โ Whoo!
Season four, we're in a new place.
โ Yeah. โ Some changes have been made.
โ They don't know we're gonna be there, too, soโโ
โ And they walk in and they see us and they go...
โ No audience for the first round.
โ I dig that. There's no distraction.
โ You can't hide behind the lights, the stage.
โ Let's go see what it looks like.
โ It really shows if you have it,
if you can, like, light up a room.
โ It's very really. Speaking of lighting up a room.
โ Let's see what happens today.
โ โช It ain't my fault that I'm out here gettin' loose โช
โ Oh, boy, if the dance thing doesn't work out,
I might just rent this out.
โ [laughs] Live here?
โ Might just live here.
โ โช It ain't my fault that I'm out here makin' news โช
โช I'm the pudding in the proof โช
โ Boom, bounce, stop.
โ All right, okay, so we're moments away from going in.
Have fun, okay? โ Thank you.
[dramatic music]
โ Three, two...
โ And you go.
โ Hello. โ Hi!
โ Hi. โ Hi, sweetie.
โ Look at that smile.
โ Keagan?
โ Yes. โ How are you?
โ Good. How are you? โ Good.
Were you expecting to see us? โ No, not at all.
โ Are you happy to see us? โ Yes.
โ Clearly. I'm loving it. I'm loving the smile.
โ How old are you? โ I'm 13.
โ You're 13? โ Yes.
Hi, my name is Keagan Capps. I'm 13 years old,
and I'm a contemporary dancer from Moore, Oklahoma.
Being from a small town, I definitely think
people underestimate what I'm able to do on the dance floor.
Like, I say, "Oh, yeah, I'm from Oklahoma,"
and people go, like, "What?"
โ Where is Oklahoma?
Somewhere in the middle, right?
โ โช Oklahoma! โช
โ They think that I ride a horse to school,
or that we live in, like, a tent or something.
But it's definitely not that way.
I live in a normal house.
We drive normal cars. [laughs]
Live is very normal.
[upbeat music]
"World of Dance" is one of the biggest opportunities
I've ever had.
โช โช
I want to show that just because
I'm from a small town in Oklahoma
doesn't mean that I can't go make this dream happen.
โ Are you ready to do some dancing for us?
โ Yes. โ Let's do it.
โ Let's do it. โ Yep.
โ Okay.
โ Mmโhmm.
[balladic pop music]
โช โช
โ What? โ Oh.
Okay. โ โช Another head hands lowly โช
โช Child is slowly taken โช โ Wow.
โ โช But you see it's not me โช
โช It's not my family โช
โช In your head, in your head โช
โ Wow. โ โช They're all cryin' โช
โช In your head โช
โช In your head โช
โช Zombie โช
โช Zombie โช
โช Zombie โช
[vocalizing]
โ Wow.
โ โช In your head โช
โช In your head โช
โช Zombie โช
โช Zombie โช
โช Zombie โช
โ Wow. โ Yeah!
All right! โ Wow.
โ Showโoff!
โ [laughs] โ Wow.
Keagan. โ That was beautiful.
โ Thank you so much.
โ So how old were you when you learned
that you could literally wring yourself out like a towel?
Like, how old were you when you figured that out?
Goodness gracious. โ Well, it's kind of taken
a lot of practice.
I do mostly ballet and contemporary,
and so my ballet has definitely helped me
be able to, like, contort my body like that.
โ Yeah. โ Sometimes when I see that,
โ It looks Gumby and it looks like uncontrolโโ
you hadโโthere was so much control and so much stability
in everything that you did. It was so wonderful to watch.
โ When a dancer can do that,
they tend to overdo it. It's like,
"Look, hey, I'm superโflexible,"
and it's, like, "Is that it? Is that all there is?"
It's clearly not it with you.
โ Thank you. โ Very, very impressed.
โ I love what Derek wrote here. "Alien."
[laughter]
โ I did. I wrote down "alien"
'cause, like, you're notโโ โ You're from another planet.
โ You're not, like, real, honestly.
It's wild. It's otherโworldly.
It's, like, not even, like, human.
โ For me, it's always about the story.
It's always about what you're trying to say
with your body, with your moves,
with your dancing.
And we didn't see all of what you had today.
There's something even more special there, I feel.
โ Thank you. โ Really, really impressive.
โ Thank you so much. โ You little alien.
โ [giggles] โ You little alien.
โ I'm gonna go out on a limb here.
โ Do it, go on a limb. โ I'm gonna say
it's a yes for me.
โ It's a yes for me.
โ Yes. [laughter]
โ You're onto the Duels. โ Thank you.
โ Congratulations, and we'll see you there.
โ Thank you so much. โ Well done, Keagan.
โ Congrats.
โ She was good. Really good.
โ I'm waiting to see that move that she did.
Come on, come on, come on.
โ Put your legโโ โ This one?
โ Put your head underneath. โ I believe in you.
โ You're gonna have to put my head underneath.
โ Can you get over here?
โ Yeah?
โ Yes. โ Yeah, go ahead!
โ Bless you. โ Thank you.
โ You showed up today.
โ Thank you so much. โ How did it feel
to hear that kind of response?
โ It felt really good,
and I just want to keep impressing them
through each round.
โ The Duels mean business.
โ Yeah.
โ Bring everything you gotโโ
โ Okay. โ To that dance floor.
All right? โ Okay.
โ So excited for you guys. โ Thank you.
โ So excited.
โ It's the "World of Dance."
โ World. The whole world.
โ How we celebrate, it's how we mournโโ
โ It's still how we celebrate.
โ Yeah. โ It's stillโโlike,
you do the happy dance
when you get a phone call with good news.
You do the happy dance when you see your food
coming at the restaurant. both: Mmโhmm.
โ You dance at your wedding.
You dance, you know, at your baptisms.
โ I don't know what kind of baptism you had.
I definitely did notโโ
โ They danced at my baptism.
โ Praise dancing, yeah. It's a real thing.
โ That's beautiful, though. It really is.
โ What you remember, where it comes from.
There's roots in religion and tradition
and culture and that's what makes everything so beautiful,
the differences that we have.
[upbeat music]
โ One, two, and three.
โ [yells] โ [laughs]
[laughs]
โ Antonio and Maria.
โ Love you, Jennifer Lopez.
โ Why hello there. โ Hi.
โ Costumes. โ Welcome!
โ She's coming in like a leopard.
Let's go.
both: Hi! โ Hi!
So how old are you?
โ [speaking Italian]
โ Oh. Oh, hello.
โ [Speaking Italian] โ 11.
โ 11 and 13.
all: Wow. โ Are you guys ready to dance?
โ Yes. โ Let's do it.
โ Let's get it.
[upbeat music]
โช โช
โ Whoo! โ Hey!
โ All right. โ Adorable.
โ Great job. โ You guys had some
really good energy.
Really good dancers, too.
โ So I'm a ballroom and Latin dancer,
and I've danced since I was nine years old.
And one day, I was, like, 13 years old,
and it, like, clicked.
I don't feel like you've crossed
that threshold just yet,
but you're on your way.
โ There's still a level of maturity in your movement
that I feel like you need to reach
before you're completely ready
for the "World of Dance" stage,
so it's gonna be a no for me.
โ For me, it's gonna be a no,
but I would love to see you guys come back next season
'cause I think you'll be fantastic.
โ Thank you. โ Thank you so much, guys.
โ Byeโbye. โ I'm sorry.
โ Bye, guys.
โ Byeโbye.
[upbeat music]
โช โช
โ Let's get it.
โ Hello. โ Ooh, dapper.
Dapper.
โ Look at these sharpโdressed gentlemen.
โ Where you guys from?
โ The Netherlands, Amsterdam.
โ The name is Avant Garde.
You know, that means innovation,
and we mix different styles.
Like, we dressed everybody as his own character,
and everybody has his own dance style.
โ Let's see it. โ Let's do it.
[upbeat music]
โช โช
I am pleasantly confused.
[laughs]
I was not expecting that.
I really wasn't.
I'm gonna cut right to the chase.
This is a yes for me.
โ Is it really? โ It's a yes for me.
I dug it. I really, really dug it.
โ For me, the dancing didn't feel strong enough.
It's gonna be a no for me, so it's up to Derek.
โ Oh, man.
It's gonna be a callback for me.
You gotta do more of the breaking
'cause those were the wow moments for sure.
I think energetically, just everything
needs to be a little bit more.
โ Thank you, thank you. โ See you at the callback.
โ โช Won't you sing me a sweet lullaby? โช
[upbeat music]
[all shouting]
โช โช
โช โช
โ Okay, stand by.
โ Who next, who next?
โ I'm ready.
โ Three, two...
โ And you go.
โ Whoo!
โ [gasps] [all shouting]
โ Oh, my gosh. โ Oh!
[laughter]
โ How are you?
[all shouting]
โ Hi! โ Wow!
โ Hi. โ Yes.
โ Well, hi, y'all. โ I love that, I love that.
all: Hello! โ Hi!
โ Hello, nice to meet you. I'm Anna, their interpreter.
โ How are you, Anna? โ Okay, nice to meet you, Anna.
โ Please. Okay, Chibi Unity.
โ Yeah! Chibi Unity.
โ All right, what are you feeling right now?
Put me in your head.
โ [speaking Japanese]
โ [speaking Japanese]
โ Whenever they opened the door,
they really didn't expect to see you guys,
and they're really, like, really excited to see you guys.
โ Are we ready? โ Yeah!
โ Yeah? Let's do it.
โ Whoo! โ I like the energy.
Come on. โ Hyping me up.
โ I love it.
โ โช Some nights I stay up โช
โช Cashing in my bad luck โช
โช Some nights, I call it a draw โช
โช But I still wake up โช
โช I still see your ghost โช
โช Oh, Lord, I'm still not sure โช
โช What I stand for, oh โช
What do I stand for?
โช Most nights, I don't know โช
โช Anymore โช
โ Come on. โ [vocalizing]
[upbeat music]
โช Well, that is it, guys, that is all โช
โช Five minutes in and I'm bored again โช
โช Ten years of this, I'm not sure โช
โช If anybody understands โช
โช The other night, you wouldn't believe โช
โช The dream I just had about you and me โช
I called you up, but we'd both agree โช
โช โช
โ Hey! โ Hai!
โ Hai. โ Yeah.
โ Oh, my God. I love that last move.
โ Thank you! โ That breath.
โ Quality. โ Thank you!
โ Quality, quality.
โ Their breath in unison was soโโoh.
The choreography for me was a real standout.
Really great. It has a real style to it
that feels signature, which I think really
helps in this competition that you have your own style.
all: Thank you!
โ Like Jennifer said, the emotion and, like,
the feeling and what you guys were doing,
I really felt that,
but there was a moment
where there was a big setup and, like, you ran back,
and then you climbed onto their backs.
For me, I was expecting, like, aโโ
[gasps] Moment.
And it was like a...
[whimpers]
So if you're going to do a trick
or a visual, it has to beโโ
โ Something amazing. โ I can't be like, "Oh."
โ NeโYo, what'd you feel, man?
โ Okay, so it started a little slow.
The first 10, 15 seconds was not a lot of movement,
and you don't have a lot of time up there.
Once the energy picked up,
it kept going through the whole thing.
I was thoroughly impressed.
[overlapping chatter]
โ Thank you!
โ Guys, remember, you need to yeses
to go through to the Duels, okay?
โ You know what?
It's a yes.
โ Thank you!
โ I think for me, it's a yes.
[all shouting]
โ Definite yes, but notes.
Take these notes. They're there to help.
We need the energy from the jump,
from the very, very beginning.
โ We'll see you in the Duels. โ In the Duels.
โ Yeah!
โ I feel like I have to do it back.
โ Oh! โ I love you!
[laughter]
โ Thank you!
โ They are funny.
[all shouting]
โ Yeah!
Yeah!
โ โช Don't give up on me now โช
โ [mutters]
โ โช Always follow who you are โช
โช Come to life โช
[upbeat pop music]
โช Come to life โช
โ I need you, I need you.
I'm dancing with an invisible person.
I need a human being.
Turn out that way. That's it.
[laughs]
โ How are you? โ Now we're partnered.
โ I've never partnered well.
โ God, NeโYo.
โ I don't partner well. โ Gosh.
โ Seven, eight.
[both muttering]
โ I'm Josh. โ And I'm Erica.
โ And we're an urban dance duo from Los Angeles.
โ โช Every time I see your face โช
โ Last year, I was actually on "World of Dance"
with my duet partner Aidan,
but unfortunately, we did not
make it through the first round.
โ I almost can feel
that you haven't been together a long time.
Almost a chemistry that is lacking a little bit.
โ Once they gave you that advice,
I was like, "Wait, we're dating.
That's chemistry right there. Here we go."
You excited? โ Yes.
โ You're back. โ It's so different this time.
โ Back and you're better. โ It's so different.
โ We first met through social media, andโโ
โ What really sparked it was we danced in a music video,
and during that rehearsal, I was like,
"Oh, my gosh, this person
is the most incredible person I've ever met."
โ โช Tell me I'm forever yours โช
โ Do you believe in us? โ I believe in us.
โ Do you believe in us? โ I believe.
[laughs] โ Wow.
This is an amazing opportunity
where we get to dance together,
and really bring the artistry that
we connect with up here
to connect with the audience out there.
Let's do it. โ Okay.
โ Just gonna have you wait over here
in our onโdeck circle.
[heartbeat pulsing]
โ Let's do it. โ You're the one.
โ Love you. โ I love you so much.
I love you, I love you, I love you.
[heartbeat pulsing]
[exhales]
[dramatic music]
[both whispering]
โ Hey! โ [laughs]
โ Oh, yeah! โ Hi!
โ How you guys doing? โ Hi, guys.
How are you? โ You guys are here.
โ Good. They psyched us out.
โ Yeah. โ Yes.
โ They did psych you out. โ A little bit, a little bit.
โ Erica, you've been here before, right?
โ I have been here before.
I'm so happy to be back.
Yeah. โ That's right.
Remind us what happened last time.
โ We didn't make it past the qualifiers round.
โ And obviouslyโโbut you're with a different partner.
โ Yes, Yes, yes.
โ I'm a little bit shorter.
โ It's okay, it works. [laughs]
โ You guys seem to be gazing
into each other's eyes longingly.
Is there, likeโโ
โ Yeah, we've been datingโโ
โ Oh, you are? โ Yeah, for a year and a half.
โ Yeah. โ Okay, all right.
Well, I'm anxious to see the chemistry.
I'm anxious to see what it is. Y'all ready?
โ Yeah, yes, we are. โ Thank you, we're ready.
โ Let's do it. โ Thank you, guys.
โ Whoo.
โ โช Mount Everest โช
โช Ain't gotโโone me โช
โช Mount Everest โช
โช Ain't gotโโone me โช
โช 'Cause I'm on top of the world โช
โช I'm on top of the world, yeah โช
[vocalizing]
โช โช
โช Tell 'em โช
โช I burn down my house โช
โช And build it up again โช
โช Tell 'em โช
โช I got me oneโโand an alibi โช
โช Tell 'em โช
โช So much love โช
โช That the whole thing feel like a lie โช
โช I don't need nobody โช
โช I don't need nobody โช
โช I don't need nobody โช
โช I don't need nobody โช
โช I don't need nobody โช
โช I don't need nobody, to save me โช
โช Sweet, sweet โช
[vocalizing]
โช Mount Everest โช
โช Ain't gotโโon me โช
โ All right, nice guys!
โ Whoop, whoop!
โ He said...
โ Good job.
โ There's nothing like real chemistry.
โ Amen. โ Real chemistry
is something that you can't manufacture.
โ Very real. โ Right? The two of you
together have an amazing chemistry.
both: Thank you. โ It was really good.
There were some very strong moves in there
when they really worked with the musicality
of your song.
When you hit it the right way,
it really worked.
โ Yeah, thank you.
โ Extremely powerful.
โ Thank you.
โ First and foremost, great job.
There is no question whatsoever whether or not
you guys are quality dancers.
You clearly are. You wouldn't be here.
Here's my issue.
This is "World of Dance,"
which kind of means that everybody's
a quality dancer,
so it's gotta be a little bit more
than just the fact
that you're really, really, really good at dancing.
You know what I mean? There has to be something more.
I like how hard you guys hit,
but I will say that there were some places
where, like, he hit so hard
that it almost softened yours.
You know what I mean?
Because there were some places where, like,
you were soโโbow!
That hers her kind of bow.
โ Got it. โ So should you guys
make it through to the next round,
that's something to consider.
โ Okay. โ There's a marriage
that has to happen. You're dating,
but now there is a marriage that has to happen.
โ Oh. โ Okay?
โ Oh! โ [laughs]
โ D, what you thinking?
โ Here's my thoughts about this routine.
Musicality was on point.
The execution was great.
The separation movement, solid, so there.
Chemistry, check.
But it's, like, utilize the tools.
Utilize all the tools that you have,
and, Erica, you're a sensational
contemporary dancer with amazing ability
in your movement,
though I would say to access that,
and utilize that.
โ Mmโhmm. โ And I think that
it could be just a better formula.
โ Guys, remember, you need two yeses
to go through to the Duels.
NeโYo, what do you think?
โ You know what? I'm still not
completely convinced.
โ โช Ooh, you should let me love you โช
โ I'm still not completely convinced.
It's a callback for me.
โ Okay. โ It's a callback for me.
โ Um, I think for me,
it's...
it's gonna be a yes.
โ โช Hold me now for evermore โช
โ Okay, so you got a callback. You got a yes.
โ โช Tell me I'm forever yours โช
โ It's gonna be a yes for me.
โ Yay! โ All right?
โ So we're doing it. โ Thank you, guys.
โ You're doing it. We'll see you in the Duels!
[overlapping chatter]
โ Thank you, guys. Appreciate it.
โ All right. โ Bye, guys, congrats.
โ We did it, we did it, we did it!
We did it, we did it, we did it!
โ This looks like a celebration.
both: Yeah. โ Congratulations!
โ Thank you, thank you.
โ I really just wanted to make it
further than last year.
โ Mission accomplished. โ We did, we did.
[upbeat music]
โ โช You gotta keep the faith โช
โช You gotta keep the faith โช
โ Wow.
โ So are you nervous?
โ I'm a little nervous,
'cause it's my first timeโโ like, going by myself,
like, doing a solo, soโโ โ Really?
โ How you feeling?
โ A little nervous just because I'm different
than a lot of the other people.
โ There are some wellโknown people here.
โ Yeah. โ We come from a small town
in Chicago.
โ This is an experience of a lifetime, guys.
And this is the time to show America what we got.
โ We are... all: The Break Ninjaz!
โ โช Go, ninja, go, ninja, go! โช
โช Go, ninja, go, ninja, go! โช
โช Go, go, go, go! โช
โ To be a Break Ninja, you have to follow
our three rules.
all: Have fun,
work hard,
and help each other.
โ โช Ninja, ninja rap โช
โ We're all athletes,
even though we do, like, 100 pushโups,
you know, it doesn't feel like work, likeโโ
โ Y'all don't do 100 pushโups. โ Yes, we do!
โ Let's get ten right now, then.
Let's get ten right now.
Six, seven, eight, nine, ten.
Okay. Okay. I take it back.
Maybe I need to do a little bit more pushโups.
โ โช Go, ninja, go, ninja, go โช
โ In the breaking culture,
you get a nickname.
I am Bโboy Babalu.
โ And I'm AโPlus.
โ I'm Capital. โ The Blondie.
โ I'm Taylor. I just use my normal name
'cause I like it.
[laughter]
โ Oh, yeah! Go, Babalu!
[all cheering]
all: Go, ninja, go, ninja, go.
Go, ninja, go, ninja, go.
Break Ninjaz!
โ Next.
โ And you go. โ Okay.
[dramatic music]
โ [gasps]
โ Oh, my gosh!
โ Hey! โ Yo!
How are you? โ Hi, guys.
โ Yo.
โ What's up? โ Hi!
โ What's up? โ Hi!
โ How are you?
โ Yeah, look at this group.
Like, how old are you, my man?
โ I'm ten.
โ He said, "what's up? I'm ten."
โ All breaking, all breakdancing.
โ All breaking. โ Yeah, all breaking.
โ I mean, I love breakdancing.
I'm from the Bronx. I love it.
I grew up with it.
It was kind of invented at the time
that was, like, your guys' age down here.
And it's something that is very close to my heart,
so I just love seeing it. I love seeing a new generation
like, continue it on.
all: Yeah!
โ Now I'm anxious to see it. โ Let's go.
Let's see it, you guys. โ Let's do it.
โ Okay, y'all, let's go!
โ Let's go, Ninjaz! โ Let's go!
โ Yo. โ Babalu is his name.
Babalu. โ Babalu.
[laughs]
[upbeat music]
โช โช
โ โช Put your loving โช
โช Hand out โช
โช Baby โช
โช I'm beggin' โช
โช โช
โ Whoo! โ โช Beggin' โช
โ What?
โช โช
[laughter]
โ โช Beggin', I'm beggin' you โช
โ Let's go, Babalu!
โ Go, Babalu, go Babalu!
โ Yo! โ Babalu!
โ Great!
[cheers and applause]
โ Let's go. โ Good job, Babalu!
โ Yo, okay.
Well, first of all, my man Babalu,
that last spin on your head and then the whole thing
andโโunbelievable.
โ Thank you, sir. โ Who did, like,
the front flip with no hands on their head?
โ Oh, that was me. โ That was crazy, man.
That was insane.
There were so many great moments.
โ The handโstand, the slow up,
I don't think people watching understand
how much strength that takes.
โ Yeah, that was crazy. โ Quality.
โ But that strength, that athleticism
is what makes a great Bโboy.
You know? Or Bโgirl.
โ Yeah. โ Bโhuman.
both: Bโhuman. โ [laughs]
โ I like it. โ Here's my note.
'Cause I think often what happens
is, like, yo, here's this amazing trick,
here's this amazing, you know, break move.
And then it's, like, transition,
and then the transition feels like a throwaway,
or it just feels a little bit too, like, relaxed.
โ The standard that you guys are dancing at is good,
but to really compete, it needs to, like,
grow to a whole other level.
โ With that said, for me, it's gonna be a no.
โ You guys are close,
but you're not completely there yet.
Unfortunately, it's a no for me.
โ And not because you guys aren't fantastic,
but because we think that
if you had a little bit more time,
that you're gonna come back even stronger.
That's it. โ You guys are great dancers,
so keep working hard
so you can come back,
and maybe win next year.
โ Yeah, yeah. โ Thank you, guys.
โ Good job, Babalu! You killed it.
โ Thank you. โ You killed it at the end.
โ Yeah. โ Bye!
โ Thanks, guys. โ Thank you, guys.
โ โช I got this lovesick feeling โช
โ Why are y'all so quiet?
What happened in there?
โ We weren't disappointed, you know.
Hopefully next year.
โ You're all stars. Don't forget that.
Shine bright, y'all.
โ Thank you. โ Shine bright.
โ Thank you. โ Babalu!
โ [laughs]
โ Don't go.
โ I think we're ready.
โ Nervous.
โ We're gonna do so good, guys.
โ โช Into your heart โช
โ You guys have been auditioning
for "World of Dance" since season two.
โ Yeah. โ Third time is a charm.
That must mean you've raised the stakes.
โ Yeah. โ Quite a bit.
โ We worked really hard.
โ Come on in.
โ Give everything you have on this stage,
and have fun. Enjoy every moment, okay?
โ You guys ready for this? โ Yes.
โ I'm ready. โ Let's do it.
โ Oh, my God! โ Hi!
โ Hi! โ Hi.
โ What's going on, y'all?
โ Oh, my God.
โ Hi, guys. โ How are you, how are you?
โ What, you surprised to see us?
all: Yeah! [laughter]
โ Welcome. Where you guys from?
โ Quebec, Canada.
โ Quebec, okay. Why "World of Dance"?
โ Because it's the biggest competition.
It's, like, the best from the best
from all around the world.
We've been trying from season two.
We got rejected twice, but we never gave up.
โ Interesting. So you've actually tried out
for "World of Dance" before?
all: Yeah. โ But this the first time
you've gotten to this stage.
all: Yeah. โ Well, that's exciting.
Well, congratulations for that.
all: Thank you.
โ So you ready to show us what you got?
all: Yeah. โ Let's go.
โ Let's get it. โ Let's do it, guys.
Good luck. โ Yes!
All right.
[upbeat music]
โ โช Sickโโ โช โ โช Ho! โช
โ โช I drink that, drink that, yac โช
โช Step back 'cause I might put it on ya โช
โช I go deep, so deep till you sleep โช
โช Count sheep, wake you up fromโโall week โช
โช What up, I'm tore up, sho' nuff โช
โช Ain't scared to take it out โช
โช Tell the freak to take it off โช
โช Ain't scared to take itโโ โช
โ Hey. โ Whoo.
โ โช Sho' nuffโโsho' nuffโโ [stuttering] โช
โช Scared to take it, scared to take it โช
โช Scared to take itโโ tell the freak โช
โช To tell the freak, tell the freak toโโ โช
โช East coast, west coast โช
โช Down south, represent your coast โช
โช Yeah, we run it, Yeah, we run it โช
โช Y'all don't want it, 'cause my coast run it โช
โช โช
[laughter]
โ Yeah. Quality work.
โ Listen, I thought you guys
had some really good formations in there,
some great energy, but to me,
I couldn't really tell if you guys
can do other things besides
just kind of make these great formations,
so for me, there was just a little bit of question
if you can compete with everybody.
I didn't see that in this routine.
โ You guys are really strong when you're dancing in sync.
You know? I love the visuals.
I love the rollโoff you guys did in that diagonal
into the splits.
โ I definitely agree. I think that you guys
are a really, really strong team.
I just need everything to hit
a little harder than it does. There was a moment
where youโโI think it was you in the middle,
and you gave kind of one of these,
and everybody reacted.
And it was justโโ it just wasn't as staccato
as I would've personally liked it to have been.
The moves that were supposed to hit really hard
didn't hit as hard as I would've personally
liked them to hit.
โ I think I would've liked to have seen
a little bit more dancing.
It seems like there was a lot of transition
to, like, pictures, which is fine,
but I wanted to see more groove.
I wanted to see more musicality.
What do you guys think?
โ I'm gonna say yes.
โ For me, I'd probably have you come for a callback.
โ I'm gonna say...
callback. โ Okay.
โ So a callback basically means
you get one more opportunity to show us
what it is that you can do before,
which means that you guys will be back to show us
you really, really and truly deserve to be here.
โ Thank you so much. โ Good job, guys.
Well done.
Let's see what you got.
โ โช Don't worry about a thing โช
โ The skill level is there.
Now let's see if they can take the note,
and then step up to where they need to be.
โ Yeah.
โ What was it like to actually be there
finally in front of the judges?
โ Oh, my God. โ It felt so good.
โ [laughs] It felt so good!
โ Yes!
Getting a callback is just, like,
another opportunity to show them what new stuff
we can pull.
It's not a no, so we need to take it.
โ [vocalizing]
โ Three.
Little snuggle if you guys don't mind.
โ Snuggle. โ Yeah, we love the snuggle.
Big eyes, NeโYo.
โ Big eyes, NeโYo. โ Hm?
Big eyes? Me? Really?
โ Yep. Got it. โ Thank you, guys.
โ I'm gonna need you to act like you know
that when the teeth come out, the eyes go away.
โ Yeah. โ Nothing I can do about it.
โ That's what it is.
โ If we just don't get in our heads about anything.
โ I'm really nervous.
โ I can't wait, though.
We are... all: MDC 3.
โ A contemporary trio from Placentia, California.
โ โช I've got friends that will run through walls โช
โ We have danced together for so long
that we can share a vulnerable feeling together,
and are able to feel comfortable
relaying our emotions on each other,
no matter what.
โ All right, let's go.
โ I've known Maddie since she was about seven
and I love her family.
They are a like a second family to me.
โ Definitely, yeah.
โ I'm so proud of you, honey.
โ I love you, Mom.
โ I love you, too.
โ In 2012, my mom first diagnosed
with breast cancer.
I was only ten years old,
so I didn't really understand
the amount of pain she was facing.
โ Maddie had to see me
go from being a healthy mom
to undergoing surgery, chemotherapy,
and then actually losing my hair.
That was the hardest part, I think,
definitely was losing my hair,
because she did not understand that at all.
I wanted her to know that I'm just gonna be there
no matter what.
Good job.
โ After she beat cancer,
five years later,
she got diagnosed again.
To see her in that much pain,
like, really tore my heart up a little.
โ We try our best to be the biggest light in her life
at that moment.
โ We always tried to be positive around her,
so she would feel like she could tell us things.
[inspiring music]
โ These two hold a really special place in my heart
because they were able to be my support system.
They're like my little brother and sister.
I'll always be there for them.
"World of Dance" is super important to us
because my mom's in remission and healthy again,
but we all know that tomorrow's not a promise
and that we are able to take the moments that we can get
and cherish them forever.
โ All right, stand by, guys. Have fun.
โ Five, four, three, two...
โ Oh, my God. โ Hi!
โ Hello. โ No way.
[laughter]
โ Wasn't expecting that.
โ How are you?
โ I don't even feel like this is real.
โ I know. It's like a dream.
โ You guys weren't expecting to see us?
โ No. I'm lost for words.
โ How long you guys been dancing together?
โ Seven years.
โ As, like, a trio, or just separately?
all: As a trio. โ Together.
โ Really? โ Yeah.
โ Y'all ready to show us what you got?
โ Of course. โ Let's do it, let's do it.
โ Let's go. โ Good luck.
โ Okay.
[balladic pop music]
โ โช I'm holding on your rope โช
โช Got me ten feet off the ground โช
โช โช
โช I'm hearing what you say โช
โช But I just can't make a sound โช
โช โช
โช You tell me that you need me โช
โช Then you go and cut me down โช
โช But wait โช
โช Tell me that you're sorry โช
โช Didn't think I'd turn around โช
โช You say โช
โช It's too late to apologize โช
โช It's too late โช
โช It's said it's too late to apologize, yeah โช
โ โช Too late โช
โ โช It's said it's too late to apologize, yeah โช
โ โช Too late โช
โ โช I'm holding on your rope โช
โช Got me ten feet off the ground โช
โ Ooh. โ Aww.
โ Whoo. โ Yeah!
Wow. โ Well, that was clear.
โ Yeah.
โ Wow, guys.
That was very clear to me
what was going on, which I always love,
and all three of you are super strong, too.
both: Thank you so much.
โ I love the transitions.
You guys had seamless transitions,
really creative, really innovative.
โ Super creative.
โ Some moments where I'm like, "Oh, I've seenโโ
no, I have not. That's really different."
I really enjoyed it. NeโYoโโ
โ The way the three of them interacted, I meanโโ
โ I mean, out of the gate, too,
the way you were all connected and entangled,
and then, like, whoosh, whoosh.
You immediately got the story of, like, yo,
this love triangle is confusing.
โ Intricate. Like, there was one area where
it was almost ugly how tangled you guys were,
but I felt like it was kind of purposely done.
Like, a love triangle can be a very ugly thing.
โ It's gonna be a yes for me.
โ [titters]
โ What did you think, baby?
โ Um...
[mellow music]
Yeah, it's...
it's gonna be a yes for me.
[laughter]
โ It's a yes for me, too. โ Go. You're through.
โ You're through to the next round.
โ [shouts] โ Yes.
all: Thank you so much.
โ Congratulations, guys. We'll see you in the Duels.
โ Thank you. โ See you in the Duels.
โ โช We'll have nowhere left to go โช
โช And I need my hero โช
โ Did great? all: Yeah.
โ Oh, there's smiles. That's a good thing.
So... โ We got a yes.
โ We got a yes, two yeses.
โ To the Duels? all: Yeah.
โ We're feeling a lot of emotionsโโ
โ Overwhelmed with excitement,
and justโโwe're so happy.
โ Give me some.
โ Yeah. โ Give me some.
โ We have so much more to give.
โ And so me many more stories to tell, too.
โ Duels.
โ We'll see you there.
โ Can't wait. โ We're ready.
โ Check out the ruffles.
Check out the ruffles.
โ We are... all: Show Stopper!
โ A jazz funk team from...
all: Miami!
โ [vocalizing]
all: โช We stomp out โช
โช We stop the show! โช
โ We are a group of first generation
American women,
and we're here representing our family,
what struggles they went through to get here.
โ โช And on the run from a country โช
โช Where they put you in prison โช
โช For being a woman and speaking your mind โช
โ My grandparents came from Cuba with my mom.
It was communist
and everything was very restricted,
and that was no way of living.
So they came here with a dream and a thirst for freedom,
and thirst to do more.
You guys are gorgeous and you're beautiful
and passionate and we've been working so hard,
so this is our time shine and really showcase
what we're all about.
And it's about a revolution.
โ There's a lot of violence in Colombia,
and when I moved, I was nine.
It was very hard to just pick up
and literally leave everything,
your school, your culture, your language.
We lived in New York.
It was seven of us in one room,
and to know that I'm here now
and I look at my parents that gave everything
for us to be here.
It's definitely a proud moment
to know that,
you know, it is the American dream.
โ โช They said I would never make it โช
โ Right now, we're living through a key time in history
where diverse cultures and women
are really coming forward and breaking boundaries.
And all we want is to open doors
for other women that are coming
from our backgrounds.
โ โช You will rise up, rise up, yeah โช
โ And in you go.
โ Let's go, guys.
[dramatic music]
[laughter]
โ Hello!
โ Hi! Hiya!
โ Ooh! โ What's up?
โ The shock and awe on your faces.
โ It's showtime, Show Stoppers.
โ How are you, how are you, how are you?
โ And now that we see you,
extra ready, extra ready.
JโLo, I have to say, growing up in Puerto Rico,
I remember following along in your journey
starting as a dancer,
and being, honestly, the first
female to really represent Latinas
beyond the stereotype.
โ Thank you. โ That is what inspired
most of us.
โ Aww, thank you. Don't cry.
I see you all of you with tears in your eyes.
Stop it. Look it.
โ You blazed the path for us,
and we're so honored
to do this for our family
and for what we truly represent,
which is that Latin woman power, you know?
โ Yes. โ Thank you.
โ Yes. โ I love it.
โ You ready to show me? โ Are we ready?
[all cheering]
โ Let's do it. โ Whoo!
[upbeat music]
โ Okay.
โ Major Lazer. J Balvin, man.
Latino gang.
Global.
[singing in Spanish]
โช โช
all: [shout] โ [singing in Spanish]
โช โช
all: [shout] โ [singing in Spanish]
โช โช
โ Cool.
โ Well done, ladies.
[applause]
โ All right, Show Stoppers.
Well, first and foremost, I can completely see the camaraderie.
It's like it's one brain up there.
Dope. Superโduper dope.
โ I agree. I thought
you're a good, cohesive group,
but I think the moves
need to be hit a little bit harder.
And I'm wondering if it was the outfits,
because they kind of covered your body a little bit,
all of the extra material.
I'm wondering if that was a little bit
of me not being able to see how hard you were dancing.
Do you know what I'm saying? โ Yeah.
โ I actually like the outfits, honestly.
I think it adds to theโโ โ I like them.
I'm not saying I don't like them.
I'm not sure it worked
for the dancing that you were doing,
but that shouldn't matter.
We have to feel that energy like a rollercoaster.
We have to feel it like a Mack Truck.
You have the passion,
but now you have to get the level of skill
up a little bit higher.
These are the best dancers in the world,
and that's who you're gonna be competing against.
โ I definitely agree.
In all honesty, I heard the name Show Stoppers,
I'm like, "My bar went up to here."
Like, you can't call yourself Show Stoppers
unless you about to stop the show.
I found myself waiting for the wow.
I'm looking for the thing that makes me go,
"Oh, my gosh, Show Stoppers might get a million dollars."
โ Yeah, I mean, the thing is I think you guys
are all fantastic dancers.
I think for me choreographically,
It was justโโ โ Needs to step up.
โ It's, like, what happened is that all
kind of stayed on this beat the whole time.
I wanted to see more, likeโโ [vocalizing]
To play around with rhythms.
You want all these different dynamics within a routine
because you only have, like, a minute and a half
to show us everything you have.
So with that said, what do you think?
โ I think...I don't know.
I'm on the fence. I'm on the fence.
โ โช They said I would never make it โช
โช But I was built to break the mold โช
โ I'm thinking it's gonna be a callback.
Derek, what were your thoughts on it?
โ It's gonna be a callback for me, too.
โ Yeah. We do believe
that there is something really special here.
โ Yes, definitely.
โ This is a callback. When you go to an audition,
you get a callback, that's a good thing.
โ Yes. โ That's a good thing.
I've been there. โ Good job, ladies.
โ All right. all: Thank you.
โ Congrats, congrats. That's good.
โ โช This goes out to the underdog โช
โ Well, well done. โ That's it.
โ Well done, guys. It was fun.
โ I was impressed. I was thoroughly impressed.
โ That was awesome.
โ โช Rise up, yeah โช
[upbeat hipโhop music]
โช โช
