I coach kids with special needs and autism

and give them an opportunity as well.

So, when it comes to coaching,

I know how to coach all aspects of a person.

sometimes it's not even the sound.

It's more of the spirit that you hear,

rather than the voice you hear, am I right?

Um, my name is Edward Preble.

I am age 19, from Fernandina Beach, Florida.

My closet mostly consists of suits.

I wear button-downs, sport coats,

although sometimes I do a little more casual,

like a little coat like this or --

I don't even know what this is.

And, uh, I'll be wearing stuff like that.

Some people might think,

why don't you dress like everyone else?

Because I don't know.

I don't really have a good answer for that.

[ Imitates whooshing ]

It's a big room, warm colors. I like it a lot.

Oh, this is a gas.

When it comes to the way I speak,

it might have been the music I listen to

and the accents people used to have,

but slowly but surely, I really enjoyed talking like that.

Other kids didn't really jig with my jive

that I was putting off,

but at the end of the day, I was happy.

I don't want to be anyone. I want to be me.

I grew up in Florida,

and I'm currently studying music performance

over at Hofstra in New York.

Music has always been in my blood.

Everyone in my family on my father's side

was a jazz musician.

We have a very musical family.

It sort of skipped a generation with me,

but we've always played music at home.

We played Frank Sinatra, blues -- Snoop Dogg.

Snoop Dog.

This guy I love. He's just free.

That's how I want to be. I want to be free.

I want to swing loose.

Snoop Dogg would be a good choice.

Snoop Dogg! That's my dawg.

For me to be here right now is pretty incredible.

around my college campus and stuff,

So, I've had experience.

The greatest gift America has ever given

to the arts, in my opinion, is jazz.

because I'm protective,

highly protective of this genre.

I've been so lucky to be one of the few people

to keep it alive,

because I love it more than you'll ever know.

And dude, I know I can swing just as hard as Snoop.

My oldest daughter

I'm Creigh Riepe.

I'm 32 years old,

and I'm originally from Charlotte Court House, Virginia.

But I live full time in Nashville, Tennessee.

Florence is my 3-year-old.

She's a spunky, wild-hearted 3-year-old,

and Eliza is our baby.

She is nine months old.

They're a lot of fun to do life with.

It's fun being a girl dad.

And I'm pursuing this adventure for them.

After high school,

I picked up everything and moved to Nashville

to go to college.

As soon as I graduated, I joined a band.

We played a ton of festivals,

but some of the guys decided

that they wanted to move back to California.

When we split up, I had a tough time

just kind of rediscovering my purpose in music.

I had become dependent on alcohol to cope

with everything that was going on in my life.

Two years ago, I had a wake-up call,

and I decided that I didn't want to drink anymore.

I just wanted to be the best father

and spouse that I could be.

It's been two years since I've had a drink now.

My sobriety is very important to me.

I started doing a lot of production work.

I run a recording studio in Nashville.

I'm proud of you. You're proud of me?

My family definitely gives me the strength

to maintain sobriety

because I want my daughters to grow up seeing a sober dad.

I hope that one day they can watch this

and just see that importance to me.

I love you.

Well, I definitely did not expect to be the one

to come in here and start tearing up about something.

a little bit of how important they are to me.

When I went to high school,

I went to the Philadelphia School for the Arts'

for Musical Theater program.

When I was 17, I landed my first role

in the movie "Camp" with Anna Kendrick.

After the movie, I definitely felt like this was it.

This is the moment.

But it did not come, unfortunately.

Everyone went on to other things,

and I didn't.

The music took a backseat.

Everything took a backseat.

Life was lifing, and then the baby came.

I had my first child at 22.

All of my children are six years apart.

So, my life just took a different direction.

It took me a while to get back into the music,

but I found my way back.

And I was able to do that. I'm super proud of it.

My name is Adam Bohanan.

I am 40 years old,

and I am from Minneapolis, Minnesota.

I'm a really big nerd.

I'm into so many things.

Like, I have at home a lot of Lego sets,

just all over the place.

I really love comic books.

All the stars.

So "Star Trek," "Star Wars," "Stargate,"

"Battlestar Galactica," all of the stars.

I'm a big star guy.

We disagree on which "Star Trek" show is the best.

Also, I want to get, like, "Star Trek" tattoos,

but I can't -- can't convince her to get a tattoo.

I'm working on finishing a "Star Trek" R&B album.

My wife and I got married on Picard Day.

My aunt had actually, like, dressed up

as a "Star Trek" captain for our wedding.

I'm going to be playing, uh, one cover, one original.

In Minneapolis. I am a wedding singer,

and I also have a band that I've put together.

So, I'm a fun-loving guy,

First "Voice" season, Jeremy was 12,

and I had seen the advertisements

and said, "Oh, Jeremy's gonna love this show."

My name is Jeremy Beloate.

I'm 25 years old,

and I'm originally from Memphis, Tennessee.

My family and I were all very different

and have different interests.

"The Voice" was kind of the show we would watch

and that would -- created, like, this sense of unity between us.

I just like her red hair. She's fiery.

When I was 4 years old,

I told my mom that I was a good singer

and that I really wanted to find a place to sing,

and she found this little kids' group,

so I started singing with them.

I was the only boy, and I would wear, like,

rhinestone jackets and sing Motown, Elvis, Al Green.

After college, I moved to New York

for me to really, like, focus on my craft

and to chase my dreams.

My parents were so supportive.

I had come from a really close-knit family.

My brother Joel was a drummer.

Other than that, no one in my family did singing.

Oh, this is one of my all-time favorites here.

Just of my three boys sleeping together in one single bed.

Aww.

when I was 16, Joel passed away.

He had always struggled with addiction.

It was a shock.

* If I would have known *

* That you wouldn't be here anymore *

* I would have made the moments last a little longer *

And then when I was a junior in college,

my dad passed away from addiction.

And then recently, this past fall,

my -- my brother Adam also passed away.

* 'Cause now I'm alone *

He was doing really well

and had been sober for nine years.

Um, but he relapsed,

and then it just -- it took its course.

The hardest part about this loss was watching my mom struggle.

It's been a journey this last year.

[ Voice breaking ] Um, I wish they were here to see Jeremy.

They are. They are. They are.

It's been heartbreaking.

And I think for my family,

it feels like every few years,

something horrible is going to come.

But like, I'm here,

and I'm ready to bring good news to my mom.

I feel like I'm the change.

There could not be a better time for me to do the show.

I feel so fired up and ready to, like, build a legacy

for myself and for my family.

And it just feels like I'm meant to be here.

And I feel, like, all my, like, guardian angels with me.

I'm not going to be the only one singing when I'm on that stage.

I just recently graduated from Belmont.

No kidding? Um, it's been about five years.

The first four were a little bit too much fun,

so I thought I'd take a fifth.

I was born a ginger. There's not too many of us left.

We're stronger when we're together.

I grew up on '90s country.

It started with my grandfather.

These cowboy boots, they're actually my grandfather's

that he's had since the '70s.

He's the one that showed me Johnny Cash, Waylon Jennings.

He still listens to them today.

He's still got it on the CD version.

We still haven't taught him about streaming services. [ Chuckles ]

We need to high-five.

I just graduated from Belmont University.

I was studying business,

but I still had that passion of music.

It wasn't just me.

It was 90% of the student body,

either in the hallways, outside,

just playing guitar, writing music.

It's a little bit odd

if you go to Belmont and you don't play guitar. [ Chuckles ]

It's tricky in Nashville because it's hard to get heard,

and -- and to be heard by this show is a really cool moment.

I loved your voice, the dynamics, your range.

It's got that sexy sound that I like so much.

I'm just tickled to pieces that you got on "The Voice"

and that we got to listen to you sing today,

and I would love to have you on my team.

I'm Malcolm-Ali.

I'm 27 years old, from this little town

called Galloway, New Jersey.

For my dreams to come true,

I'm currently living in Los Angeles.

I started out doing a little bit of childhood acting

and wanting to sing.

10 years old, I auditioned for "The Lion King."

I was cast as Young Simba in the national tour.

When I finished the show,

I just never really stopped singing ever again.

I wanted to, after high school, focus on music and acting,

and my parents were very much against that.

Your first was going to be your passion.

We always tell you to follow your passion.

However, we know that your passion

doesn't pay the bills all the time.

Malcom-Ali: So, I had to go study IT at the family school.

My parents and my three older siblings

all went to Syracuse University.

After graduating, I moved to L.A.

I've done wedding gigs,

and I had a residency at a lounge in Hollywood.

Two years ago, I started singing background for Babyface,

which was a major turning point for me.

He's definitely a mentor in so many ways.

It's been hard balancing music with my full-time job

as a project manager with a travel startup.

Even when I'm on tour, I'm still working,

whether it's a tour bus or from the hotel.

I'm still so tired, but we're here.

I'm trying to find a better balance there

where, like, music is, like, the dominant factor in my life.

I feel like I've had so many times

where amazing things happen,

but they're, like, highlights.

You had a strategy? You know, now I --

I don't even know what I'm doing now.

And I want those moments to no longer be highlights for me

and just be the story of my life.

I'm 24 years old,

and I'm from Minnetonka, Minnesota.

Donni: Frankie was one of those kids

that was singing before she was speaking.

And the next thing I know, she's 8 years old,

in a full regalia, in a bar singing.

Frankie: Currently I am performing with my cover band.

We do a lot of rock, country.

We perform at bars, private parties.

Donni: Her dad, he'd be lurking at the back, taping her,

and he was always the first one to yell, "'Free Bird,'"

just to get a laugh out of everyone.

We're just like, "Dude." [ Laughter ]

Frankie: My dad was the most just amazing person.

I was so lucky, I had 22 years

where he was at every single one of my performances,

cheering me on.

About a year and a half ago, I lost my dad to ALS,

which is an incurable disease.

It's a terrible disease.

He couldn't walk.

He couldn't even lift his head up.

It was so hard because he'd always been

this strong, athletic, charismatic guy

who would lift me on his shoulders

even when I was like 11 years old

and way too big for that.

He loved hearing you sing.

His hand will be on your back when you take that microphone

and you -- and when you go. Frankie: Yeah.

Frankie: I know that he's watching me and cheering me on.
