‐ I'm pretty excited for season four.

We're revamping the show in so many different ways,

it's like the first season all over again.

The idea behind them auditioning at a warehouse

is that there has to be a sense

that you earned to get onto the big stage.

When I was rehearsing for the Super Bowl,

I spent literally every day

for weeks and months rehearsing with my dancers.

It's a big audience.

You need to think about, like, what fantasy we can create.

Because that's where the raw talent shines.

That's where all the magic happens.

Not with a huge crowd, you know, with all the lights.

You gotta earn that big, beautiful stage.

‐ Oh, man, we got the qualifying rounds

here at "World of Dance" season four.

Can't wait.

‐ So this season, we are crashing the auditions,

trying the throw the dancers a curveball

to see how they respond under pressure.

‐ We are here backstage at the "World of Dance."

We're here to audition for the producers today.

These dancers‐‐ they think they're here

for their final producer audition.

What they don't know is that Jennifer Lopez,

Derek Hough, and Ne‐Yo have decided to make

a surprise appearance

and check out the talent for themselves.

‐ A hip‐hop crew from Vancouver, Canada.

‐ I think our dance style is really high‐energy.

We're really sharp, high‐octane.

My role in the group is the trickster, daredevil.

‐ I do all of the tricks in a routine.

‐ He, like, just goes for it,

and doesn't even do it on the mat.

‐ He fails, like, a bunch of times,

but he just keeps on going.

‐ Everyone in this group really isn't even my friends,

they're my family.

Back in, uh, 2015, my dad passed away

really suddenly from a heart condition.

‐ I remember I was in the play room,

and then I heard a bit of a thud,

so I ran up there, and I saw my dad on the floor.

And, um, yeah. It was‐‐it was really tough.

My dad was a really, really great guy.

‐ ♪ Creatures of my dreams ♪

♪ Raise up and dance with me! ♪

‐ He always loved that I danced.

Every time I perform now, I‐‐

I do it as though he's watching.

‐ When a group of people goes through a tragedy

or they help someone else through a tragedy, it‐‐

you really see everyone's true character,

and it helped me understand that these guys

will always help me and just support me

through everything I go through.

It really meant a lot.

‐ It's only once in a lifetime

to be on a show such as "World of Dance,"

and being able to sit here on the couch

and have this interview in the first place

is very, um... [indistinct] for me.

Everything super clean, everything super, super strong,

However, uh, there was the part where‐‐where it slowed down

and it was kinda‐‐ kinda did this groove moment.

Fell flat for me right there.

I was waiting for, "Okay, here we go,"

and it‐‐it‐‐it was, like, a transition

that I kinda saw coming.

I don't ever wanna see the transitions coming.

'cause you're so clean, you dance as a unit.

Some of the grooves are nice,

but there's just another level that you have to get to

to compete with people

who are gonna be on this show this year.

I think there's so much that I saw that is encouraging,

but I'm just also wondering, like, how far you can grow.

I would say you're, like, 80% there.

That's good. ‐ That's a good percentage.

I'll take that. ‐ I'll tell you,

but there's 20% that's that X factor

that makes you world‐class,

makes you "World of Dance" class.

‐ Remember, you need two yeses to get through to the Duels.

It's the dance Olympics, and this is kind of where

we can test our abilities as dancers.
