HAMISH: Previously...

(CONTESTANTS CHEER)

I think I dated him in the '80s, actually.

..the challenge that brought us back to the classic era of arcades

saw five-time winners Gus and David

stumble for the very first time.

And it's not working.

But it also brought us some pretty cool builds.

BRICKMAN: Let's be honest - in an arcade,

this one would have a few 20-cent pieces on the top, waiting to play.

You did all sorts of crazy things with power functions.

It's absolutely incredible.

Owen and Scott rocked their way to the top.

Whoa! Oh!

..claiming Brickman's sacred 20 cents of immunity.

(CONTESTANTS LAUGH) Got it! Yeah!

Tonight...

Racers, are you ready? Yes!

..two massive challenges.

They're off.

I think it is! Debbie and Ryan! It's gonna be...

Ooh!

Building the fastest vehicle...

This is one challenge I want to win.

..to win the biggest advantage yet.

You're playing for an hour's head start.

Ooh! Whew!

We've even invited a very special guest.

And they're coming through the door. Who's that?

Oh. I see him.

It's not Hamish. It's not Hamish!

Then...

This is your chance to build your dream home.

We're gonna have a crazy slide, we're gonna have a shark tank.

What is your dream house, guys? Uh, I don't know.

I don't ever think about this kind of stuff.

This is not what I think about, ever.

Teams risk it all for their dream homes...

How many men are serving us?

And there's lots of men. They're running around. They look stressed.

I dare say our house probably won't be much bigger than that.

Is... is it, really?

This is probably the biggest risk

anyone's taken in the competition so far.

What is your happy place, guys? Not right now.

..in the toughest elimination yet.

I feel like they're gonna notice what's behind us.

(CONTESTANTS CHEER, CLAP)

Oh, man!

Nothing to see here.

Alrighty, guys. Welcome. Welcome back.

I see some eyes darting behind me.

Yep.

We'll get to it in a second. Firstly, how is everybody?

Are you fired up? Are you pumped for another big week of building?

Yep. Yes.

Scotty and Owen, how are you guys feeling, coming hot off a win?

Yeah, good. Yeah. Not bad, eh?

I felt like you came in, you've seen something...

Yeah.

..that's either to do with a racetrack or chess...

(LAUGHTER)

..and I feel like I saw your shoulders drop a little bit.

Yep. You saw correctly, man.

(LAUGHTER) Damn.

Commiserations. You don't have to build in the elimination.

I'm so sorry but you're safe.

Thanks for coming in. You may now go out.

Thanks, mate. Thanks, guys. See you at the end.

Bye! Good luck!

Alrighty, guys. Well, this is where Lego Masters gets properly exciting.

We've had platinum bricks, we've had returning contestants,

we've had a lot of twists and turns.

But I can promise you, now there are no second chances

and today, we take it to another level.

RYAN: We've got the grand final in our sights now.

We hadn't really thought about finals.

Hadn't thought that far ahead but now...

'Cause I mean, after you've been eliminated once, you go,

"Yeah, OK." Nothing to lose.

But now it's like, we're on a bit of a winning streak here.

So, there are two builds today.

Ooh!

The first build, you will be playing

for an advantage in the second build,

which is an elimination.

OK. OK.

And just 'cause we're feeling generous,

I'm gonna tell you what your advantage is today.

Oh!

You are playing for an hour's head start.

Ooh! Whew!

That's a doozy. That's a doozy.

An hour is probably worth more

than any of the advantages we've ever had on this show.

It literally will give you total and utter front-running...

Yep. ..in the elimination.

I won't say it guarantees you there,

because we've seen some hiccups along the journey,

where we've wasted an hour here or there,

but if you use it well,

it can place you right at the very front of the pack.

Wow. Wow.

How can you win that hour?

Behind us, you will see...

a race track.

Oh! Yes.

Here's how it's gonna work. We've got five teams.

You will each build a vehicle.

(LAUGHS)

The vehicles will race against each other

over a series of races.

If you're the fastest vehicle over the line in that final race,

you will win the 1-hour time bonus in the elimination.

So far, sounds like regular racing.

But today's not regular racing.

There is a twist.

Everyone in the world

can build Lego cars, Lego vehicles that go fast.

Every kid watching this show knows how to do that.

So we've made things a little trickier today,

to really test your engineering and your creativity.

In the Brick Pit, we have taken out

all the wheels...

(CONTESTANTS LAUGH)

..and all the tyres.

Which, I guess the tyres were pointless, since we took the wheels

but we really just want to rub it in.

You have to create a way for your vehicle to move

from one end to the other.

Now, traditionally, we have our three criteria -

aesthetics, storytelling and technical ability.

For the very first time ever,

we are throwing aesthetics out the window.

We've replaced it with wackiness.

(LAUGHTER)

And storytelling does not play.

We've replaced it with wackiness.

(LAUGHTER)

It is all about technical ability.

To complete this highly impractical vehicle...

(LAUGHTER)

..you have four hours.

Not long.

Four fast hours to win a whole juicy hour in the elimination.

Oh, wow.

That's juicy.

Are you ready to start your engines?

Alright. Your time starts now. Good luck!

Go for it. Go, go, go!

I noticed you're all using legs!

That's an interesting way to propel yourself.

Technic drawers, Technic drawers.

Everyone's going for the same drawer.

Alright. Beautiful.

I'll take them all.

Um, let's look at round pieces.

Alright.

It's a race with a twist, because we've taken the obvious parts.

The Lego-certified wheels, the Lego-certified tyres.

Six wide dishes.

It does seem like this is a race to just rebuild those things

that we've stolen from the Brick Pit.

Indeed.

I feel like we're Neanderthal man

actually re-inventing the wheel again.

Our initial approach is

that we're gonna individually build some prototype wheels

It's all about experimenting.

Have you seen the track? It's very slippery.

It's very slippery.

The first thing that we think about is friction.

You need something that is rubbery,

hitting the track

and we're just going to go into the Brick Pit

and look for anything that has rubber.

Teeth.

It looks like... I mean, it's a creature.

I've built a creature in a wheel.

(LAUGHS)

Gus and David. Hey, Brickman. How's it going?

Making a crazy, horned-type wheel. (LAUGHS) Pretty much.

But what other ones have we gone for?

Uh, some paddles.

Now, these ones are really interesting

because you've used... I'll say quite an uncommon Lego element.

Yeah, I don't even know what that is.

Yeah, so, these are the rubber tracks that belong on tank tracks.

Yeah.

The trick about this challenge is obviously it's about speed

and getting to the other end the fastest possible way.

It doesn't have to be comfortable! No.

It doesn't have to be a smooth ride.

I predict that it won't be.

I can't wait to see how you go. Good luck, guys.

Thanks, Brickman. Thanks, Brickman.

I'm happy with this, man. I think this is the best version.

We want our car to have four wheels with rubber clips for friction.

For the rest of the vehicle,

we're making sure we can attach and detach the gearbox,

so that way, we can make changes, modify the car

and make it go all the way to the end.

I'll do the honours.

Pretty quick, isn't it? Yeah.

Catch it.

Think, make, try...

refine.

I'm so excited, because this is exactly my wheelhouse.

I'm so passionate about STEM -

so, science, technology, engineering, maths

and that's exactly what this challenge is based around.

It needs to be as light as possible.

I think it'd be smart to go for three wheels rather than four,

'cause instantly we have less weight.

So, one wheel at the front, two wheel at the back,

like a trike style.

Low friction, so think smooth.

So many ideas whirling in my head. I'm so excited. (LAUGHS)

So, our plan overall is to make a really light vehicle

with the weight towards the back.

We know three wheels are probably quicker than four

and we want the wheels to be smooth.

We really want to win.

We want that hour, because time management is not our strong suit,

so this is right up our alley for just, like, thinking and...

She's in the zone with this one. I'm having the best time.

This is fun!

If this works, I'll be shocked, man.

If this works, it'll be the single greatest moment

in winning it on Lego Masters.

Of our Lego Masters career.

Every good science experiment starts with trial and error

and so we're gonna start with tank treads.

Tanks are really reliable

and they have a four-wheel drive

and we know that run's straight,

so if we can get that going and make it as quick as we can,

hopefully we have a machine that goes fast enough

but straight enough at the same time.

Ooh.

Should be quick. (LAUGHS)

It's not gonna look pretty.

Doesn't need to. Doesn't need to look pretty.

I know the track is very smooth. We need friction.

Think of dragster - big rubber tyres.

That's what we want.

The first idea I get for a tyre

is to actually use a bunch of these 8-by-8 dishes stacked

and then stretching tubing around it,

with two smaller wheels at the front.

And we're focusing on building some sort of bumper frame around it

to keep it going straight.

This is actually... this is test-worthy.

It's like the helium balloon challenge.

This is the next big technical challenge

and it's all about testing, testing, testing.

Alright. Let's test.

I'd like to see how Ryan's goes.

Do you want to watch Gabby and Ryan's one?

Oh, my god. That's a... That's a crazy tyre design.

I'm feeling pretty good. I'm feeling pretty good about this.

You ready to catch it?

Alright. Got it.

It's alright. We can climb the sides.

OK.

So, our first effort's a bit of a disaster.

But it did move.

The... the tread's come off a bit.

You think? You think the tread's come off a bit?!

(LAUGHS) OK.

Guys, you are halfway. Two hours down, two to go.

One delicious hour of advantage

available to the winner

in the elimination.

Who will it be?

Ladies and gentlemen, start your engines.

BRICKMAN: Haven't seen a lot of testing, everybody.

Testing, testing, testing!

It's the key to get your vehicle as fast as it possibly can be.

If you have any symptoms of slowness, get tested.

What has the government been saying for a year now?

If we suspect any slow spots, we're locking them down.

'Cause if you had a wheel here... Ooh!

Yeah.

We're very strong in aesthetics, we're really strong in storytelling.

Not so strong in technical.

The mums are not in their natural environment.

Today.

They're feeling a little bit out of sorts but...

They're gonna give it their best.

They're gonna give it a red-hot go. And they're gonna give it their all.

We're halfway through. We've tried so many things.

OK.

And we finally think we've got something here.

I found some roundy holey bits for wheels and...

We've attached gears to the motor

and the axles are both spinning.

We can see when we test it.

Cool. OK. Alright. Let's test it.

Let's go and see. (LAUGHS)

We really want to win the advantage

because it's our first elimination

that we don't have the platinum brick with us.

Gee, I want to see Gus's one.

An hour is massive.

That can be the difference between winning and going home.

So this is a big deal for us, this one. It is.

OK. Ready?

How does it even do that?

(IMITATES RACE CAR ENGINE)

(IMITATES ENGINE REVVING)

OK. Let's go and see.

The first part of the build today is to build a vehicle

that will go from one end of the track to the other in a race

and the car that comes last, they get knocked out of the competition.

But just to make it really, really easy,

they've taken all the wheels out of the Brick Pit.

Wheel-less. So we have to make them.

Oh, that's amazing!

But how does it even do that?

So, our car's doing donuts.

If we were at a carnival on dodge-ems,

we'd totally be winning this advantage.

And it would be such a fun ride.

But it is not going in a straight line at all.

Gee, it takes off, though, doesn't it?

It does take off. It's fast.

It's quick but confused.

We've mastered speed but not direction.

These are all bad slogans for car ads, by the way.

Quick and confused. "It's quick but it's confused."

"We've mastered speed but not direction."

The fact that it's moving at all, it's a freaking miracle.

Also a bad slogan for a car ad!

(ALL LAUGH)

OK. One wheel.

See what you want to do about...

ANTHONY: Looking around the room,

everyone has these big, giant wheels they're making,

which is adding so much weight to their vehicles

and they're super-bumpy...

Are you OK there, buddy? Nah!

JESS: What I'm looking for in the wheels is something light and smooth

because if we have too much friction, it'll slow it down.

That's how.

Yes, that's what we want.

I think of radar dishes. It's a totally unique design.

Shall we test this? Yep.

There's some testing going on.

This is the best! Ready? Go. Go.

Three, two, one!

Yeah. OK. Get it!

Yeah! Awesome car. Nice work.

Wow. That was fast.

I missed it. Turned away and then it...

Did that just move incredibly fast down the track?

No. Maybe. Yes!

Nice work.

So, definitely the gears work, the wheels are great.

We've gotta refine the size and shape

to make this thing go even faster.

Wheelie, wheelie, wheelie good.

Alrighty, guys. You have got one hour.

(SIREN BLARES)

One hour until hopefully, your vehicle wins you an hour.

This is one challenge I want to win.

(GASPS)

Whichever way you cut it,

we've got one of the greatest races in Lego history coming up.

Let's talk about the teams in particular.

Michael and Harrison, the only team to go, like, tank tracks.

Uh-huh. Good tactic?

She's pretty slow.

Clearly not fast enough. You don't see tanks travelling...

They're not a well-known speed machine.

Come here, boy! Come here, boy!

Happy with that?

Jess and Anthony.

They've come across quite a simplistic wheel design.

JESS: Three, two, one, go!

Really quite minimal contact onto the road.

And light.

And super-light. Stop!

Gabby and Ryan - I feel like those guys

are in no trouble, engineering-wise,

but what's maybe a pitfall for them?

God, this is really...

They're really trying some crazy things,

so they're intertwining some flexible tube

to try and get grip on these wheels,

when perhaps something simpler may do.

Alright. Let's try this.

With our beautiful wheels,

what you've actually managed to achieve...

They're very Mad Max. ..how smooth.

Oh, dude!

I don't know.

It needs to go faster.

I'll be at the other end.

And I've just seen Jess and Anthony set their car down

with just plain dishes.

Oh! Ooh!

That's pretty sweet.

So just using simple Lego plastic dishes...

Works even better than our tyres we spent three hours weaving.

Should we just try that on for size?

Do you think... Sure.

So I throw a very quick set of dishes directly onto our axles.

Aww, Gabs, I'm so sorry!

I don't know why we didn't experiment with that first.

Would have saved a lot of time!

Watch this.

Ooh, damn, that is fast.

Alright. Very nice.

JESS: Hmm, dishes. What a great idea.

(ALL LAUGH)

And now other people are gonna start using these wheels.

That's part of the innovation process,

is using other people's good ideas.

It just motivates us, instantly, to hit the next gear.

What can we do to get that extra edge

to get over that finish line?

What if we lengthen it out?

HAMISH: Alright, guys. 10 minutes!

10 minutes to go and then we race!

Let's see how this goes.

So much history in this track. Really?

It used to be shelves.

Really? (LAUGHS)

Ooh!

We've been testing these little rubber clips

that you can attach to the wheels.

It was quick but it was very bumpy, very inefficient.

I found these big discs.

I'm concerned they're gonna be too slippery but we'll see how we go.

What about just these as the back wheels?

Yeah, that's fine.

Our tank is reliable but a bit slow.

At this point, all the teams have some sort of circular Lego piece

for their wheels.

Maybe we just swap and try that as well.

Weirdly enough, there's no better design for a tyre than a circle.

Yes.

Alright. Let's try and get this up now.

Alright.

After almost four hours, you only have 5 minutes left,

which is why a total rebuild...

Quick, quick, quick, quick!

..from Harrison and Michael is a big call.

BRICKMAN: You boys are cutting it super-fine.

Yep. We're aware.

(LAUGHS) Oh, it's hit the bumper.

We're going forward. She gets there right to the end, old Bessie.

Yeah.

You go, girl! Go, girl.

Guys, you have got 1 minute!

Go, go, go!

OK.

If you make it through the first heat,

you'll get another 5 minutes before the second race

to do further tinkering.

What can we do? I hope that's alright.

We need to take some weight out.

Seven, six, five,

four, three, two,

one!

BRICKMAN: Hands up! That is it, guys!

Alright! We're ready to race!

Whoo!

This is gonna be fun.

Alrighty, guys.

Four hours of building

and I reckon everyone has come up with an amazing solution

for the no-wheels problem.

This is such an exciting race.

We wanted to... we wanted to boost the excitement.

We wanted to go maximum excitement...

and we have a special guest to help...

(CONTESTANTS LAUGH, GROAN)

..to help commentate.

We never know who it's gonna be. Mostly it's Hamish.

Someone who we think is the ultimate,

the ultimate high-energy candidate

for this commentary.

And they're coming through the door.

(SIREN BLARES)

Oh. Wait a second.

It is someone different.

Who's that?

It's not Hamish. It's not Hamish!

Oh! Oh!

(SIREN BLARES)

Oh!

(CONTESTANTS CHEER, APPLAUD)

Trent! Trent!

Oh, my god! We're fan-girling.

Mostly fan-girling over Trent. I'm slightly fan-girly.

She's majorly fan-girly.

Oh! I'm not gonna lie.

Welcome back, mate. Trent. How are you, sir?

Oh, it's so good to be back.

Guys, it's Trent from season 2!

FLEUR: I love Trent's builds so much.

He's so good at character-building.

He's so passionate about Lego.

Because this is a very high-energy race, we thought,

who is the best guy we know at describing things passionately?

(LAUGHTER) And it's Trent!

Wow. That's a great title to have!

Trent, thank you for coming back. No worries. Great to be here.

Um, OK. Here's the way it's gonna work.

There will be a series of races.

Every time we race, the slowest vehicle will be taken out.

Between rounds, if you've made it over the line

and you're not the slowest car,

you'll get 5 minutes - you get a 5-minute pit-stop

to repair your car, tweak it.

We'll go from five vehicles to four vehicles to three,

which will be the final.

Whoever wins in that race

will win that 1-hour time bonus

for the next build, which is the elimination.

I wish you guys the best of luck.

Drivers, could you go down to the start line, please,

and assume the position.

Come on, Fleur.

I'm so nervous!

My heart's going.

It's gonna be the hardest 5 seconds of our lives.

Trent, are you ready to get down and commentate?

I'm ready but just give me a minute.

Head down to the track. Let me know when you're down there.

OK. (CONTESTANTS LAUGH)

Hame, I'm here trackside and I can tell you what,

the atmosphere is absolutely electric.

Fantastic, mate. I can hear you. What can you see?

Describe it to everyone.

Look, it's... They're all ready to go.

The cars are all in line.

There's some absolute abominations of vehicles down there

but it doesn't matter, because it's all about speed

and I think this is gonna be a cracker of a race.

Oh, it sounds fantastic, mate.

Alright. Our drivers - you guys are happy?

Yep. Alright.

So, you know the sequence is gonna be orange, orange

and as soon as you see green, you're away.

Racers, are you ready?

Yes! OK.

And they're off. It's Jess and Anthony...

But then it is... Gabby and Ryan! It's Gabby and Ryan!

Ooh! (CONTESTANTS GROAN, LAUGH)

Yes!

Whoo-hoo! Whoo!

You did it! Gabby and Ryan won!

(CHEERING AND APPLAUSE)

Ah, such a close finish.

JESS: After race one, our biggest competition is Ryan and Gabby.

They beat us by about this much over the line,

so we need to refine our design and just see if we can close that gap.

But unfortunately, Sarah and Fleur,

yours was the slowest, so you're gonna be knocked out.

I'm so shocked.

Sarah and Fleur. Oh, disappointing!

First race, last place.

Alright.

The remaining four teams, you've got 5 minutes to repair it

and we'll see you for round 2.

Go for it. Here we go. Good luck, guys.

I think we need to... Is it better to streamline it?

I think we give it a crack. OK.

Thank you, thank you.

You've got a minute 40.

Everyone's looking pretty solid except...

I don't want to name names but I guess I have to. David and Gus.

Where's the wheels, Dave? Here, here, here.

One. Is that all?

Alright. Round 2 starts in five, four, three, two, one!

Racers to the track! Racers to the track!

Whoa, what a scene have we got here for the second heat,

as everyone vies for one bonus hour in the elimination.

Huge stakes. Huge tension.

Racers, on your marks.

TRENT: And they're off! It's Anthony and Jess!

Anthony and Jess have got this by a mile!

They've got it! They've won!

Trent!

Race two, everyone else's cars are left in the dust

and we're flying ahead and we're going, "What happened to Ryan?"

What happened?

I can't believe I hit the button

and I hit the red button at the same time,

so my car actually stopped.

We still came second.

Go! Go! Come on! You can do it!

David! Go, go!

(LAUGHTER)

Unfortunately, David and Gus have been knocked out.

In that 5 minutes to change the gearbox, completely screwed it up.

Really disappointing.

Really wish I hadn't done it.

Absolutely edge-of-your-seat stuff.

We've got 5 minutes before the finale.

Go, guys, go! Rebuild! Rebuild!

RYAN: We're pretty good. Just everything's just a bit loose.

You can see it's come off just a teeny bit.

You've scraped your way into the final.

If you guys Bradbury this, I'll be so pumped.

Anything could happen!

Alright. Here we go.

Five, four, three,

two, one!

Guys, time for the final!

Get your cars to the start line!

ANTHONY: Ryan, make sure you press the right button.

You are driving for a massive,

dare I say the juiciest advantage we have ever had on this show.

A 1-hour build advantage in the elimination.

Oh! I can't look! This is what it comes down to.

We really want to win this advantage and we know we can!

We know we're so close!

Good luck, man. Good luck.

Yes. Good luck to you, Anthony.

Racers, ready?

Is this the right button?

Press the right button! Press the right button!

If I don't accidentally hit stop,

we should be right.

HAMISH: On your marks!

Oh, they're all good. Ryan's got the outside lead but no!

Jess and Anthony! Jess and Anthony have got it!

Jess and Anthony!

In a come-from-behind win, they've taken it out!

Jess and Anthony!

We won! (SQUEALS, LAUGHS)

We did it! We got a win! Yes!

We got a win! Yes!

That was unbelievable! Oh, my god, this race was amazing!

It was unbelievable! I can't believe it!

(BOTH YELL) This is what we do it for!

(LAUGHS)

Guys, unbelievable.

(APPLAUSE)

Jess and Anthony, that basically goes Cathy Freeman, Steven Bradbury

and then you guys,

for sporting excitement in Australia.

(CHEERING AND APPLAUSE) Absolutely smoking it.

Amazing job and biggest advantage we've ever had on the show.

You guys get an hour extra for the elimination build.

So lucky. Gotta use it well.

Would you please thank the man that has given so much to Lego racing?

He's been there since the inception. He's just retiring.

Would you please thank Trent?

(CHEERING AND APPLAUSE)

So good. This advantage is gonna be massive for us.

This is the start of something big. Yeah. Yes. And we're so ready!

You know, we've been saying, you know, we're here, we're here

but now it's like, we are - we have a win under our belt

and instantly, that can change everything.

So, today's build.

Well, I think it's fair to say

we all dream about the perfect home.

Everybody's got the dream home.

Oh!

But there are a lot of limitations on the dream home -

budget, location, council restrictions.

The great news is, in Lego,

there are none of those things,

especially when you have 3 million bricks in the Brick Pit.

Today's build is quite simply...

a dream home.

Whoo-hoo!

Whoa, yeah!

So, our previous challenge had no aesthetics,

nor storytelling.

It was all about your technical skills.

This build is incredibly different.

It's all about aesthetics,

it's all about storytelling

and of course, technical ability,

because I'm sure your dream home

is not some plain, old house on a flat block of land.

Alright. Jess and Anthony, you guys have 12 hours.

Everybody else, you have 11.

You guys have gotta spend that one hour sitting at your benches,

sitting quietly and watching Jess and Anthony build.

Alright.

I don't think there's anything more to say

but your time starts now - good luck!

Anthony, really making fast use of that time.

And you guys may casually stroll.

I guess this is just the one hour of, you know,

council planning.

(LAUGHS)

Permits.

Beach house? Yeah. I love that.

Yep.

I feel like, for this challenge, I've just gone deep inside

what I would love, as a kid, in a house.

OK. I like a beach.

I like glitter, I like roller-coasters.

This is just the overall rule. Just go... I love...

I think we just need, like, a house with all of the things.

We want a whole disco room,

with, like, karaoke and music

and a dance floor.

Giant shark tank, pool room,

media area, golfing range off the top,

and a bay-view window.

I've always wanted a house with a massive bay-view window.

If I was a billionaire, that's what I'd have.

So we're gonna be able to take off the whole level

and you look down into it?

Yes. And then you can actually, like, look and take level by level.

This is gonna be playability like a doll house,

because what each level is gonna be able to do is remove itself

so you can actually see all the details.

Yeah. I finally get to use the glitter bricks!

I know you do! (LAUGHS)

(CHUCKLES)

Are we nearly there, Fleur?

Fleur, are we there? Are we there yet, Fleur?

Just have a little nap.

I've got so many ideas but I have to sit on 'em for an hour!

Do you feel like there's a lot of eyes on you at the moment?

Do you feel like a few people

are looking around rather jealously at you,

at what you're both doing?

JESS: Yes. Yep. Dream house.

Dream house. Yes.

Sell it to me.

Basically, if you picture, as a kid,

everything you wanted in a dream house,

that's what we want to put in.

We're gonna have a crazy slide, we're gonna have a shark tank,

'cause I've always wanted a shark tank.

We want every kid to look at this and be like,

"Oh! I want to live in that house!"

I'm hearing a lot about the fun stuff -

not so much about the house itself.

Right.

What... what period is it? Oh! Um...

What does the house look like?

We don't know what the actual house looks like.

That's a huge problem because we've used almost all of our extra hour.

Everybody else heard that, right? Mm-hm. Yeah. Yep.

Take on board their first hour.

It could potentially even save you time.

You're welcome, everybody!

(LAUGHTER) Thanks, Jess.

Thank you.

We know what we want to go inside

but you can't put stuff in a house when you don't have a house.

Hmm. We keep this and we keep...

Do we need this rocky terrain?

I'm just thinking it gave us height. That's the thing I was thinking.

Do we need height?

Brickman comes over and he goes,

"Alright, so, I'm hearing all these awesome stories inside the house.

"Sounds really fun. What's the rest of the house look like?"

So, I think, um, it's cool to have these details inside.

We need to think about... So a lot of details. Tick.

Yep. Now let's figure out what this house looks like.

We had that extra hour advantage

and now this is a spanner in the works.

What if we... 'Cause it's fun inside.

What if we built a shell that's white around?

Like a white... And that fits the coastal theme better.

Yeah, yeah - beautiful, classic mansion, millionaire,

you know, front bay-view, he's got way more money than everyone else.

Our billionaire mansion is on a beautiful island.

It's got the giant bay-view window on the front.

It's got that sleek, clean, modern aesthetic.

It's white and crisp with a fun, party vibe inside.

It's all good. We're all good.

Are you building that quickly still? Yes, I am.

OK.

We had this hour advantage, which is really good for us.

But now it's almost over.

Ah, limbering up. Limbering up.

It kind of just puts us on a level playing field.

Quick hands, quick hands.

Uh, 10 seconds, gang.

Um, one sec.

Oh, my god! Go, go! Yes! Yes!

Sorry. Sort of just missed it by a second.

I really hope it doesn't come down to the final second.

Yep. So, first one is a wild-west-themed house. OK.

Like, we could do a hedge maze that the children would get lost in,

so that we don't see them while we do our art!

What is your dream house, Gus? Uh, I don't know.

I don't ever think about this kind of stuff.

This is not what I think about, ever.

I'm serious. It's just... it's so far off for me.

Thinking like this, thinking dream house,

thinking elaborately - it's not something I do very often.

I spend most of my days, you know,

trying to find the facts and the right answers

and not having to worry about my imagination as much,

so imagining weird buildings

is not something I'm super-comfortable with.

The dream house, for me,

is having people you love, people you care for, in a space with you.

But I've had an idea, some sort of concept.

It's a big mountaintop, big cliffy thing, it's weird.

I'm not sure.

'Cause the cliff gives it a cool height, I think.

Then the house is on top of that.

My dream house - big house.

Alright? Yep.

Our dream home is gonna be a modular house

at the edge of a cliff.

It's gonna have a lot of light, it's gonna have a pool in the roof,

solar panels.

Dave's gonna build the house, I'm gonna build the mountainside.

You good, man? You're happy with the idea? You're on board?

I've just got heaps of bricks to lay.

For me, this is not a dream build.

This isn't something I'm familiar with.

It's not something I'm good at or I enjoy.

But we're not done yet.

This is an elimination build.

We want to build bigger, better, more amazing things,

so we just don't want to be eliminated today.

We're getting quick at this Lego building.

We are, mate, and that's the key to this one.

Like, 11 hours is not that long.

So, for us, our dream home is about what we love,

which is music and art.

We're going to build a Beverly Hills-style mansion

with a manicured garden, a xylophone for the roof,

big works of art.

With menfolk serving us.

Let's pretend, um, I am a prospective buyer. Yep.

And you guys are the real estate agents. Sure.

What's the pitch for the house? Think Beverly Hills.

Think Hollywood mansion.

The biggest house on the best block of land.

Welcome, Hamish, to the fusion of art and music

in the Hollywood Hills.

Have you ever done one of those real estate ads?

Never but maybe I'm gonna go for a career at it.

I can't wait for the housewarming. Cool. You're invited too.

I've gotta go. I'm gonna put some bubbles on ice. Thanks, guys.

Right.

Well...

You know the criticism is gonna be

we're spending a lot of time building terrain.

That's OK. We need a beautiful location for our house.

Hello, guys. Hi, Hamish.

Let's play a game where I'm the council

and you've gotta pitch to me... what's the plan?

Great.

I think you'll like this one, Hamish.

We're building a family dream home

with, sort of, separate dream areas for the kids

and for the parents.

So you've got dream separation.

Got dream separation. Exactly.

We've gone with a pod home.

Each area has its own purpose.

The kids are gonna have a climbing wall,

a ball pit, their own private beach.

The parents have got a massage table,

a sensory deprivation room...

The idea is to occupy the kids with so much fun,

that the parents get a bit of peace and quiet.

So this is the ultimate parent fantasy...

Yes. Yes. ..separate-wing home.

I feel like this is coming from a real personal place.

Yeah. (LAUGHS)

I think we're actually gonna do a Gabby Minifig, asleep.

Just me, just sleeping. Wow.

If we could offer you the prize of getting to shrink down and move in,

would that be worth more than the trophy?

Absolutely. Yeah, it would!

We know that we want to put this on a cliff-face.

It has the benefit of being a beautiful location

but also provides height.

Make it more striking

but with height comes a lot of work.

It's time-consuming and it does make you a little anxious

that you're not gonna get to the fun stuff towards the end.

Absolutely.

Guys, you have got 8 hours and 2 seconds

to finish your dream homes.

Woah. Ooh!

Wow. That's quick, eh?

One team is one-third of the way through their build.

The others, of course, simply three-elevenths.

(LAUGHTER)

I can see why he won the maths prize at school.

I'm building...

Found it? Yeah.

Which way up do you want the art to go?

Whatever way you want it to go.

Bit subjective.

You right?

What's that face, Ryan? You look concerned.

FLEUR: Is your house a canyon?

That's our house, there.

Oh, wow.

We are gonna take a massive risk today.

We are gonna have our dream house about this big,

which is microscale in Lego.

Just a simple roof? Yeah.

We could make it... yeah, even, like, just a bit higher.

For us, the dream house isn't what's inside the house -

it's actually what's outside the house.

So the dream house is... it is in the middle of nowhere.

On this big landscape, we really want that sense of isolation

in a Midwestern desert with a canyon.

Yee-haw!

(LAUGHS)

I daresay our house probably won't be much bigger than that

in the scenery.

Is it really?

You're talking about going, like, going like a tiny house?

Yeah, our dream home is a secluded property

that you can escape to

and you can't sell that if the house takes up the whole space.

So, you're essentially building like an amazing canyon with a tiny home.

That's what it's about. Big farm.

Big farm, will have all the stuff that you can do when you're there,

like classic property stuff.

Great gamble.

(LAUGHS)

Great roll the dice. Alright, good luck.

Thanks very much.

This is probably the biggest risk anyone's taken

in the competition so far.

Yeah, no one's gone for a scale smaller than the mini fig yet.

No, and to do it in an elimination

when the challenge is to build a dream home

is probably ill-advised but we're going to run with it.

If we pull this off, this will be sick.

If we don't, we'll go home.

It's as simple as that.

Michael and Harrison.

This is a big play in a dream home build

to build a home this big.

"They got a bit cocky and decided to be..."

I would say the word 'arrogant' describes what we're building.

It's so different to everybody else's.

It really stands out.

But because you're putting down such little Lego,

your bricks need to be unbelievable.

This tiny little house that they're going to do,

it almost needs to be a technique that I've never seen before.

Ooh. It needs to be that good.

HAMISH: Sarah and Fleur going the classic LA mansion.

Kind of, for fans,

where 'Fresh Prince of Belair' lived.

Really?

And stayed with his uncle and auntie.

What I really love about this

is they have picked things which they're passionate about...

How many men are serving us in there? There's lots of men.

They're running around. They look stressed.

..which is a great win

because instantly, you are invested in the Lego build.

We need to find some hot gardeners to trim our hedges.

(LAUGHS) Oh, Sarah.

To you give you the stark contrast and the opposite to that,

at the moment, Gus is not invested in their build of all.

The concept of their house up on a giant hill - great.

However, the house, it's out of proportion.

The type of architecture doesn't gel with the location.

It needs to look like it kind of makes some sense.

It's too boxy. I don't know.

What don't you like about it?

I've been working on the mountainside

and Dave's been building the house, and we put the two together...

I don't know, man. I don't know.

I'm devastated at the moment.

DAVID: It's not a dream house.

It's just a big white box sitting on top of a mountain.

GUS: To not have anything to show halfway through this build,

it's just...

It's horrifying.

Coming off the back of the arcade build

will be had a mechanism that didn't work

and a build that essentially wasn't finished,

and then the car build that we bombed out in the second race,

it gets in your head.

You know, like, our confidence is a little bit low now.

I'll be honest with you.

You guys are such great Lego builders.

How many wins in a row? Three in a row?

Three in a row.

Four out of five?

Something like that, yeah.

My god. Unheard of on Lego Masters.

And so I've got in my mind an expectation.

Yep.

I know that there's something missing in this build with you guys.

Yeah. Something's got to change.

I think if you keep going down this path,

looking at what's around, you may come unstuck.

I don't want that.

Good luck. Thank you.

Thank you.

What is your happy place, Gus?

Not right now.

Imagine your happy place and we're going to build it now.

At the moment, I've got this grey thing in front of my eyes

that I can't see where our build's going.

It's really worrying me.

I don't know what we're doing,

I don't know where we're going with this build.

I don't know what else to do. I'm really struggling.

I'm really, really struggling.

When you hit a wall, you hit it hard.

Let's think about (INDISTINCT).

Yeah, I'll go for a walk.

So, the first thing...

OK.

And we just hit that wall with all the strength that we had.

Geez, I hope Gus is OK.

DAVID: Today's challenge is building your dream home.

We have nothing at this stage.

It's just a big white box sitting on top of a mountain.

That's nothing.

GUS: This build, I'm finding it personally quite tricky.

I'm feeling really overwhelmed.

I'm emotionally drained.

My dream house for me, it's not a place of things,

it's a place of people.

It's having my family with me, my children, my wife.

It doesn't matter where it is. It doesn't matter what it is.

It's who's there.

I need some space, I need to just walk away,

reset my brain a little bit.

DAVID: We're too late in the build to start from scratch.

Gus did an amazing job with the mountain

but it could be anything.

I start thinking that maybe it could be a tree.

You good, man? Yeah, I'm back, man.

You good? Alright. Look at this.

So, imagine waking up in the jungle, waking up in the Amazon.

So, this is going to be one big tree in the middle of the forest.

Yep. In the middle of the jungle.

A nice rustic house

and it's just a place where you can just sit down,

have a coffee, rest, enjoy,

and we want to be with the people we love,

so Gus is going to be there, I'm going to be there,

his family, my family.

So, we want to create these spaces

where people are just enjoying the peace and quiet.

Love it. Yeah. Thank you.

You OK, man? Yeah.

Alright, good.

This is a good idea.

This is an idea that we can build something out of.

Let's start tree-ing. Let's start tree-ing.

I'm definitely feeling this build now.

I can visualise it, I can see it.

I know what we're doing, we both know what we're doing.

It's a much better feeling.

A little bit of confidence is growing in me now.

(LEGO PIECES RATTLING)

I jingle.

If I could just get a one foot advantage in the brick pit.

Amazing.

Love that, Harry.

Step back for me.

Come with me on an adventure.

That's starting to look like a landscape.

We're taking a pretty big risk and a gamble today.

In a challenge called 'Dream House',

we're going to make our dream house

a little tiny aspect of a huge empty landscape.

Like, 110%, the technique has got to be in the house.

Yes. (LAUGHS)

The problem is because it's going to be so small,

it actually has to be a very technical house.

And getting technical ability in a house that is this big

is actually really challenging,

so this going to have to be some nice parts usage in there.

Are those hockey sticks? Yep.

That's dope as, man.

My guy.

We're trying to think about what we would normally have

and how we would build it

and then replace it with something else.

So, for example, we want to have smoke coming out of the chimney

and, you know, you can use ice cream cones as smoke,

you could use a croissant as smoke.

We're going to use bread pins

as the columns for our house instead.

Mike's used, for growing crops, he's actually used mini fig arms,

so pulling the arms of mini figs which is actually really cool,

so we're going to have to really pull out everything

to make this perfect or we're done.

Get it together.

Hey, Sar. Hey, Hamish.

How are you going? God, that's beautiful.

I hadn't seen the entranceway artwork.

Yep, Yep. I created that. It's one of my originals.

Very cool. Yeah, absolutely.

Not much call for Lego art in the market at the moment.

But there could be down the track.

We feel like we're tracking pretty well

with our Beverly Hills art and music mansion.

Sarah's doing amazing work in the garden.

Those bushes are looking sensational.

You're the freaking queen of bush, mate.

The house is looking like a house

but the biggest challenge is making sure that we're telling stories.

How do we know it's a dream house?

What about it is our dream?

And that's in telling the stories through mini figs.

Kicking back, he's doing our hair,

he's going to clear our plates, he's bringing us pie.

While we just relax, baby.

Love a man that brings a bit of hot apple pie.

Yeah.

Alrighty. Four hours to go.

Not a cause of panic yet but...

SARAH: Slightly.

Just sort of dialling it up to mild concern.

I think a couple of teams should panic.

Alright, Brickman thinks a few teams should panic.

You reckon?

It's four hours to go in the build

and we're not even sure if we're going to have the time

to do all the things that are in our head.

So many more things to do.

It would've been nice to put the top pod even higher but no.

There's no time.

I feel like we've designed a sort of 30-hour build.

This is going to be the kids' side of the house.

We've already got a kids' playroom kind of ready down there

where we can have the kids' beach area

and then a parent P parental retreat with a little infinity pool

and a massage tables

and soundproof, snug little bedroom

with someone just blissed out asleep in the middle of it,

and there's also like a little movie cinema room down here

for the parents as well.

But it's a sea of dark tan at this point.

It's just this mountain scape.

It's a lump. And a lump.

We've been too ambitious.

Like every home renovator.

(LAUGHTER)

We've overshot the budget.

Oh, jeez. We've got a lot to do.

I know, I know, I know, I know.

So stressed that we're not going to finish.

Aquarium done.

Our billionaire wants a giant shark tank

even though that's illegal or whatever. He doesn't care.

It's a giant flake,

so of course he's going to have a giant aquarium

like right behind this baby window.

Basically, everything that you wouldn't be allowed to do

in real life, we're putting into this thing. (LAUGHS)

Does that fit straight on there now? It does.

Slide that on. Just slides in there.

Perfect.

This is the wow-factor of our build.

The fact that we can remove these levels

and show them, here are all the details.

We've got this layer which is like kind of just the fun P

I don't want to say arcade

but it's kind of got all the fun games,

and then on the top, we kind of have like a party going on,

so there's like disco,

there's people like jamming with their musical instruments,

like there's karaoke,

like there's like this little dance floor.

It allows us to show off all the cool stuff we put inside.

So her. It's so me.

It's sparkly rainbow unicorns.

That's exactly who I am and I love it.

Biggest challenge at this point is making sure we finish.

Alrighty, guys. If I could have your attention for a second,

I know we're all expecting

one of my classic three-hour time calls in four seconds

but I'm actually going to do something a little different.

I'm going to stop the clock.

What?

Oh, no, no, no.

Oh, yes, yes, yes, yes, yes.

Oh, no! No.

Guys, we all remember the classic mid-season twist, don't we?

No! Oh, god.

I'm not emotionally prepared for this.

But we haven't had an MBT, a mid-build twist yet.

Who wants one?

No. No, no.

No, no. Yes, yes, yes.

I'm detecting a lot of excitement in the room.

Alright. You've twisted my arm. You get a twist.

Something bad is about to happen to your dream home.

There is and always was a twist coming down the pipe.

(QUIETLY) Yay!

We should've seen it coming.

We so should've seen it coming. It's too simple an idea.

It was far too... Yeah. Dream home.

Too straightforward.

It's not really a Lego masters challenge, is it?

As well as finishing your dream home,

you need to turn that dream home into a nightmare.

(LAUGHS)

OK.

So, we've got a very specific dream

which we've all been building towards in our homes.

We now need to take that specific dream

and have the nightmare version of what that dream is.

Is "specific to your dream" the key phrase there?

Absolutely, it is.

You still need to finish your home.

You can't not finish the home.

You just now need to incorporate the nightmare.

Good fun. Alright.

I will now restart the clock

using the internationally accepted television convention

of dropping one of my arms.

Time restarts.

OK. OK, alright.

Nightmare. Yeah, nightmare.

Twisty, twisty, twisteroo.

The artists are...

Our nightmare.

It has to be really specific to our actual home,

so what is the opposite of art and music in a mansion?

OK. The tax department

have just turned up to confiscate all the art.

Cool, I like it. Tax department auditing artists

'cause artists are always doing it under the table.

I might've done the odd gig under the table.

I mean, the dream is peace and quiet in the jungle.

Two options, I think.

OK.

I would hazard that this is not bad news for you guys.

It's not the worst news we've had all build.

It's the jungle. Anything can happen in the jungle.

And you know what lives in the jungle?

Animals.

GUS: Our nightmare twist build is simple.

There's a giant snake that's crawling up the side of the tree,

coming to ruin the fun.

(HISSING)

We're going to make it a bright colour.

Something that really pops in the middle of our build.

It kind of feels like handling a real dead snake.

This is going to really allow us to amplify the story

and bring it to the next level.

It's been a long road for us to get this build to where it is,

and now, I'm really starting to enjoy this build.

Think, think, think.

It's hard to keep the pattern right.

Water's super tricky in Lego, isn't it?

Yep.

The specific nightmare that suits our billionaire's beach mansion

is a tsunami.

Because if there's one thing that would suck more than anything

it would be getting that amazing house

and then watching it all be literally washed away

in a few seconds.

How big are we talking?

So, we're talking like this. Taller than the house?

We weren't going taller than our house.

Alright, when we say massive tsunami...

When we say massive tsunami, we say small wave attacking.

Well, that's not a tsunami.

Brickman wants to see this wave getting to the top level

of our house which is very high.

So, the wave needs to then be...

We've got the clear vision at least

but it's about execution now

because the bigger the wave gets, the harder it's going to be

to support and for it to maintain that structure.

I think we're in a bit of trouble.

We're OK, we're OK, we're OK.

Can't think like that, just got to smash it.

I feel a little dirty ruining our scape, eh?

That's why it's our nightmare.

We wanted tranquility, you know,

simple life, so we're going to ruin that simple life

by throwing up a big cityscape

with construction sites going up around it.

(SINGING) โ™ช I came in like a wrecking ball...

The problem we're facing is we still need to build the city

to our micro scale that the house is based on.

They're the same size. Thank god.

That would've been awkward.

Micro scale is really hard

because if a building is a single brick too high,

it throws off the scale completely.

Bloody hell.

This is hard work.

OK.

Lee warning! Coming in! Coming in!

Not running into anyone? Good.

RYAN: I've never felt this stressed ever in my life.

I have had children, I have had reports due.

GABBY: Ryan.

Ryan. Not a bus.

An ice cream van.

It's got them jacked up on sugar. Done. Alright.

So, the real dreamlike part of this house

was going to be the peace and quiet

and the sleep that the parents were getting,

so what better way to ruin that than small children hyped on sugar?

Absolutely.

Kids. Kids, kids, kids, kids.

Our local primary school, there's an ice cream van

that parks across from the primary school just at 3:30 every day.

The parents hate it.

They hate it.

So, that's the plan.

Yeah, cheeky, isn't it? (LAUGHS) I know.

It's devious.

You get an ice cream.

You doing an Oprah?

Yep.

Love it.

Alright, for our dream home,

now, with added nightmare scenario, you have got...

..one hour.

(SIREN)

One hour.

There you go.

Not what I needed to hear.

OK. Jess, come on. Come on.

You want to go like that?

Kids!

Alright. I've got a genuine laugh

when I saw the parents tied up on the bed.

Beautiful.

We look desperate, don't we? Yeah, we do.

We're sweating.

So, we need to build a van that's got 'IRS' on it.

We always talk about Lego bricks doing the talking.

Let's just write the letters. (LAUGHS)

It makes it plenty obvious.

They're mean, those people.

Yep.

Oh, my god. When did that come together?

Dave's finishing mini fig stories. I'm finishing the snake.

I still think we can...

Yeah, we can get a tongue out for sure.

Yeah, I need to do a tongue.

We're so close with this build now.

This looks wicked.

Yeah, man. It's looking lovely and peaceful.

How are you doing there? You good?

Man, I'm good. I'm really good.

Compared to where we were before.

Halfway through this build, I thought we had nothing.

To get done what we've gotten done is amazing.

I'm really proud of us.

My anaconda. Ugh. My anaconda. Ugh.

Ten minutes.

Ten minutes remaining to bring your dream homes

with a splash of nightmare together.

FLEUR: You're shaking.

Quick, quick.

BRICKMAN: Focus on the important things with only ten minutes to go.

Whoa! Just lost a branch.

I've just got to connect this thing on.

What do you need? I've got a hand, I've got a hand.

Actually, I need you to hold P can you hold that?

So, under ten minutes to go,

we're getting this wave on right now.

We've just got to figure out how to place this on here.

Once it's on, that's a big problem solved.

Tell me what you need. Pieces under here.

Just like blue plates, blue plates.

I don't think it's going to hold its own weight.

Currently, my hand holding it down.

Where? Here.

Oh, yeah. Yep, yep, yep. It's not angled.

We're going this big.

It's too heavy to support itself.

We've got, like, no time at all. So, it just needs to happen.

This wave has to be right

because otherwise, we're not hitting the brief.

We can't have an unfinished build.

I'm feeling like this wave is our nightmare, literally.

(TENSE SOUNDTRACK)

Take a deep breath. We've got this.

All we need is a jump plate.

Go get it, go get it, go get it. Run, run, run, run, run.

For this wave to support itself,

it's going to need to lean or touch some of the house.

OK. I've got that structure there to help support it.

How's it going? Good.

Are we over-engineering it?

Guys, you've got three minutes.

We have three minutes, OK? I know, I know.

HAMISH: Three minutes.

Three minutes.

OK.

Don't touch.

Yeah, don't touch that snake.

I'm trying to stick as best we can to our micro scale

but it's actually really difficult.

Bulldozer's too big. Yep.

I think we're just going to have to make some sacrifices

to get this whole thing done. Yeah.

It's either a big bulldozer or a small cow.

This is your final minute.

They're here! They're here! Quick! They're here!

Come back!

DAVID: Gus! GUS: Coming!

HAMISH: Gus, what were you doing in there?

Five seconds.

GABBY: Ryan, the lights aren't on. Turn the lights on.

Turn the lights on. Yep, yep, yep, yep.

Got loose saxophone over there too.

Remember to breathe.

No, breathe when we're finished.

Alright, you have got ten... Is it going OK?

..nine, eight...

Top here, top here.

..seven, six, five...

No, no.

..four, three, two, one,

hands off! Hands off!

Nice work.

Well done, man.

This was a tough one.

We did it. We did it, Sarah.

Good job.

Good job. We did well. We did well.

The benefit of ours is that we have removable floors

that no one else has.

Teams, you had 11 or 12 hours to make your dream homes

but then had a bit of a nightmare twist added to them.

They look awesome.

Gabby and Ryan, let's have a look at you guys.

(APPLAUSE)

I know there's kids watching this

that will be like, "I don't get it."

But can I just say, as parents, it's a good nightmare.

GABBY: So, the real dreamlike part of this house

was going to be the retreat and the peace and quiet

and the sleep that the parents were getting,

so what better way to ruin that

than small children with loud instruments and lots of sugar?

There's going to be Lego on the brick pit floor,

pee in the pool,

and musical instruments in the soundproofed bedroom.

What we've done now is just recreate reality.

Yeah. (LAUGHTER)

The dream is over. We've woken up.

You guys have not gone down the path of a character or a monster

or something big

and you've needed to find ways to capture our attention.

Bright, colourful, pod-type buildings

are exactly the way to do that in the mini figure world,

and then you've doubled that up,

you've backed yourself up by using mini figs really well.

Things like the child peeing in the pool.

Hilarious. Poor Grandma getting tied up.

Lots of things like that are what make mini figures so much fun.

And I do love the fact that on top of all the parents being tied up,

just every single kid that's misbehaving has an ice cream.

Totally. (LAUGHS)

Like, there can be no doubt

who the accomplice to the nightmare is and it's the ice cream truck.

BRICKMAN: This is the thing.

It's a very fine balance

between playing with Lego and sculpting something like this.

I think this is your best work on Lego Masters.

Well done.

Great job, guys. Well done. Thank you.

(APPLAUSE)

Gus and Dave.

(APPLAUSE)

(SIGHS)

What a fun build.

Wasn't it? (LAUGHS)

Remember that P do you remember that bit?

There was a little bit of a hiccup in the middle.

Yeah, I remember something happening but yeah.

(WONDROUS MUSIC)

DAVID: Our dream house is a house on top of a tree

in the middle of the Amazon rainforest,

and we want to be with the people we love.

His family, my family, just enjoying the peace and quiet.

GUS: Our nightmare twist build is simple.

There's a giant snake that's crawling up the side of the tree,

coming to ruin the fun.

This has easily been our hardest build so far in this competition.

It was mentally tough, physically tough, it was a long build.

DAVID: We made it through and it looks really good.

HAMISH: Brickman, your thoughts.

The snake.

It totally and absolutely was the right call to make.

What it did do is brought colour to your Lego model.

Something that was completely and utterly lacking.

We'll now go for the brilliant.

This one particular part of your build,

single-handedly the greatest piece of NPU - nice part usage -

we have ever seen on Lego Masters and that's a big call.

Do you know which one I'm talking about?

The snake's tongue. The snake's tongue? Yeah.

It is a sausage and cherries stuck together.

If I could give a trophy for NPU, you just won it.

It is amazing.

(APPLAUSE) Absolutely. I'm serious.

I can't believe...

That's the fun of this show.

After all that, 11 hours, the difficulties,

it comes down to sausage and cherries.

I'm really proud of us, I'm really proud of Dave.

He really held us together.

We're really happy.

Michael and Harrison.

(APPLAUSE)

Guys, the dice roll.

The dice roll of the episode.

In a challenge where the brief was build your dream home,

you said, "OK, we will dream tiny."

Our dream house is based around this idea of space and quiet.

Being out in the desert with those big landscapes around you,

we sort of feel like you're just by yourself.

Our dream house challenge has turned into a nightmare...

..and we are going to do the exact opposite of that

and ruin our big beautiful landscape with a massive city development

under construction with lots of noise.

We're going at micro scale.

It's probably the biggest risk anyone's taken

in the competition so far.

We're really proud of it, really proud of the risk we took

and we're really proud of the build

but we know with micro scale, it needs to be perfect.

If we've nailed the scale, I think we can be top two

but if we haven't, we definitely could be going home.

So, is there a bit of you constantly going,

"Have we done the right thing?"

100% of us is doing that right now. It's still doing that right now.

(LAUGHTER)

What you did is to be absolutely commended.

The house, I love.

(EXHALES)

I love the house a lot.

Hockey sticks for the roof,

roller skates for the little stonework on the chimney,

ice creams for the smoke.

The house itself is awesome.

The twist however, I don't think did you any favours whatsoever.

All of those buildings, all of the vehicles,

all of the things that are happening now in your world

had to be perfect just like what the house is,

and that's where you've hit some trouble.

Let's take a look at our bulldozer.

Now, by itself, it's a perfectly fine bulldozer.

It if I may, I'll just pick the cow off.

If we look at the scale difference,

they're not even close to the same scale.

The stripes down the middle of the road,

they're half the size of a house.

I love the concept, I love the idea

and I think the twist, you were on the right track.

I think it comes down to execution.

Well done, guys.

(APPLAUSE)

We knew doing the risk from the start

that it was either going to be amazing

or we were going to potentially go home

and it's looking like the latter. Yeah.

Sarah and Fleur.

(APPLAUSE)

(ELECTRONIC DRUM CASCADE)

FLEUR: We have built a Beverly Hills mansion with an art and music theme.

SARAH: What is the opposite of art and music?

Tax department.

We haven't paid any taxes,

so we are going to be stormed by the IRS,

they're going to repossess everything in our house,

take our dream away.

You could tell this build that you had some passion

and some energy for the build.

The story just flowed.

I particularly like the artworks.

I love the xylophone on the roof,

so from a technical perspective, you're definitely ticking that box.

Thank you.

I was a little worried when the twist came

but you found something funny, found something hilarious.

It's ironic, it's funny.

I like it that they are dismantling the xylophone one bar at a time.

It's true. I'll take E minor

if you take F sharp, no problem.

I guess there's a huge resale. (LAUGHTER)

There is of course room for improvement.

Your truck in particular.

Yeah, yeah.

How many cars and trucks have the two of you built?

Oh, look... One?

That one?

(LAUGHTER)

Overall, I'm super impressed with your build today. Well done.

Thank you.

(APPLAUSE)

Jess and Anthony.

(APPLAUSE)

It's a busy house.

There's a lot of people.

It's a party house. It's a party house.

I mean, for Gabby and Ryan, that's a nightmare.

(LAUGHTER)

But I guess that just shows the different stages of life...

(LAUGHTER) ..everybody is at.

(WONDROUS MUSIC)

Our billionaire mansion is on a beautiful island.

His place is huge.

It's got the giant bay-view window on the front.

Glass all around the side

and golfing range to hit off into the distance.

The specific nightmare that suits our billionaire's beach mansion

is a tsunami.

(SCREAMS)

Getting that amazing house

and then watching it all be literally washed away

in a few seconds.

The wave doesn't look great

but we're the only team with removable levels.

You can really get in and see the hard work

we've put into the details and creating this story inside.

We're hoping that our wow-factor, our removable levels,

are going to be the thing that get us over the line.

Alright. Well, well done.

We can tell you guys had a lot of fun with this.

Brickman, how do you rate Anthony and Jess's dream into nightmare?

Now, you've pretty much bet the farm

on everything that's inside the Lego model, right?

So, you've made it that we can take these layers off?

Yes. Yep.

So, before we do that, I'd ask you a question.

The wave.

So, the wave's actually resting on the top of the building isn't it?

Yes.

How do we take those off

without the whole wave falling apart?

Yeah. So, we can either hold it or it is movable.

Like, we think it will hold to move to have a look, to play?

Just to be crystal clear on this, the wave has got to hold itself.

You can't stand there

and hold up part of the Lego model while we judge.

To be crystal clear.

That wave will come off.

It will fall apart.

It's hanging on by a thread.

If you take one of those off, it's absolutely not going to work.

And all of those details on the inside,

they're awesome, they are totally and absolutely cool

and they're hilarious, they're fun.

But we can't see it.

Our design, our wow-factor, our feature,

all of that time we spent on details

and the inside and getting that story is trapped by the wave.

I think today, you're potentially looking at elimination.

Thanks, Brickman.

Alright. Well, here we are at the end

of two pretty spectacular challenges.

Scotty and Owen, welcome back.

Thanks, man.

Great to have you guys here.

Brickman, first up, which two teams are safe?

Who are top two teams?

Who's safe and ultimately who took out today's build?

So, the first team that I would like to call forward today is...

..Ryan and Gabby.

(APPLAUSE AND CHEERING)

Well done!

So, the second team I would like to call forward today is...

..David and Gus.

(APPLAUSE)

Two great Lego models.

The team with the bragging rights today is...

..Ryan and Gabby.

(APPLAUSE AND CHEERING)

Well done, guys.

Fun, colour, you're in the zone, and it's an amazing build.

And totally deserved today. Well done.

Awesome, guys. Thank you.

Yay. We're no longer the bridesmaids.

Yay, we're the brides!

(LAUGHTER)

HAMISH: Alrighty.

That brings us to the business end of today.

Brickman, who are our bottom two teams,

one of whom will be leaving us today?

The first team that I'd like to call forward is...

..Anthony and Jess.

So, the second team I'd like to call forward...

..Harrison and Michael.

Michael and Harrison,

I really love that you took a big gamble

on working in a totally different scale to the others.

But because of that gamble,

it absolutely backed you into a corner

and you had to nail that scale perfectly,

and you got a little bit muddled once the twist hit.

So, Anthony and Jess, no question, your house has amazing appeal.

I would definitely love to live there.

But today, getting the wave to work, to be independent of the building,

it robbed you of the ability to show off all of that cool stuff

that you had inside.

You invested so much inside

that was basically trapped by the wave.

So, unfortunately, today,

that's why you'll be leaving us on Lego Masters.

You know, there's a difference between us standing here now

compared to when we stood here last time.

The fact that we won the challenge before this,

you know, can go home knowing

I did everything I wanted to do on this show

and I can go today a lot happier with a bigger smile on my face.

But you should both be extremely proud. Well done, guys.

Really well done. You guys should be super proud.

(APPLAUSE)

And tonight, we have the replica of the car that you built

waiting outside to zoom you home in record time.

Go and hop in that car.

Great job, guys.

Thank you so much. Thank you, guys.

(APPLAUSE)

By for real! (LAUGHS)

I'm just so thankful for the time that we've had.

I'm so proud of how well we've done, how far we've come.

And now, we can go away knowing at least we got a win

and it was for the technical build.

Yeah.

Hey, buddy. Good job.

It's alright. We did good.

Fantastic work, guys. Amazing builds by everyone today.

A huge effort.

Obviously, not you, Scotty and Owen, you lazy, lazy, lazy boys.

But a well earned day off.

Time to shake it out because the next build...

(EXHALES) ..everybody starts back in again.

Great job, everyone. Well done.

(APPLAUSE)

Release everybody!

FLEUR: What is it?

HAMISH: Tomorrow night...

(LAUGHTER)

(APPLAUSE)

..Avengers assemble...

(LASER SOUND)

..for the greatest immunity battle...

DAVID: Alright, dude. Quinjet is done.

GUS: Sick.

..in the Lego Masters universe.

Roar! (LAUGHS)

SCOTT: It's not just an immunity. It's the golden ticket immunity.

This takes you through to the finals week.

(MONSTROUS SCREAM)

(LAUGHS)

HAMISH: Oh, yeah. I'm personally pretty excited.

I think Hamish is robbing mini figures again.
