Von shoved into the corner.
D-Von sent for the ride the other way.
Spin kick and the momentum takes Pitbull #2 to the floor.
Oh, he wouldn't.
Oh, no!
And would you look at Francine?
She's pulling his hair out.
That's a way to treat a disabled person?
You can bet the people at Lloyds of London are looking on in horror.
Ooh!
What a lady!
D-Von with the chair inside the ring.
Pitbull #1 with the chair outside the ring.
Pitbull #2 still on his feet.
Amazing!
D-Von goes downstairs.
And a clothesline finally floors Pitbull #2.
She's nuts!
Face-first into the chair.
Speaking of chairs...
And the fans want to see the superbomb.
They're gonna try and superbomb Bubba Ray Dudley.
He weighs over 350 pounds.
Goodnight.
They're not going for the cover, that's a mistake.
Pitbull #1 goes down.
Pitbull #2 is still standing.
Referee Paul Richards goes down and hard.
And D-Von has no remorse for his actions.
CROWD: (CHANTING) D-Von!
D-Von is going after Francine.
If you're new to ECW and wondering if that's the way we treat officials
here at Extreme Championship Wrestling...
Yes!
And we're damn proud of it.
(HORN BLOWS)
MAN: Have a nice day, fellas. That was a hell of a match! A hell of a match!
Yeah.
Come on. Come on.
Yeah, Come on.
Come on.
Come on.
You don't have nothin' to say.
I don't give a (BLEEP) what you guys say.
I'm in charge of this damn family now.
Some (BLEEP) things are gonna change.
Oh, yeah, you better believe it.
(CROWD YELLING)
Each and every one of you Philadelphia hicks,
kiss my ass.
You.
Are you gonna stop (BLEEP) dancin', and prancin' and (BLEEP) etcetera?
Is that understood?
You... (BLEEP) you.
You're gonna learn to talk
or I'll have to kick your ass.
Put it down.
(CROWD CHANTS)
You know what, you can chant that (BLEEP) all you want,
it'll never happen.
There's three things that you outta know.
Number one,
thou shall not kill.
Thou shall not steal.
And the most important one of them all,
is thou shall not (BLEEP) with a Dudley.
(ROCK MUSIC PLAYS)
(ROCK MUSIC STOPS)
Come on. Huh!
Come on.
I'm here. Come on.
Go the (BLEEP) away.
(ROCK MUSIC PLAYS)
(CROWD YELLING)
JOEY STYLES: Here we go!
The fists are flying early on in this match.
Face first into the canvas.
And Bubba is a man possessed, he's on a mission.
CROWD: (CHANTING) Bubba!
Bubba and D-Von are nose to nose.
Bubba hammering D-Von.
Irish Whip, reversed out of the corner... No.
Short arm clothesline!
And now D-Von's getting fired up.
The fans all over the case of D-Von Dudley.
Sign guy firing up the crowd.
Scoop and a slam, great power by D-Von.
Head-butt right to the sternum.
And just like that, D-Von Dudley controlling this match-up.
Bubba sent for the ride.
Back body drop on the
360-pound-plus
- Bubba Ray Dudley. - CROWD: (CHANTING) Let's go, Dudley!
And now the fans really getting all over the case
of D-Von Dudley.
D-Von slapping and punching his brother,
degrading him as well.
And D-Von showing no signs of letting up.
Bubba Ray ducked and pulled down the top rope!
D-Von spills to the outside.
Slap right to the face.
D-Von hits the steel!
And...
D-Von trapped, now,
between the guardrail and his humongous brother.
Bubba just slapping D-Von.
Adding insult to what he hopes will be serious injury.
D-Von thrown back in.
Bubba Ray follows him.
And Bubba Ray should be looking to finish off his brother.
Forearm right to the face. Irish whip!
Leap forward by D-Von!
Reverse DDT!
And just like that, Bubba Ray Dudley's momentum drops to a screeching halt.
Lateral press, two...
But he kicks out at two.
There's a lot of fight left in Bubba Ray Dudley.
CROWD: (CHANTING) Let's go, D-Von!
Bubba Ray falling outside!
Double axe handle to the back of the neck!
And now,
D-Von Dudley having his way with Bubba Ray Dudley outside.
Right over the steel guardrail!
D-Von hops over after him, as well.
And D-Von...
And Bubba's got his...
Bubba missed with the stop sign!
Hit that time!
Man, did that connect!
CROWD: (CHANTING) ECW!
And now it's D-Von and Bubba Ray brawling for the bleachers.
D-Von retaliates!
And Bubba Ray falls to his knees!
It's a miracle he's still...
Bubba Ray charges!
And this one has broken down into the street fight we knew it would be!
D-Von goes downstairs!
D-Von with a... Ukulele?
Bubba Ray thrown back over the guard rail, and in comes D-Von.
D-Von just measuring his brother.
Bubba fires back!
Chair across the back!
And these two are just dishing out the physical punishment,
how long can they keep it up?
D-Von now ascending the turnbuckles with a chair.
He took too long and Bubba Ray caught him!
A slap to the face and now Bubba Ray is going up.
Cinching in D-Von...
Super-plex!
And this is it,
Bubba Ray has D-Von beat, he's gonna cover D-Von Dudley!
He turns him over, hooks the leg, cover!
Two...
Two-count only.
Bubba Ray can barely stand,
he's exhausted, he's battered, he's beaten.
- Boot to the midsection. - Bubba!
STYLES: He's calling for the Bubba Bomb!
He hit it!
Bubba looks stunned, he can't believe it.
Cover that man! He hooks the leg!
Not quite three, D-Von able to get the right shoulder up.
And Bubba Ray may be getting a little frustrated.
Bubba misses the splash.
And now it's D-Von who can barely stand,
making his way up the turnbuckles, yet again.
D-Von hits the apron, covers, hooks the leg and...
Bubba Ray escapes, two-count only.
REFEREE: One, two, three, let go!
STYLES: D-Von now chipping away at Bubba.
D-Von jaw-jacking with the fans,
he better worry about Bubba Ray Dudley.
A slap right to the face.
How could this relationship between two brothers
have gone so sour?
And D-Von just will not leave Bubba Ray...
Puts a finger in his face, Bubba Ray can barely stand!
And D-Von...
D-Von continues to punish his brother
physically and verbally.
Bubba blocked the chair!
D-Von beat Bubba to the punch.
And D-Von Dudley retains control of this match-up.
When Bubba Ray Dudley can barely stand.
Reversal,
clothesline misses, back body drop!
To a Diamond Cutter! What the hell do you call that?
A Bubba Cutter?
(BELL DINGS)
He got him!
ARTESE: Ladies and...
STYLES: Joel Gertner took the mic away from Bob Artese!
Bubba Ray Dudley getting a big win
over his abusive brother, D-Von.
But we haven't heard the offic...
(CROWD BOOING)
- What is he doing? - Bob Striptease, relax.
Ladies and gentlemen,
your official winner
of the contest,
D-Von Dudley!
STYLES: What're you talking about?
What is Gertner doing?
GERTNER: In my
expert opinion,
Mr. D-Von Dudley won the contest,
long before
you executed your mediocre
pinfall attempt.
He won the contest on points.
STYLES: Oh, this... This kid has got to be kidding!
Who does Joel Gertner think he is?
Once again, the winner of the contest,
Mr. D...
if you wouldn't mind,
could you please move your massive body
out of my way
and out of the view of the camera?
Fat boy.
STYLES: Oh, boy.
And Joel Gertner deserves whatever he gets, including this Bubba Bomb...
Axl Rotten.
Down goes Sign Guy.
Axl Rotten out of nowhere!
Spike Dudley's in the ring!
Dropkick on Axl!
He's all over D-Von.
Look at Spike go!
This kid loves to fight.
Bubba Ray Dudley with the dropkick!
Bulldog on D-Von.
As Spike gets clotheslined out of his tie-dyed boots.
Axl with the chair on Bubba, now choking him out.
What is Gertner doing?
He couldn't smash a cockroach.
It's Big Dick! Here comes Big Dick Dudley!
He has seen enough!
Big Dick is suited up!
They haven't seen Big Dick yet!
Oh, Axl's seen him.
Axl's gone.
D-Von wants no part of Big...
Oh, if that picture isn't worth a thousand words.
I'm gonna let this speak for itself.
Hello!
That is pure fear on the face of Joel Gertner.
Along with Bubba Ray's hand.
And what do the Dudleys have in mind for Joel Gertner!
(AIR HORN BLOWS)
Scoop and a slam!
Gertner's not going anywhere.
This does not bode well for young Joel Gertner.
He may not be getting any older.
(AIR HORN BLOWS)
Big Dick Dudley-sault!
- November to Remember '96. - Mmm-hmm.
What do you remember about that match?
- The match was you and I... - Right.
And that was the first time you hit the, "Throw me up in the air," Bubba Cutter.
- Right. - Yeah.
I remember seeing the inception of the move
done by Malenko and Mysterio,
and as I was telling the guys,
- like, we're not Malenko and Mysterio... - No.
...but we pulled it off like we were.
I mean, you got so much height on it.
And, like, that's the original Bubba Cutter, and it was done perfectly
- the first time. So like... - Absolutely.
...I think that brawl against one another,
and hittin' that move so perfectly, like,
I thought that was kind of cool and that's the most memorable...
(SAMUEL I JACKSON RINGTONE) Say "what" again! I dare ya, I double dare ya!
Mother (BLEEP) Say what one more (BLEEP) time.
What?
(D-VON LAUGHS)
...'cause you look like a bitch.
(BOTH LAUGH)
- That's your, uh... - Ringtone.
- That's your ringtone? - Yeah.
That's, like... Is that a special ringtone for, like, your wife?
No, uh... Well, I mean, it could be.
- At times. Yep. - Yeah, I mean, you know how that goes.
But, uh, no, you know what? I, um...
What I realize, what I remember the most of that, especially
that match and the one right before that,
'cause they both were at the ECW Arena,
was when we beat the living hell out of each other.
We beat the living hell out of each other.
I don't remember anything more than the November to Remember.
D-VON: That one and then the one when Spike came out of the bag.
Outta the potato sack bag.
BUBBA RAY: I remember him coming out of the potato sack,
but I just don't remember what we did that night.
I mean, it was just, I remember we got reprimanded
huge by Tazz.
Sabu was upset.
Oh, because we put somebody through a table in the third match.
- In the third match. - Right, and Tazz was pissed off.
Why was he pissed off?
- Because he had to follow us. - Yeah, pretty much. And he got upset.
Right, and he knew that he couldn't follow our table bump.
- Absolutely. - Exactly, that's why he was mad.
And the table bump that you gave me, I don't know if you remember,
I was laying flat down, stomach-first down.
Face down on the table, and you jumped and did a splash.
- Why would you take that? - Uh, you told me to.
- (D-VON LAUGHS) - That's a good reason.
- Did it work? - Oh, it worked.
You're alive and kickin', so it must've worked.
VINCE: New York City, ladies and gentlemen,
the new Times Square outside the Manhattan Center, live,
we're coming to you, ladies and gentlemen,
yes, it's Monday Night RAW.
HEYMAN: May I speak now, Mr. McMahon?
Ladies and gentlemen, in the ring,
representing Extreme Championship Wrestling,
D-Von Dudley!
(MAN IN THE BOX PLAYS)
(CROWD BOOS)
VINCE: Tommy Dreamer...
(BELL DINGS)
D-Von Dudley, those taped fists.
JERRY: You know what, Paul E.? VINCE: D-Von Dudley.
HEYMAN: No, I don't know what.
JERRY: I'll tell you what, you should get down on your hands and knees,
and kiss my royal feet,
for giving you the opportunity to be out here and constantly
plug your pay-per-view.
I mean, more people are being exposed to your ECW wrestling
in this moment of the event than the entire history
of your whole little rinky-dink company.
HEYMAN: And that's thanks to the cojones of the man
sitting next to you.
- Not to you! - JERRY: Yeah, right.
HEYMAN: As Tommy Dreamer takes D-Von Dudley outside the ring.
JERRY: Oh, good, here we go! HEYMAN: And here we go!
To get extreme!
JERRY: What was that?
HEYMAN: That's called a weapon and that's called effective.
JERRY: Right, yeah, now look at these idiots in the crowd,
McMahon, watch this.
VINCE: That was a... A bell. The ring bell.
JERRY: What's he got now, huh?
HEYMAN: A weapon, a cane.
JERRY: That's some wrestling for ya.
VINCE: Well, I think we, uh...
(JERRY EXCLAIMS)
...need to be drawing some lines here, ladies and gentlemen.
- JERRY: Oh, come on, McMahon, this is ECW. - VINCE: No.
VINCE: That'll work. Hopefully, things aren't gonna get out of hand here.
HEYMAN: Well, hopefully they are, that's what ECW is all about!
We're not just wrestling,
we're not just exciting,
we are extreme!
VINCE: Yes, there's no doubt about that, but, uh... Oh!
And anyone can get extreme.
HEYMAN: No, not anyone!
VINCE: We're gonna have extreme action here, ladies and gentlemen,
no doubt, when the Undertaker faces Faarooq, the leader of the Nation of...
Oh!
...the leader of the Nation of Domination.
Coming up. And of course, if you just joined us,
The Legion of Doom back in tag-team action,
here in the World Wrestling Federation.
You missed, as well, the special arm wrestling event.
Uh-oh, look at this. What's going on with Tommy Dreamer?
JERRY: Oh, they're doing some wrestling, McMahon.
VINCE: Yes, the Undertaker against Faarooq,
but right now, Tommy Dreamer against D-Von Dudley.
HEYMAN: And this is a fight of ultimate proportions.
As the innovator of violence, Tommy Dreamer,
you said anyone can get extreme,
I doubt very seriously, that the court jester
sitting next to you could ever be... Oh!
...extreme.
JERRY: Hey, let me just tell you this, Paul Dangerously.
HEYMAN: No, you will never tell me anything.
JERRY: No, yeah, let me tell you this,
- I've been in wrestling... - VINCE: Hey, come on, guys.
JERRY: You know what, I've been in wrestling
- about 20 years... - HEYMAN: For 500 years, yeah.
JERRY: For about 20 years...
VINCE: Hey, guys, come on.
...and I've never been ashamed to tell anybody
that I was a wrestler, you understand that?
When I left my hometown of Memphis, Tennessee, this morning
to fly to New York City,
let me tell you something, the mayor... They mayor of Memphis, Tennessee,
Mayor Herenton was in the airport flying to Kansas City,
he looked at me and smiled and said, "Hey, King,
"if you ever need a tag-team partner, call me."
I've never been ashamed of being a professional wrestler,
but right now, when I look at this crap in the ring
- and when I look at an idiot like you... - Next word you say...
-...sitting right there... Oh, shut up! - Next word you say...
- Shut up! Yeah, shut up! - Shut up? Why don't you make me shut up.
When I look at you and when I look at this crap...
The ECW should stand for Extremely Crappy Wrestling.
- I'm ashamed to be associated with it. - Now, come on.
You understand? I'm ashamed to be associated with it.
You're not associated with it. And you never will be associated with it,
'cause you're not man enough to be associated with it.
VINCE: Watch what's goin' on.
Just chill out, all right? This is the last match we're gonna have here
- that is extreme tonight. - JERRY: Thank God.
- HEYMAN: You're welcome. - VINCE: Nonetheless,
D-Von Dudley, ladies and gentlemen.
HEYMAN: Freakin' clown.
VINCE: In the overalls, D-Von Dudley taking it to Tommy Dreamer, and, uh...
ALL: Oh!
CROWD: (CHANTING) Tommy!
HEYMAN: Oh, go ahead, somebody call the match, I've had it with him.
JERRY: Oh, yeah, right, you sure wouldn't know what to call
because you've never been in a wrestling match.
You're what I call a "Jock Sniffer".
You like to be around athletes because you're not one yourself.
Only thing athletic about you are your stinkin' feet, you understand that?
- And all you do is leech onto... - HEYMAN: Whoa, whoa, whoa.
...a bunch of so-called athletes to try to make money off of them.
HEYMAN: You know, while we're being extreme, I have no problem sniffing your jock,
- but I'm afraid you'd like it. - Oh, yeah, is that right?
- That's right. Great comeback. - Is that right?
VINCE: Wait a minute, in any event, ladies and gentlemen...
HEYMAN: You know, stop telling me to wait a minute,
I've had it with him.
- He invited us, you accepted. - What's this? Aw, come on.
Please. Standing by right now,
- ladies and gentlemen... - Come on, this is it!
JERRY: ECW!
VINCE: I think the Undertaker...
There he is, and the Undertaker, ladies and gentlemen.
- Come out! - JERRY: Come on out here, Undertaker.
VINCE: One on one with the leader of The Nation
of Domination, Faarooq, any last minute thoughts?
Tonight, the march to WrestleMania the 13th
begins with The Nation.
They will all be laid aside.
And the only thing that stands between me and Psycho Sid
- at WrestleMania the 13th is time. - VINCE: Oh...
HEYMAN: Look at this.
VINCE: Thank you very much, the Undertaker.
- HEYMAN: 350 pounds, Bubba Ray Dudley! - JERRY: Now, what's going on?
- VINCE: We are live, ladies and gentlemen. - (MAN IN THE BOX PLAYS)
HEYMAN: It's the Sandman! It's the Sandman!
The Sandman is in the Manhattan Center.
The icon of Extreme Championship Wrestling!
And we're about to get hardcore!
Bubba Ray Dudley and D-Von summon a miracle
on extreme ECW.
VINCE: Looks like things are getting a little bit...
As I was saying...
(CROWD BOOING)
The people have come from miles around,
and plunked their money down,
just to hear the sweet, melodic sound
of the quintessential stud muffin,
Joel Gertner.
And at this time, it is your pleasure
to hear me introduce the team
that comes to you from the legendary
fighting town of Dudleyville.
Weighing in at a combined weight
of 608 pounds.
They are led to the ring
by their half brother,
Sign Guy Dudley!
(CROWD BOOING)
Ladies and gentlemen,
here they are,
the undisputed,
undefeated,
heavyweight
Tag Team Champions of the World,
and the best tag team
in wrestling today,
(CROWD BOOING)
Bubba Ray and D-Von,
the Dudley Boyz!
(CROWD BOOING)
(THE ELIMINATORS THEME SONG PLAYING)
STYLES: World Tag Team Champions,
the Dudleys.
There are a couple of men coming to the ring right now
who feel differently.
As to who the best tag team in the world today is.
(CROWD CHEERING)
They are the former
ECW World Tag Team Champions,
Saturn, Kronus,
The Eliminators.
Ass, baby! Ass! (WHOOPING)
And the Dudleys want no part of The Eliminators.
(BELL DINGING)
Is Sign Guy crazy?
Total elimination!
The champions attack!
Reverse DDT!
Bubba Ray Dudley working over Kronus.
Bubba Bomb!
Diving head-butt!
One, two...
Two-count only.
Irish Whip!
Tilt-a-whirl Bubba slam.
And a splash. Great double-team by the champs.
Two and... Kronus breaks it up.
And gets nailed for his efforts.
Bubba Ray slapping Kronus.
Vertical suplex and a high crossbody. Nice way to get into it.
Saturn makes the save.
Irish Whip!
Saturn ducked.
- (CROWD CHEERING) - Saturnsault!
Double dropkick!
Clothesline!
Clothesline!
Bubba slam with authority!
And that put a screeching halt to the momentum
of the challengers.
Irish Whip.
They were going for the 3D, the deadly...
- And Saturn broke it up! - MAN: Oh, my God!
STYLES: They were going for the coup de grรขce, and they missed.
Pair of spinning roundhouses. That's the do-si-so.
Front kicks. Whoo!
Elbows, back fists,
pair of side kicks.
There's that great martial arts background of The Eliminators.
(LOUD THUD)
Pair of slams.
(CROWD CHEERING)
Are you kidding me?
Twisting, serial splashes.
CROWD: (CHANTING) ECW!
And the challengers now in control
of this tag team title match-up.
Dudleys trying to get it together.
The Champs are down.
They're not safe out there.
(CROWD CHEERING)
MAN: Oh, my God!
STYLES: Saturnsault to the outside of the floor.
What athleticism!
(CROWD CHEERING)
Great display, Kronus struck!
He weighs 265 pounds,
and I defy you
to show me another 265-pounder,
anywhere in the world,
competing in this great sport, who can do that.
(CROWD CHEERING)
Springboard spin kick by Saturn.
Hurricane Kronus.
And things are looking stormy for the champions right now.
What power by Kronus! Bubba Ray weighs about 370-375.
- (CROWD CHEERING) - Kronus drops an elbow!
Excuse me. Saturn drops an elbow from the stratosphere.
Irish Whip! D-Von ducks.
The leapfrogs.
Ridge hands to the front, ridge hands to the back.
And a couple of Russian sweeps.
Scoop and a slam on Bubba Ray Dudley.
Double-jump springboard Saturnsault!
D-Von Dudley gets planted.
CROWD: (CHANTING) Saturn!
Where is Kronus going? All the way up top.
(WHOOPING)
(CROWD CHEERING)
Forward-flipping splash!
The Eliminators are sending a message to every tag team out there.
Pair of roundhouses.
Roundhouse sandwich!
That'll collapse your chest cavity.
And this may be the end.
Total Elimination! Cover!
(BELL DINGING)
They got 'em!
GERTNER: Your winner and new
ECW World Tag Team Champions
for the third time,
Saturn, Kronus,
The Eliminators!
(CROWD CHEERING)
The great thing about that was the tension in the air.
Everybody was on edge.
It was our first pay-per-view.
No one had really been on a pay-per-view before in that locker room.
So, to me,
it was like the tension was just... You can cut it with a knife.
And we were the ones to kick it off.
- That was the thing. - Yeah.
For us to kick it off, we set the tone.
- I mean... - I mean, first pay-per-view...
ECW pay-per-view ever,
being the first match, setting the tone,
and, um... And I think we did pretty well.
- I think we did extremely well. - Yeah.
D-VON: And then for the fact that you even broke your ankle,
and then finished the match.
I mean, you see, you're hobbling around in there, it was...
- It was, uh... - It was shattered.
- It was shattered. - Yeah, I know 'cause you were screaming,
- ''D-Von, my ankle..." - And then...
And then I remember...
I remember the doctor telling me
that I'd probably be in the cast for...
I think about three months.
And Paul had said, "Don't worry about it. Don't worry about it.
"We'll have Big Dick tag with D-Von,
"and he'll just... He'll fill in for you while that's going on."
And I knew that that would just be a disaster...
(LAUGHING)
...and that all of our momentum would have just stopped,
- right then and there. So... - (LAUGHING)
What I remember, is being in my family's house,
it's about 3:00 in the morning, I'm sitting up in bed,
and I'm like, "I gotta do something."
The cast was closing in on me.
I was itchy, and I was pissed.
And I hobbled down
into my father's tool cabinet,
and I got a hacksaw and a pair of pliers,
and I hacked my cast off.
- I remember. - In my room, peeled it off,
I just put it in a walking cast the next day,
and I continued to wrestle,
on a shattered ankle
in a walking cast, which I still pay for to this day.
Well, that's why you don't take this cast off before it's done.
No, not after three days.
(LAUGHS)
(CROWD CHEERING)
STYLES: This is going to be a war,
the likes of which we have never seen before
on pay-per-view.
(BELL DINGING)
Tommy Dreamer to start out with D-Von Dudley.
Lot of trash talking going on.
Reversal on the Irish Whip!
Go-behind by Dreamer.
D-Von sent for the ride.
Leapfrog. Boot to the midsection.
Dreamer sent for the ride.
Sunset flip.
(SCREAMING)
Can Tommy get over? No. D-Von drops down.
Tommy hooks the shoulders, takes him over. Two-count only.
Tommy's down. Flips him over. D-Von is now down.
(QUARRELING LOUDLY)
Straight right hand by Tommy.
(CROWD CHEERING)
Hangman's neckbreaker from the top turnbuckle.
That's why Tommy Dreamer is the Innovator of Violence.
(YELLING LOUDLY)
D-Von tags in Bubba Ray.
Over here!
STYLES: Spike's going nuts. He wants in.
CROWD: (CHANTING) Spike!
Spike's giving up 200 pounds. Here he comes.
What a huge bail.
Here he comes again.
Press slam.
(YELLING INDISTINCTLY)
Gertner and Sign Guy along with Jeff Jones.
Laughing at Spike.
Bubba Ray lost his footing. One-count only.
Elbow to the face.
Spike ducks.
Forearm nails Bubba Ray. Make it two.
CROWD: One, two, three, four,
five, six, seven, eight,
nine, ten.
Spike's standing on Bubba Ray.
(WHOOPING)
Hurricanrana?
(CROWD EXCLAIMING)
- Bubba Bomb! - I'm sorry, baby, make the tag.
STYLES: Spike has got to make the tag.
I'm sorry, Spike.
All your fault, boys.
MAN: It's all your fault, Dreamer.
Come on, Spike. I'm sorry, baby. Suck it up.
STYLES: Spike is in the wrong corner.
Spike does not need a family reunion.
Look at D-Von choking away.
( INDISTINCT YELLING)
STYLES: Spike Dudley has got to make the tag
to either the Sandman or Tommy Dreamer.
What do you think of this fight now?
Irish Whip!
Clothesline.
Crushes the larynx of Spike.
(LOUD POUNDING)
- Yeah, Bubba! - TOMMY: Spike! Spike! Spike!
ALL: (CHANTING) Spike!
Spike sent for the ride again.
What a back drop. Spike Dudley up in the lights.
TOMMY: Spike, suck it up, man.
MAN: The only thing that's sucking up is you around here, Dreamer.
STYLES: Slap to the face.
And Spike comes back up fighting.
(SCREAMING)
MAN: Come on, Bubba.
Bubba!
Scoop and a slam, Spike gets...
Spike is dazed as Bubba...
Bubba missed the splash.
Forearm.
Boot to the midsection stops Spike in his tracks.
Bubba Bomb coming up.
A hurricanrana!
(CROWD CHEERING)
Beard or the forehead, and Bubba driven face first into the canvas.
Cover! One-count only.
- Time out! - Time out!
And there is the tag
to ECW's giant,
six foot seven,
300... Well, he's down to 360 pounds,
he's lost 15.
26-inch arms on Big Dick Dudley,
in against the extreme icon, the Sandman.
(YELLS)
Big Dick Dudley has a record longer than Gertner's lunch list.
They tie up again.
Big Dick is backed into the corner.
(LOUD POUNDING)
Boot to the midsection.
Sandman's gonna break his knuckles on Big Dick's head.
Clothesline sends Big Dick to the outside.
Big Dick snatches the Sandman and drags him outside.
(GRUNTS)
And now the Sandman is being mauled by the grizzly bear that is Big Dick Dudley.
We've got all six men on the outside.
That didn't take long.
Big Dick throws the Sandman up and over the guardrail.
Where did Tommy and D-Von go?
Spike is standing on Bubba.
(GROANING)
(CROWD CHEERING)
Dreamer is dragging D-Von Dudley
all over the building.
(GRUNTS)
Fist between the eyes.
(EXCLAIMING)
Spike going berserk on D-Von.
(SCREAMING)
Big Dick hits the steel.
Sandman sent for the ride.
Clothesline.
Back the other way.
MAN: Do it, Dreamer!
Straight right hands by Bubba Ray Dudley who is just picking his shots.
He missed that one.
Dreamer hits the steel.
Frankensander!
(SCREAMS)
Big Dick with a chair.
(CROWD CHEERING)
(GROANING)
Bubba was trying to crush Dreamer,
instead he may have pulled his hamstring.
Big Dick Dudley is busted open.
Looks like Spike is, as well.
Sandman busted himself up.
Where in the hell is Spike going?
(CROWD CHEERING)
Oh, my God!
CROWD: (CHANTING) ECW!
They're watching ECW,
accept no imitations for this insanity.
We've got a ladder in the ring.
D-Von buried underneath that ladder.
The Sandman going up.
(CROWD CHEERING)
Somersault senton!
And a bloody D-Von Dudley gets crushed underneath the ladder.
(CROWD EXCLAIMING)
The Sandman back dropped on the ramp by Big Dick.
Dick!
The Dudleys have Tommy Dreamer all to themselves.
Scoop and a slam on Tommy.
They're gonna focus on Tommy. It's Tommy who they wanna hurt.
And it's Tommy who they wanna beat.
(EXCLAIMING)
(GROANS)
(CROWD CHEERING)
Dreamer underneath the ladder.
(CROWD EXCLAIMING)
Oh, my God.
Tommy looks hurt.
Bubba Ray Dudley with the senton.
Dreamer buried underneath the ladder.
Spike is still fighting.
Throws D-Von to the outside. Here he comes to the aid of Tommy Dreamer.
Testicular claw, going for the acid drop.
(CROWD CHEERING)
And plants Bubba Ray Dudley.
No, D-Von makes the save.
(CROWD EXCLAIMING)
Side slam on the ladder.
Big Dick gets crotched.
He's tied to the tree of woe.
Bubba Ray and D-Von double-teaming Dreamer.
Here comes Spike to help out.
And the tide has turned.
As now, Bubba Ray Dudley is tied to the tree of woe as well.
Spike can't pick up D-Von.
But he can with help from Dreamer.
We've got all three Dudley Boyz tied to trees of woe.
Sign Guy gets caught.
Figure Four! Figure Four! Figure Four!
Dreamer's gonna snap the leg.
Dreamer's gonna snap the leg of Sign Guy Dudley.
In comes Jeff Jones,
the sell-out referee.
(EXCLAIMING)
Jeff Jones mocking Tommy Dreamer.
(CROWD CHEERING)
Piledriver. Jones gets spiked!
(CROWD CHEERING)
Gertner tied to the tree of woe.
Jim Molineaux working with Sandman, Dreamer and Spike.
Four-way drop kick!
(CROWD CHEERING)
Gertner called Molineaux bold
before the match-up, and there's his receipt.
CROWD: (CHANTING) ECW!
Dreamer, driver in the center of the ring.
Cover! Hooks the leg... No. Big Dick makes the save.
The Innovator of Violence strikes again.
That move will pop up on Monday Night wrestling soon.
They'll call it somethin' else.
This has turned into the bloodbath we knew it would be.
Big Dick with total penetration on the ladder.
(SCREAMING)
(CROWD EXCLAIMING)
Spike was going for the swinging bulldog
on the mastodon, Big Dick Dudley.
Big Dick takes the Singapore cane between the eyes,
and right to the groin.
(CROWD EXCLAIMING)
Bubba ducked and cracked the Sandman right in the skull.
Bubba missed the splash. Bubba missed the splash.
He splashed the ladder.
DDT on the ladder! Cover! Hooked the leg!
And got him! They got him!
Tommy Dreamer got revenge for Beulah.
GERTNER: Spike Dudley, Tommy Dreamer!
And the Sandman!
In ECW,
boys become men.
STYLES: Joel, you know these guys better than anyone,
where are they going with all this?
GERTNER: I'm afraid to speculate where they're going,
- but there's only one way to find out. - CROWD: (CHANTING) ECW!
STYLES: Just watch the monitor. You're just so helpful.
Just leave with our belt.
In ECW, men
become heroes.
STYLES: Heroes to who? Who do you two think you are?
GERTNER: In the case of the Dudleys, villains.
But in the World Wrestling Federation,
heroes become legends.
STYLES: Oh, please!
And legends
become gods!
STYLES: What a remark!
And if God was a heel,
he'd be the Dudley Boyz.
(CROWD CHEERING)
STYLES: Full of themselves, aren't they?
GERTNER: Why not?
So, before we take these belts,
and jump on I-95...
(CROWD SINGING NA NA HEY HEY (KISS HIM GOODBYE))
STYLES: They're gonna leave with our World Tag Team Title belt.
How embarrassing!
Damn!
GERTNER: And although he claimed that they were gods,
they're not quite getting the type of worship that they desire right now.
Typical disrespectful white trash from Queens.
STYLES: Why is it every time Bubba opens his mouth,
I cringe and really fear for what he might say?
Before we take these belts
to the true city
of hardcore wrestling,
Stanford, Connecticut...
STYLES: Fans, you are watching wrestling history,
and it's not good news for ECW.
(CROWD BOOING)
There's one more thing
that we gotta do.
Now that we've beaten this company,
now, we're gonna ruin
this company.
We are gonna suck
the life, the blood,
the soul, the guts,
the backbone
of ECW right out.
We're gonna do something
we should've did
and finished a long time ago.
CROWD: (CHANTING) Sabu!
Chant any name you want,
if they hit this ring,
they gettin' jacked up, hit with 3D,
and out of wrestling for good.
(CROWD BOOING)
Now...
if you got one little hair
on that big fat ass of yours,
Tommy Dreamer...
(CROWD CHEERING)
Get your broken back,
useless piece
of dog trash ass out here
and defend this miserable,
six-year-old company that you broke
your stinkin' back for.
(CROWD CHEERING)
STYLES: Tommy Dreamer is ECW. He embodies the spirit of this company.
BUBBA RAY: On this Monday night... STYLES: How cowardly
- of the Dudley Boyz to pick a fight... -...on the most watched
- television program... -...who has two herniated disks in his back.
-...on cable TV, -Tommy can't wrestle.
Tommy may never wrestle again!
BUBBA RAY: Brought to you by the genius of pro-wrestling,
Vince McMahon.
STYLES: Enough with that, this is ridiculous.
We've got Tommy Dreamer in the aisle being restrained
by Executive Producer Paul Heyman.
BUBBA RAY: On Monday night... Oh, look. STYLES: There's Francine.
Go in the back. Go in the back.
- Listen to her. - Why are you gonna...
BUBBA RAY: Just another two-dollar whore happened to show up.
GERTNER: Joey, can I borrow a dollar and 87 cents? Something just came up.
HEYMAN: We will go on Monday Night RAW,
and take these belts that we have now for eight times
and we should damn own, and throw them the hell down
on national television.
STYLES: Tommy Dreamer has sustained more punishment than anyone
in the history of the most hardcore promotion
in professional wrestling.
- It's a wonder he can walk. - HEYMAN:...when we took Beulah.
(CROWD BOOING)
STYLES: The Dudleys put his girlfriend out of wrestling forever.
BUBBA RAY: So what are you going to do, Tommy,
Mr. Everybody-loves-you?
GERTNER: And what's worse, imagine how Francine feels.
You turn your back on her.
GERTNER: You know, I'd love to know how Francine feels.
And you pick up the next... (BLEEP)
GERTNER: I've asked her many times to know how she feels.
STYLES: Tommy Dreamer is hurried up.
Tommy Dreamer is in the ring.
Tommy Dreamer has attacked the eight-time World Tag Team Champions,
and Tommy Dreamer has two herniated disks in his back.
(BELL DINGING)
Double side Russian leg sweep by Dreamer, who can barely stand.
Cover on Bubba Ray Dudley.
We've got an impromptu ECW World Tag Team title match.
GERTNER: It's not a tag team match. It's a handicap match.
No pun intended. Tommy Dreamer doesn't belong in the ring.
And while he may, as you said, embody the fighting spirit of ECW,
his brain is the size of a watermelon seed,
and this is not good. They're gonna cripple him.
STYLES: But the odds are being evened up
as The Queen of Extreme, Francine,
just handed Tommy Dreamer a partner.
GERTNER: It's not really a partner, Joey, it's cold hard steel
in the form of a ladder in the ring.
STYLES: Dreamer with the teeter-totter action,
takes out both World Tag Team Champions.
CROWD: (CHANTING) ECW!
GERTNER: You don't see seesaws like that every day at the playground, do you?
STYLES: Sign Guy, behind you.
Behind you!
Bingo.
The next sign he sees is going to say, "smelling salts."
Dreamer now wedging that ladder
in between the second and top turnbuckle. Dreamer can barely walk.
And quite frankly, has no business being in the ring.
(SCREAMS)
Bubba Ray Dudley whipped into that ladder.
D-Von whipped into Bubba Ray.
GERTNER: Meeting of the minds.
Meeting of the minds. There it is, right in the middle of the ring.
STYLES: Tommy Dreamer, with two herniated disks in his back,
is battling for the honor of ECW
and taking on both ECW World Tag Team Champions,
Bubba Ray and D-Von Dudley,
all by himself,
here in New York City.
Reversal!
And Tommy's back driven into the steel ladder.
Belly-to-back suplex folds Tommy in half.
GERTNER: Looks like he's attacked back.
STYLES: See Tommy Dreamer, full of determination, off his back,
that injured back right into the ladder, and flying onto the canvas.
And look at Dreamer sent careening into that ladder
and then Bubba Ray Dudley still not happy.
Drops him right on the back of his neck.
Tommy must just be numb right now.
I mean, that pain... He has bypassed excruciating pain.
He must be numb.
GERTNER: He can use all the determination in the world,
all the memories of old girlfriends,
he can have all the spit and vinegar running through his body,
but it doesn't matter.
So many tag teams have been defeated by the Dudleys,
that one single man, even if it is Tommy Dreamer,
doesn't have a shot in the world.
STYLES: You see several wrestlers surrounding the ring there.
Tried to stop the Dudleys, but the Dudleys cannot be stopped.
They are gonna... Wait, even Sign Guy, their own brother,
trying to stop them, he knows they're going too far.
The Dudley Boyz are going to disgrace the ECW World Tag Team Championship,
end the career of a 28-year-old ECW original,
Tommy Dreamer, here in only the second week of the series ECW on TNN.
And now the Dudleys are primed for 3D,
the Dudley Death Drop,
and that will, indeed, spell the end of Dreamer.
Tommy with a counter DDT.
(CROWD CHEERING)
(MAN IN THE BOX PLAYING)
Raven!
It's Raven!
CROWD: (CHANTING) ECW!
Tommy Dreamer doesn't even realize it yet.
Tommy Dreamer and Raven?
Raven.
And Raven for the new ECW World Tag Team Champion.
Tommy Dreamer has finally won a world title,
but he has to share the honor with the man he hates more than anyone in the world.
Raven.
Raven is back at ECW.
CROWD: (CHANTING) ECW!
In this ring
and in that locker room
and for everybody who ever stepped foot through
this man's doors.
This is the hardest working crew
you will ever see in your life.
(CROWD APPLAUDING)
Where else can you spend 20,
25, 30 bucks
crammed into a real (BLEEP) building...
(CROWD CHEERING)
And for three hours... No, that's four. For three hours,
have the most (BLEEP) damn fun you've ever had in your life.
(CROWD CHEERING)
Four years ago, me and D-Von came walking through these doors,
and Paul E., the (BLEEP) genius that he is...
(CROWD CHEERING)
...handed us the ball, and, uh...
I think you'd agree
we haven't dropped it once.
(CROWD CHEERING)
But the reason we never dropped it wasn't because of us,
it's because every single person we ever got in this ring with
had our back. We had their back.
And we were all in this ring for one common cause,
to take something that was way down here,
and is soon to be way up there.
(CROWD CHEERING)
I did say before,
ECW may have not made legends or gods out of us,
but they sure as hell made men out of us.
(CROWD CHEERING)
Between you, you, you,
Dreamer, get your ass out here.
(CROWD CHEERING)
Dreamer and Tazz, get your asses out here.
All right, maybe they really don't like me.
(CROWD LAUGHING)
From guys like Chetti and Nova,
from Danny and Roadkill,
to the Judge Jeff Jones,
from Tom Marquez,
to the most beautiful women, Francine,
Dawn Marie...
(CROWD CHEERING)
...and God bless her heart, Beulah McGillacutty.
(CROWD CHEERING)
To Bill...
(LAUGHING)
Hee-hee!
To guys like Bill Alfonso
who has been in the business for 20 years,
has seen punk asses like me and him come and go.
You taught us a lot. Thank you very much.
We have nothing but respect for you, sir.
The hardest working World Heavyweight Champion this (BLEEP) sport has ever seen,
Tazz.
If you don't think he really gets up at 5:00
and does about 9,000 Hindu Squats,
beats up his dog, and then goes out and, like, rolls some cars and (BLEEP),
- you're wrong. - (CROWD LAUGHS)
He's a mean bastard, he's a miserable (BLEEP),
but he's our friend.
(CROWD CHEERING)
To this crazy son of a bitch,
who every summer when I go down to Jersey,
we go fishing together. I don't care, I'm giving it all away.
I don't give a (BLEEP).
Wait a minute, I know there's been a lot of hardcore guys come through this door.
But tacks, barb wire, fire, glass,
the kitchen sink? You name it, he took it.
(CROWD CHEERING)
If I forgot anybody or if we forgot anybody, we're sorry.
(CROWD CLAMORING)
Oh, you mean this guy?
(CROWD CHEERING)
Well, unfortunately, he's not here tonight.
But you know what? Sabu is an ECW original,
and if it wasn't for that crazy bastard doing flips and going through tables,
and breaking every single bone in his body for you people,
this company wouldn't be here.
(CROWD CHEERING)
I'm going to do something right now that I never thought
I would expose in the business.
That man sitting right over there in the blue shirt,
that's my father.
(ALL CHEERING)
And that girl sitting next to him is my sister.
(CROWD HOLLERING)
Hey! Shut the (BLEEP) up.
If it wasn't for you guys, I probably wouldn't be here...
if it wasn't for you, I definitely wouldn't be here tonight.
That's my friend Tony and that's the girl who's getting married in two months,
and I've been trying to hook up with that one for a year.
(CROWD CHEERING)
The bottom line is, this man right here had a vision six years ago,
and tomorrow night TNN brings that vision to life
for all the world to see.
(CROWD CHEERING)
And I think you would agree with me when I say this.
Vince McMahon right now doesn't have a lot to worry about,
but Eric Bischoff is runnin' (BLEEP) scared.
(CROWD CHEERING)
CROWD: (CHANTING) ECW!
( INDISTINCT SHOUTING)
(CROWD APPLAUDING)
Brother D-Von! Testify!
#1, shut the (BLEEP) up.
( INDISTINCT SHOUTING)
You know, I don't come out here saying too much besides testifying and all of that.
But I tell you what, being here at ECW, like Bubba said,
made us the men that we are today.
(CROWD CHEERING)
Without a shadow of a doubt,
this locker room is the hardest working crew in the business today.
(APPLAUSE)
I can't begin to tell ya,
no matter how many times we called each and every one of you out,
no matter how many times we cursed you,
you still had our back, you were still behind us,
and for that the Dudley Boyz want to thank you.
(CROWD CHEERING)
And one other person who for the past three years,
who put up with a lot of my (BLEEP),
a lot of my wrong-doings, was there for the hard times,
and is gonna enjoy the good times,
my lovely wife sitting right behind Bubba's sister,
Cecilia.
Thank you. I love you.
(CROWD APPLAUDING)
So for the last time, without any further ado,
the Dudley Boyz have just testified!
(CROWD CHEERING)
One second.
There's only one thing I want to hear,
and I know you're going to want to hear it,
before we leave this building.
We're not going to hear it for a long time.
CROWD: (CHANTING) Dance, Bubba, dance!
No, not that!
Why? Why'd you make me do it, man?
(CHANTING CONTINUES)
Hey, hey, hey, do it, or you're fired.
(CROWD LAUGHING)
Hit the Dudley Boyz music.
(CROWD CHEERING)
(CROWD CLAMORING)
- BUBBA RAY: Hold on. - MAN: This is all I've got for you.
BUBBA RAY: No, no, don't even bother playing it.
Listen, I forgot one person, I'm sorry.
CROWD: (CHANTING) Joey!
There is one guy that everybody has to admit in this building...
Everybody in this building would have to admit,
this guy's got a pretty messed up mind
to come up with some crazy (BLEEP) in his head.
But Joel Gertner is just (BLEEP) damn funny.
(CROWD CHEERING)
Hey, where's your neck brace?
Uh, if you people in the back would do me the honor,
I would appreciate if you all came in this ring right now.
And if you don't, I will kick every single one of your asses.
(CROWD CHEERING)
Tajiri and Super Crazy, I don't know if you understood a word I said,
but I love you guys anyway.
(CROWD CHEERING)
On behalf of Ron Buffone, who had to take pictures of your (BLEEP) asses.
On behalf of Charlie who got pelted with more debris
than I can begin to tell you.
On behalf of every member of our locker room that's in the ring.
And I think I speak for everybody in this (BLEEP) hot building tonight.
(CROWD CHEERING)
The only thing I think I speak for all of us when I say,
I got two words for you!
CROWD: Suck it!
HEYMAN: Thank you.
- ECW! - CROWD: ECW!
(CROWD CONTINUES CHANTING)
JERRY: Uh-oh.
JR: Well, this one has slobberknocker written all over it.
JERRY: How do you spell that?
JR: I'll get back to you later on that one.
JERRY: I've never seen anything like that Chyna.
JR: Bubba Ray and D-Von Dudley, believe it or not,
are half brothers, we are told.
JERRY: Oh, look, look, look, they're having to haul out...
JR: Moolah and Johnnie Mae Young, bless their hearts.
JERRY: Oh, look, I believe Johnnie Mae may have soiled her pants.
- (LAUGHS) - JR: Oh, you stop that.
They could've broken a hip.
JERRY: It's back to the nursing home with 'em, you know, they let them out
of the nursing home on Sunday afternoons.
Pretty day like this.
I bet they wish they had stayed in the biz.
JR: Well, they slapped Jarrett around.
- (JERRY CHUCKLES) - JR: For a while, I'll guarantee you that.
- JERRY: Oh, man. Uh-oh. - Be patient.
Bubba's got a speech impediment.
Charlotte, North Carolina,
(STAMMERING) Sucks!
JERRY: Uh-oh.
Sufferin' succotash!
(STUTTERING) We are the D-d-d...
Dudley Boyz!
JERRY: Now, don't laugh at that, that's not funny.
JR: Bubba and D-Von have the same father, we're told.
JERRY: Speech imped... What?
D-Von!
They're not making fun of me, are they?
Acolytes! You might have given your soul
to the dark side,
but your ass belongs to the Dudley Boyz.
JERRY: (CHUCKLES) Uh-oh.
Remember. Thou shall not steal! Ha!
Thou shall not kill!
Ha, and most of all,
thou shall not mess with the Dudleys!
JERRY: Well,
here come the Acolytes.
These guys have already brought a... A couple of guys back to the
extremely crappy wrestling...
- (BELL DINGS) - JR: Why do you say that?
JERRY: They promised the same thing to the Dudleys.
FINKEL: At a combined weight of 567 pounds,
Faarooq and Bradshaw!
The Acolytes!
JR: Dudley Boyz are former ECW Tag Team Champions.
- JERRY: Oh, boy. - And the fight is on here.
- (BELL DINGS) - Well, I'll tell you what,
I got a feeling where I've seen
smoother, kinder, gentler ballroom brawls in Muskogee
than we're going to see here.
And look at Faarooq just hammering away at Bubba Ray.
Bradshaw got him some of D-Von.
It's going to be Bubba Ray and Faarooq starting it out here.
And Jim Korderas, one of our regular officials,
has crossed the picket line, as you can see,
and has been assigned this match-up, King.
- JERRY: How'd he do that? - (BUBBA SHOUTING)
He's not sticking with the rest of the refs?
JR: Apparently not.
JERRY: He's a strike buster.
JR: Among other things I've heard him called today, but that's another issue.
JERRY: Well, that's good, maybe we'll have a... A well-officiated match.
JR: Bubba Ray went for that big splash. He's well over 300 pounds,
and Faarooq, the former Florida State all-American saw it coming.
Got the knees up, and here comes ol' Bradshaw.
And Bradshaw and Faarooq, along with the Dudleys will hurt you in a hurry!
- And they like it! - (EXCLAIMS)
JERRY: Well, that's why the Dudleys extreme form of fighting
fits right in here at the WWF.
And then the Acolytes are providing the greeting for him.
JR: Oh, Bradshaw. Did you see that shot right to the face?
JERRY: Yeah, greet this.
JR: The big boot right there.
And the elbow, the cover, and a near fall.
Well, that's not exactly the welcome wagon.
From the Acolytes welcoming the Dudley Brothers,
the Dudley Boyz here to the World Wrestling Federation.
JERRY: Come on, JR, tell the truth. What did you think of Moolah and Mae Young?
(LAUGHING)
JR: I think what Jarrett's done just repulses me, quite frankly.
JERRY: Now, come on, they got in the ring.
(LAUGHING) They got up out of their seats, you know...
JR: Yeah, they were real dangerous, weren't they? Here we go.
Bubba... Oh! Senton bomb by Bubba Ray.
(JERRY SHRIEKS)
JR: You talk about busting up the insides of Bradshaw, that move will do it.
There's a cover, and... Oh!
Two and a half count.
JERRY: Speaking of busting up, I bet they'll be a run on Bengay at Walgreens tonight.
JR: There is a WWF Tag Title match-up here tonight, ladies and gentlemen,
that was made earlier tonight on Heat,
the new champions, the New Age Outlaws,
will take on Edge and Christian,
and I can assure that both these teams, if they are able...
- JERRY: Oh! - Oh, my. What a suplex.
...will be watching that one, King.
JERRY: (LAUGHS) You think...
Do you think Moolah and Mae Young have reached menopause yet?
JR: Will you stop? Oh, my.
I think they may have already passed through the change.
JERRY: They'll be buying a quart of Absorbing...
- JR: All right. - They use Absorbing Senior! (LAUGHS)
JR: Bradshaw and Bubba Ray on the outside here.
Boy, you love to... You love the misery of others, don't you?
(JERRY LAUGHING)
Sometimes I find humor
- in the misfortune of others. - I'll tell you what.
What if Mae and Moolah heard what you were saying out here,
and come out here and take you out to the woodshed? Slap you around?
That wouldn't be good for your campaign in Memphis, now, King.
JERRY: What are they going to do? Hit me with their walkers, JR? Come on.
JR: Bradshaw sending Bubba Ray for the ride.
JERRY: Something like this happens to him every time they go to a big match like this.
You should have seen what happened to him
when they went to see the Christians versus the lions.
- (JERRY LAUGHS) - JR: Ugh.
There's a cover by Bradshaw.
And Bubba Ray got the shoulder up quickly there.
D-VON: Let's go, brother!
ECW that!
JERRY: Did you hear Faarooq? He said, "ECW that!"
- (GROANS) - JERRY: Uh-oh!
- Oh, no. Ooh! - Look out here. Nice move!
Bubba Ray with a suplex!
And got a near fall. Kept his hips in there,
with a nice belly-to-belly suplex on Bradshaw.
And makes the tag, does Bubba Ray,
to his brother D-Von.
JERRY: His half brother.
JR: All right, his half brother, D-Von.
- JERRY: Their father was Big Daddy Dudley. - That's what I heard.
- He got around, didn't he? - I guess.
JR: Would like to meet that guy.
- Bradshaw looking for the home run again. - Whoa!
JR: And D-Von
with a great shoulder block.
Using those ropes again for some momentum here.
JERRY: Ooh!
JR: Nice swinging neck breaker.
Will that be enough to keep Bradshaw down?
No, it won't, as Bradshaw kicks out.
- With authority. - (GRUNTS)
D-Von delivered those kicks right in the head.
Nothing else will do.
The Dudley's first WWF pay-per-view.
Here at Unforgiven.
This is a tough way to start.
- JERRY: You're not kiddin'. - Fall-away slam by Bradshaw.
Certainly, both these teams have the ability
to wear WWF tag gold.
Bradshaw, or, excuse me, Faarooq...
Shut the hell up!
JR: Got the tag and got the near fall.
- JERRY: Oh, boy! - That's power right there.
And that could be it.
No, it's not.
You gotta hand it to D-Von Dudley and Bubba Ray, both,
they're tougher than a $2 steak, and they're not gonna stay down.
JERRY: Uh-oh, watch it there, Faarooq.
Boom! Oh, man!
JR: Big-time DDT by D-Von Dudley
on Faarooq.
D-Von will be well served to make a tag here, it's where he's headed.
As Faarooq gets exchanged with Bradshaw.
And... And Bradshaw gets his body between D-Von and Bubba Ray's
to prevent the tag.
That was smart maneuvering by Bradshaw.
JERRY: Yeah.
JR: A lot of power in both these teams.
BUBBA RAY: Come on, D-Von!
- JERRY: Uh-oh! - Neither may write
a novel and the technical expertise of tag team wrestling.
But, boy, you wouldn't care to be in a dark alley with either one of these guys
on your side.
- JERRY: There comes Bubba! Oh, no! - Look out!
3-D, that's it, right there, the Dudley Death Drop!
That's gotta be all right there.
And, oh, Bradshaw got his shoulder up.
I think Bubba Ray was distracted by the outside.
BUBBA RAY: D-Von!
JR: Bubba hollerin' for D-Von,
Bradshaw... Bradshaw in a...
A lot of trouble!
What a powerbomb!
JERRY: That'd been one of scab refs, this match would...
JR: And a head-butt!
...already be over.
And it may be now.
JR: ls D-Von the legal man? I can't...
One, two...
And Bradshaw, somehow, someway, he kicked out,
and I don't know how Bradshaw did it.
JERRY: Two and seven eighths.
Is that your hat size?
JR: No.
JERRY: What's it gonna be now? What's this?
D-Von... D-Von with his back to Bradshaw.
- That was a mistake! - Oh!
JR: Faarooq shook the ropes and got D-Von off balance.
And now D-Von is in a hell of a bad way.
JERRY: Oh, no, watch this.
JR: Bubba Ray and Faarooq on the outside.
- (GRUNTING) - All the way to the top!
- JERRY: Look at the power! - All the way at the top!
A suplex right off the top!
And Bradshaw dropped D-Von Dudley on Dudley's head from that superplex.
(GROANING)
This is anybody's ballgame here.
JERRY: Man, Bubba Ray's been working on trying to clear up his speech impediment,
- if he'd have... - There's a cover.
Oh, I can't...
I'll tell you what. These teams are gonna hurt each other badly here
because they're throwing everything at each other that they can,
and nobody's been able to keep the other down.
JERRY: if Bubba Ray had got suplexed off that top rope,
he might not stutter anymore.
Oh, no.
Look out!
JR: Bradshaw caught from behind by Bubba Ray, look out.
That's gonna be it, right there.
One, two, and Bradshaw
reaches down with whatever's he's got left and kicks out.
But you gotta believe that there's not much left in the tank.
JERRY: Wait a minute.
There's that goof out there.
JR: What are you talking about?
JERRY: Oh, speaking of extremely crappy, look!
Right there, what am I talking about!
JR: Oh, Stevie Richards.
- JERRY: Well, what's he dressed like? - He's imperson...
Oh! Stevie Richards with a superkick!
Stevie Richards with the superkick!
Stevie's dressed like an Acolyte.
(BELL DINGING)
And The Acolytes have beaten the Dudleys!
- Stevie Richards helped. - FINKEL: Here are your winners, the Acolytes!
JERRY: Stevie is just as effective as an Acolyte, look!
Wait a minute, look at...
Look at them, just...
JR: He's got a UPN logo on his chest, King.
(JERRY LAUGHS)
I told you!
JR: Looks pretty good to me, but...
He just laid the smack down.
Oh, sorry, Rock.
And, uh-oh, I don't think the Acolytes appreciate
- the assist. - Oh, man!
JR: The Acolytes wanted to do this themselves.
Stevie Richards is trying to
ingratiate himself to a variety of people here.
JERRY: They say imitation is the sincerest form of flattery.
I don't think The Acolytes like to be flattered.
He's flattened.
- JR: And look at Faarooq. - Oh, thanks, buddy.
JR: Grabbing the limp hand of Stevie Richards
and saying, "Thanks, I guess."
So Stevie Richards is trying to get close to anybody he can in the WWF
with his imitations, a sincere form of flattery.
It didn't work this time for Stevie,
but it worked for The Acolytes, King.
JERRY: Well, he got a handshake out of the deal.
Look, Stevie Richards came in with the big kick.
He got the job done,
- but here's the thanks he got. - Yeah.
I think the next time I'd suggest to just send a card.
- Maybe make a phone call. - (LAUGHS)
MTV, maybe.
(DUDLEY BOYZ THEME SONG PLAYING)
(BELL DINGING)
FINKEL: The following contest
is our first ever tag team table match.
In order to determine the winner,
the team must drive their opponents consecutively through the table.
Introducing first, at a combined weight of 556 pounds,
D-Von, Bubba Ray,
the Dudley Boyz!
JR: The Dudley Boyz have been introduced in this capacity crowd here,
at Madison Square Garden,
and a very unique match-up,
- the first ever tag team table match. - D-Von!
Can you
(STAMMERS) believe
how ass backwards
the people in New York City are?
- (CROWD BOOING) - (JERRY CHUCKLES)
You people actually cheer for those
pretty boy punks, the Hardy Boyz!
(CROWD CHEERING)
But you have the nerve to boo a person,
the greatest pitcher in the history of baseball,
my new hero,
John Rocker!
- (CROWD BOOING) - JERRY: I don't know.
JR: Good grief.
That's distasteful as it can be.
D-VON: if you idiots were smart,
you would elect John Rocker as your mayor,
so he can clean up this miserable city.
- (CROWD CHEERING) - (CROWD BOOING)
JERRY: You know, John Rocker, that's Ted Turner's new...
And as far as the Hardy Boyz are concerned,
you might as well take your head,
put them between your legs,
and kiss your stinking asses goodbye!
(CROWD CHEERING)
- JERRY: And he didn't even stutter? - (HARDY BOYZ THEME PLAYING)
(CROWD CHEERING)
JR: They got a taxicab hung up in the rafters.
JERRY: Graffiti on the walls. FINKEL: At a combined weight...
JR: And here come the Dudleys right after the Hardys!
- (BELL DINGS) - Remember, you gotta drive your opponents
through consecutive tables, here, offensively.
Offensive moves
putting your opponents through two tables.
JERRY: I've never seen anything like this, JR.
Oh, my gosh! Ow!
JR: Full nelson right into that powerbomb by Bubba Ray Dudley
on Jeff Hardy as D-Von has Matt Hardy beaten down in the corner.
And the Dudleys are not wasting any time here.
JERRY: Here come the tables. (LAUGHS) Here they come!
JR: The first table.
These guys not wasting any time getting the furniture out.
Remember this is not for...
Pinfalls are irrelevant, and there's no disqualifications or count-out here.
The match only ends when both partners have been driven through tables.
JERRY: Okay.
- Look at this! - Oh! Jeff Hardy on his way to crash that table,
- saved by his brother, Matt... - Oh!
...who just DDT'ed Bubba.
- JERRY: Whoa, watch out! - And Jeff Hardy! Oh, my God!
JERRY: Good grief!
JR: Jeff Hardy.
Right over the top rope in Bubba Ray Dudley's face,
as Jeff Hardy's trying to set up this table.
And Matt Hardy grabbing a steel chair.
JERRY: Oh, we've got tables and chairs.
He's got... Oh!
JR: Look out, Bubba, on the outside.
And D-Von...
JERRY: Oh-oh, man!
- JR: Trying to powerbomb. - Suplex? Through the table!
JR: Table set up in the ring.
Not one has gone through a table yet. Nice suplex by D-Von Dudley
on Matt Hardy.
Ooh! A chair shot! My God!
- JERRY: Uh-oh. - That steel just ricocheted
off the skull of Bubba Ray Dudley.
And, oh... Jeff Hardy...
JERRY: I think I know what we're gonna see here.
JR: Look out, champ! On the rail!
- (CROWD EXCLAIMING) - Oh!
And he met the table, all right!
JERRY: Who got the worse end of that? I'm not really sure. Look!
JR: Bubba Dudley up on his feet.
JERRY: But he's reeling.
JR: Shot that table right in Jeff Hardy's face.
No one has yet to go through a table.
And remember, both partners must go through tables
for this match to conclude.
JERRY: Hope they've got plenty of tables.
Uh-oh.
JR: Bubba positioning that table in the ring now
with Matt Hardy in a very precarious way.
- And now Bubba Ray... - Goodbye, Matt!
- JR: Bubba Ray on the second rope... - No, look out!
JR: But Matt Hardy is up!
Matt Hardy is up.
There's his brother, Jeff.
Here comes D-Von.
JERRY: No table!
JR: D-Von moved the table away.
- (GROANING LOUDLY) - That was a smart move by D-Von.
A painful maneuver on Bubba Ray.
I tell you what, there's only one Jeff Hardy in this world.
And he... Oh, my God!...is in the WWF.
JERRY: Oh, no, look at this!
- JR: And now Hardy just pulled a ladder! - A ladder!
Wait, but, it's not a Ladder Match!
JR: it certainly isn't.
But the Hardys are using that ladder
to their advantage.
Remember, there is no disqualification in this first ever
- tag team... Oh, my! - Oh!
...table match-up!
JERRY: Now, both members of a team have to be driven consecutively through a table
in order for somebody to win,
but what's the ladder in there for, JR? That's like a...
JR: That's the Hardys, that.
They're awful comfortable on ladders.
We can remember that.
Uh-oh.
And again, Matt now setting a table up on the outside.
There's Bubba out there, no one has gone through a table, as of yet.
JERRY: Does it matter if the table's on the inside?
JR: it doesn't matter if the table's on the inside of the ring or the outside.
And another thunderous chair shot
to the skull of Bubba Ray Dudley.
JERRY: Bubba's head has gone through two chairs.
That count for anything?
JR: Counts for a hell of a headache on Monday morning.
JERRY: Oh, no, wait a minute.
JR: Matt Hardy is setting that ladder up on the outside.
- Here comes D-Von. D-Von... - Here comes D-Von.
JR: D-Von climbing the ladder, as well.
And Matt shoving D-Von off the ladder,
Bubba Ray on the table.
JERRY: Here we go!
We got it!
JR: And both Hardys, Matt and Jeff,
going airborne, and that's the first person through a table.
JERRY: Now, all they gotta do is get D-Von through one,
and the Hardys win.
JR: Exactly right. It's that simple.
Right now, the Dudleys are in a sudden-death situation.
(CROWD EXCLAIMING)
JR: Watch this.
Amazing.
JERRY: They came from everywhere.
JR: Jeff from the top rope.
And Matt from the top of the ladder.
- JERRY: Wow. - They converged at the same time,
in a hostile mood
on Bubba Ray Dudley.
- And Bubba is on... - Bubba...
JR: He looks like a drunk.
JERRY: Bubba Ray's eyes are glazed over,
and it's not from eating donuts.
Uh-oh, look at this.
JR: Bubba may have a concussion there,
and now the Hardys are rearranging some furniture now,
on the outside.
Remember, D-Von Dudley now,
if he gets placed through this table,
this match is over and the Hardys win.
Well, the Hardys are...
You talk about aggressive here,
taking every chance in the book.
- It's over, right here. - JERRY: Yep.
JR: Matt Hardy on top...
(CROWD EXCLAIMING)
- Bubba Ray... - (WOMAN SCREAMING)
...and Jeff Hardy head first,
a suicide dive onto D-Von Dudley's face,
but the match is gonna continue.
D-Von was not on the table.
JERRY: Well...
- Oh, my God! - God almight...
JERRY: We just saw both...
Okay, wait a minute...
Matt Hardy went through a table.
And then Jeff Hardy went through a table.
- But it's not over? - Absolutely not.
JERRY: Gotta be an offensive move.
JR: The Dudleys must put the Hardys through a table,
the Hardys can't put themselves through a table.
This match continues, in other words.
And, remember, D-Von Dudley's
gotta keep from going through a table, here,
for the Dudleys to not lose.
JERRY: Well, I don't think the Dudleys want this to end anyway,
they just seem to be enjoying themselves, now.
JR: The Dudleys have an advantage here.
Both the Hardys are down and hurting.
And the ring steps have been maneuvered into the ring.
JERRY: I'll bet these guys did well with an Erector set when they were little.
Uh-oh.
JR: There's gonna be some erection destruction here!
- JERRY: Oh! - (CROWD CHEERING)
JR: Good Lord!
Matt Hardy just got folded up like an accordion through that table,
and now we're down to one and one.
It's down to Jeff Hardy and D-Von Dudley.
The next one to go through a table.
JERRY: Look at Bubba Ray with that weird look in his eyes.
JR: Bubba has some sort of sadistic, perverse enjoyment out of these tables.
And that's a story that we may not want to know about.
JERRY: Look out!
Speaking of Bubba Ray's eyes,
he got his eye busted open last time by the Hardys... Oh!
JR: So, it's down to Jeff Hardy and D-Von Dudley.
The next one of those two men to go through a table,
from an offensive move by their opponents, will lose.
JERRY: What is he...
Bubba Ray just knocked our time-keeper out of his chair.
Where's he going?
JR: Bubba Ray's got a steel chair in the aisle way here.
- Our... Our four combatants... - (CROWD EXCLAIMING)
...in his first ever tag team table match-up.
JERRY: It's not a very safe place to be out there, guys.
JR: Well, I'll tell you what, King,
we said when we came on the air
this was gonna be a night that none of us would ever forget,
and thus far, it's exceeding that statement.
JERRY: Oh.
JR: Hard right hand by D-Von Dudley,
and the Hardys look like they've been in a bad car accident.
Well, maybe a car accident would be easier on them, physically.
JERRY: Wait a minute, what is Bubba Ray doing?
JR: Bubba Ray's got one table set up there in the entranceway.
Or the exit.
And D-Von trying to keep Jeff and Matt Hardy beaten down.
JERRY: Don't block those exits.
What is he doing?
JR: Bubba Ray Dudley...
(GRUNTING)
...is rearranging these tables.
I have no earthly idea.
And there's a low blow,
you saw that pretty clearly there
from D-Von Dudley on Matt Hardy.
JERRY: I don't know about the Hardys,
I didn't think it was too smart a move.
- But I guess you gotta... - What the hell is...
JERRY: You gotta give 'em credit to even get in the ring with these Dudleys.
I mean, you know what they're capable of,
and especially in this type of match.
JR: Bubba Ray is instructing his partner,
his half-brother D-Von.
JERRY: What's he doing?
- JR: That's Matt Hardy... - Oh, look at this!
JR: Jeff Hardy trying to get his brother out of this predicament, but...
JERRY: He may have just crushed his skull, right there.
JR: Bubba's got Jeff Hardy by the hair.
(CROWD BOOING)
Remember, it's down to Jeff Hardy and D-Von Dudley,
the next one to go through a chair will...
- This match will be over. - Wait a minute, wait a minute.
JR: And so might some careers,
if they haven't already been shortened here tonight.
JERRY: JR, these guys are up on the balcony here.
JR: What in the...
...in God's name is... Oh, no.
That's Matt Hardy, not Jeff.
JERRY: Oh!
- JR: A low blow by Jeff. - Oh, no.
JR: Jeff Hardy, the low blow to Bubba Ray...
And a shot...
A chair shot, right to his head.
- JERRY: Not again, no! Look out! - And Bubba...
Bubba's reeling, look out! Oh, my, God!
Bubba Dudley went through two tables to the concrete floor.
JERRY: Was that an offensive move?
Look out!
JR: You're looking for either D-Von Dudley or Jeff Hardy.
The next one to go through a table and this match will end.
JERRY: Oh, here we go!
This could be it, right here.
JR: D-Von on the table.
Jeff Hardy. Don't do it, Jeff.
Don't do it! My God!
(CROWD EXCLAIMING)
My God! A senton bomb from the balcony!
And D-Von Dudley has just been driven through the table.
(BELL DINGING)
- For God's sake! - (HARDY BOYZ THEME PLAYING)
FINKEL: Here are your winners,
- the Hardy Boyz. - JR: The Hardys have survived!
Or have they?
JERRY: Survived? They've won!
Look at this! He's broken in half, but he won!
JR: Jeff Hardy from the balcony with a senton bomb
that found D-Von Dudley on the table.
Total destruction.
JERRY: Oh.
JR: The Dudleys look like they've been in a gang fight.
Can you believe this match-up?
Can you believe Matt and Jeff Hardy?
JERRY: Looked like a tornado went through the
Madison Square Garden, here.
JR: And take a look back, just moments ago.
JERRY: The nasty plunge by Bubba Ray.
JR: Through two tables and then this,
a death-defying senton bomb.
JERRY: I still can't believe this. Look at this!
...from the balcony.
JERRY: Whoa!
JR: Threw another human being through a table to the concrete floor.
JERRY: These guys are insane!
Watch it, again.
JR: And I'll tell you what,
I don't think I've ever seen anything in my 25 years, King,
quite like that match-up, right there.
JERRY: (CHUCKLES) And I don't think the Dudleys ever
wanna see anything like it again, either.
Look at that look.
JR: Well, you gotta... Gotta believe
that as far as the Dudleys are concerned,
this one is, uh... May not be over.
'Cause they take a lot of pride in this environment.
It's Thursday on SmackDown,
Bubba going one-on-one with Mr. Ass.
And perhaps it was some of your own medicine, Bubba?
A Famouser from Mr. Ass
driving your head and your body
through a table in the center of the ring.
And tonight, Dudley Boyz,
you take on the New Age Outlaws.
You've been given a tag team title shot.
What do you mean, "given"?
Dudley Boyz weren't given anything.
We took what rightfully belongs to us.
Just like we had to take our respect
here in the World Wrestling Federation,
by throwing people through tables.
And tonight, at No Way Out,
we will become the new WWF Tag Team Champions.
The people have already seen
one title change hands tonight.
The people should get ready to see another.
Outlaws. (SCOFFS)
We got two words for you.
3D.
(OH, YOU DIDN'T KNOW? PLAYING)
ROAD DOGG: Oh, you didn't know?
Your ass better call somebody
JR: Perhaps the greatest team
in the history of the World Wrestling Federation.
Six-time WWF Tag Team Champions.
Hartford, Connecticut.
You damn bet.
You see, it's me, it's me.
It's that D-O-Double-G.
Vibing once again with sweet Billy-G.
JR: This should be a raucous match, King.
There's no telling what's gonna happen in this one.
JERRY: "Raucous?" That's putting it mildly.
(JERRY LAUGHS)
JR: The New Age Outlaws know they're in for a war here.
Where the Dudleys could have everything to gain, and nothing to lose.
Cut the music.
(MUSIC STOPS)
(CROWD CHEERING)
Hartford, Connecticut,
as well as the viewing world,
welcome to the Dogg house.
(JERRY BARKING)
(CROWD BARKING)
- JERRY: Doggy style, JR. - Where you know,
all the while, sportin' a smile,
me and Billy-G do it doggy style.
Not with each other, though, I didn't mean it like that.
(JERRY LAUGHS)
Now, then.
Let's see if we can't make a little noise up in this...
CROWD: This biatch!
Ladies and gentlemen, boys and girls, children of all ages,
D-Generation X proudly brings to you
its WWF Tag Team Champions of the World,
the Road Dogg, Jesse James,
the Bad Ass Billy Gunn,
the New Age Outlaws.
(CROWD CHEERING)
And, of course, if you're not down with that,
we got two words for ya.
CROWD: Suck it!
JR: Well, ladies and gentlemen,
last Thursday night on SmackDown,
we saw the amazing athleticism of Billy Gunn.
The Famouser on Bubba Ray Dudley.
In their one-on-one match-up, right through a table.
JERRY: Man, he went over six feet in the air,
and came right down on Bubba Ray. Uh-oh.
(WE'RE COMIN' DOWN PLAYING)
JR: And, of course, the Dudleys' legacy, the WWF,
has been written in splinters and broken bodies,
both male and female.
(BELL DINGING)
FINKEL: The following is for the World Wrestling Federation
Tag Team Championship.
Introducing the challengers,
at a combined weight of 556 pounds,
Bubba Ray, D-Von, the Dudley Boyz.
JR: This is, indeed, for the WWF Tag Team Championship.
- There are the challengers. - Oh, look out!
- JR: They're not wasting any time. - You're not kiddin'.
- JR: Here we go. - (BELL DINGING)
With the tag team titles on the line.
Well, this is about as unpredictable a pairing,
because of the Dudley style,
- as we may ever see, King. - Wait a minute.
I think Bubba Ray just lost his glasses.
That could be a big disadvantage.
JR: Referee Teddie Long forcing Badd Ass Billy Gunn on the outside.
As is the Road Dogg and Bubba Ray Dudley kicking it off here.
JERRY: Oh, look at this!
JR: And Bubba Ray... Oh, my!
- A full nelson into an atomic drop. - Wow.
JR: A right hand by Bubba on Badd Ass Billy Gunn.
JERRY: Oh, no!
JR: Oh, look out, the referee's back's turned.
- Look out! Hey, ref! - (JERRY YELLS)
JR: Man, that is a big move here, in the early-going of this match-up.
That low blow by D-Von Dudley,
Bubba Ray's half-brother,
D-Von came off the second rope, and he scored big time.
JERRY: Well, you heard what the Dudleys said,
- we've seen one title change hands. - The cover!
Road Dogg, boy, he's...
It took everything, King, the Road Dogg had to kick out that time.
JERRY: He may not be doing it doggy style for...
We may see the tag team titles change hands here too.
JR: We have a new Intercontinental Champion.
Could lightning strike twice in two successive matches?
Oh! Another exchange by the Dudleys,
D-Von out, Bubba Ray in.
And look at Bubba Ray keep his back between
the Road Dogg and Badd Ass Billy Gunn,
which quite frankly, is very good, sound, tag team strategy.
JERRY: All right, JR, I'm gonna ask you to go out on a limb here,
I'm gonna ask you to do a little prognosticating.
What do you think the Dudleys' chances
of winning the tag team titles are?
I heard you say that the New Age Outlaws
are probably the greatest tag-team in WWF history, but...
JR: I don't think the chances of the Dudleys are very good right now.
JERRY: You don't think the Dudleys chances are very good?
JR: You asked me.
You gonna criticize me for being honest?
Or not agreeing with you?
- I know... I know you like the damn Dudleys. - I don't know about you, JR.
JR: I don't like the damn Dudleys.
JERRY: I wouldn't say that I like the guys,
- I just, uh... I'm impressed by them. - Sunset flip! Sunset flip!
Referee got a two-count out of it.
Look out, look out, look out!
- JERRY: Oh! - I mean, they...
The treatment that they have had
of the ladies in the WWF,
and some of the male athletes as well.
Driving human beings through those tables like they were animals.
JERRY: I didn't say I liked that, JR.
You know, I just said, they were impressive.
JR: Well, they can be. Yes, they are.
JERRY: They're capable of winning any time they step in the ring.
JR: That's a chokehold, right there.
- That's an impressive chokehold. - You're right.
The Dudleys will do absolutely anything
they have to do to win a match.
And then they'll go beyond the call of duty sometimes.
JR: They certainly do, do the Dudleys.
And another tag made. Bubba Ray in, D-Von out.
Still focusing on the Road Dogg, who... Ooh!
JERRY: What about the fact that, uh,
I think most people realize that Terri is back tonight.
She is here.
But she's already asked The Acolytes
for some protection against these two guys.
JR: Fans have joined us on Heat, on the USA Network...
(YELLING)
...they are aware that Terri has returned
and we'll, in all actuality, see her later tonight.
JERRY: She said, all she's been seeing in her sleep are tables.
Every time she closes her eyes, she sees tables.
JR: The Acolytes will have Terri's back tonight,
thanks to her investment in the APA.
There's another cover, tag team titles! Ooh!
JERRY: They'll have her back,
- what's wrong with her front? - Come on!
JR: Well, nothing I don't think,
but it was a figure of speech.
JERRY: I can't wait to see Terri back.
She does have a nice figure, too, JR.
JR: Road Dogg in a bad, bad corner.
The corner of the damn Dudleys.
And thus far, the Road Dogg has been unable to make a tag
to Bad Ass Billy Gunn.
And another knock-down.
And yet another tag.
These Dudleys are...
They're operating like a well-oiled machine here, quite frankly.
Let's go!
JERRY: Yeah, they're doing a real good job
of keeping Road Dogg away from his partner.
Oh, look out!
I just hope that they don't get that confused
with who's calling them the "damn" Dudleys.
I hope they realize it's you, JR.
JR: Well, Bubba Dudley up on the second row.
- And... Oh! - Oh! Hey!
JR: Bad Ass Billy Gunn bought his partner some time.
JERRY: Where did that punch go?
JR: And you saw the results of it, it went below the belt.
- JERRY: Look out! Man! - There's a solid suplex.
The Road Dogg reached down
to the bottom of his boots
to suplex Bubba Dudley off the second turnbuckle.
- (SCREAMING) - JERRY: Uh-oh.
He's hurtin'.
Bubba's hurt bad.
JR: Well, Road Dogg missed a great opportunity to make a tag here.
Road Dogg's crawling to his corner.
Will try to tag Mr. Ass.
And there's the tag.
JERRY: Oh, look out!
JR: Mr. Ass in.
Right hands, clotheslines.
- JERRY: Whoa! - Oh, my God!
- JERRY: Oh, my gosh! - Look at the elevation.
The Road Dogg is ownin'...
- Here are the Badd Ass... - JERRY: Oh, my gosh.
JR: He's ownin' the Dudleys here.
- There's a cover. That's gonna be all. - REFEREE: One, two...
JR: Oh! Oh, heck.
Bubba Dudley pulled him,
Badd Ass Billy Gunn, right off the top.
JERRY: Right out here in front of us, too.
- JR: The Road Dogg back in with a cover. - REFEREE: One, two...
JR: And wait, Bubba Dudley...
- JERRY: Oh! - God Almighty.
For the love of God!
Bubba Dudley just hit Billy Gunn in the shoulder with a lead pipe.
JERRY: I told you these guys would do anything they need to do to win a match, JR.
JR: Referee got knocked down.
Yeah, I think that was inadvertent.
Badass Billy Gunn, he's liable to pounce, and there's the 3D!
JERRY: They got him!
JR: The Dudley Death Drop!
- JERRY: Wait a minute! - (REFEREE COUNTS OFF)
- JR: This is gonna be... - REFEREE: Two, three...
(CROWD CHEERS)
JR: We've got new tag team champions!
The damn Dudleys are the new tag champions.
JERRY: I guess you gotta eat your black hat now, don't ya, JR?
FINKEL: The new World Wrestling Federation Tag Team Champions,
the Dudley Boyz.
JERRY: Oh, man!
JR: I'll tell you what, that pipe had a little bit to do
with the Outlaws losing the tag team titles here.
JERRY: We've had two matches. We've seen two titles change hands.
You know what I'm thinking?
D-VON: I told you, testify! JERRY: That doesn't bode well for Triple H.
JR: I don't recall that ever happening in the history of the WWF in pay-per-view.
Two title matches in a row and two new champions crowned.
JERRY: I don't think Road Dogg realizes
that Billy got blasted with that lead pipe.
JR: There's no way.
There's no way that he could have known that, I don't think.
The Outlaws having some... Having some words here.
JERRY: Well, you gotta admit Billy didn't really hold up his end
of the bargain on that match.
JR: I don't wanna say that at all. Look at this!
Look at the shot right to his shoulder.
(GRUNTS)
He hit him right in the... Right on top of that shoulder, did Bubba Dudley.
JERRY: And of course, that led to the 3D Death Drop!
JR: Here we go, ladies and gentlemen, 18,128 have jammed
into this beautiful, new facility here in Raleigh, North Carolina.
And one of the matches that they wanna see is here now.
(BELL DINGS)
FINKEL: The following contest is a Table, Ladders, and Chairs Match
for the World Wrestling Federation Tag Team Championship.
Entering the ring at a combined weight of 462 pounds,
the World Wrestling Federation Tag Team Champions,
Christian and Edge.
JR: And, folks, let's get the rules
- straight here, King. - Yeah.
- JR: No pinfalls, no count-outs... - Right.
...no disqualifications and no submissions.
The only way to win the match is to climb the ladder...
(WE'RE COMIN' DOWN PLAYING)
JERRY: Oh, man!
...and retrieve the tag team belts that are hangin' over the ring.
FINKEL: At a combined weight of 556 pounds,
D-Von, Bubba Ray, the Dudley Boyz!
JR: The Dudley Boyz, the master of the tables.
JERRY: Yeah, but they're not gonna be able to reach those tag titles
- just by standing on tables. - You're right.
JERRY: They're gonna have to master some ladders tonight.
JR: Tables, ladders, and chairs are all legal.
Forget about pinfalls, forget about tags,
forget about submissions or count-outs,
- forget about disqualifications. - (LOADED PLAYING)
- And here comes the hometowners. - Oh, boy!
The Hardy Boyz!
(CROWD CHEERS)
- Whoa, they're fired up, JR! - FINKEL: And...
(BELL DINGS)
JR: The Hardys from the great state of North Carolina,
from just down the road, in Cameron.
JERRY: Finkle didn't even get to make his announcement of the Hardys.
JR: Well, we saw the Hardys, Edge and Christian, and the Dudleys
get into a brawl earlier tonight on Heat, for our fans that were joining us there.
JERRY: Now wait a minute.
Those chairs belong to Edge and Christian.
What are the Hardys doing with them?
JR: Bubba Ray just caught that steel chair right in the face.
- (CROWD EXCLAIMS) - JERRY: Oh, man!
JR: Right back to Jeff Hardy.
JERRY: (LAUGHS) This is working out great for Edge and Christian.
They brought their chairs in the ring,
they were confiscated by the Hardys,
and now the only ones damaged with those chairs are the Hardys and the Dudleys.
JR: Obviously the goal here is to incapacitate your opponents
to the degree that a ladder can be set up,
the ladder can be climbed...
- JERRY: Look at this! -...and those WWF Tag Team... Oh, my!
Drop toe-hold, face-first into the chair.
...those belts can be pulled down.
That's gonna take a 20-foot ladder to get it done, though, King.
JERRY: Edge and Christian are the masters of chairs. They're the chairmen of the WWF.
Uh-oh, now they're bringing the ladders.
JR: Here comes out Edge, bringing a ladder into the ring.
JERRY: I don't think that ladder will get it done.
JR: I think you might be right.
- (GRUNTS) - JR: And... Oh!
Oh, no. Face first right back into that ladder.
JERRY: Ladder will get that done.
JR: And a DDT by Bubba Ray on Christian.
WWF Tag Team Titles hanging high above the ring.
CROWD (CHANTING): We want tables!
JERRY: This crowd, 18,128 people want tables.
Hey, there they go!
JR: Bubba Ray going upstairs.
Looking for those tag team belts.
JERRY: Bubba Ray too heavy to be up that high.
Oh!
JR: Double powerbomb by Matt and Jeff Hardy...
JERRY: And then a table.
-...on Bubba Ray Dudley. - Table for the exclamation point.
JR: Wouldn't it be fitting for Matt and Jeff Hardy to
walk out of here with the tag team titles.
Grown up just down the road in Cameron, North Carolina.
JERRY: Well, they're the most adept with those tables.
I'm going to make a bold prediction here, I'm gonna...
I'm gonna pick the Hardys.
JR: And D-Von Dudley got a shot in on Jeff Hardy,
and now here comes... There's Christian. Three men on a ladder.
JERRY: Look at this!
JR: My God, a double Russian leg sweep from the ladder, down goes all three men!
JERRY: Don't know how smart that was, Edge.
JR: Well, Christian could come in the back door here and get up that ladder.
This one would be over.
Christian looking to go upstairs. Bubba Ray...
JERRY: He's climbing two ladders at once.
JR: Bubba staggers back up.
And Bubba with a shot to the kidneys of Christian.
And now Bubba goes upstairs, there's the tag belts.
JERRY: Told ya, I think they're gonna need bigger ladders.
Uh-oh.
- My gosh! - God!
- For the love of God, did you see that? - Did I ever!
- (CROWD CHEERS) - JR: God almighty!
JERRY: Unfortunately, Christian felt it.
- JR: Bubba Dudley used that full nelson... - Oh, look out!
...almost into an atomic drop.
That is unreal!
- JERRY: Can we see that again? - That just jammed Christian's spine!
JERRY: Watch how Christian lands. Oh, man.
JR: You won't sprain any ankles the way he landed. That spine got compressed.
JERRY: I'm not even gonna say what that could do for your hip... Never mind.
JR: Jeff, Jeff Hardy. Jeff Hardy in the...
And the excitement here, got the ladder set back up, looking to go upstairs.
- And Christian... Oh, God almighty! - Oh!
JR: How do you learn to fall off a damn ladder without hurtin' yourself? You don't.
JERRY: Oh, my God.
- What happened there? Did... - It looks like a car wreck.
JERRY: Man, I want to... Let me see this again.
Watch this. Watch this seesaw effect.
(CROWD CHEERING)
JR: I have never seen anything quite...
JERRY: His hat's gotta be hurt, bad.
JR: No doubt about that, King. No doubt about that.
- And now the... - The double chairs!
JR: Edge and Christian,
- I think they hurt themselves. - Chairs and ladders!
JR: And just got knocked down by Bubba Dudley.
- JERRY: Oh, my! - That ladder right in the face of Jeff Hardy,
who tried to protect himself with that steel chair.
JERRY: There might not be anything left of anybody when this match is over, JR.
Now what's... What's D-Von gonna do?
You can't reach the belts from over there, D-Von!
JR: D-Von knows where he is.
D-Von and Bubba Ray, scoop slam by Bubba.
Oh, no! We know what's coming up, here, King.
JERRY: Whassup! Here it comes!
Whassup!
Whassup!
Ah! You're too high!
- High! Oh! - (CROWD EXCLAIMS)
JR: D-Von sticking his face in Edge's business.
JERRY: Uh-oh.
You know what they want now. They wanna get wood.
- They wanna get... - D-Von!
- What? -...chairs, they've had ladders...
- Get the tables! - JERRY: Tables! Oh, my!
JR: Bubba feels some wood coming on.
JERRY: Oh-oh!
JR: D-Von and Bubba Ray are in control here.
The Hardys are down and hurtin'.
JERRY: I think D-Von forgot the tables are already out there at ringside.
Here they go.
JR: Jeff Hardy under a couple of ladders.
Matt Hardy trying to get back in the ring.
Christian got knocked down again by Bubba, as does Matt Hardy.
And here comes D-Von with one of those Dudleyville tables.
JERRY: Right at this point in time, the safest place to be is under some ladders.
Don't expose yourself to the table!
JR: The damn Dudleys are looking for some wood!
JERRY: 3D! Oh!
JR: And Christian, his torso thrown through the table.
BUBBA RAY: D-Von! Let's kill them! JERRY: It's broke in half.
I mean, they may have done Christian in, but you know what, JR?
That's not gonna win the Dudleys the titles!
They've gotta climb a ladder!
JR: if they eliminate the competition, they will.
That's what they're trying to do here.
Eliminate everybody that's standing and breathing!
JERRY: I think Christian is successfully eliminated, but there's three more to go!
JR: Well, D-Von...
JERRY: They've got three tables to go!
- JR: Dudley's got another table! - Oh, wait a minute.
- What is this? - Another table.
JERRY: What are they gonna do here?
JR: You're looking at four tables here!
JERRY: Tables! Get your tables!
JR: My God! Table for four! Table for two!
JERRY: I've heard of a four corners match, but not a four tables!
What are they gonna do here?
These guys are becoming carpenters.
JR: Two tables stacked on top of two tables
- by the Dudleys. - BUBBA RAY: Come here, pretty boy!
- JERRY: Oh, no. - And now the Dudleys...
JERRY: Jeff, this don't look good for you, son.
- And look out! - From behind, King.
BOTH: Oh!
- JR: Oh, what a shot! - Sounds like a gunshot!
JR: Oh, and another shot right to the cranium of Bubba Ray Dudley.
He won't go down. There he goes.
And Matt Hardy, Twist of Fate on Christian.
- Jeff Hardy over here! - JR: But remember, no pinfalls.
JERRY: He don't want a pinfall, he wants to get up that ladder.
The North Carolinians are gonna be proud...
Wait, what are you gonna do? Matt!
He's going for the bounce!
JR: These Hardys, from Cameron, North Carolina looking
to become the tag team champions in their home state.
JERRY: Now what?
Oh, no. This Jeff scares me.
What's he gonna do here?
- JR: Jeff Hardy will put his life... My God! - Look at this!
What are you thinking?
JR: Jeff Hardy leap-frogged from the top turnbuckle over the ladder.
JERRY: How could he even get up? Watch this!
- Oh, 20 feet! Oh! - God almighty!
Where have you ever seen anything like this but the WWF?
- JERRY: Look at this! Unbelievable! - Right in the face of Edge.
JERRY: Now what?
I'm begging somebody to set the ladder, climb up and go after those title belts!
JR: All right... Oh, look at Edge. Edge being put between the ladder now.
JERRY: Oh, watch yourself! Oh, very dangerous!
- JR: Good God! - Oh!
JR: Christian, now, back part of your screen. Look at him.
- Look at Jeff... - Oh!
JR: He's wearing Christian out with that ladder. On the outside is Jeff Hardy.
- Or Matt Hardy. - No!
JR: My God! Oh, my God!
Jeff... Or Matt Hardy and Christian
getting on the same page, at least for the blink of an eye.
JERRY: I cannot believe what I just saw.
That's gotta break some ribs!
Christian's gotta be... Get out of this.
JR: My God, have we ever seen anything like this in our lives?
I know I haven't.
This is amazing.
JERRY: Watch this throw! Oh!
JR: Now he's using Edge's own tag team partner...
JERRY: Here we go! Look at what happened.
...against him.
- JERRY: Look out, look outside! - Oh, my God!
JR: Jeff Hardy is over 20 feet, for the love of God, a death-defying leap!
JERRY: Don't do it! Oh!
- JR: Senton! And nobody there! - (CROWD CHEERING)
JR: Jeff Hardy's spine and his back
cracking those tables! For the love of God, look at that!
Two tables broken, and a man's body broken in half.
JERRY: That's it for Jeff Hardy. Matt, you're on your own.
Watch this!
You're right. Over 20 feet. Ooh!
JR: That's a 20-foot ladder.
JERRY: Bubba Ray would be a pancake if he hadn't moved. Look at that.
JR: Jeff Hardy looks like he's been thrown out of a moving vehicle.
JERRY: And Matt realizes he's got to go it on his own now.
JR: Matt Hardy is by himself here.
And Matt Hardy now with that big 20-foot ladder in the ring.
Christian and Bubba Ray on the outside.
JERRY: Well, I can tell you, JR, at this rate, Shane McMahon
is gonna have some company in the emergency room at the nearby hospital.
JR: Medical facility's gonna be busy tonight.
I hate to say that, but it certainly looks that way.
JERRY: I'd almost forgotten about those championship belts up there.
Look at the height of this...
Bubba Ray gets creamed.
JR: Like I said, that's a 20-foot ladder.
That is a hellacious painter's ladder, 20-feet high.
JERRY: They're all going, four men, Edge, Christian, D-Von, Matt Hardy.
JR: One Hardy, one Dudley, and two tag champions.
- JERRY: Uh-oh. - What's Christian got? He's got Matt...
- JERRY: Oh! - Good God!
- A reverse DDT. - Look at D-Von! Ooh!
JR: D-Von and Edge.
JERRY: Everybody's down.
JR: D-Von and Edge down.
JERRY: Bubba Ray got blasted outside by that... By that chair.
He don't know where he's at, he's in la la land.
JR: Bubba Ray don't know if he's in North Carolina or North Dakota.
JERRY: Jeff Hardy won't wake up until sometime next week.
He's still lying in between those tables. Look at Bubba Ray!
JR: Bubba Ray's got a chance to get up that ladder, become the tag team champions.
JERRY: He's positioning the ladder right under those title belts.
JR: Bubba Ray's the only one of the six in this match that's vertical.
JERRY: There you go, now you're under it.
- Here he goes! - Bubba Ray's gotta be seeing double here.
Bubba Ray's up! The Dudleys are gonna do it!
JERRY: Going for the belt in the middle!
JR: The Dudleys are gonna do it. He's 20 feet in the air!
JERRY: Bubba Ray!
JR: Oh, no!
Good God!
That human body went 20 feet up a ladder,
through four tables!
JERRY: He's done four.
This is unbelievable, JR!
Carnage!
Watch this!
JR: I have never seen carnage like this!
JERRY: Bubba Ray weighs nearly 300 pounds. Oh!
JR: Bubba Ray Dudley!
Oh! Edge and Christian,
the tag team champions, save their titles by pushing Bubba through four tables.
JERRY: Look at Jeff Hardy. He's still laying in between tables.
You've got Bubba Ray, smashed through four tables.
JR: We're gonna need more than one ambulance here.
- (CROWD BOOING) - JERRY: D-Von's down.
Matt Hardy... I don't even know where Matt is.
And there goes Edge and Christian.
JR: Edge and Christian!
JERRY: Each of them going up one side of the ladder.
JR: They're the tag team champions.
Everybody is now decimated.
- Hey, wait a minute! - What is this?
- JR: It's Lita. - It's Lita!
- (CROWD YELLING) - Look at... Ah!
JR: Lita!
Edge and Christian were about to get their belts and retain their titles,
but Lita came out.
- The WWF Women's Champion! - Jeff, Matt, go!
- JERRY: Lita, what are you doing? - Lita helpin' the Hardy Boyz!
JERRY: She's screaming for Matt to go. Go, Matt!
- Come on, get up! - JR: There's your opportunity, Matt!
You're at home, son, go up that ladder!
JERRY: Get up there!
Get the ladder, you've got 18,128 of your fellow statesmen screaming for ya!
Don't waste time, go!
JR: Everybody is gonna be proud of the Hardy Boyz.
LITA: You've got it, Matt.
JR: Get up there, Matt.
- You've got the doors open. - Don't look down!
Just go!
D-Von! D-Von!
Here comes D-Von.
And here comes D-Von.
JR: Oh, my God, no, no, no, no! Oh, my God! No!
JERRY: No!
JR: Matt Hardy just went off backwards,
he just went off backwards, on those tables.
JERRY: I'm afraid Lita couldn't save him from that.
JR: Lita bought the Hardys some time.
- LITA: Ow! - JR: Oh, a spear, that son of a bitch!
Did you see what Edge did, King?
JERRY: And I heard what you said, JR.
JR: Ah, sorry about that, but damn it. A man shouldn't do that.
I mean...
- JERRY: That could have broken her ribs. - Yeah, or worse.
- JERRY: Watch this. - Look how close it was.
- With that ceiling cam. Oh, this is scary. - JR: He's touchin' the belt.
- JERRY: Look at this! - Oh, my God!
- JERRY: Watch this spear. - This is sickening.
LITA: Ow!
JERRY: He could have broken her sternum.
I think he knocked her head right into the back of that ladder.
JR: And now, by God, I can't believe it.
BOTH: Jeff Hardy's back up.
- JERRY: How's he doing it? - And D-Von is back up.
It's anybody's ballgame. Who's gonna be the champions?
The Dudleys or the Hardys?
JERRY: Jeff's got his hand on the titles.
- JR: He's touchin' the belt. - He's so close to the promised land.
JR: Jeff is touching the gold.
JERRY: They gotta fight for it right here, good he's got 'em. No, wait, D-Von's got 'em!
Wait a minute, they've both got... Who's gonna be the champion if they both... Ah!
- JR: My God, they're hanging... - Now what?
- JR: D-Von and Jeff Hardy are hanging... - What the heck!
...for their lives high above the ring.
JERRY: No, no, no.
JR: D-Von knocked down!
Get the belt, Jeff!
Look at Edge and Christian, they'll grab him!
- The pounding... - Oh!
JR: They knocked Jeff right off the... Right off the roof.
JERRY: Well, he was a pinata!
(CROWD BOOING)
JERRY: Look at this!
JR: Jeff Hardy was left hangin', as was D-Von Dudley.
- Thanks to Edge and Christian! - Because of Edge and Christian!
- JR: My God, what an exchange that was! - Everybody's...
Everybody's decimated. Somebody's gotta stop 'em.
Look at Jeff... Oh, Jeff, I think his ankle's broken.
- They've got one, they've got both of them! - (BELL DINGS)
JR: Edge and Christian have done it!
- Damn it! - FINKEL: The winners of this match,
and still tag team champions, Christian and Edge!
JERRY: JR, I think we've seen it all now!
JR: I don't think I've ever seen anything in my life like we have just witnessed.
JERRY: Wow.
You've gotta love the WWF.
JR: These six young studs put their careers on the line
for everybody watching around the world here tonight,
and somehow, some way, the biggest crybabies in the match,
Edge and Christian, retain their tag team titles.
JERRY: Oh, come on. Give the devils their due.
Anybody that came out on top of that match deserves a world of credit,
no matter whether you like 'em or not.
That was a great match.
JR: Good point, King, you're right about that.
I'm disappointed the Hardys couldn't come home and win the tag team titles.
JERRY: Let's go back and see some of this. This was... Look at Bubba Ray Dudley.
Unreal.
And then D-Von!
D-Von and Jeff Hardy just hanging.
Hanging in the air like I said, like two pinatas.
JR: The Dudleys and the Hardys were that close
to becoming the tag team champions.
JERRY: Watch D-Von when he hit the ground here.
Ooh, man!
JR: Right on the spine, and now look at Edge and Christian, they're ramming
to get Jeff Hardy down.
JERRY: Like a pinata, they knocked him right down, and they get the...
Prize.
JERRY: They get the WWF Tag Team Championships.
Unreal.
JR: King, you and I have been to a rodeo or two, as they say.
I don't think I've ever seen anything quite like this, and this crowd here
are giving these six men a standing ovation, and rightfully so.
Everybody on their feet, and rightfully so, I can tell you.
What a match! I love it! I loved it!
JR: And we ain't over yet folks.
(ELECTRIFYING PLAYING)
CHIMEL: And his tag team partner, from Miami, Florida,
weighing in at 270 pounds,
he is the World Wrestling Federation Champion,
The Rock!
MICHAEL COLE: Will this be The Rock's last 10 days as champion?
His back is against the wall at Unforgiven,
with three men gunning for his WWF Title.
But tonight, King, The Rock must work with one of his opponents in Unforgiven,
the Undertaker, in the Dudley Boyz specialty, a table match.
JERRY: Oh, man.
Look at the Dudley Boyz, they're not friends with anybody.
MICHAEL: The Dudley Boyz haven't lost many table matches in their career.
And the object of the match is simple,
first team to put their opponent through a table wins.
JERRY: Look at The Rock. You know, Monday night I had dinner with Charles Barkley,
and he thinks The Rock...
Charles Barkley thinks that The Rock is going to be able to retain his title
at Unforgiven.
I don't think Charles knew Monday night about this little zero-tolerance match tonight.
MICHAEL: Well, you can feel the electricity.
And imagine the electricity Sunday in Champaign, Illinois,
The Rock is headlining a huge card there.
Just like the Undertaker in Moline, Illinois, this Saturday night.
JERRY: There's tension for you, right there.
MICHAEL: Well, the Undertaker and Rock better not let tension get the best of them.
(BELL DINGS)
This is a zero-tolerance match-up.
If The Rock and Undertaker engage in physicality against each other in this match,
there's going to be no Fatal 4-Way at Unforgiven.
Don't you worry about me, you gotta worry about him!
You shut your mouth.
MICHAEL: And now it's The Rock and the Undertaker
teaming together in a table match against the Dudleys.
And The Rock locks up in the center of the ring against Bubba Ray Dudley.
And, King, you have to believe The Rock may be looking to leave,
the next 10 days could be his last 10 days as champion.
What a clothesline by The Rock!
JERRY: Yeah, it could be... But, oh, man, boot!
MICHAEL: And Bubba Ray Dudley turning the tables, no pun intended,
on The Rock, The Brahma Bull,
and what a chop by Bubba Ray Dudley.
JERRY: Don't mention tables when these guys are this close to us.
MICHAEL: Well, the Dudleys, an extremely popular team, of course, forced into this
match-up against The Rock and the Undertaker by Commissioner Mick Foley.
Look out. Rock with a right hand to Bubba Ray Dudley.
Hammerin' away!
Oh, man.
Unforgiven, Fatal 4-Way in just 10 days.
We also learned tonight that King will take on Tazz.
We learned the Hardy Boyz will take on Edge and Christian
in a steel cage match-up. All at Unforgiven.
What a right hand. The strength and the power of the Undertaker,
who would like nothing better then to put the title around his waist
in Philadelphia a week from Sunday.
JERRY: And did you see when the Rock tagged the Undertaker?
That was almost... That was reminiscent of Kurt Angle and Triple H.
That was a pretty hard tag, in my view.
- MICHAEL: Uncanny, amazing balance. - Look at this.
MICHAEL: This is vintage Undertaker.
- JERRY: Look out! - 6'10" and a half,
330 pounds into Bubba Ray Dudley.
And the Undertaker with a clothesline to Bubba Ray Dudley.
Here comes D-Von.
And he just runs into a cement wall.
But it causes the Undertaker to be distracted for just a moment,
and Bubba Ray Dudley takes control in this table match-up.
JERRY: This table match, you know, these damn Dudleys, that's their specialty.
Talk about them being popular... Ooh! Popularity doesn't even come into play
when you're in the ring with guys like The Rock and the Undertaker.
You're just gotta try to survive.
MICHAEL: Yeah, you've got it, survival.
Bubba Ray Dudley, suplex on the Undertaker.
And Bubba Ray with a tag to D-Von.
The Brahma Bull looking on as the Undertaker is backed up into the rope by D-Von Dudley.
Look at D-Von with the elbow to the face of the Undertaker.
Come on, boy!
MICHAEL: The object of the match-up to put your opponent through a table to win it.
JERRY: I don't think I'd be calling the Undertaker "boy" if I was D-Von.
MICHAEL: Undertaker rips across the ring...
Ooh! What a boot to the face of D-Von Dudley.
And here comes the Undertaker with a clothesline to D-Von.
JERRY: And this entire audience, now they're chanting, "We want table!"
MICHAEL: There was a tag from the Undertaker to The Rock.
They worked well together that time, King.
D-Von off the ropes, Rock missed his right hand.
Oh, it's D-Von Dudley knocking down The Brahma Bull.
JERRY: Tell you what, these people are something else, they don't care who
goes through a table, they just wanna see somebody go through a table.
MICHAEL: Rock off the ropes.
Double team by the Dudley Boyz and a double team on the Undertaker as well.
I don't know if that was wise,
- knocking the Undertaker down. - These people...
Now that I think about it, these people here in Phoenix are kind of like me.
I just wanna see somebody go through a table.
MICHAEL: Bubba Ray Dudley stomping away at The Rock.
The Brahma Bull in trouble. The WWF Champion in trouble. And look out!
JERRY: Watch. Listen!
Whassup! (CHUCKLES)
MICHAEL: D-Von Dudley, top rope...
To the lower extremities of the champion.
JERRY: Man!
Hey!
He's testifying. I think we're gonna see... Listen.
Get the table!
MICHAEL: Bubba Ray calling for the tables.
And the Dudley Boyz want to put an end to this match-up.
What a big upset this would be to The Rock and the Undertaker, King.
The Rock, the WWF Champion...
JERRY: How can you say the Dudleys winning a table match would be an upset?
Oh!
MICHAEL: You do have a point there.
And the Undertaker just stopped the use of the table by the Dudleys.
And look at The Brahma Bull and the Undertaker working together.
JERRY: These guys are... A real true team right here. For the moment.
MICHAEL: I guess The Rock and the Undertaker feel they gotta work together.
Neither one of them want to go through a table. Ooh!
As The Rock wears down D-Von.
- Look out! - Oh, man!
MICHAEL: Look at that. D-Von almost went through a table, but Bubba Ray Dudley...
JERRY: That would've ended the match, wouldn't it?
MICHAEL: Yeah, it would've. But Bubba Ray knockin' D-Von down.
JERRY: Well, they didn't do it intentionally.
Bubba Ray was thrown into D-Von by the Undertaker.
MICHAEL: Missed timing by the Undertaker and The Rock.
As the Undertaker sets up one table, The Rock is going for the other.
JERRY: Two tables for two.
MICHAEL: Only one man has to go through the table, King,
for the other team to win.
But The Rock or Undertaker can put Bubba Ray or D-Von through a table
to even up the match-up.
JERRY: Look at this cooperation between The Rock and the Undertaker!
MICHAEL: Great teamwork!
Rock with a clothesline to Bubba Ray Dudley.
JERRY: They're setting the table.
MICHAEL: The table is set up in the middle of the ring.
- And D-Von with a low blow to the Undertaker. - Uh-oh.
MICHAEL: Look out! Rock settin' up Bubba Ray for the Rock Bottom!
D-Von moved the table out of the way!
- JERRY: Wow! - Almost Rock Bottomed through the table,
and D-Von had the wherewithal to move the table.
Undertaker suplex!
JERRY: That was a smart move by D-Von.
But not too smart to back right into the arms of the Undertaker.
MICHAEL: Well, he saved his team the match-up at least for now.
Rock and Undertaker again working together, setting up the table.
JERRY: I'm really surprised at this, to be honest with you.
MICHAEL: They're just trying to survive, King.
Neither The Rock or the Undertaker want to go through a table here.
JERRY: Yeah, but if I were The Rock, I don't think I'd want to face the Undertaker
at Unforgiven. I might just... I might just punch him right here.
MICHAEL: The Rock never backs down from a challenge, you know that.
And it's the biggest challenge of his career.
Undertaker going for the chokeslam, and The Rock ran into him, inadvertently.
JERRY: I think The Rock was thrown into him, right?
MICHAEL: Rock went for a Rock Bottom again,
and Rock now going over the top rope.
Take a look!
Bubba Ray! Bubba Ray counters. Undertaker with a right hand to Bubba Ray.
Come on!
MICHAEL: Undertaker calling for The Rock.
He's down and out outside the ring.
- 3-D! - (BELL DINGS)
Undertaker 3D'ed through a table!
The Dudley Boyz win!
CHIMEL: Here are your winners, the Dudley Boyz!
JERRY: The Dudleys have beaten the Undertaker and Rock!
MICHAEL: A 3-D through a table by the Dudley Boyz to the Undertaker.
And the Dudley's have won the table match.
The biggest victory of the Dudleys' career, King.
JERRY: Oh, my gosh, look at this. Look at the look on Bubba.
I don't know if he believes it.
MICHAEL: King, let's take another look.
Undertaker going for the chokeslam.
Bubba Ray Dudley tossing The Rock into the Undertaker.
But look at the look on the Undertaker's face.
Did the Undertaker believe that The Rock ran into him on purpose?
Bubba Ray Dudley tossing The Rock outside the ring.
That allowed the Dudley Boyz to pick up a huge upset over the Undertaker.
JERRY: 3D through the table!
And the Dudleys win it.
MICHAEL: The biggest victory of the Dudley Boyz career.
