The bride and groom shall bow to each other.

You said you trust Yeok.

I guarantee you that...

very soon you shall begin to doubt him.

That is because Yeok is deceiving you.

The bride and groom drink from the same cup.

If they really have not heard from the scribe,

they will search for him...

in order to find out about the secret document.

If they already knew where the scribe was,

they will realize this letter is a fake.

Then his son will go to his father...

to make sure that...

he is safe and well.

Seo Noh.

Father.

- Father. - Seo Noh.

Seo Noh.

Father, are you okay?

Yes, Seo Noh.

The Queen Dowager wanted this marriage,

and it was held by the King's order.

However, I hope...

this marriage is not one of convenience.

I hope it will be an ordinary marriage.

I understand...

what you mean.

Now, Chae Gyung's life...

is in your hands.

So please, live just as my son-in-law,

as Chae Gyung's husband,

and as the King's brother.

Please, I ask of you.

The fate of you and my son is very funny.

You both took a long way to come full circle.

Do you not agree?

People say that...

everything returns to righteousness in the end.

The fact that we are together...

after such a long time is proof...

that we were truly meant to be.

I am telling you...

that I will not repeat my foolish mistakes.

Therefore,

please forget the things of the past.

If you have any bitterness,

please forget them, Queen Dowager.

A woman must live...

according to their father when one is born,

according to their husband when one gets married,

and when one gets old,

they must live according to their son's will.

May I trust you to live...

according to my son's will...

as opposed to the will of Second State Councilor?

Yes.

Everything I learned and received from my father...

will be used and practiced with...

my husband from now on.

Queen Dowager.

A doctor came from the Royal Infirmary.

Stop.

They stopped attacking us.

They were after something else.

Prince.

Chae Gyung.

I just remembered something. I will be back.

I will see you at home.

He is running away right after the wedding.

Maybe he has a woman on the side.

Nanny.

If not, that is good news.

Where is Yeok headed in such hurry?

I do not know.

You may begin the examination.

Yes, Queen Dowager.

Yeok, are you okay?

Did anything happen?

Where is Seo Noh?

He is not here. Why?

It was suspicious how they stopped...

attacking us so quickly.

We may have not been their targets.

If we were not their targets, then...

Seo Noh.

What?

Seo Noh?

Seo Noh.

Where is your father?

While I went away to get some food,

he left with this letter.

Did you see them do anything else?

Are you sure you were not tailed?

No, I did not see anything in particular.

Did he really leave like this?

What? He left like this?

He did not tell us about the secret document.

Yes, right. The secret document.

Did he not say anything when you saw him?

We had no time.

That is very odd.

He did not even catch up with his son.

Why did he leave so quickly?

Your Majesty, Queen Dowager is here.

Let her in.

What brings you here?

It seemed like you were hurt.

When did you catch that?

A son and a mother's relationship...

is like a habit.

I saw you from afar,

but I could clearly see your wound.

That is a bad habit.

Why did you get hurt so badly?

I got hurt while I was hunting.

I thought it was a weak elk,

but I found out it was actually a wolf.

So...

did you catch the wolf?

Soon, I will.

When I do, I will skin it...

and give it to you.

You need not play the role of a mother anymore.

Please leave.

I have no idea what is on his mind.

He even has a wound on his face,

- but he is so silent. - Did it look like...

he found out about the secret document?

I just felt that...

he is determined to get Yeok soon.

I have bribed a court lady at the palace secretly.

She will report to me if there is anything strange.

Let us wait.

This will be the only marriage in my life.

I just remembered something. I will be back.

I will see you at home.

I guarantee you that...

very soon you shall begin to doubt him.

Young Lady.

You do not have to wait...

for your husband to undo this.

Wearing it will only hurt your neck.

He only just became your husband...

Stop.

I already have a lot on my mind.

It is not like he has been married to you for long.

I know he is handsome,

but if he cheats on you I will break his legs.

Lady Shin.

This is Eunuch Song.

Good afternoon, Your Majesty.

I thought I got you everything.

But I missed one.

These are medicine and ointments.

I am so grateful, Your Majesty.

Why did you prepare these?

Yeok has been...

getting injured a lot, has he not?

I believe he will continue to get hurt.

It seems like...

you too have been injured.

Did you two have a fight?

Have a fight?

Who do you mean? Yeok and I?

They say brothers grow up fighting.

Brothers.

Is Yeok...

injured as well?

I did not get to...

see him properly after the wedding.

Did you really come all the way here...

to give me that?

Of course not.

Did you forget the promise you made?

You said you would be my spy.

Should I not gain the prince's trust first?

In order to find out about someone...

one must gain the trust first, so...

Should you not gain my trust...

before you gain Yeok's trust?

First you must prove that...

you will not disobey me and carry out your duty...

as my spy.

Yesterday...

I went to the pawn shop Yeok visits frequently.

Something strange happened there.

When I went to the pawn shop...

I am certain that Yeok was not there.

But I heard that an hour after I left,

Yeok came out of that pawn shop.

My servant who had been keeping watch...

told me that nobody had gone into the shop.

It seems to me that..

the pawn shop is suspicious.

Do you not want to know...

what Yeok is hiding?

(Pawn Shop)

Just in case, you should get in touch...

with the snail wives...

and look for Seo Noh's father.

By the way, what about Yoo Ja Gwang?

Did you meet with his favorite kisaeng?

We will do it before the end of the day.

Yeok, do not worry about Yoo Ja Gwang...

and Seo Noh's father. You should go home.

It is your wedding night.

I am fine.

I will leave it up to you then.

- Okay. - Okay.

You should bring flowers for your wife.

If you upset her the first night,

you will be in trouble forever.

Congratulations...

on getting married.

Thanks a lot.

You scared me.

You are late,

and you brought me flowers as a way to say sorry.

Well... I feel bad.

You already changed clothes.

Was I not supposed to help you get changed...

and undo the bride's headpiece?

Since when were we concerned about customs?

That was before we were married.

Now that we are married...

So you are late because you are married.

Do you miss your freedom already?

Chae Gyung, it seems you know how to tease.

I am nothing compare to you, my prince.

Did you just say my...

My Prince?

His Majesty gave us a present as well.

Yung did?

Are you...

hurt...

or injured?

No.

You have not eaten yet, have you?

I will prepare dinner.

Did she notice?

Well... This is...

You remember the cave, do you not?

This is from then.

Because it was a poisonous arrow...

the wound...

keeps getting infected.

Sure. I did not say anything.

Even if you were to say...

that this wound is not from the cave...

but from a few years ago, then so it is.

Because I can...

will myself to trust someone.

I will trust...

only the heart and words...

of the person I want to trust.

Chae Gyung.

But...

I cannot...

will myself to stop you from getting hurt.

So if you can...

please do not come home injured.

It is not because of you but because of me.

Because it hurts me more.

Young Lady.

Your dinner is here.

I am sorry, Seo Noh.

I am leaving...

your side once again.

The destiny of people like us...

are in the hands of the people above us.

Father, I brought some food...

You are following your beliefs...

to protect Prince Jin Seong.

I wish that you do not waver or falter.

Be strong and follow this path.

You are my precious and admirable son.

I am so thankful, and I am so sorry.

You...

could have had one meal with me before you left.

Did you leave something behind?

Yes.

Why are you looking at me that way?

Is it because of this?

This is simply a letter that my father left me.

- If you do not believe... - I did not say anything.

I am sure he left safely.

Pardon?

I am sure your father left safely.

So you should not worry.

Is this...

your revenge because I was late?

My father said...

that a home-cooked meal is good because of my mother.

He said it is good no matter how it tastes,

because she cooks it with love for family.

I hope...

you can think the same way as he did.

I hope you think your meals are good...

not because they taste great,

but because I made them.

Because I made them while thinking of you.

Yes.

From now on,

I will always eat at home no matter what.

You are the one person who thinks...

the most dearly of me,

so food at home must be such a delicacy.

Goodness.

They are all keeping their eyes on the young couple.

I should go and pluck those eyes out.

Like you said,

we followed the scribe's son,

and he was meeting with his father.

I knew things would get complicated...

once Prince Jin Seong finds out,

so I told them to do away with him quietly.

Your... Your Majesty.

If this...

was five years ago,

I would have listened...

to your excuse for fun.

But sadly,

I came to see you today of all days.

So it is hard for me to show you mercy.

Because you hid the secret document...

and ran away for such a long time,

do you have...

any idea what I had to do?

Where is the secret document?

I am going to spread out the bedding...

and leave.

Leave? To where?

My room is in the other building.

Are you saying...

we are using different rooms on our first night?

Yes.

The Queen Dowager made it very clear that...

we must sleep together only on designated days.

Why would Mother say that?

I was examined by a doctor...

after the wedding, and she said...

I need to take medicine to get healthier before...

Anyway.

Regardless of that,

you would have still slept alone tonight.

Move aside.

You are going to regret this later.

You are going to kick the sheets.

That would be better than kicking you.

Chae Gyung.

No, my wife.

Hey...

Fine, whatever. My goodness.

You have to get changed before you lie down...

I heard men become a baby when they get married.

Are you starting already?

If two people get married,

I thought the wife should stay with her husband.

You can do whatever you wish.

Good night, then.

Hey, Chae Gyung.

Stay with me, will you?

Come on.

I am going to sleep here instead of you,

so please stay there. Please.

I bet you did not think about this.

Are you going to stay there?

I told you that I will leave...

after you fall asleep.

So go to sleep.

This is not going to work.

I will go to my room...

Prince,

you promised that we will just stay here together.

I did not say anything.

I am going to sleep.

Very soon you shall begin to doubt him.

That is because...

Yeok is deceiving you.

I am not getting deceived by him.

I am waiting for him.

Just because he tells the truth a little late,

it does not mean this is a lie.

How...

Why...

did you get injured?

Where is the secret document?

Your Majesty. He may die before he confesses.

Please calm down.

I will ask you for the last time.

If you do not answer now,

I will kill your son.

Will you tell?

Your Majesty.

Please...

spare my son.

My son...

really does not know anything.

Because of...

the crime he committed as a child...

He is by the prince's side...

only because he feels indebted to him.

Your Majesty.

I...

will tell you everything.

Yes. This is how a father should be.

- Your Majesty. - This is what a dad is.

A father does anything to save his child.

This is what a father is.

But why was my father...

so cold?

Why did my father...

leave a secret document to destroy me?

Why on earth?

It was for Joseon.

The king alone...

cannot lead the people and the country.

So the late king said that the one...

who has the support of the ministers must...

become the king.

The late king...

did not make the decision as a father,

but he did it as the king of this country...

Stop your nonsense!

The secret document...

The secret document...

is branded on a woman's body.

A woman?

It is branded on a woman's body?

Who is that woman?

Please inspect the women...

around the late king.

I do not know...

anything else.

Fine. I will trust you.

But...

nobody else should know about this.

So...

you should be gone.

This is why...

you should not be the king...

Father.

No, your father is tired.

- Are you okay? - Yes.

- Father. - Goodness.

My goodness, dear.

I will hunt here...

tomorrow.

Clear the whole village immediately and make it...

into a hunting ground.

Destroy everything.

Everything.

All of it!

People are requesting the impeachment of...

the Vice Minister of Defense, Yoo Ja Gwang.

They say he extorted abalones and oysters...

from fishermen for his personal interest.

Your Majesty.

They were all offered to you.

Those are your favorite...

I do not...

remember liking them.

Your Majesty.

I only did so out of loyalty...

Second State Councilor.

What is the name of the crime...

and what is the punishment?

It is considered a crime of bribery.

His title may be stripped,

and he may be exiled or flogged.

Minister Yoo.

Yes, Your Majesty.

Would you prefer to get flogged...

or to get exiled?

Your Majesty. I am Yoo Ja Gwang.

How could you punish me?

Would you prefer both?

I will be exiled.

I am too tired today.

I will not attend the lecture.

Did you write the letter of appeal...

to impeach Minister Yoo?

I wrote it as...

a representative of many other ministers...

who felt the same.

I know that.

What I want to know is, how did you find out...

about all the details of his misdeeds?

The snail wives were the first to tell me.

But the inspectors and I...

did the investigation.

Snail wives.

(Yoo Ja Gwang)

Bills have been posted on the walls...

revealing the corruption caused by the ministers...

and the wealthy.

The people believe whatever...

the snail wives say.

It is because the snail wives...

saved them by distributing rice...

during the famine, while the King...

and the ministers did nothing to help.

I see.

I hear about...

people talking about the snail wives.

The appearance of the snail wives...

coincides with the time when Prince Jin Seong...

came to the capital.

Do you not know anything about this?

Yes, I do.

I know very well that you are trying to...

cloud the King's judgment and make him a tyrant.

Please...

restrain yourself.

It cannot be Prince Jin Seong.

No, it cannot be.

It must not be.

But you cannot simply ignore it.

Right now, they are simply the people's savior.

But what if Prince Jin Seong is with them?

In any case, Your Highness.

Do not be sad nor happy.

Be solemn.

I will look into the snail wives...

and take care of it.

It seems to me that the pawn shop is suspicious.

Do you not want to know...

what Yeok is hiding?

As soon as you find out, come to the back garden...

of the palace.

You did it. You did.

You did not.

Did you two still not do anything?

I told you. Nothing will happen for a while.

The Queen Dowager also told me not to.

That is absurd.

If you are married, that is something...

you are required to do. My goodness.

Young lady, it is up to you too.

You should also be making an effort.

I cannot do that by making an effort.

Of course, you can.

First of all, set up a table with drinks.

Then you say, "Are you home, Husband?"

And you look at him with sexy eyes.

Then you make him drink. He will get all worked up.

- After that... - After that?

After that? After that...

You ask him who his first love is,

and the number of women before you.

You tell him you are fine, and he will spill...

all of his past because he is drunk.

That is when you clear up the history...

and take the initiative in the relationship.

What am I saying?

Yes, that is right.

What is?

Nanny.

Give me some drinks. Everything we have.

What? Everything?

If he drinks too much, he cannot do anything.

Yes, so that he cannot do anything.

Give me some hard liquor to knock him out quickly.

Quickly?

Who is it?

Young Lady.

Seo Noh, you were here. This is great.

- What is this? - Here you are.

Everyone, you must be hard working.

You should all grab a drink.

Chae Gyung.

Prince.

You should not just call him Prince.

You two are married. Call him properly.

By properly, do you mean...

they should call each other...

husband and wife?

It is not easy to call him...

my husband...

over a short period of time.

That is correct.

My wife.

Great job.

We have not greeted you properly, Lady Shin.

The Prince and I ran around naked since...

I am his best friend, Baek Suk Hee.

Call me Suk Hee.

You can call me Gwang Oh.

Nice to meet you. I am Shin Chae Gyung.

There is more?

This is liquor is Red Wine from Jin Island.

It is said that it was the late king's favorite.

It is a very precious liquor.

You should try it.

I have never had it,

but I have heard of it. Red Wine from Jin Island.

Goodness, Yeok married such a wonderful lady.

Thank you very much, Lady Shin.

Are you here to nag at me...

because I always come home late?

I am not here to nag.

You work so hard, so I came to show my support.

This liquor is great.

It felt different when I swallowed it.

Seo Noh, why are you not drinking?

I think...

I should stop.

Hey, you make me feel disappointed.

If you do not drink now, when will you get drunk?

Prince, should the three friends drink together?

Yes.

I will just take one look around.

Then I will confidently tell His Majesty...

that there was nothing here...

and that he has nothing to worry about.

Are they together?

Pardon?

Yes.

I am here with you.

I mean Chae Gyung.

I am asking if she is with Yeok.

Yes.

I am sure they are.

They got married.

That means...

this is the beginning...

of their misfortune.

A married couple...

can never be happy.

They will always be suspicious,

jealous,

and hateful of each other.

Mother, I am healthy.

You are not healthy.

You are sick right now.

You had nightmares and a bloody nose every night,

so that is why I brought you in a hurry.

Let us go.

Queen, you cannot enter.

The Prince is very sick, Your Majesty.

You must take a look.

Queen.

He is a young boy who needs his father.

That does not mean...

you can rudely barge into my bedroom.

Leave immediately.

If I do not come like this,

it is so difficult to see you.

I know you are busy with state affairs,

but you should take care of your family first.

Prince.

Come here.

Let me see how you are doing.

Queen.

Yes.

I am the Prince's mother,

and the Queen of this country.

So, move.

This is not a place for you.

I felt embarrassed...

and I despised it when my mother...

barged into my father's bedroom...

using me as an excuse.

However,

I understand her now.

My mother...

was just a human.

She just wanted to be loved by her lover.

Before she was a queen of this country,

she...

was just a woman who wanted to live...

as someone's wife.

Your Majesty.

That is why...

I suddenly got curious.

Do I...

want to live as a king?

Or...

do I want to live...

as someone's husband?

Your Majesty.

Your Majesty.

I brought the women.

- Greetings, Your Majesty. - Greetings, Your Majesty.

These are the court ladies...

who attended to the late king's needs.

Then I will leave.

Undress them.

You look a bit like her.

Your forehead,

cheeks, and nose.

Look like her? These women...

were brought here to find the secret document.

Will you...

spend the night with me?

My goodness.

Do not be afraid.

I will not harm you.

The moon is full

We have more wine at home.

I shall bring some.

Yeok, bring some meat.

I want meat.

Meat, meat.

Are you done already?

Have another drink.

Sure.

I wish you well.

Thank you. Stay safe.

I have many rare items.

Come and have a look. Just have a look.

You can just look.

They are very rare.

I have many rare items.

Come and have a look. Just have a look.

Something strange happened there.

When I went to the pawn shop...

I am certain that Yeok was not there.

But I heard that an hour after I left,

Yeok came out of that pawn shop.

Do you not want to know...

what Yeok is hiding?

What am I doing?

Why am I acting like a thief?

I should not do this. I cannot.

I said I would trust him.

Your Highness.

Can we just...

move to Geochang and live there?

Let us go to Geochang,

farm land...

and live simple lives.

Yes.

Let us do that.

Why do you want to bathe this late at night?

Wait.

What was that noise?

What was that?

What is going on?

What is this?

What is this?

What is this?

Father.

Father.

Father.

What happened?

Why did you not contact us?

Is this about the secret document?

Now do you know?

Yes.

The secret document.

The late king's will.

No.

To be exact, it was not his will.

It was his secret command.

It was written the year...

you were born...

and he ordered it be kept in secret.

So that you can see it...

once you had come of age.

Then...

it was to give you the power you need.

That secret document.

Where is it?

The location of the letter...

is written in ink...

on the body of a woman.

That woman is...

Tonight...

I will sleep here.

I will keep it from the Queen Dowager.

Your Highness.

Suk Hee.

Your Highness. Your Highness.

You will be noticed. What is it?

Seo Noh's father is dead.

What?

We found his body.

It was outside the pawn shop.

Something happened at the pawn shop.

I will not be long.

Is something the matter, Lady Shin?

It is nothing.

Something happened at the pawn shop.

I will not be long.

Here. Try this on.

Is it too small?

Not at all.

One must wear this fit...

if you wish to stand out.

You grew up to be a find young man.

You are following your beliefs...

to protect Prince Jin Seong.

I wish that you do not waver or falter.

Be strong and follow this path.

You are my precious and admirable son.

I am so thankful, and I am so sorry.

His determination would be...

a traitorous mind.

Everything he does...

would be a scheme of treason.

I am sorry, Seo Noh.

I failed to protect him.

Then...

become king as soon as possible.

If you become king,

you can protect the rest of us.

Make sure that...

no more...

innocent people,

like my father, die.

It is not too late for you.

This is your last chance.
