[A Romance of the Little Forest]

[Episode 29] [But I'm pursuing more than this.]

Thankfully, we arrived in time.

They need treatment.

Exactly.

You've worked hard.

Yes, captain.

Right.

Get up.

Zhuang Yu.

Are you alright? Zhuang Yu?

Help! Help him!

[Three days later]

It is so touching.

For love,

I will sacrifice my life.

He'd save you with his life.

It must be true love.

The hero came to the rescue.

That's an unforgettable scene.

I don't want it at all.

I just want him to be safe.

It's a natural instinct

for someone who loves you.

Don't blame yourself.

Volunteers disguised

as the buyers who came for the birds

and got into the den

of the wildlife smuggling criminals.

Brave and clever as he is,

he cooperated with the police

and capture the criminals on sight.

It was a great success.

Yu, that's a heroic undertaking.

Magnificent.

Don't worry.

I will take your turn

and stand at the post of Artemisia annua cultivation.

Stop it.

What's wrong?

I need a break.

Hold on. Wait.

Where are you heading? I'll lead the nurse in.

Take a walk.

You just got wounded. Slow down.

First of all, it's only a bruise.

What's the difference? It is serious.

Second, I could still walk.

You must take it seriously.

The doctor said you had a severe head injury.

You might suffer from a cerebral concussion.

You need rest.

What are the symptoms of a concussion?

Let me think.

What did the doctor say?

Temporary coma, retrograde amnesia.

Syncope, nausea.

Please be serious.

There could be an incubation.

If your brain is damaged,

you'd never find yourself a date.

Just do as I say. You'd better go back.

Why would I?

Lie in the bed. It's good for your brain.

Stop making fun of me.

Did you make up with Yu?

Make up with her?

We were never an item. Stop it.

He saved your life!

It's only a matter of time.

My life was at risk.

I didn't get to think

about my relationship.

So...

You didn't talk to her, nor did she to you.

I wanted to.

But I didn't have the chance.

- I want to say... - I know, it hurts. Right?

Hang in there, we'll arrive at the hospital soon.

It's not about that.

Nurse, is there anything you could do

to ease his pain?

I'm not.

I get it.

You must be painful.

It's alright.

You can tell me about it.

You have no idea what it was like.

Even for a proud man like him,

he was too painful to say a word.

Yeah, he is badly wounded.

What did the doctor say?

Do we have Zhuang Yu's family members?

Doctor, how is he?

We don't have much equipment or medicine here.

We could only apply some emergency treatment.

I suggest that you take him

to a larger hospital for a thorough inspection.

Are you Zhuang Yu's wife?

We weren't married.

Not married yet.

It's not like that.

I get it.

That's what the young do.

I'll teach you

how to take care of his wounds.

She didn't deny it!

That seemed promising.

You ought to take the chance

and march forward.

Of course.

Good for you.

It's said that

being sick would make you smarter.

That is true, isn't it?

What did I just say?

Sago cycas is blooming. That's once in a lifetime.

Take a closer look at it.

It's the same plant.

But it's misunderstood by the viewer.

Mei.

You're awake.

You've been burning for days!

The doctor says

the large wound is infected.

You scared me a lot!

I thought you'd never wake up.

I feel...

great.

Are you thirsty?

Would you like some water?

Yes, please.

♫ Migrant birds fly into the forest ♫

♫ Passing through beams of light ♫

♫ The sun shines again after the rain ♫

You are badly wounded.

Are you sure about hiding it from your family?

I could tell Zhuang Hui if you don't want to.

Anyway,

Anyway, we'll meet your parents in the end.

You get me wrong!

Did I just touch your wound? Does it hurt?

It's okay.

I am serious.

That's not a scratch. What if...

Don't worry.

I will notify them when it's appropriate.

Take another sip.

♫ You suddenly break in ♫

♫ and also open up my heart ♫

♫ I'm sure you are ♫

♫ my future ♫

I must go.

Mei.

Are you uncomfortable?

I'll call the doctor.

About the botanical garden,

I'm sorry.

I'm afraid

this is the last chance

to tell you what I have in mind.

Don't talk like that.

That's too pessimistic.

I'm saying...

I get it. You're badly injured.

But don't overthink.

Just do as the doctor says, okay?

If you talk like that again,

I'd never visit you.

Like what?

Just make it stop.

Have faith.

You'll recover soon.

I won't forgive you

if you don't get well.

I'm afraid

you won't visit me again

once I'm recovered.

To be honest,

I like it if you don't forgive me

when I don't recover.

So much for this topic. How are you?

Hello?

Hello? Can you hear me?

I can. I'm fine.

Jin Xi went for you, didn't he?

I'm telling you.

Although he's full of cliches,

he's been obsessed with you.

He means it.

Hello?

Hello?

Are you talking? No signal here.

I must go, bye.

He means it.

It's been three days. Why doesn't he call?

Guess who I am.

Where have you been?

Tiantian, it's me.

What are you doing here, Meinan?

My mom asked me to send a package to your house.

Grandma said you're out.

She asked me to check on you.

Did I hurt you?

Not at all.

I love it when you hold my hand.

Stop joking.

Let's go.

Okay.

I'll do it.

Thank you.

- Don't bother with the etiquette. Let's go. - Sure.

What's wrong? Is there something on my face?

Nothing.

Why are you staring at me?

I was looking at your phone case.

What's so special about that?

Yours and President Jin's are a pair.

No way. It's not like that.

It's a popular one.

It's been a long time since you changed it.

I didn't have the time for it.

It's about time.

I'll buy you a new one.

Which one do you want? The cute ones or the artistic ones?

Let me see what's popular now.

Don't bother.

I will buy it myself if I want.

Please tell me when you make up your mind.

Could you...

buy me a new one?

Tiantian.

Are you angry?

I didn't mean to offend you.

You know me.

We grew up together.

No matter what you do, whom you choose,

I am supportive of it.

It's just that...

I never disclose my heart to you.

I could be one of the options.

I know,

the chance is rare.

But if I don't tell you now,

I might never get a chance to.

I'm not trying to push you.

I just want you to know that

if one day,

the one you choose

didn't come back,

you could turn back to me.

I will stay here for you.

Why are you doing that?

You'd be held up.

Not at all!

I'm only a farmer.

I don't know much about life.

But there is one thing I am sure of.

I planted this tree here.

Day after day,

I see it grows up

from a seed to a tree.

There is no means

to transplant that tree easily.

Are you alright, Meinan?

That's not your tree.

What were you murmuring

behind me?

Are you not feeling well today?

You should go home and take a rest.

No, I was talking to you.

You didn't hear a word?

My hearing is bad. You know it.

Your voice was too small. I couldn't hear it.

What did you say?

Forget about it.

I'm leaving.

What about him?

Feeling sad? Having a breakup?

[Yu Meiren's moments]

What's so intriguing?

Any new thoughts on your study?

Pretty close.

What do you mean?

The meeting this afternoon.

Time to go back to school.

Calm down. It's postponed to 4 o'clock.

The lab needs you.

Young people need more practice.

They'll ask for my help if I stay in the lab.

It's my fault.

I'm too popular.

Let's wait for meal time.

That's right.

Your left arm is tied up.

I have to feed you.

The hospital's management branch will take a noon break soon.

So?

You saw it.

That's Phoenix canariensis.

The label is wrong.

[Sago cycas]

This could be misleading.

Why are you out?

Why are you here?

What's that look, Professor Zhuang?

I traveled a long way here to check on you.

Lv said he wanted to check on you.

We met at the gate of the community.

You were never this active in my class.

Upon hearing about your accident,

- I'm here to express my... - joy?

It's not like that.

Professor Zhuang, I did this out of goodwill.

I'm in the hospital.

Why did you go to the community?

That's...

Yu, Lv, you're here together.

Are you...

Thank you, Yu.

I'll lend a hand.

What are you talking about?

But...

Thank you, Yu.

You can count on me.

I could use your help, come.

- But... - That way.

Many of the plants here are mislabeled.

It could mislead the kids.

They are our hope for the future.

The symptoms of a cerebral concussion

include temporary coma, retrograde amnesia,

syncope, and nausea.

Are you experiencing these symptoms?

Not all the information online is true.

What did the doctor say this morning?

He said that

I should be careful.

There could be an incubation.

Rest more, or my brain would be injured.

That is serious!

Well, how do you feel now?

I feel great upon seeing you.

That's not a concussion. You're just obsessed.

That's good in its own way.

Not everyone could live a life like this,

being waited on hand and foot.

Is that the life that a scientist pursues?

I am pursuing.

But I'm pursuing more than this.

I stewed the chicken soup for one hour.

Then steamed it with the pumpkin for another 30 minutes.

Did you make this?

I got that from you.

Is it good?

What my teacher's wife made

must be great!

Boss.

Hi, Mrs. Zhuang.

Hello.

I'll leave it here.

Boss, I could finally meet you.

Director Li said you had a bad fever.

And you were in a coma.

We were worried about you.

Upon hearing that you're awake,

we're here to check on you.

Boss.

Looks like

you're doing great.

Mrs. Zhuang takes care of him.

No wonder he looks great.

Don't you say?

By the way,

how did you get injured?

I was too careless.

The criminals were cunning.

I could have been more careful.

Anyway, the injury is worth it.

I've saved

many innocent wild birds.

I know. That's a noble moral principle!

- Your noble character is like a mountain. - I can't help but follow your behavior.

Tiantian.

Let me explain.

I'm listening.

I...

I left without telling you.

It's for a reason. I didn't mean it.

It's something urgent with my company.

- I had to show up in person. - Jin Xi.

Look at me.

Tell me where you have been.

Well...

It's confidential. I couldn't tell you.

What's so urgent

that you couldn't even make a call?

Did you go to Mars?

It's not like that.

The signal there was not good.

No signal.

So you couldn't call me.

But you did call Zhou, right?

Believe me, Tiantian.

I believed you before.

I thought

you'd be different this time.

It was my fault.

Tiantian, listen to me.

♫ The star is hiding away from the moon ♫

♫ We just let it go ♫

Just leave.

Don't come to me again.

Tiantian.

♫ and lean on your shoulder ♫

♫ How I cherish the moment we spent together ♫

♫ If I could ♫

♫ I want to put on a smile ♫

the flowers are blooming now.

It takes a long time for them to bloom.

But they wither in a short time.

So is love.

♫ and lean on your shoulder ♫

♫ How I cherish the moment we spent together ♫

♫ I'm tired of pretending ♫

♫ Turns out, it was the happiest moment ♫

Why are you silent all of a sudden?

I thought you were holding a commendation conference.

You've ruined our mood. I couldn't think of any commentary terms.

That's right.

Even if you could,

the terms are not qualified for me.

All I have for you are derogatory terms!

Qi, look at him.

Stop it.

Haven't you had quarrels enough with me?

You're no match.

Lv is a worthy opponent.

Director Li.

You're all present.

Alright, that's it.

You've met Zhuang.

You should go back.

Zhuang needs more rest.

Hurry up.

Goodbye, boss.

Meiren, don't you have a class this afternoon?

I'll send you back.

Right, I need to go back to school.

No, no.

I didn't mean to tell him.

I met him on the way here.

I didn't mean to tell him that.

I mean it.

I cough a lot recently.

I don't talk much at all.

I mean it.

- Shall we go? - No!

I'll go by myself.

Meiren, what happened to your throat?

You're heading back to school.

So are we.

Give us a lift.

It's a small favor.

Better no excuse for that.

Let's go.

Bye, boss. Bye, Director Li.

No, I'm not heading that way.

What are you thinking?

I want to be discharged.

How could you?

The doctor says you need rest.

Where are you going?

Just leave it there.

I can take care of it.

Look at you.

You're being overly responsible.

It's summer vacation now.

The school doesn't function with or without you.

Is that so?

Fine, it doesn't need me.

But it couldn't function well without you.

Talents like you

are backbones of the country.

It's my obligation to take care of you.

You're being overly responsible, too.

You're a meticulous man.

Now, you've got only one arm to use.

It is inconvenient.

I have to look after you.

How about me moving in?

That's so considerate of you.

Have you found a date?

It has nothing to do with that.

Just let it be. I'm not in a hurry.

I see!

I get it. Alright.

I've got a meeting this afternoon.

I must set off now.

I'm leaving.

Let it be?

[Yu's Wechat Moment: Gradually]

What would you have for dinner?

Shall I help you out?

Fine, I'm leaving.

This time, for real.

Jin.

Madam.

What's up? Something wrong with the food?

Not at all.

I've lost my appetite.

Here.

Try this syrup of plum, I made it.

- It's appetizing. - Thank you.

You must be busy recently.

You've lost weight.

We met one year ago,

when Meiren came back.

Right, you have a good memory.

And you're Meiren's...

We're colleagues.

Meiren must have caused you some trouble.

Not at all. If it wasn't for her,

my company would not function at all.

Many outsiders don't get it.

But I understand her.

For a doctor, this job isn't very...

Oh! I...

I said we were colleagues...

I mean classmates, classmates.

I found a charity company

for birds' protection.

Meiren worked for me as my consultant.

Don't get me wrong.

Don't choke yourself. Take your time.

Don't be nervous.

It's just chitchat.

Not at all. I'm not nervous.

Now that you're Meiren's friend,

I'll take you as my family. May I?

Tell me about it.

You're not here for Meiren this time, right?

Right.

I'm here for someone else.

But I failed.

Why?

I lied to her.

Do you know the saying?

A lie could be comforting for a short period.

But true love will face the truth bravely.

That's so deep.

Is it by Zweig?

Or Romain Rolland?

It's by Sherlock Feng in Qingshui Village.

Sherlock Feng?

Have more food.

Sure.

♫ Hard as I try, I just can't ignore it ♫

♫ The world of two ♫

Seriously?

Stay where you are.

I'll come for you.

You ought to stay put!

But if I ask him to stay put,

he'd think I look down upon him.

Hold on.

A sick person must be sensitive.

I can't hurt him.

[No need to guess]

Take a look.

See anything different

with the avocet in the clip?

Something's wrong with its wings.

Is it injured?

Take a closer look.

Oh!

So, its wings are...

That's right.

The wings are perfectly fine.

It pretended to be injured

to distract the fox.

These are its babies.

It used its injured wings to distract the fox

so as to protect the babies.

That's smart.

Is that so?

Take a closer look.

It is a bad act.

Smart as the fox is,

it doesn't see it through immediately.

That is because...

Because of what?

Because it's interested in the avocet.

Interested?

The fox is interested in it.

That's why it ignores all the flaws.

The same applies to criminals, right?

They are eager for profits.

That's why they fell for the trick.

What criminals?

According to the news,

Miss Yu went to the protected area

and helped the police destroy the poaching dens.

She and a volunteer disguised as wife and husband.

What? There is a role-play?

That's exciting.

That's my favorite part!

Is that the point?

The class is over. You're dismissed.

Miss Yu, tell us about the story

of rescuing the birds with the disguise.

- Please. - I want to hear it.

- Director Li. - Hello.

Zhuang Yu.

I told you to rest at home.

Why are you here in the morning?

The data file is so large

that I couldn't deal with it at home.

Shall I lend you...

Time for your class.

Shall we have lunch together?

Got an appointment.

The lab is that way.

We did rescue the birds.

But it was very dangerous.

It's a serious action.

That's to say,

if you go through similar situations,

be sure to call the police immediately.

Don't act abruptly.

Or you could end up like me,

getting my partner injured.

But I find it romantic.

Miss Yu, what happened

between you and your partner?

Nothing at all.

Who is it? Is he handsome?

Do we know him?

Well.

Professor Zhuang.

Stop guessing around.

Professor Zhuang's here!

Am I dreaming?

Professor Zhuang's here!

This is real.

That is so typical of him!

Even his taste in the beverage is excellent.

Goodbye.

The class's over. Why are they still here?

Crap.

Oh, no. Crap.

A man can handle anything.

Hold on.

No idea.

Maybe it's because we visited him?

Whatever. Come on. To the playground.

Let me take a look.

It's all yours.

It's salad! What's wrong with it?
