or at least by the boy and the girl.

(Marvin) 'Yeow!'

(male narrator) And Wendy.

And last but not least, Wonder Dog.

[Wonder Dog wails]

[Wonder Dog whimpering]

[quacks]

[Wonder Dog whimpering]

That nasty old duck had no right to bite you on the nose.

You did say heavy on the mustard and onions, didn't you?

[grunts]

Ha, ha. Hey, since you just had a bath

(Wendy) 'Golly, that's a big seagull.'

(Marvin) 'I wonder why it keeps flying around like that.'

[grunts]

[Wonder Dog barking]

(Marvin) Uh-oh. Are we ever in trouble.

You know how Wonder Dog is when he gets on a Ferris wheel.

Yeah, he never wants to come down.

[growling]

- We'll buy you another hot dog. - 'Heavy on the mustard.'

(Pelagian over radio) 'Listen to the voice of Dr. Pelagian.'

'Let the defilers beware.'

'They have one hour to stop their pollution of the seas'

'before the seas strike back.'

(male narrator) Back in the Hall of Justice League the SuperFriends

listen soberly

as Wendy and Marvin, with the help of Wonder Dog

tell their story.

A wave as big as a skyscraper, barreling in

toward the factories.

And then, at the last minute, poof

just a lot of instant foam.

Suffering surf. I wish I could've hung 10 on that wave.

What a ride.

Convulsing canines. Is he having a fit?

[yelping]

(Wonder Woman) 'Wonder Dog is trying to tell us something.'

The talking seagull.

Hey, nice work, Wonder Dog.

That message we told you about, you won't believe this, but--

Yeah, it came from a seagull flying around.

The biggest one you ever saw.

If it was as big as that, it couldn't have been a seagull.

It would have to have been an albatross, Marvin.

Wow, that's one of the biggest of all seabirds.

Right, and almost never found this far north.

And they do very little talking.

[alarm blaring]

This Dr. Pelagian has got to be a genius, whoever he is.

Pelagian is a word that means "inhabitant of the open sea."

They decided to take all necessary steps.

Except for three holdouts.

Three out of a hundred, that's not bad.

Then if Dr. Pelagian carries out his threats

it would be against these holdouts.

Yes. It's the classic case of the immoveable

meeting the irresistible.

Three stubborn industrialists clashing with a brilliant

dangerous fanatic.

There's less than an half-hour to go

till noon, then anything can happen.

I want you to get the three holdouts to cooperate.

'Let the other two merchants of smog and pollution be warned.'

the SuperFriends await Wonder Woman's return.

We're listening, Aquaman.

(Aquaman) I've been doing some research

following a hunch about who's behind all this.

Well, who is he?

Professor Ansel Hillbrand the most

brilliant marine biologist and engineer I ever met.

Say, I remember him now.

Isn't he the leading authority on the albatross?

(Aquaman) Right.

I haven't heard anything of him for a number of years.

'But all indications point to the fact'

'that he's probably our man.'

Well, then, let's check out Professor Ansel Hillbrand.

- We'll do it for you, Superman. - Be my guests.

Reading on Professor Ansel Hillbrand, please.

Repeat, Professor Ansel Hillbrand.

(Computer) 'Reading on Professor Ansel Hillbrand.'

Yes, that's Professor Hillbrand.

'Does it indicate where he is now?'

Aquaman, Hillbrand is dead.

He died five years ago in a deep-sea

diving accident off Point Gander.

A diving accident? I can't believe it.

The report says his body was never recovered.

(Wonder Woman on radio) 'Wonder Woman calling.'

'Wonder Woman calling SuperFriends.'

(male narrator) Point Gander, a grim forbidding stretch of seacoast.

Here a vast unexplored trench extends deep into the ocean.

Nothing quite as invigorating as a saltwater dip.

(male narrator) Deeper than any ordinary man could ever dream of going

easily adjusting to pressures that would crush

all but the most advanced diving gear, Aquaman descends.

Even with his incredible eyesight Aquaman finds

himself hampered by the gloom of perpetual night

as he searches, but for what, we do not know.

[rumbling]

Then, an underwater volcano begins to erupt.

Tonnes of flame boil the surrounding water

into superheated steam.

But despite this intense heat

the searing flames do provide light.

Aquaman swims on.

Success.

Aquaman finds what he's been looking for.

The deep-sea diving gear which Professor Ansel Hillbrand

made his last, fatal descent five years ago.

(Robin) Flaming fishes, Batman, look.

That's our Aquaman, always traveling in style.

Have a nice dive?

Well, the usual dull trip.

But I found what I was looking for.

That's been snagged on the ocean floor for the last five years?

That's right, Marvin.

Holy spumoni. Calling the Missing Persons Bureau.

(Wendy) Professor Hillbrand is.. He's not in the diving suit.

No, and he never was.

Suspected it, anyway.

Why did he want to pretend to be in the diving suit?

Maybe he wanted to disappear, become an obituary.

I have a feeling we'll know that before we're through.

For now, we have to figure out how to persuade our holdouts

to cooperate with all the other tycoons.

(Marvin) Uh-oh.

(male narrator) As the smoke in the room grows denser and denser

the electronically operated door

picks this moment to jam shut.

Meanwhile, at their own board meeting, the SuperFriends

are deep in discussion

when suddenly it's the TroubAlert

the Justice League's warning of disaster before it happens.

It's Wendy, in trouble at Fenwick's board of directors'.

Meet me there. I'm going on ahead.

(male narrator) The fireman's most dreaded situation

a fire so high up that they face a delay in reaching it.

What they do not know is that there is no fire, just smoke.

- Superman, can you lend a hand? - Glad to.

(Wendy) Superman. Oh, am I glad to see you.

Thanks, Wendy, but nobody was in any danger.

Some of you-know-who's work.

Oh, Dr. Pelagian again?

Another one of his demonstrations.

Right this way, gentlemen. By the way, Wendy, where's Marvin?

He went to see Miss Caraway.

most bitter tycoon of them all.

In short, the leader of the three holdouts.

We ought to prepare you for some stormy weather

when Mr. Hutchinson shows.

Yes, we're not going to be very welcome, as you'll soon see.

the grim-faced SuperFriends discuss the situation with a

worried Colonel Wilcox.

So now we know several things about Dr. Pelagian.

'One, that Professor Ansel Hillbrand is still alive'

'and that he is probably Pelagian.'

Two, that Dr. Pelagian, to call him by name

can produce unbelievable effects with wind and wave.

'Three, that so far, Dr. Pelagian has used them'

'to warn, to coax and persuade.'

The big question is if the three holdouts remain

stubborn and uncooperative

what then will Dr. Pelagian do?

(Wonder Woman) We've made several attempts

to gain the cooperation of the three holdouts and failed.

So that leaves us with Dr. Pelagian.

We've got to reach him and persuade him not to strike.

I agree.

Now, how do we get together with Dr. Pelagian?

For the moment, colonel, we don't know the answer to that.

What a time to insist on coming here.

Why not think of some way to help the SuperFriends instead?

(male narrator) Finally, the SuperFriends learn that Wendy and Marvin

are aboard Dr. Pelagian's submarine

somewhere in the ocean

and, at exactly 5:00, artificially created tidal

waves will come crashing against the factories

of the unholy three.

Ten minutes to 5:00. Let's move.

Fire one tidal wave.

- Well, Robin? - Not a peep so far.

Here it comes, Wonder Woman, at 2 o'clock high.

Robin, it's a big industrial-size tidal wave

'and it's headed for Fenwick's factories.'

Alright, friends, let's go.

(male narrator) With only precious seconds to go

an opportunity to sabotage the machinery.

I wish I was that confident. We don't have much time.

(Aquaman) 'Look, Superman. That give you any ideas?'

do what they can to keep disaster at bay.

Alright, I'll make this next tidal wave

so large no one can handle it.

(male narrator) Pelagian's final target, Caraway's generating plant.

(Robin) Well, at least this has to be his last target.

All this energy available to us, Aquaman. Any ideas?

(Aquaman) 'Aren't those Freon coils?'

Robin, what do Freon coils and unlimited power add up to?

(Aquaman) 'Right.'

Now, the tidal wave that cannot be stopped.

(male narrator) Desperately working against time

Superman and Aquaman have arranged for Freon coils

to be positioned in the surf

and for the enormous energy of the plant

to be fed into the coils

the moment Superman gives the signal.

There she is, finally.

Now.

(male narrator) Once more, the SuperFriends demonstrate

that brainpower can be more effective than brute force

and in so doing, have not only stopped tidal waves

but have created the largest ice cube ever.

Within moments

three figures make an appearance on the beach.

Gentlemen, I speak for Miss Caraway and Mr. Fenwick.

But this time, I.. That is, we..

I mean to say all of us--

What he's trying to say is

we're ready to sit down and discuss things with anyone.

Tottering tycoons, listen to that.

And we're determined now to do all we can to fight pollution.

Whoa, hold on here. We're not through yet.

(male narrator) Elsewhere, Wonder Woman's transparent plane

carries the SuperFriends seaward.

I wish I could join you and Aquaman.

Thanks, but this operation is best handled by two.

(male narrator) Aquaman sweeps the vast areas of the ocean with his sonar

to zero in on the elusive submarine.

I'm getting echo pulses, Superman.

The sub's in that direction.

(Superman) Lead on, Aquaman.

(Pelagian) Intruders. They must be delayed.

(Superman) Giant squid, and they look menacing.

No problem, Superman.

I'm communicating with them. They'll move aside.

Very well done, an ink screen.

(Aquaman) Something's curious here.

It's almost as if they're not getting my signals.

Those killer whales definitely don't look peaceful.

I'll signal them, explain.

'It's no good. Somehow my signals are being blocked.'

Uh-oh. We don't want to have to hurt them.

(male narrator) But as the pair flee

Yes, Dr. Pelagian probably devised an energy diversion

that blocks out my signals.

Ingenious. Now what?

Nets, Aquaman. Did you ever go fishing for a whale?

(Aquaman) Alright, here they come.

(male narrator) With the huge but very fragile net

the Superfriends temporarily corral the huge beasts.

Your friends are very resourceful.

But let's see if they can follow the Sprite in a power dive.

(Superman) Oh, no, you don't.

Visitors, 12 o'clock high.

'Well, we knew that net wouldn't hold them forever.'

I'll lead them away, you continue on.

Those whales are still looking for me in the Sargasso Sea.
