that is either winter, summer, spring or autumn.

is to create your build

in the mood and the feel and the colour of that season.

Today feels a bit different,

because we really don't have anything to lose.

but they haven't seen how well I build trains.

I got back into Lego building true trains. I joined a train club.

I absolutely love building trains.

It is easily the thing that I get into the most in Lego.

I've been building trains for a little while.

I do think it's gonna be red. Yeah, I agree.

So, today we're building a winter train heist.

It's a minifig build where some criminals

have set off an avalanche, stopping a steam train

so that they can rob the mail coach.

I reckon...

No, I think almost the whole... Oh, god. OK.

I want... You need the train on a mountain pass.

We're playing to our strengths. Ryan is gonna build the train,

and I'm gonna direct him whilst bricking a large mountain. (LAUGHS)

(SIGHS) It feels like I've come full circle.

I'm making a mountain again. (CHUCKLES)

God knows how long it's gonna take...

Oh, yeah. ..building a giant mountain,

but I do like building natural kind of environments.

But we're gonna have to run,

I can't really think of another instance

where you're not ready to go. Like, I guess, if you're at a party

and someone kicks you out, and then they thought, "No, actually,

"we loved you guys. Come back. Come back to the party."

This is a rare second shot.

What are we getting for summer?

Everyone's come to the beach.

They're gonna get some ice-cream.

The ice-cream shop is currently being stolen

by a giant living ice-cream.

It's absurd, but that's what we do best.

We've had sentient cheese...

Yep. ..which was living cheese.

And now we have a living ice-cream.

Yeah, so maybe our theme is just we do living food items.

Yeah, maybe. It is a niche market.

There's something just about bringing the unrealistic to life.

Just taking something that isn't a real thing and making it sentient,

giving it life, giving it a purpose.

It's up to our own imaginations,

which is, honestly, where we work best.

So I think we need to really push that element of our build.

What colour do you wanna make the cone?

It's gonna be orange.

Orange? That's what I'm thinking.

I was like, "Run away!" (LAUGHS)

I'm like a little magpie.

Autumn is super tricky for us as Queenslanders, 'cause Queensland's

basically summer, summer, summer, slightly colder.

Yeah. Yeah. Summer, summer, summer.

What captures autumn?

People roasting marshmallows. Yeah, yeah, yeah.

The whole camp... This is... So it's like camping.

What's our overall story? Or is it just... camping?

So, the idea for our build today is camping in autumn.

We're gonna have tents. We're gonna have a little caravan.

We're gonna have minifigs roasting some marshmallows by a fire.

Lots of trees in a forest.

How long do you think to do that caravan?

Well, I've already got the foundation done.

That's your family one, right? Yeah, it is.

Just a little nod to my nana and pop,

saying, "Thank you for starting my journey to come on this show

"so long ago." Oh, I love it.

My nana and pop are a big reason for why I'm actually here.

It was them who went, "Why don't you build our caravan?"

And that was actually the build which got me through

to 'Lego Masters',

and they've supported me the whole way through.

And so I'm making a little,

small-scale version of their caravan,

which is just to say, you know, "Without you guys,

"this journey probably wouldn't be here."

Oh, this is the first time we've ever had

a dedication in the form of a caravan,

hidden in a build.

A grandparent caravan dedication... No way. No way.

Well, if you haven't laid a Lego brick yet...

What do you think about the whole 'festival plus big fruit tree' idea?

It's awesome being given a second chance on the show.

Having gone through the experience of being eliminated,

it makes us even hungrier to take this chance we've been given.

The butterfly emerging out of the chrys...

Chrysalis, yeah. Chrysalis.

Crystal-lis.

But we're getting caught up with a lot of stumbling blocks

in terms of coming up with ideas.

A massive fruit tree type of thing.

We are behind all the other teams,

caught in analysis paralysis.

Another thing is bees.

It's like a massive beehive or something.

A bird, eagle...

(TENSE MUSIC)

Definitely falling back into some old patterns here.

I think that's too complicated. Yeah.

I'm lost already.

I started to panic a little bit.

We don't have a clear story.

We really wanna create something epic and grand,

but we literally have nothing.

I wonder if we should scrap it totally and go with our tree idea.

The clock's ticking down, and we're just lost in our own little world

of trying to debate which was the better idea for our spring build.

I'm not sure if it fits as a minifig-scale thing.

There's a lot of pressure for getting back into this competition,

so it's... I think it's starting to get to us.

I thought I'd come along and offer a bit of Brickman workshopping...

Yeah. ..because you have the opportunity,

that the other three teams don't... Yeah.

..to show off colour. Yeah.

Colour, yeah. You can do pinks, blues, purples -

you can do all these crazy colours. Yes. Yep.

So, how do we do that?

I did have a thought of, "What if we...?"

Like, having a big rainbow in the back.

Yeah. Yeah. A rainbow's a fantastic idea.

Yeah, I think this gives me new life.

One of my favourite things to do in spring

is visit the international flower festival,

so that's where my mind goes, "Let's build a flower festival."

To try and make it look epic,

we're thinking of putting a massive rainbow behind the flower festival -

so you've got all these people doing festival things,

and then you have the rainbow at the back that gets the eye's attention.

I'm excited to build a big rainbow.

I've been dying to, like, do plants and things, this whole time.

(CHUCKLES)

We wanna prove that we have technical skills,

because our last build, that we got eliminated on,

we didn't really demonstrate any technical skills.

And this rainbow will help demonstrate that.

So stoked to have the chance to come back,

but it ain't gonna be easy to get back into the competition,

so I definitely wanna put every single last minute

of blood, sweat and tears into making a damn good build.

Yes. Oops. Sorry.

It almost sounds predictable, doesn't it?

This build is definitely a great opportunity to, I guess,

show off that... that little... trick up the sleeve that we have.

Keep it simple - just the bare minimums of what's required

to make it look like a steam engine. Yep.

I still had a bit of fun, though.

I get very into my trains, and I might go too far.

Yeah, I can already feel that I'm getting stuck in these details,

So, we've got a big mountain, beautiful train,

but we can't tell the story until we've got the basics down,

so this is the grunt work.

What do you like? What do you dislike about their build?

Well, first and foremost,

it is about meeting the brief of the challenge.

We're at minifigure scale,

and I feel like using autumn as a picnic scene, if you like...

Mm-hm. ..I think that's a great idea.

And you can have all those orange and sort of dark red trees,

showing off all those colours, which really do make it autumn.

So that's... that's pretty cool, for me.

It comes down to execution of that.

As I'm building, I'm just stressing a ton about what's a big feature.

That's all I'm thinking about.

Gabby and Ry - our winter, steam-train, bullion theft.

I've lost all track of time.

I've just been doing the same thing forever.

Gabby's been beavering away in this build.

That technique - that's called honeycombing, yeah?

I'm doing other stuff. I don't have time to watch what you're saying.

Really? But, yeah, it's called honeycombing,

and it is a cheap way, cheap in terms of bricks and time...

Well, let's talk about that. It's a really important point.

Mentally, in my head, I have been noticing

that the ice-cream cone looks a bit like a carrot.

Correct, and that's a problem.

The trick is, "Are they aware enough to,

"kind of, figure out that it is very carrot-y?"

It's pretty cool.

I love our story. I love our storytelling.

We have the gigantic ice-cream monster,

and, someone selling ice-cream on the beach - he's not a fan of that.

(CHUCKLES) He's gonna come through,

and he's gonna try to get rid of it.

Stereotypical summer.

So, the monster's gonna be, like, here. Kind of, mid...

So, if we wanna do the lifeguard tower...

If you build that up a little bit,

I'm concentrating on doing the ice-cream cone

and the ice-cream itself.

We've got a solid idea straight away. We're both on the same page.

It's a camping scene.

Anthony's got almost all of the caravan finished...

kind of, mountain terrain at the back.

Dude, this is good. Look at that.

I'm keeping on building. We're laying bricks.

But I'm trying to think of anything else we can do for a "wow".

Thinking, "What's a wow? What's a wow? What's a wow?"

What's the key story, other than camping?

What happens when you go camping? You get attacked by a giant bear.

How do you feel about building a giant grizzly bear?

Oh, you mean, like, big? I mean big.

Big, big. OK. Like, not giant, but we need a...

we need a bear that's bigger than this.

Yeah, yeah, like... Like...

But I've never built one before, so this is gonna be interesting.

You know, the way bears get annoyed at everything.

This needs to be the centrepiece - the thing which catches the eye -

and so I need to make sure the ears pop,

make sure that snout's working,

the mouth is big and open, with the canine teeth.

Just remembering all I can about a bear and how they look.

Is this Mr Bear?

Yeah, it is. Hi, bear.

Hmm. Got a name for him?

I mean, Jess, you're saying it like he's very, very, cute,

but, at the moment, he's just a giant grey rectangle.

Yeah. (CHUCKLES) I mean, it almost looks like

a cactus, actually. Like...

It looks like a lot of stuff at the moment.

We could have a lot of fun guessing what it looks like.

Spaceship, rocket... Yeah.

I mean, if you got enough people to spitball,

we could turn it into something else.

We are building a spring flower festival

with a giant rainbow. But building a rainbow is harder

than I initially thought.

Hey, Dawei, I just don't know how to get it to go tall

and angular.

I'm not quite sure how to build that curve or join it together.

I'm at a loss, a bit.

Maybe talk for a little bit.

Yeah.

We really wanna create something epic and grand,

but we're flailing a little bit on doing that.

(SIGHS)

It's much harder building a rainbow than I expected.

'Cause you're trying to do the curve?

Yeah. Bit of a nightmare.

We've really dug ourselves into a hole,

and this may be too deep a hole for us to extricate ourselves...

on something new.

What we'll probably have is a massive tree in the middle,

holding the nest at the top -

you know, like, three hatchlings and a big, kind of, mum bird.

We're gonna make the spring phoenix, creating a build with new life.

A baby bird with a mama bird.

Half our time has essentially lapsed,

and we're starting from scratch.

So it would be a 'Lego Masters' miracle for us to recover from this,

but you know what? I refuse to accept defeat.

I refuse to accept an incomplete build.

We had two ways to go with the ice-cream scoops.

We could either brick-build them or SNOT-build them.

We chose brick-building, because we like the aesthetics more -

to make them, sort of, flattened, melted spheres.

I think it's too small, compared to the others.

compared to the other scoops. Nah. No, it's fine.

That's the kind of look we're gonna go for.

Good. I've decided to do a 'birds and the bees' tree.

Lego bricks has a million pieces to choose from

but conveying emotion in a creature is very difficult,

because you only have a small space to work with,

where you need to sell that emotion.

You OK? You OK? You OK? It's all good, yeah. Caught it.

The main thing I'd love, to add that little extra pop,

would be the head tilt.

It would really make a difference between doing this and doing this,

because, you know, that's what they do.

He looks cute!

My favourite thing about it is the illusion of how...

This head is actually normal -

it's just that I've twisted that and put the ears on randomly.

Dude, you've done such a good job.

This bear needs to look aggressive and, like, destructive.

I know bears' eyes are black. Yes.

But the problem with that is

they don't show any emotion.

You can really tinker with those

and I think you probably need to lean a little bit cartoony,

because you can get that emotion.

It may just be one thing but it's a crucial thing in our build.

If I don't get these eyes right, then he's not looking at anything.

The expression's gone. He's not eye-catching.

so I could pump up the contestants.

When you're playing 'The Four Seasons' on violin,

you've gotta capture the essence of that particular season.

You start with 'Spring'.

Anyway, I think I got it.

that's a big enough challenge in itself

but to actually create all these little Minifig stories...

then we want some little hold-up scenes on the train

and then as much snow as I can get on there before time is up.

This is the fun bit!

With character builds, you want them to look over-the-top.

And you want enough like arms and hands

so that they get the idea of arms and hands across

but not so realistic that they look like they're real hands.

I've gotta say,

no-one took this lightly.

These are incredible builds.

Alright. Our winter heist - Gabby and Ryan.

GABBY: Building today has made me realise

that I don't want to stop doing this -

I want back in, more than ever.

And now we're, like, really... Fingers crossed, yeah. Yep.

Because you were out so recently and now you're back,

did you feel like you were, like, match-fit to come back and go again?

Yeah, still had the calluses.

Yeah.

The train is coming out of this tunnel on a trestle bridge.

The avalanche, created by criminals...

has come down and blocked the path.

There's little hold-up scenes on the train.

If you look carefully in through the windows,

you'll see other criminal activity.

There's the getaway vehicle.

They've set off more charges, blowing up the top of the mountain.

(EXPLOSION)

So there's more avalanche on its way.

One thing that I have learnt

is that mountains have an incredible effect in a Lego build

but my gosh, they're a time-sucker.

They really are. They really are.

They really eat a lot of time

and the risk is, if you don't get it done,

it looks terrible.

Brickman, what's your thoughts on Winter?

So, if we were to look at the sheer volume

of Lego bricks that you've laid down,

for a long time, Gabby - for the best part of seven hours -

you were slogging.

Yeah. You were really laying down bricks.

We've got an amazing train. It looks great.

You've got some real technical tricks

but that train is nothing without the mountain that sits behind it.

They're so coherent together.

Without the scene-setting, you've got nothing!

And also, we have a bit of a bonus behind the mountain -

a prospector, a miner, hidden away inside the model.

To see that is absolutely fantastic.

There is a couple of missed opportunities -

I would love to have seen the robbers on top of the train

or repelling down out of the train.

A little bit more action to entice us into what's happening.

Yep. Yeah.

It looks terrific. Hopefully it is enough for sudden life.

I love it. I loved it.

Atlanta spent a long time getting that cone together

but it looks fantastic.

I mean, initially there was a slight carrot situation going on...

There was a carrot situation but we rectified that, for sure, yep.

Oh, yeah, I mean...

And as the layperson,

that definitely looks more like an ice-cream...

Yeah. Yep. ..than the orange cone.

It was a curve-ball, throwing the tongue at us at 4 minutes to go

BRICKMAN: Well, it's one of those things.

I think a giant ice-cream - it's hilarious.

A unique concept and idea - that's what Lego's about

and so seeing that - awesome, big tick from me.

It's big, it's colourful and it looks great.

However, I would have loved to have seen more technical skill.

For example, like, those ice-cream - the balls?

They scream out to be made as SNOT balls.

In saying that, the story is a definite tick

and for sure, you are absolutely encompassing what summer is.

DAWEI: We've absolutely done everything that we possibly could

but I'm a little bit concerned,

having that massive time disadvantage

created by our own planning woes.

We basically had a 4-hour build in a 10-hour time session, really.

You're a very exciting player, Dawei, because...

..like, every build, the last 10 minutes is insane.

Our build is a rainbow phoenix

that is creating its magic, causing all the flowers to bloom...

and then also raising its own baby chick.

I've got a little birdwatching hut

where people are looking out to see the giant birds.

That ties in to our big rainbow phoenix.

It's very idyllic and then... boom.

Ferociously proud mum. Yeah.

You don't get a lot of mum-brags in nature, as the baby hatches,

but you should.

Brickman, what are your Lego thoughts? You know what?

There is a problem, though. Let's talk about it.

The first four hours. Mmm.

What happened?

I don't know what we were doing. We, were, um...

We had the failed rainbow, I guess.

But we didn't want to seem like quitters,

so we incorporated the rainbow into our bird.

Into the bird!

So, the problem with the phoenix is,

how do we get it back to that Minifigure scale?

Now, you did manage to do that by having our birdwatchers.

Yeah. Having them in their little shed.

The problem is those birdwatchers are tucked away in the corner.

It's very difficult to see exactly who and why and what's going on,

as far as that goes.

Obviously, technically, this is a great build.

I still don't know how those wings are attached.

I... It's something of a minor miracle.

I don't understand the science behind it.

(WHISPERS) Magic!

I did see you with Liquid Nails, to be fair, Dawei, so...

Oh! ..we will be testing it.

No.

The fact that you've turned those branches and leaves downwards -

it gives your tree significant presence

and is a great way of making the tree seem a lot bigger and thicker,

without having to lay tens of thousands of bricks.

So overall, a great technical build

and certainly incredibly colourful.

How was the bear for you, Anthony?

I'd never built a character of this size.

I'd never built a bear in general, or really an animal, at this scale.

It's so different when you actually start building

and you notice all the little things

and I think the biggest thing for me was the head.

Yeah. Getting that shape right.

'Cause there's a lot more to a bear's head

than I thought there was.

I'm gonna give the nice-part-usage award of the day,

to look at the caravan -

it's slightly out, the pattern,

so we're gonna have to penalise you on that.

Never before have we had so much detail put in

for two specific viewers who are not judges.

They're very important viewers.

Yeah, they're very important viewers and shout-out to Nanna and Poppy.

I haven't really, as yet,

seen you guys show any serious technical ability.

That changed today.

The bear?

There is a lot of room for improvement in it,

however...

that is entirely masked by the head.

That's the one thing that's catching our attention.

A bear has black eyes naturally

but in this instance, if we were to take those white components off,

we can't see where it's looking.

It's got that blank stare - which they do, in nature -

but not in Lego.

Yeah. Awesome, big tick from me.

One of the things where you could have improved -

Lego Minifigures.

If you had all of those figures all in the middle,

running away from the bear,

that's one thing

and that would have really gone,

"Oh, I can see exactly what's happening."

This build, they seem quite random about them.

There's nothing coherent about what's happening.

But I've gotta say, definitely autumn.

It looks amazing and when it goes together in our Four Seasons,

it absolutely belongs.

but to know we're back in and we've earned our place back on this show,

it's... it's amazing.

but you guys came back and made something incredible

Like, getting on the show - incredible.

Getting to come back and build something that we both love - insane

and, like, getting to once again

make one of our absurd ideas into reality...

and we got to do that today

and we're just thankful for another experience to do that.
