it's clear that Hurricane Andrew is shaping up to be

the most costly natural disaster in American history.

While some people say that it is a miracle

that only 44 people have been reported dead,

to the families of the victims, the loss is immeasurable.

160,000 South Florida residents have been left homeless

by the devastating power of Hurricane Andrew.

The National Guard has been

called in for support, as tempers have flared

As the people here comb through

of the comfortable lives they led before Hurricane Andrew.

Ever since Hurricane Andrew in 1992,

there's been a whole new generation of

there is one part of the puzzle that still eludes us.

And that is controlling a storm's direction.
