whether or not they're ready to compete.

I was on Elektro Crew,

and I'm back to just win this competition.

‐ How has your life changed

since last season? ‐ Dramatically.

Coming into last season,

I didn't have a relationship with my father.

Tried reaching out to my dad for the past years,

and I just want him to be able to see me and be proud of me.

to see how much potential they have

There's nothing to hide behind, you know, no production,

no lights, no light‐up LED floor, no audience.

So this is really exposed, really vulnerable.

With that said, though,

I think you guys, like, did a great job.

Loved, like, that beginning roll‐off that was‐‐

hooked us straight away.

‐ Yeah, the parts that were supposed to stand out

in the routine really, really stood out.

The thing is, the parts in between

kinda just‐‐ you know what I mean?

Kinda just stayed here.

‐ There were some moments where I felt like it just needed that

extra level where we're like jumping out of our seats.

I think we have an advantage, though,

just because we're coming at them

with something they've never seen before.

We are... all: Indigenous Enterprise.

From Phoenix, Arizona.

‐ Our dance style is more, like, Native American style.

‐ Uh‐huh. ‐ But we, like, meshed it

with a little bit of hip‐hop, yeah.

‐ That's fresh.

‐ These were the dances of our people.

‐ When we first started out,

we started out at a bunch of community colleges.

And then we started getting into festivals,

and then fast forward a year later,

we got a direct message from Taboo,

from the Black Eyed Peas.

He's from the Shoshone‐Bannock tribes, and he said,

"Hey, I'm gonna be filming this video for 'Stand N Rock.'

And I want you guys to be a part of it."

‐ Yeah, tell them what's about to go down.

‐ Oh, it's going down.

Indigenous Enterprises is happening,

Black Eyed Peas in the building.

‐ That video ended up becoming viral

and winning an MTV VMA award.

That really put us on the map.

‐ ♪ Oh‐oh‐oh‐oh‐oh‐oh ♪

‐ The Native American people

kinda get often swept under the rug.

Well, what we're doing is we wanna be able to bring forward

what a real Native American looks like,

what a real Indigenous person looks like.

This is more than just dancing. This is a way of life.

‐ Hi, how you doing? ‐ Look at this.

‐ Hi. ‐ How we doing, guys?

‐ I've been dancing since I was two years old.

‐ Okay. ‐ My mother was the one

that kinda introduced me to the powwow circle.

It's like a Native American social gathering.

We gather around our grandfather,

known as the big powwow drum. ‐ Okay.

‐ And he brings us, like, the heartbeat

of our healing of our people. ‐ How old do these,

like, traditions go back?

‐ Ages. ‐ Centuries.

‐ That's incredible. I love that.

‐ Yeah, I'm anxious to see it now.

‐ Ready? ‐ You guys ready?

‐ Yeah. Let's see it, guys. ‐ For real.

‐ Love that. Brotherhood.

You really do feel that.

I mean, when the beat kicked in, it really, really

kind of took ahold of me. ‐ Yeah.

‐ I was like, "Oh, my goodness, what am I watching right now?"

‐ The fact that you can move as freely as you do

requires a skill level I'm not sure I have.

‐ Well, I know I can't jump through those little hoops.

‐ And I've been jumping through hoops my whole life.

‐ You know what I love about this?

I love because, you know, I often talk

about how dance is primal.

‐ Yeah. ‐ You know, it's one of the,

like, the first ways we communicated as beings.

Like, we moved, we danced. That's how we communicated.

And I love that you guys are bringing that tradition,

that history, and make it‐‐ bring it into modern day.

I think it's fantastic. ‐ Thank you.

‐ I love the fact that we're even being

exposed to this right now. ‐ Yeah.

‐ That this show is a place where you guys can come

and show what you do and show that‐‐

how you're keeping your traditions alive,

and that this is gonna go on forever.

I love this. ‐ Thank you.

‐ I love the storytelling, and I love hearing about the‐‐

the culture and the history of everything you did

and I was thoroughly entertained.

But, for me, as a judge, I gotta look at it,

as far as a competition.

"Is this gonna be competitive against

some other acts we've seen?"

And as much as I loved it,

for me, it's gonna be a no.

But, again, it doesn't take away my appreciation for what

you guys do and what you guys are gonna continue doing.

I love what it means, I love what it's about,

I just don't know if it's ready for "World of Dance."

I have to agree with my counterparts.

From a standpoint of a competition,

I'm not sure that it stands up.

So as much as I thoroughly enjoyed this as well,

it's gonna be a no from me too, guys.

‐ The first time I met Harris,

I was 12 years old, getting ready for a ballet class.

And one of my friends was, like, "There's a new boy here!"

And everyone's like, "What?"

Compared to the massive amount of girls, it was like...

Yeah. [both laugh]

‐ Just from then, we were just best buds.

‐ Yeah.

‐ The best way I can describe us is just‐‐just dudes.

‐ Yeah. ‐ But‐‐

we also just love to dance. ‐ Yeah.

‐ I'm kinda into this, like,

new system with‐‐ without, like, scoring,

because I feel it gives more room for, like,

artistic interpretation. ‐ Yeah.

‐ 'Cause it's not so much, like, "Did you pass this test?"

It's more like

"Did everybody enjoy what you were presenting?"

‐ Exactly. When the moment‐‐

‐ A group decision. ‐ Yeah.

‐ I consider "World of Dance" just the biggest canvas

for myself to share my art with the world.

I think you were a little bit nervous at the top,

and, you know, it showed a little bit.

And then you kinda got more into your groove,

which was nice.

And then I started seeing the strength of your dancing.

And that encouraged me. I was like,

"Okay, these two can make an impact here."

‐ Yeah.

‐ So part of the reason why we do it this way now,

where you guys came and didn't know that we were here,

that whole shock to the system,

was to really see who it is that's really gonna

step up to the plate under circumstances

that they weren't prepared for.

‐ I think you guys have that. ‐ Thank you so much.

‐ The one thing I noticed, some of the musicality,

and especially in that song,

in this sort of the syncopation of the‐‐the lyrics‐‐

The music was going,

"Da‐ga‐da, da‐ga‐da, da‐ga‐da‐da,

di‐ga‐da, di‐ga‐da, di‐ga‐da‐da."

And you chose to just‐‐ just kinda stand up.

For me, in that moment, I just felt,

like, as a choreographer, I was like,

"Ooh!" ‐ Mm‐hmm.

‐ You just kinda miss‐‐ ‐ That opportunity.

‐ I feel like you missed that moment, ah!

‐ For sure. ‐ And there's also

just a few little moments where I felt like

it wasn't as clean as I'm sure it could be.

But all around, I think you guys have just

such a great presence and energy about you.

Well done. ‐ What do you think?

‐ Okay. So, for me, it's a yes.

And what a callback is is it's basically

another opportunity to show us what you can do

The emotion is there,

like, the emotion felt real, felt genuine.

We've been dancing together for a year and a half.

And she's, like, the best partner I've ever had.

‐ About six months ago, I made the really big decision

to move away from my mom and be a partner with Emma.

‐ It was really, really scary for me

because I've been with my mom my entire life.

My mom's great. She's my best friend.

When I was 14, my mom was diagnosed with a brain tumor.

She suffered from memory loss and like seizures,

and there was a possibility

I could lose my mom from all of this.

♪ It's hard to breathe sometimes ♪

‐ [voice breaking] It was, like, hard for me to, like,

see her not be who she was.

And she just had to keep telling me,

"It's okay, I'm still the same person."

I just had to, like, learn to, like,

It's been really, really tough for her,

but it's just made us a lot stronger.

And just being that young and that happening so fast,

that, like, really made me appreciate my mom a lot more.
