Previously on "Heartland"...

I thought once the new Maggie's was opened

- you'd be home for good. - Georgie,

you have to understand it's a franchise.

Yeah. It's a franchise so you'll open up

- another one and another. - I am broke.

I'm having a very hard time keeping my business afloat.

I think you can be a really good fit

for the management position.

- I would love that. - Good.

(BOTH CHUCKLE) I decided not to go.

I'll miss home and everyone here.

Anyone in particular?

(FLYER SNORTS AND WHINNIES)

(SNORTS)

(READING) "A moose and a goose together had juice,

but not the hippopotamus."

I know your dad does a much better job than I do,

but he's busy saving the wolves right now,

he'll be back home soon though, okay?

(PHONE RINGS)

Hello.

Hi, Lisa... yeah...

right now?

No, I-I can't... I've...

Okay. I will meet you there. Bye.

(BEEPS PHONE OFF)

(FOOTSTEPS THUD)

- (CLEARS THROAT) - Hey.

Hi Amy.

Uh, Mitch and I were just catching up.

I can see that.

- I'm gonna get back at it. - Okay.

There's my little baby niece.

Hi sweetie. Where are you guys off to?

Oh, I'm meeting Lisa at the racetrack.

Sounds like she's having a problem

with one of her racehorses.

I was gonna drop Lyndy off with Grandpa for a bit.

- I can take her in for you. - You sure?

Yeah. And uh, listen...

about Mitch...

Are you guys back on?

I don't know.

We haven't really had a chance to talk about it.

Well, yeah.

Probably because of all that "catching up" you've had to do.

(AMY CHUCKLES)

So, Lou's bringing your mom to Maggie's today.

How did she feeling about it?

She's really excited about this job actually.

- I think she'll do great. - Mhm.

So you glad to be sticking around for the summer?

Yeah, I mean, I'm gonna miss Lou and Katie of course,

but I'll get to compete on Flame,

and hang out with you.

There is gonna be lots of fun stuff to do.

There is these cool outdoor movies

and Summerfest will be a blast.

That sounds awesome, but...

What? What's up?

I kinda flunked my math final.

Oh...

Yes. So I have to make that up.

I can either do a retest, or I can go to Calgary

for summer school.

So, I'm gonna do summer school.

You're not even gonna try to pass the retest?

No. I've been studying, but...

algebra, you know, it's killing me.

Yeah. Word problems are the worst.

Yeah.

So we'll just hang out when we can.

JACK: Yeah, see, there she is.

You're gonna have your hands full,

thank you for offering to watch Katie and Brick too.

Jen's in a pinch for child-care.

Yeah, it's no trouble,

they're good company for each other.

Katie can't stop talking about Brick

ever since the mini-bronc clinic.

Oh, I remember when she was this age.

Now it seems like Katie is growing up so fast.

Yeah. So what's your plan for her this summer,

now that, now that Georgie's staying put?

Katie's still coming to New York with me.

Why? You're gonna be awful busy, aren't you?

Don't remind me.

The soft launch is only a month away,

and I still have a ton to organizing to do.

It doesn't sound like you'll have much time for Katie.

Well, I'm hiring a full-time nanny.

Well, I hope you know that Lisa and I,

we're more than happy to pitch in.

Georgie is here.

Maybe you'd consider Katie being here too?

LISA: Hey there.

This is Fairfield Flyer.

- Wow. He's beautiful. - He is.

I was all ready to sell,

and now he is just performing poorly,

and the sale has fallen through.

I'm sorry to hear that. So what can I do?

I just don't know what is going on,

I mean, he-he's just not living up to his potential,

and I would love if you'd to just please ride him

- and tell me what you think? - Yeah.

(HORSE SNORTS)

Come on. Hey! Hey! Get up! Get up! Get up!

Let's go! Come on!

(FLYER SNORTS)

- Ho. - MAN: I'll take him.

- Thanks. - Come on.

I see what you mean.

You know, I'm having a hard time getting him to focus,

and respond.

It's almost like he's tired or something.

Is that possible?

No, I mean, he-he's had the same training regimen for months.

I've had two vets come out. He's got no physical issues.

I need you to figure out what the problem is.

I don't know, Lisa,

I mean, I would love to help you, but Ty being gone...

What would it take for you to say yes?

(SIGHS)

I would need to work with him at Heartland,

- where I can be close to Lyndy. - I can do that, fine.

And then you'll make him a priority. Yes?

I'll do my best,

but these things take as long as they take.

I understand, I have just spent so much money on Flyer,

and it's... having an impact on my business.

So I just need you to get to the bottom of it,

- as soon as possible. Okay? - Okay.

? And at the break of day you sank into your dream ?

? You dreamer

? Oh, oh, oh, oh

? You dreamer

? You dreamer

I'm sorry, Georgie, not happening.

- C'mon Adam. - No. Forget it.

Please? Do it for me?

(EXASPERATED SIGH)

Fine. Okay.

I have some time tomorrow afternoon.

Thanks. It means a lot.

- See ya. - See ya.

What was that all about?

Oh. Wyatt failed his math final

so I asked Adam to tutor him.

Now all I have to do is convince Wyatt.

Okay. That's a terrible idea.

Why?

Well, for starters they have nothing in common.

And, you know, it can get be pretty messy

when different parts of your life start to interact

especially different parts of your love life.

Love life?

Wyatt and I are just friends and so are Adam and I now.

Okay. Don't say I didn't warn you.

So we just got in a new shipment,

so we're pretty good for stock right now.

But the inventory is tracked through the register,

so you'll know when you'll need to re-order.

Okay.

Hey, how's it going so far?

I've got a lot to learn,

but I'm looking forward to diving in.

Lou tells me you two have been working here a while,

so I'm really counting on your help to get me up to speed.

Well, I have a lot of great ideas,

- if you're open to suggestions. - Yes, of course.

Okay. Great.

Because last year I pitched this open mic night.

It was awesome, everybody loved it.

And of course Tim reneged on his promise

to do more of them, and...

You know this is really a more of a...

show-and-tell day for Jen why don't we let her settle in.

So a sister location, huh? Brooklyn, New York! Wow!

Yeah. Wow.

It's all feeling pretty crazy right about now.

That's a big deal.

Are you doing anything to celebrate?

I don't know, I hadn't thought about it.

I mean, it's a nice idea,

but I'm pretty swamped as it is so...

Well, thank you for the tour.

I should get going and pick up Brick.

It was really nice of Jack to offer to watch him.

- He's happy to do it. - And Katie?

Wow, what a life saver.

You know, Brick took his dad's death pretty hard.

And he even stopped speaking for a while.

So it is so nice to see him come out of his shell

- with your daughter. - Yeah.

Makes me feel like moving here wasn't a bad decision.

And that was too much information.

Not at all. And you know what?

Katie loves Brick; she hasn't stopped talking about him.

That's great. I'm a little worried

what's gonna happen when Katie goes back to New York.

Anyways I'll see you tomorrow.

- Okay. - Thank you.

(RECEDING FOOTSTEPS)

(DOOR OPENS)

Come on. (FLYER SNORTS)

(FRUSTRATED GRUNT) Come on, boy. Let's go!

(TRUCK RUMBLES)

Flyer, stretch out! Come on, come on.

(TACK JINGLES, FLYER SNORTS)

Get up, get up! Let's go!

(HOOVES THUD)

Come on.

(SNORTS)

That's better. Come on, come on!

There we go!

(FLYER SNORTS)

Who's this guy?

Fairfield Flyer, Lisa's racehorse.

(WHINNIES) Hey! Hey! Hey!

Whoa. What's up with him?

Most racehorses can be high-strung,

but this guy is beyond nervous.

I'm trying to get him to calm down a little bit.

What're you gonna do?

I think I'm gonna put him in the barn with the other horses.

See if that mellows him out.

Then I'm gonna call Lisa's trainer.

(SIGHS)

- Hey kiddo. - Hi mommy.

- Do you mind if I join you? - Hmhm.

- How was your day? - Good.

We helped GG baby-sit Lyndy,

and tomorrow we're gonna help him fix the fence!

That sounds awesome.

Hey, listen, sweetheart, I was talking to daddy

what do you think about spending the summer here?

Like Georgie?

Yeah, exactly like Georgie.

You could be with everybody here,

ride your pony, hang out with Brick whenever you want.

Oh, thank you, thank you, thank you!

Will you be here?

I have to go back to New York.

But I am gonna come and visit you and Georgie

as much as I can.

And your daddy is gonna be here a lot too.

I'm gonna miss you, Mommy.

I'm gonna miss you too.

I'm gonna get my trainer to call you.

- Okay. - Okay.

Thanks for dinner.

You give us a shout if you need anything.

Will do.

So I just talked to Katie about the summer.

And it turns out she'd really like to stay here too.

It was nice of you two to offer.

Of course, Peter and I, (PHONE RINGING)

we're gonna be here as much as we can...

Ah, sorry. It's Nicole.

I gotta, I just gotta take this.

Nicole, hi. What's up?

I was gonna tell you.

How could you not run that by me first?

Well, I didn't think I had to.

- Jack. - Lis.

This is a good thing. Katie will be with family,

and not with some nanny in New York City.

I know, but that's so much... (BIG EXHALE)

Yes, you're right. Of course, I'm sorry.

It's just I have a lot on my plate.

Now, we've talked about this. What's going on?

Okay,

this is just between you and me though, okay?

All right.

I couldn't find a tenant for my house in France.

I stand to lose Fairfield.

It's been with my family forever,

and I cannot be the one to lose it.

So I'm seeing the bank in the morning to refinance,

I need money to cover costs until everything is finalized,

and so I'm forced to sell Flyer.

I felt okay about it because Nathan Stockwell,

I like his operation; I like how he treats his animals.

But he's backed out

because of how Flyer is behaving.

If Amy doesn't figure out what's wrong with him,

and I can't convince him to reconsider,

then I'm going to have to auction him.

Oh, I'm so sorry to hear that.

(LISA CRIES)

Nothing else you can tell me.

I appreciate it. Thanks. Bye.

(BIG EXHALE)

You okay?

Yeah. It was just a really long night.

- Lyndy? - No... Flyer.

He was so restless.

He just kept pacing in him stall, calling out.

Was that Lisa's trainer?

Yeah. He said Flyer hasn't been performing very well

over the past couple of months.

But nothing in his routine has changed.

He still has the same trainers,

the same workout routine, the same food.

Same people around him.

Well, it looks like he lives a pretty pampered life.

Most racehorses do.

You know, they train hard so they need to be well rested.

(FLYER SNORTS) If he's not settled at night,

that might be the reason why he's not performing.

Yeah, I guess that can make sense.

But here's what I don't get.

It says here that he won a bunch of races eight years ago.

Flyer is a three year old.

That can't be the same horse.

How can this be wrong?

I don't know, I'm gonna go find out.

It says here a trailer carrying goats

slid into the ditch on Highway 10,

and several of the goats escaped.

(CHUCKLING)

Hi, did you talk to my trainer?

I did. And I didn't really find out anything new,

but Georgie found an articles on your website...

Flyer is a three year old,

how did he win races eight years ago?

Oh he didn't, technically.

What do you mean?

The horse that you are working with

is not the original Fairfield Flyer,

the one that won the races,

this one is a clone.

A clone?

Why didn't you tell me this before?

Maybe I anticipated this response,

but I don't see why it matters.

First of all, I have a lot of concern

for the health and welfare of cloned horses.

Amy, you know my horses get the best of everything.

Which why I don't understand what's happening with Flyer,

he should be performing like his genetic twin.

That doesn't guarantee that he's gonna be a winner!

Lisa, who even buys a cloned racehorse?

Lots of people do, Amy.

In fact, my purchaser was prepared to pay a premium for him.

I thought the racing association didn't allow

cloned horses to compete.

Clones are an accepted in polo, and the Olympics,

and other equestrian events.

And before long the racing world will be on board too.

What is the big deal for you about a closed horse?

For starters, cloning can result in malformed organs,

respiratory issues, compromised immune system...

Okay.

Amy, if you don't wanna work with the horse, that's fine.

I'll find someone who does!

- Yeah. Well, maybe you should! - Fine...

Okay, I think we can all just take a breath.

I don't really have time for a breath.

I have a meeting in town. Excuse me.

(SCOFFS) Did you know about this?

No. No I didn't.

She could have been a little more up front about it,

- I guess. - Yeah. She could have.

Cloning! I mean, how long has she been doing this anyway?

What was she thinking?

That the first Flyer made a whole bunch of money

so let's just clone him and make some more!

Since when has Lisa been just about the money?

It's never been just about the money for Lisa...

that's part of what got her in this position.

What position?

Being forced to sell a horse she doesn't wanna sell.

Hold on, if she doesn't want to sell the horse,

then why is she?

(RELUCTANT GRUNT)

Maybe if you had a tutor

you'd have a chance at passing the retest.

- Yeah, maybe, but who? - Adam.

You serious? No. No way.

I don't even know the guy.

He agreed to help.

You talked to him about it already?

Actually, he'll be here any second.

Seriously?

Come on, I'm just trying to help you out.

So? Will you do it? Please?

He can be a little hard to get to know at first,

and he might seem a little bit odd, but...

(DOOR OPENS)

We should get started.

(SARCASTIC) So that went well.

I had no idea.

Amy, I don't want you to do anything

that makes you feel uncomfortable...

I don't agree with it, grandpa.

But I will see what I can do to help.

It'll mean a lot... to Lisa and to me.

Thank you.

What a beautiful spot.

Well, it's a mess right now.

And it's normally full of guests this time of year.

But with me away in New York

things have fallen through the cracks.

Now, you got me.

Don't worry, I'll get it all cleaned up

and get your bookings back on track.

I'm so happy to hear you say that. You have no idea.

And by the way, if you have any suggestions about this place

or Maggie's... just let me know.

I'm all about empowering the people I work with.

Actually then, I do have one suggestion.

Oh, already... fire away.

Last night, I was thinking about the launch in New York,

what if we did something at the diner to celebrate?

Hold an event? Just before you leave.

Something little, maybe with music?

You know that open mic night Jade talked about,

really wasn't as successful as she made it sound.

Maybe, but it's really about celebrating your success,

plus it would give me a chance to meet my customers!

- (PHONE CHIMES) - Oh sorry.

(SMALL LAUGH)

Um, okay, sure...

Great! Then I will head to Maggie's now.

Great. I'll meet you there.

(KEYS TAP, MESSAGE SENT CHIMES)

Wow, this is good timing.

I just finished picking up supplies.

I was heading back to Heartland.

Well good.

Look at us having a coffee date.

(SMALL CHUCKLE)

Lou...

(SIGHS)

What are we doing here?

Okay. Okay.

I guess we have to talk about this eventually.

I know you didn't come back here for me,

but here you are... and here I am.

Maybe we can just forget about last year?

Start fresh.

Look... things are still crazy busy for me in New York,

and they're only gonna get more nuts as we ramp up to open.

Honestly? I can't wait for it to be over.

But Katie and Georgie are here

and I'm gonna be back a lot more and...

maybe we could just... see what happens?

I don't-I don't wanna see what happens.

The fact is, Lou that I...

(SIGHS)

I'm in love with you.

And I'm in this, if you are.

Yes. Yes, I'm-I'm-I'm in.

I'm so in.

- Yeah? - Yeah.

Ed cuts a piece of paper from one corner to the other,

making 2 triangles.

If the paper is 8 centimetres long and 15 centimetres wide,

how long is... (PHONE RING TONE PLAYS A SONG)

I've gotta take this.

Hey, did you get the tickets? Awesome!

Okay... I can't really talk.

I'll call you later. Bye.

Sorry. My girlfriend.

Was that ring tone Endless Days?

Yeah. I'm a big fan.

I have never met anyone who's even heard of them.

You're kidding? You're into music?

Yeah. Big time.

I even mess around a bit on the ukulele.

Cool.

You heard any of their other stuff or just that?

I have their whole collection.

I have it on, I have it vinyl.

You wanna go back to my place and listen to it.

Sounds good.

Hey, how's it going?

It's not bad.

- Where are you off to? - My place.

Yeah, he's got a really cool record collection.

So we're just gonna go study there.

I thought you and I were gonna do something later.

My shift is almost over.

Yeah. We'll just... hang out after?

- Yeah. Okay... sure. - Okay, bye.

Well, looks like the odd balls hit it off.

I guess everything worked out for you after all.

Good boy.

See, that feels good, doesn't it?

- Lisa. - Hi.

Look... I'm-I'm sorry.

Of course I should've told you that he's a clone.

(SIGHS) It's okay.

I went ahead and had Cassandra from the vet clinic out

to check him over, and you were right,

there is nothing physically wrong.

She said that massage might help calm him down.

I'm surprised after our conversation

that you're working on him at all.

Don't think this means that I'm suddenly okay with cloning.

Because I'm not.

But Grandpa told me about your... financial problems...

and I would like to do whatever I can

to help him go to a good home.

Well... I appreciate that.

- Thank you. - (LYNDY CRIES)

But right now, I have a little girl who needs me.

Of course.

I think I wanna open it up and expand the party outside.

- Outside? - Yeah!

Can't you picture it with the stage and the lights,

- and all kinds of stuff. - Oh Jen... I don't know.

I remember my Dad grumbling about some town by-laws.

Oh yeah, I've already cleared it with Municipal Services.

- You did? - Yeah.

It's the kind of person I am,

who like to jump in feet first, and figure it out as I go.

But I know you're really busy

so I will take care of everything.

- Okay. - Okay, I gotta go. Sorry.

- Hey, let me take care of that. - Okay.

(SURPRISED EXHALE)

Mitch look, we found a goat.

I named him Floppy. Isn't he adorable?

JACK: I found him up it up there on the north fence line.

Come back here now.

I'm guessing it came from that accident.

Oh yeah. Yeah, I heard about that.

I didn't think it would be a good idea

to leave it out there on its own. So I brought it home.

Probably be an easy target.

Well, if you find a place to put it

I'll call the newspaper.

- (FLOPPY BLEATS) - Sure, great.

Okay kids; let's get this goat settled in.

- Okay. - Come on, Floppy.

(BLEATS)

Lis, you'll never guess...

What's this?

This isn't working.

You clearly do not respect the severity of my situation

or-or my time.

Well... I think that's overstating things a little.

Is it? You-you agreed to have Katie come and stay with us

for the entire summer without checking with me.

And...

And what?

You ask me to share things with you

and then you break your promise by telling Amy

about my personal finances!

Do you realize that if it gets out,

it can jeopardize my business dealings.

Amy's not about to tell anyone...

You don't know that!

We're clear not on the same page about this.

And I just don't... I'm going back to Fairfield.

- For how long? - I don't know.

This isn't working for me right now.

(DOOR SLAMS)

There you go, Floppy.

He's adorable! (MITCH CHUCKLES)

So? I hear you're sticking around for the summer.

Yeah. I didn't want to pass up the opportunity

- to compete on Flame. - Yeah, that makes sense.

Sounds like Lou is gonna be around a lot more too,

once they open up that new location

I doubt it.

Her and Nicole are talking about opening another one.

I know she wants to be home more,

but I don't know how realistic that is.

Heh.

(FOLIAGE RUSTLES IN THE WIND)

(APPROACHING FOOTSTEPS)

You okay, Jack?

I thought you were going out?

I was, but Wyatt bailed.

He's studying with Adam instead.

Oh.

Shh. I'm babysitting for a bit.

There we go.

Amy is working with Lisa's horse.

Oh well, my plans fell through

I can see if I can go help.

I think Amy would like that.

Where is Lisa anyway?

Well, she's over at Fairfield.

Oh? Can I expect her for dinner?

I doubt she'll make it tonight.

Why? Is something wrong? Everything okay?

I'm not exactly sure.

Look, I know that Lisa and I don't always see eye to eye,

but Amy might have accidentally let it slip

that Lisa's having money problems.

So, now you know too?

See this is... I shouldn't have said anything.

Lou, it's really none of your business.

I know. It's not.

But I also know how stressful money problems can be.

I mean, it's been life for the past year, grandpa.

It just sounds like she's going through a lot.

Yeah. She was pretty upset when she left here.

I didn't get much chance to apologize and...

What's stopping you now?

Hmm.

You ever worked with a clone before?

Not that I've known of.

I don't think it matters how he made it into this world,

I think he just needs to be treated like any other horse.

I get that he's supposed to be a big-shot racehorse,

but maybe he doesn't wanna be?

He supposedly had this great life,

but seemed kind of boring and lonely to me.

(RECEDING FOOTSTEPS CRUNCH)

Maybe she's right. (FLOPPY BLEATS)

(FLYER SNORTS)

(FLOPPY BLEATS)

(FLYER SNORTS)

Do you two wanna meet?

(FLOPPY BLEATS)

Okay, Georgie, let him go.

Okay, Floppy!

Come on, Floppy.

I've heard that some racehorses can become

really attached to things like goats or pigs.

- Seriously? - Yeah.

I know it seems like a weird pairing,

but I guess sometimes it just works.

So, what do we do now?

Well, we'll let these guys hangout.

Get to know each other and then maybe...

Fairfield Flyer will be a little bit more relaxed

and focused on the track.

It's just like Wyatt and Adam.

- What? - Wyatt is struggling with math,

so I asked Adam to help tutor him...

Okay.

Wyatt and I were gonna hangout,

but the he decided to tutor with Adam instead.

Then we were gonna hangout tonight

and he bailed on me again.

He says they're studying, but...

I think he just wants to hangout with Adam.

We're supposed to be friends,

so I don't know why he can't just be honest with me.

Are you sure that's what's bothering you?

What do you mean?

Maybe you're interested in Wyatt as

more then just a friend?

(FLOPPY BLEATS)

Well, I figured I'd come see this for my self.

(CHUCKLES) It's like he's a totally different horse.

(FLYER SNORTS) Well, you should know that...

if he improves enough,

Lisa is hoping her buyer will take another look.

And who's the buyer?

- Uh, Nathan Stockwell. - I know him.

His daughter was a client of mine.

Do you think maybe it would help if I talked to him?

Well, it couldn't hurt.

But here is the thing...

Lisa doesn't want word about her situation getting out.

Yeah, I get it. I won't, Grandpa.

(FLOPPY BLEATS)

Ah. The goat's owner called me back.

He's coming to get it.

Well, that can't happen.

Wha...? Well, it's his goat.

Prize goat, apparently.

I don't think I've ever said those two words together.

Grandpa, I'm not kidding, we can't separate these two.

I mean, look at them?

This is the answer to Flyers problems.

You've gotta figure something out...

for Flyer's sake and for Lisa's.

Flyer does seem calmer.

Yeah, I guess he needed a security blanket.

(BOTH LAUGH)

- So what now? - Well, let's see if it helped.

(HOOVES THUNDER)

Lyndy, see wave!

(HOOVES THUNDER)

Well, looking good.

Yeah, he's really coming along.

Well, we should head out. Don't wanna be late.

Okay. Well, Amy you need to get ready.

- I'll untack Flyer. - Thanks, Grandpa.

Hey, are you sure you Don't wanna come?

You know, Jen hasn't had much time to put this together

so there probably won't be many people there.

Then one less body won't make difference.

Plus I've got a few things I need to take care of.

(CLICKS TONGUE)

(COUNTRY MUSIC PLAYS)

- Wow, this looks amazing! - Yeah!

Hey Jade.

Maggie's resident mixologist at your service!

Wow, Maggie's has a mixologist?

- What are these? - No-jitos.

Mmm. They're actually pretty good.

Mmm.

Yeah, if you guys like these you should try the real ones.

(CHUCKLES)

- Hey. - Hey.

I didn't know you were coming.

I had to congratulate the woman of the hour.

Thank you.

Hey, um, I'll catch up with you guys in a bit,

there's someone I need to meet.

Okay.

Lou! It's the guest of honour!

Hi. Oh my Gosh! This is amazing.

Honestly I didn't think you could pull it off

in such short notice.

Neither did I.

(BOTH LAUGH)

Oh, I'm sorry. This is Jen.

Oh yeah, you're the new manager around here.

And at the Dude Ranch. And this is Mitch, my...

I work at Heartland with Tim and Jack.

Right. So nice to finally meet you.

Okay, well... I'm gonna get back to it,

meet my customers. Have fun!

Okay.

Listen, this time around,

I really think that we should be up front with people

about our status.

Yeah... about that...

What?

You know what? This isn't really the time or place...

That doesn't sound good.

Now you have to tell me.

I'm really happy for you.

For all your success with New York.

I mean, you... you deserve it.

But...

But, I mean, this is only the beginning

of your "American Expansion."

You guys are planning on opening up other locations, right?

Yeah, we've discussed it. Why?

Listen, having you back here in my life has been...

has been amazing.

And I got caught up.

I did, but I have to be realistic here.

Where is this coming from?

Mitch, you said...

I know. I know what I said.

And I meant it. I do, every word.

So then what is the problem?

I can't do this, Lou, I...

- I thought I could, but I... - Mitch...

I can't. No misread signs, no misunderstandings,

Although that has been our go to.

The bottom line is that you're not gonna be around here.

And I'd never be happy there,

so the ball's in your court.

You have to decide what's important to you.

(EMOTIONAL SIGH)

Thank you for meeting with me.

Least I could do. Emma still talks about

how you helped her out.

How is she doing? How's Thunder doing?

They're both doing really well.

Emma's getting married this fall.

Tell her congratulations from me.

I will. Yeah, it's pretty crazy how the time flies.

If you don't know that already, you're about to learn.

So?

Lisa tells me you're working with Flyer?

I am. And I think he's worth another look.

Well, I have to admit I did have high hopes.

But I wasn't all that impressed with his performance.

Well, we found some issues with his training routine,

so we've changed them, and it's made a huge impact.

I really think it's worth your time.

I tell you what,

I've got a young racehorse in my stable.

Now he's been on a winning streak.

What do you say we put them head-to-head on the track,

see what happens.

Sounds like a plan.

(AMY CHUCKLES, LYNDY COOS)

(WOMAN SINGS A COUNTRY SONG)

(LOW HUM OF CHATTER AND LAUGHTER)

I just took a crazy, tough practice test today.

- Oh, yeah? - Yeah!

The good news is I passed!

So I'm gonna take the retest.

He's totally ready.

Well, yeah, that's... that's cool, it's great...

I need to get back to the kitchen so...

Hey Georgie...

you okay?

Yeah. Of course!

Yeah? Because... I don't know you seem kinda off.

What... what's wrong?

It's you and Adam...

Just didn't expect you guys to become such great friends

all of a sudden.

Look, he's a great guy.

And I might actually have an outside shot

of passing this retest now,

and that wasn't even like remotely

a possibility last week. And that's thanks to you.

And if I do pass, the retest, then

me and you can hang out more.

So... you'd like that?

Duh.

That's why I've been studying so hard.

(SONG ENDS, CROWD APPLAUDS)

Okay, I'll prove it to you.

Stay here, okay? Don't... just don't leave.

What are you doing?

Hi Can I just really quickly use this?

- Oh, sure. - Okay, thank you.

(TAPS) Testing.

Hi, um...

I'm Wyatt and I've never done this before,

but this is for someone special out there.

(PLAYS THE UKULELE)

? There's not need to complicate it ?

? Dress it up or overstate it

? Without too much hesitation

? Here is the way I feel

? I like you, I like you ?

? Even when I don't try to

? Yes, I do, That's the truth ?

? I like you

Holly Molly.

(JACK CHUCKLES) Good to see you.

What is going on here?

Lis, I'm sorry,

I know you're under a lot of stress,

and I should have never have added to that.

I know I said too much to Amy,

but I'm hoping you'll understand

I was only trying to help.

I could do more, I would,

but you gotta know. I'm in your corner.

I know.

And I'm sorry. I overreacted.

I know it's so not like me.

(BOTH LAUGH)

I wonder if I can come home.

You are.

(UKULELE PLAYS)

Well...? (LISA LAUGHS)

Hey, I bought you something.

You bought me something?

? I like you, I like you ?

? Even when I don't try to

? Yes, I do, That's the truth ?

? I like you

(SONG ENDS)

(CHEERING AND APPLAUSE)

Wow. That was adorable.

So cute.

Where's Mitch?

(SIGHS)

(GEORGIE GIGGLES) (EMBARRASSED) Oh.

Thank you all so much for coming to this event.

I'm Jen, Maggie's new manager.

And I'm so thrilled to be working here,

and to meet each and everyone of you personally.

We are all here because of one very special person.

So give it up for Lou Fleming.

Yeah Lou! (CLAPPING, CHEERING)

Thank you! (LYNDY CRIES)

I should probably get her home.

Oh yeah, I'll come with you.

No. Lou, this is your day.

Just stay and enjoy it.

Okay.

(LOW HUM OF CHATTER) (SIGHS)

Huh? A goat?

Sure seems to settle Flyer down.

Well, you sure know how to sweep a girl

right off her feet, don't ya?

(JACK LAUGHS) What do you think?

Uh, I... I cannot believe how relaxed he is.

He's gonna take on a young racehorse

- at the track tomorrow. - He is? Really?

- Is he ready? - I'm counting on it.

I convinced Nathan Stockwell to give him another chance.

You did? Oh my...

Thank you so much. Thank you both.

(FLOPPY BLEATS)

(ALL CHUCKLE, FLYER WHINNIES CALMLY)

Oh, you look tired. How are you?

I'm all right...

How's my little girl doing?

She's doing great.

I think she misses her daddy though, don't you?

Can you wave to Daddy? Say hi.

Daddy misses you too, Lyndy.

And my other girl? That race is today right?

Yeah.

I'm a little bit nervous about it.

Don't be.

You're gonna do great.

Thanks. I love you.

I love you too. Both of you.

Bye, Daddy. Bye...

(WHINNIES)

- Hey! You made it. - Yeah, yeah, of course.

It's not every day you get to see a private horse race.

Yeah. (FLOPPY BLEATS)

Notice anything different?

- No. Should I? - Maybe.

You're taking to a free man.

I don't get it.

Yeah. Um...

I took the retest and I... I passed!

- No way! Congrats! - Thank you.

So I guess you'll be seeing a lot of me this summer...

if you want...

(RESTLESS SNORTING)

(HORSE WHINNIES)

(HOOVES THUNDER)

Oh no.

Hup, hup, hup, come on, let's go!

You can do this. You can do this.

Come on! Come on! Come on!

(HOOVES THUNDER)

Come on, boy!

(FLOPPY BLEATS)

Let's go!

(WHINNIES)

(HOOVES THUNDER)

Oh. Oh. Oh.

Yes! Come on! Come on!

- Amy! - She's making a move!

That's good!

(HOOVES THUNDER)

(HORSE SNORTS)

- Oh! Oh! - Yeah!

- Come on! - Oh my goodness!

(HOOVES THUNDER)

- (EXCITED) Yes! Yeah! - Oh my goodness!

(CLAPPING AND CHEERING)

She did it!

- That's good. - Yes!

- That was incredible. - Yeah, that was awesome!

- She did it! - She sure did.

You two were terrific out there.

Nice job, Amy!

It was all down to this guy!

- You were amazing! - Yeah, that was really great.

Well, Lisa... I can admit when I'm wrong.

He clocked a fast time. You've got yourself a deal.

Well, Nathan it's actually a package deal now.

What does that mean?

The goat goes too.

I made a promise... it's all or nothing.

The goat helps him focus.

The goat?

(FLOPPY BLEATS) You're serious about this?

Well, you saw it with your own eyes.

I mean, you want a winner, or not?

Who can argue with that? Deal.

Good. Thank you.

(LISA LAUGHS)

Hey Chuck, I bought a goat!

- (FLOPPY BLEATS) - Thank you.

That is the best present you ever gave me.
