of the conservation effort

And there's heaps of them.

Hidden underneath
just four of these beauties,

our teams will find their next clue.

Ethical Elephant Care Sanctuary

and treat an elephant
to a clay bath and a shower.

BEAU: Elephants are
the national animal of Thailand,

and here, at Phuket Elephant Care,

they love a good mud scrub
to cool down.

They're big, they're beautiful,
they're gentle, but it gets hot.

And they love nothing more than this.

These majestic locals
deserve a good pamper

because, like this gorgeous girl,

some still show signs
of past mistreatment.

But these days,
they're living carefree.

In this challenge, teams must use
all the clay balls provided

to cover as much of
their elephant's body as possible,

including the face, trunk
and the sides.

When all the clay is used,
it's into the shower,

and time to reveal
their baby-smooth skin.

Or maybe not.

I think this one's my favourite.

You're not gonna believe
what his name is.

I'll give you one guess.
Rhymes with 'Beau'.

based on a cryptic clue.

The Bankokwatmai School
in Phuket

gives the island's kids
a modern education.

But when the lunch bell rings,

it's all about the more
traditional Thai subjects.

A stick, a rubber band,
a rock and some tin cans -

that is all you need, my friends,

and in Phuket,
you can have hours of fun

with a slingshot, just like this.

Actually, it's not

Team members must hit 10 small cans
from a whopping 20 metres away.

Once complete,
they can rejoin the race.

Phuket has a deep history
and culture waiting to be discovered.

In this Detour, teams must choose
between two challenges,

each with its own pros and cons.

It's either Fame or Fame.

Known for their elaborate costumes
and elegant dances,

kathoey cabaret shows celebrate
Thailand's transgender community.

In Fame, teams must dress
a cabaret star in the same costume

as the performer on stage.

At random moments,
the curtain will rise.

Teams will have just 10 seconds
to memorise the elements.

That includes the headdress,
jewellery,

fans and, of course, the wings.

Once the model is show-ready,
they'll receive their next clue.

The original name for Phuket
is Thalang,

and here in Old Town, Thalang Road,
well, it's a window into the past.

Tin mining was big
in the 16th century,

and this road was
the centre of trade.

People from China, India
and Portugal built homes

that fused
their cultural influences.

It turned the street into
an Instagram favourite.

In Frame, teams must find
three photos

in one of the street's
oldest grand houses.

Next, they'll memorise every detail,
then locate the real-life versions

on a road that has
over 200 different window frames.

Find the street number
for all three windows

and they'll receive their next clue.

Now, there's only two spots available
in each Detour,

so teams had better get in quick

if they want to secure
their first choice.
