authorities for a score of violent

crimes

and this is Sam Milton with a price on

his head of

$1,000 in the late 80s Outlaws were

springing up like weeds Sam

Milton Luke Holden John

rackam Bill Drake Kurt Dixon and yet the

combined efforts of the Texas Rangers

and the Mexican rurales fail to arrest a

single one of

[Music]

them American Outlaws notorious for

their crimes and Rich with plunder were

mysteriously disappearing where too

nobody knew but failure to bring the

guilty to Justice was causing widespread

criticism and alarm special action had

to be taken if lawlessness was to be

stuck June of 18 1987 saw Captain

Richard Henley of the Texas Rangers on

his way to Copper City his mission to

uncover The Mystery of the disappearing

Outlaws at all costs traveling with

Henley was Jose Vargas Colonel of the

Mexican rurales and Charles brutin a

close friend of

both one of these three men was not

same as every other Outlaw if your hunch

is right I know I'm right we're looking

for someone who makes a business of

hiding Outlaws find out who that person

is and we stand a chance of recovering

half a million dollars in loot as well

as capturing the

Outlaws tell me Captain Who besides

yourself knows what my real job is no

one not even Colonel V of the Mexican

rurales and I trust him almost as much

as I do you it's possible that some of

your own Rangers might be responsible

for helping these Outlaws disappear yes

it's possible but it isn't very probable

however that's what we're going to find

out now your only lead is a man named

Morgan runs a general store in COA City

I suspect he's a contact man for the

ring leaders higher up but there's no

point in putting him under arrest until

we find out who his boss is now your

toughest job for the next few weeks is

going to be staying out of the way of my

ranges until you've had a chance to talk

to

Morgan well the longer I put it off the

that'll be $8

even your name Morgan that's right a

fellow you know told me to look you up

you get rid of that

Army why should I cuz I'm here to talk

the same kind of a deal you gave Ace

Dawson Ace Dawson he was one of those

Outlaws that disappeared wasn't he

probably told you if you ever got into

trouble to go see a man named Morgan and

in Copper

City Tucker keep a watch

outside man here wants to talk

business what's the idea Ace Dawson gave

you a bad steer mister I'm working with

the law Outlaws get word that I can help

them and show up here I turn them over

to the Rangers and collect the reward if

any you may fool the Rangers with that

kind of talk Mister but you're wasting

it on me

I've come to the right place and you

know it who are you named Steve Carson

Steve Carson killed Captain Henley this

morning and robbed him of $10,000 he was

carrying in a money

belt where is that money you think I'd

be soft hted enough to bring it with

me suppose you tell me who else was on

that stage besides Henley I can tell you

anything you want to know about it

Morgan keep talking I TI a ticket to mat

wrestling match tonight buy a ticket

here hey like go to the master match

tonight Mister uh by thinket the rle

match huh big match tonight it is well

that you are staying here until this

outlaw Steve Carson is found I will see

you in El Dorado ad Charles bye

Don

bye have a good

trip hey did I hear him say Steve Carson

I know him boy there's a nicer fell as

ever I met I've known him from way back

Mr

Brute

I'd like for you to identify an omry

that just walked into Morgan's store

Steve Carson the gun guard thought it

was him just wanted to make sure before

we start any

fireworks hey hey what goes on here who

wait wait a

minut the r just coming I got to get out

of here hold it keeping covered Tucker

turn me over to the Rangers and you'll

never see that 10,000 Morgan it's too

late now I've got to play it my way

just in time Starling I was about to

send for you this ombre claims to be

Steve Carson good work

Morgan yes that's definitely the man who

shot Captain Henry this

morning see if he has that money belt on

him that gangway hey let let me in

[Music]

here

[Music]

he's outside

after

split up and go around the

[Music]

[Applause]

building

down

[Music]

I got these two men to clean up the mess

they'll work for 50 cents an hour you

find brooms and mops over there and put

everything back where it

belongs well you hear what man said hold

out joh there

right better lock that door

Morgan

I thought you cleared out a copper City

we didn't finish our

conversation all right Steve you can put

up that gun of yours I believe you're

what you say are and we can talk

business Tucker get Mr Carson a drink

not yet you sure had me convinced you're

sided in with the Rangers Morgan I got

them convinced too which is more healthy

for me

smoke take you for instance Steve

maybe you was an outlaw and maybe you

wasn't maybe you was a government agent

or a Wells Fargo detective trying to get

a line on the half a millionar or so of

loot that ain't been recovered get to

the point the point is if I didn't have

the law believing I was working with

them how long do you think they'd let me

stay in business you can get that drink

Tucker good good the price will be

$10,000 that's pretty steep not for an

outlaw that killed a ranger it ain't

especially Captain Henley

there ain't a man in his outfit that

won't make it his life's work to get you

who do I pay and where do I

go that would be giving away secrets you

just follow instructions and the law

won't be able to touch you for the rest

of your natural life well than it over

you'll take it or leave

it

now what do I do I knew we could make a

deal the boss will be very glad to hear

about it give you his personal welcome

when you get where your you're

going be at this place tomorrow at noon

and bring the money with

you now put everything back where it

belong w't you look where you go why

don't you go where you're looking what

the with you all time left

[Music]

[Music]

hey hey open up let me in

there where you go well look there's

something I want to tell you it's about

Steve Carson you fellas are making a big

mistake what's that well yeah I've been

trying to tell you all afternoon you

wouldn't listen to me Steve Carson ain't

no Outlaw this man's Loco Mr brutin I'm

not brutin Mr Loco I mean look I've

known Steve Carson for a long time way

back see and he wouldn't even hurt a fly

I bet you dollars to Donuts he's working

for the government on some secret job

right now it's a funny way of doing it

shooting down Captain Henley In Cold

Blood well he wouldn't do that you must

have seen somebody else and thought you

saw Steve pay any attention to him the

only record on Steve Carson is a

criminal one besides Captain Henley

recognized him and called him by name

when he was shot yes of

course that's a

lie boss we made a deal with Steve

Carson oh I was afraid you might

something wrong there's a 50-50 chance

he's a government man you saw him kill

Henley I saw him fire his gun at Henley

I saw Henley fall down but that doesn't

necessarily mean that he killed him or

that his bullets even grazed

him how far have you gone with him he's

to be at the cross Trails a half a mile

north of Pine Bluff tomorrow at noon

he'll have the money with him why don't

we take the money and let the Rangers

find his body if he's a government man

he let the Rangers spotted out there

watching well if he is a government man

maybe the Rangers don't even know it

that's possible there's one way to make

sure Tucker tip Starling and his men to

be at the cross Trails when Steve Carson

shows up you see that way it'll keep you

in the clear where will you be El

Dorado I'm leaving

tonight I can see myself going down the

track with all of my get together on my

back short on money and Sh on grub make

the old clothes go rubby dubdub the rich

get richer and the par get poor for half

an ocean I'd starve to death ring I get

out of there you don't like

soap stay out of

[Music]

there

[Music]

[Applause]

[Music]

w

[Music]

hey what are you up to now we got a job

doing what we earning money to pay for

Mr M what we done at this

store $2,000 reward Oh Brother Steve is

really in a mess now he sure is he a't

got a chance either I'll say he ain't

the Rangers already left with a p to go

get him they'll get him too cuz they

know right where he'll be at 12:00 yeah

it'll be at the cross trail just beyond

Pine Bluff 12:00 cross Trails Pine Bluff

I got to warn him oh he's really in

trouble hit him right in his head I bet

he don't even know

[Music]

it

[Music]

it's noon now where is he oh he'll show

up Morgan's got him believing it's his

only chance to

escape

[Music]

probably lying low because he can't see

anybody ride down there like You're

[Music]

Expecting

[Music]

here

com hey why don't you look where you're

going what are you doing here well I got

to warn a paline have you seen him his

explore it and don't you go

[Music]

away come on out of

[Music]

there yes sir Mr drango do you live here

you've been claiming you a friend of

Steve Carson yes sir I have he's one of

the nicest Fells I've ever known and

people's been saying he's an outlaw and

he ain't no more Outlaw than I am you

know what I think I think he's just a

playing like he's an outlaw so he can

get in good with them Crooks and that's

why all them Rangers is a chasing him

and I just had to warn him so that's

what happened what' you say never mind

from now on forget about Steve Carson if

you really want to help him forget you

ever knew him oh yes sir Mr

drango I promise I give you my word of

Honor I promise I won't do nothing to

help Steve from now on see that you

[Music]

don't

[Music]

get in

there

stop talking Tucker how was this s and

give you to tip him off where to find

Steve Carson I didn't tell honest I

didn't stop lying you and Morgan passed

up $10,000 because you were too scared

to go through with your deal well I'm

collecting that money from Carson myself

and you're going to help me I don't know

anything you know where the other

Outlaws were sent you know where Morgan

planned to send Steve I'm giving you 10

seconds to tell

me open

up you'll be a dead man a minute that

door C es in Tucker where do the Outlaws

Go From Here across the border El Dorado

where in

elor Elon C be quick I want to name of

[Music]

Durango

[Music]

[Music]

Raider

[Music]

sake of

and gracias

[Music]

graci

[Music]

what are you two doing

here

well we figured Steve Carson was going

to show up at the oraton cafe after all

somehow the Rangers got a tip that

Carson was crossing the border not only

the Rangers but the Mexican rurales as

well they're putting up reward notices

all over the place you two have a lot of

explaining to do and if I find out

there's been a leak the Durango kid

corner Tucker and force some information

out of him the Durango

kid and how did he get mixed up in

this that's what set me thinking Mr

brutin He Knew Too Much About Steve

Carson's Affairs have you told anyone

else about this of course not well don't

if what you say is true and Steve Carson

does show up here we ready for him now

get back to the cafe and lay

low I'll send for you when I want

you I'll be back for him in 20

[Music]

minutes senior American

you are very rich Pedro very poor you

have P so for Pedro yes and for that you

can give me some information about a CA

call the AL Ron you'd be shot full of

holes the minute you showed your face

there Steve Henry I was beginning to

think you'd never show up and then I was

afraid you would you got to make

yourself scarce you're H than a

firecracker in this town you've been

spotted listen 1 M south of town trail

[Music]

[Music]

[Music]

[Music]

Steve hey pretty nice spot Captain

pigeons and all huh yeah as soon as we

have a report to make they'll fly back

with us

say what do you suppose happens to an

outlaw when he shows up at the Raton

Cafe I don't know one sure thing you

can't show up there until Vargas and his

rali stop watching the place I can't

figure how they knew I was supposed to

go there Steve I got a hunch that

somebody in COA city is selling

information to anyone who'll pay for it

for instance H has been a character

wandering around Eldorado for the last

few days asking about you that wouldn't

be Smiley Bernett would it yes that's

the man oh Henley we're sunk I can

handle Outlaws but I can't handle that

smiley how about some gra Steve

[Music]

[Applause]

[Music]

good

much hello or something hat bonus

daisies or how you been

goodby I've just been but I'll come

again excuse me uh

[Music]

seor

[Music]

came a warm summer night and Fiesta and

my heart was just bursting with love all

I needed was a fair

Sorita and Cupid to give me a

shove upon a balcony I fer like a dream

with a rose in her hair and the words

the S had taught me i s to the angel up

there

or and she dropped the flower pot on my

[Music]

head oh how do I know what I've said

that Senor Place tricks out suspicions

for I couldn't Dodge all it she thre

I don't know just what all I told her

but it wasn't my sweet I love you love

you it wasn't my sweet I love

[Music]

you then next day I ran into the senior

who had taught me the love words to say

says I to this fell look mister I nearly

got killed

yesterday don't worry said he she's just

teasing and tonight the red rose in her

hair she'll toss it and then you will

catch it mhm when you sing these love

words to her

there and she yanked out a pistol and

fired burita e Aries I made that first

bullet look tired when I have the nerve

to go back there that Sor he'd better

play dead for I'm a fixing the SHO shoot

me on omry when I can find out what I

said I said when I can find out what I

[Music]

said I bet you didn't even recognizes do

you call out a disguise for the ni a't

it no it ain't look you fellas have got

to think of something else you got to

make yourself look so nobody's going to

know you like I

[Music]

have hey that's Tim Starling of the

Texas Rangers now I've got to find

Steven

warning go that

[Music]

way hello Paul is in your brutin in oh

come in come

in D Jose you're always welcome in my

home Charles well Mr Starling what

brings you here I believe we're close to

solving the mystery of the disappearing

Outlaws Mr brutin you don't say I'm no

longer with the Texas Rangers I resigned

so I could come down here and personally

take care of the matter of Steve Carson

seor Starling has brought inside

information that Steve Carson would try

to contact somebody at a cafe in town

called El

Ron let me offer you something to drink

no thank you never use it oh you do not

seem very surprised Charles I

am no I'm not

surprised but I'm Amazed

amazed gentlemen that my simple plan

should have borne fruit so soon what do

you mean your plan Steve Carson is

taking my bait I heard he was seen in

Eldorado today that is right gentlemen I

should have told you this earlier but I

personally am responsible for

establishing the rumor that is bringing

Steve Carson to El Raton Cafe Captain

Henley was a close friend of mine too

and it just struck me as a good way to

trap his

murderer then we are no closer to

uncovering the organization that has

been hiding these Outlaws no I'm afraid

not but we will get Steve Carson and

that's what I'm most interested in you

won't even get him if you don't call off

your men and let him go into the place

I'll talk this over with my captain of

rurales would you like to join us well

I'd be delighted to help any way I can

say in about an hour maybe in Vargas Mr

staling Goodbye Mr bruttin

goodbye

you sent forth Mr brutin yes Starling

was just

here he felt that you overcharged him

for that tip on the Raton

Cafe I don't know what you're talking

about

Tucker what about that well it's news to

me too then why are you so upset you're

so nervous scared no no I'm not I feel

fine what have I got to be scared about

I haven't done anything Tucker has

proven himself worthy of

sanctuary you've earned your last

drink Paul yes

[Music]

sir no no you don't mean me I told you I

haven't done anything you're all aware

that this part of northern Mexico has

many underground rivers and streams

Eldorado receives its water supply from

this one Outlaws get peace in sanctuary

where the law can never find

them Outlaws

and double

crossers I don't know what you mean boss

because you work for me a long time

Tucker the fee will be very small I will

only charge you the same amount of money

you received from Starling you got me

all

wrong the r angle kid he found out he

probably told

him oh you got to believe me besides I

was going to turn the money over to you

see if he's got the money on

him but please you got to believe me I

didn't double cross you there it is

please don't you understand I didn't

double cross you please you got to

believe me don't give him what he paid

for don't don't please help

[Music]

Vargas has called off the r rallies he

has it looks like they're going to give

you a chance to show up at the cafe but

I'm afraid it's just a trap that's a

chance I'll have to take Captain I'm

going back and keep an eye on things

whatever you do don't show up until I

check with you you got to watch for sure

I took this off Mr brutin the geologist

remember meet me at the South edge of

town at 9: tonight what if you can't

make it what do you mean well try trying

to protect me you might back into plenty

of trouble yourself that's my Lookout I

don't want you to try to help me Steve

don't forget your only value to the

government is as an outlaw 9:00 tonight

Captain

Leading me straight to you bruten now

you can save time by coming to the point

you wish to know my secret is that it

right you'd like to know it becomes of

the Outlaws who appeal to me for

Sanctuary very

well raise the Trap

[Music]

Morgan you see there's really no mystery

to it at all no wonder the law never

knew what became of those

Outlaws many desperate men have

entrusted their safety to me they paid

well I get my word the law never found

them again you see I actually was doing

a service to my country I was ridding it

of its dangerous

criminals

[Music]

[Applause]

that's all

Durango I usually offer Outlaws a last

drink before they depart however I'm

afraid that in your case I must forego

that

pleasure arus thanks for saving my life

put him under arrest wait if it hadn't

been for Durango as well as Steve Carson

we'd never have caught up with brutin I

have often heard of the American Outlaw

working together with the law but I do

not like masked

men however

gentlemen because of the service he has

done us I think we should all turn our

backs BL you

Amigos

put in your brutin under

arrest

mission accomplished I have included a

recommendation that Tim stalling be

allowed extra ammunition for target

practice you know for a Texas Ranger Tim

you're a pretty bad shot well you want

to be glad of that Captain I guess I am

if his aim had been any better I

wouldn't have had breath enough to tell

him the truth you know when bruton's men

recognized his watch it sure gave me the

tip I needed well let's get this message

off a carrier Pig will get back to the

States a lot quicker than we

can come and get it dinner is served
