[Episode 40]

Kid, you always have us worried about you.

It hasn't been long since you came back, you have created a sensation!

I'm sorry to have you worried about me, Disciple Uncle.

Since you want to hide, why didn't you come here earlier?

We've troubled you for so many times.

We don't want to drag you down anymore.

What nonsense is that?

I'm so old now. What's there to fear?

All right, you guys will live here.

With me here, I guarantee you that you'll be fine.

As for Her Majesty, I believe she's only angry for the time being.

I'll persuade her in a few days. Everything will be fine.

Actually, I still have one thing that I'm asking for your help.

Are you sure they have all entered?

I'm very sure.

- Have you informed Her Majesty? \N - Yes, I have.

Great.

- Stop. \N - Stop.

Go ahead.

Timing and Subtitles brought to you by the Subbers of the Destiny @ Viki

Official Qiushan.

Why did you come here with so many people?

As commanded by Her Majesty, I'm here to arrest Chen Changsheng.

Father Xin, I assume you won't stop me. Right?

Chen Changsheng and his gang haven't been here.

I'm afraid you made a trip in vain.

He is not here.

Father Xin, I think you are hiding something from me. Are you not?

You're joking.

Great. If that's the case,

I don't think you will mind me searching this place, Father Xin.

Search!

How dare you! You don't respect the Li Palace.

Do you also have no respect to His Holiness?

- Search!\N- Got it!

Official, there's a secret door here!

- Go after them! \N - Got it. Let's go!

Hurry up!

You almost got me, Father Xin.

Nobody's here. Let's go.

Where do you want to escape?

Junior Sister, you've done your part for him.

It's time to let go.

I will never.

Why?

Why don't you understand?

In my life, you're the only one in my heart.

In your life, there's only one in your heart.

Who's that person in your heart then?

Kill her!

Junior Sister!

Stop it!

What are you doing?

Are you really going to send them to Her Majesty?

Of course, we should kill the witnesses.

If they die, no one will know your true identity.

But I won't allow you to hurt my junior sister!

What? Can't you bear it?

Then, how could you bear it when you killed Guan Feibai and Gou Hanshi?

Enough!

Don't bring them up.

How could they die if it weren't for you?

Her Majesty is going to be here soon.

You better leave now.

No big deal. Master just gave me a magical treasure to deal with immortal-like elites.

By the way, I have you as a helping hand.

You don't know how powerful Her Majesty is. We actually won't be able to nail her.

Besides, it's possible that His Holiness is by her side. You should go now quickly!

How could His Holiness be with her?

If Her Majesty comes here, His Holiness will definitely tag along.

Don't you understand?

What I meant was, His Holiness... is obviously by my side.

Your Holiness.

Your Highness, Luo Luo.

So I've entered a psychedelic space.

You guys conned me!

Is Senior Brother Han really dead?

You've been disciple brothers together for so many years.

How could you be so heartless to kill him?

It looks like no matter what I say, nothing is going to change now.

That's right. I'm responsible for the death of Junior Brother Hanshi

and Junior Brother Guan.

It's the sin I can't get away with for my whole life.

Hanshi!

First Senior Brother!

If you hadn't fallen in love with Chen Changsheng, I wouldn't have become so jealous

which gave Nanke a chance to plant a Demon Seed in me,

and caused me to commit these felonies.

How can a grown man blame everything on a girl?

Senior Brother, you're too stubborn.

You're always stubborn.

Don't you understand that the sooner you let go,

the sooner you will get out of the pain?

But I believe Qiushan Jun can get rid of it finally this time.

Chen Changsheng, I didn't expect that I'd spend so much time and energy to catch you,

but only end up tricked by you.

I guess God is making a fool of me.

Don't blame Changsheng.

You neglected so many loopholes.

It only means you have attachment to the Demon Clan!

No!

You know that. No matter what happens in this lifetime,

you're the only one in my heart.

Bad news!

Bad news! Bad news!

Her Majesty has arrived!

Your Majesty, welcome!

We are grateful to Your Majesty's grace and mercy.

- Your Majesty. \N - Where's Chen Changsheng?

Chen Changsheng left after he revealed Qiushan Jun's real identity as a spay of the Demon Clan.

Are you saying Qiushan is a spy sent by the Demon Clan?

Where's he?

Qiushan, I want to hear it from you.

Are you really a spy of the Demon Clan?

I was attacked by the Demon Intent and lost my mind.

I've abused Your Majesty's trust.

Ten thousand deaths will not atone for my crime.

Ten thousand deaths?

Nothing is going to change if you die for a hundred thousand times!

You're a hero of the Human Clan,

but become a spy of the Demon Clan?!

It's such a big joke.

Take him! Keep a close eye on him!

Yes.

Ease your anger, Your Majesty.

The fact Qiushan Jun got lured by the Black Robe in Zhou Garden

showed that we underestimated the Demon Clan.

We failed to clear the Demon Intent for him earlier.

It's a loss for us Human Clan to see a good kid turning like this.

You're so right.

However, even if Qiushan is the spy of the Demon Clan,

it can't change the crime that Chen Changsheng defied my order and escaped secretly.

But you two are mother and son after all.

No matter how many disagreements you have, why can't you sit down and have a talk?

I don't know why Changsheng resisted Your Majesty's kindness.

But I'm confident I can persuade him to come back to your side.

I hope so.

Teacher, what if Her Majesty finds us?

Your Highness, don't worry.

Even if Her Majesty find you, for the sake of Emperor Bai, she won't give you a hard time.

It must be a big blow to her after finding out about the incident of Qiushan Jun.

I can understand how she feels.

- Changsheng!\N- Teacher! Are you okay?

Don't worry. I got hurt a little bit a moment ago.

Although we've got over one trouble, as long as I don't hand over the Star Map,

we will still be in danger.

The power of Her Majesty isn't something we can deal with.

Did you wake up?

Here. Drink some water.

Drink.

Slow down. Don't choke yourself.

Slower. Don't move.

Thank you, Ma'am.

You can't move around.

You need to rest in bed for at least three months for your wound.

I'm just glad I'm still alive.

I need to hurry back to town.

See?

Didn't I tell you not to move around?

See? Your wound will burst again.

I told you to not to move around.

If you move again, I won't give you food to eat.

Don't move around, okay?

Isn't that Qiushan Jun? What happened to him?

Qiushan Jun has ganged up with the Demon Clan.

He has committed the most heinous crimes.

It's Her Majesty's order to send him to the Imperial jail for him to wait for trial

You're lying! Qiushan Jun is a big hero in our Human Clan.

He's not the spy of the Demon Clan!

You're the bad guy!

Go away!

Qiushan Jun, you're not a spy.

You're a hero, right?

You're not a spy. You are a good guy.

Qiushan Jun! Qiushan Jun!

Stop.

It's Your Majesty's order to escort Qiushan Jun to the Imperial jail.

[The Imperial Jail of the Capital]

Nanke, you...

Your disease is worse than I thought.

If we don't take care of it soon enough,

I'm afraid...

I'm sorry to have you worried, Disciple Uncle.

Actually, I didn't expect myself to survive until today.

Well, there's a way to cure your disease.

In order to untie the bell, the person who tied it is required.

You got the disease from the Star Formation.

To completely cure it, we need to focus on that.

Disciple Uncle, you're saying...?

Have you thought about looking into the Star Map and trying to find a way to cure the disease?

I've tried. But I failed.

Even if you failed, it doesn't mean this thought is wrong.

Maybe someone can find the way to cure your disease by looking into the Star Map.

Are you talking about Her Majesty?

Yes.

Her Majesty should have such ability. Also...

I won't hand over the Star Map to the Empress.

Why?

Yourong told me, during the time when Her Majesty was controlling the Star Formation,

her mentality was under the influence of the Star Formation.

She's become more and more cruel and ruthless.

The Star Map's power is too strong to control.

If she gets her hands on it, it'll make her completely crazy.

I've also noticed lately that Her Majesty acts abnormally.

Disciple Uncle, what do you think I should do

to avoid the fact that Her Majesty could be influenced by the Star Formation,

and make her normal again?

It depends on how well you understand the Star Formation and the Star Map.

If you can improve the Star Formation,

making it more stable and perfect,

preventing it from affecting the controller's mentality,

it should solve Her Majesty's problem naturally.

Improve the Star Formation?

Yes.

It's very hard.

If there's anyone in the world who can make it happen,

it'll either be Zhou Dufu, who's dead, or you.

Zhou Dufu might still be alive.

What are you talking about?

When I was in the graveyard with Yourong, we didn't find his body.

The coffin was empty.

But I can't feel his breath on this continent.

Could it be possible that he left the Central Continent?

If that's the case,

is it possible to find a way to change the fate outside of the Central Continent?

Don't think too much about things that are too far away.

Your destiny has been tied with the Star Formation the moment you were born.

If nothing else, just like the whole world,

the Star Formation will also be controlled by you in the future.

You should put more efforts on thinking about how to completely control the Star Formation.

The whole world...

Your Majesty.

I've searched the whole town but I haven't found where Qiushan Jun and Nanke.

I'm afraid they've escaped from the capital.

I will send my people to chase them on the way to the Demon Clan.

- Once I get some lead... \N - You tell me,

why did Quishan betray me?

Your Majesty, you've always been generous and kind to Qiushan.

Qiushan has always been loyal to Your Majesty, too.

Never did I imagine he would betray Your Majesty.

Are you begging me to pardon him?

That will be outrageous. I was just saying the truth.

If I had to find a reason,

it would be because of Qiushan's obsession for Yourong.

But Yourong only likes Chen Changsheng.

So Qiushan Jun got jealous because of his love and lost his mind.

Therefore, the Demon Clan took the chance and got the best of him.

Troubled by love?

Love has caused so many heroes in the world to suffer.

I'll send more people to catch Qiushan Jun. Once we get him...

You do your best. Just fulfill your duty.

Understood.

It's such a disgrace to our Zhou Empire.

What's really going on between Yourong and Changsheng?

I've checked his regulating bodily functions.

The backfire of the power seemed to have disappeared.

If that's the case, can Yourong...

Mo Yu, remember. Love is like a poisonous wine.

It gets under your skin and to your bones.

Be really careful before you try it.

I will bear Your Majesty's words in mind.

What do you think of Changsheng?

When Chen Changsheng first got into the capital,

I saw that he was from an unprivileged upbringing without any cultivation,

so he surely wouldn't be Yourong's Mr. Right.

But now, after so many things,

whether in terms of mentality or talent,

he's outstanding.

Don't mind my feelings.

Just tell the truth.

I'm telling the truth.

He's careful when handling things, and an upright man.

Yourong does have good taste.

I thought you didn't like him.

I didn't expect you would speak so highly of him.

Chen Changsheng once risked his life to save Yourong.

His cultivation and wisdom are not below any young talents'.

Judging from this aspect, he's way better than Qiushan Jun.

I did have a prejudice against him in the past, but

he has a fatal disease.

I still don't agree that he should be with Yourong.

You obviously know he's my long-lost crown prince.

How dare you to say things like this?

You're very daring.

Your Majesty, please forgive me.

I only have Your Majesty in my mind.

There's no place for the Crown Prince.

Get up.

I'm happy to hear you saying that.

You have lived up to my trust to you all these years.

Tell me. If I step in to treat Changsheng's disease,

what will happen?

I hope Your Majesty can cure him.

To save him,

I might need to use the Star Formation.

I don't have 100% of the confidence.

Your Majesty, the stability of the Star Map is about the foundation of the country.

Please be very careful when you use it.

Instead of saying Changsheng is closely linked with the Star Formation,

it's better to say you're the person who's born for the Star Formation.

I know, in your heart, the big formation is the most important thing.

My mother died for the Star Formation back in the days.

The Star Formation is like my mother's incarnation.

Every time I see it, I can feel the existence of my mother.

So I swore when I was a kid, that I would do what I could to protect it.

Yes.

I feel the same.

- Your Majesty, I have something else to inform you. \N - Tell me.

There's a mysterious organization called "the Snake Subduers."

They've been lurking in the capital for many years.

I think we have to be careful about them.

They're just like rashes. No need to worry about them.

But...

Enough. I've got it.

You can go now.

Yes.

The Star Formation.

As long as I have the Star Formation,

who can threaten my empire?

Chief, you called for me in such a hurry.

I wonder what the emergency is.

A disaster is coming to your Tianhai family.

Chief, what you said makes you a scaremonger.

Our Tianhai family is working in the royal court with overwhelming power.

Even Her Majesty is from us the Tianhai family.

What kind of disaster could befall on us?

Though Her Majesty is the most powerful person in the country, but Official Tianhai, don't forget,

it's the Zhou Empire after all.

The former emperor's family name is Chen.

Chief, what did you mean by that?

It's simple. In most people's opinion, the Chen family has the noblest bloodline in the whole country.

So, once the missing crown prince returns to Her Majesty,

what do you think is going to happen to the Tianhai family in the future?

Are you talking about Chen Changsheng?

That's right. Him.

Why should I be worried about a fugitive like him?

Do you know that His Holiness has given Her Majesty his promise,

saying he will make sure Chen Changsheng return to her side.

In other words, it's just a matter of time before they restore his identity of the crown prince.

Even with the support of His Holiness, what can a person with no foundation like him really do?

Besides, Her Majesty has been suppressing descendants of the Chen household.

How could she possibly let a Chen succeed to the throne?

Do you think Her Majesty will pass the throne onto your Tianhai family?

You're daydreaming.

Do you really believe Her Majesty knows nothing about the evil things you've done these years?

If your family name is not Tianhai,

I fear that your family would have been eliminated a long time ago.

Our Tianhai family has always conducted ourselves above board.

How could Her Majesty target at us with no reason?

Above board?

Let's assume it's above board.

Even if Her Majesty can let go of your deeds above board,

Chen Changsheng still has a ferocious hatred against your Tianhai family.

If he succeeds to the throne some day, I don't need to tell you what will happen next. Right?

I don't believe it.

I don't believe Her Majesty will put aside us the Tianhai family,

and find a Chen descendant to succeed to the throne.

Let alone he is Emperor Taizong's son.

Official Tianhai, you might as well try it out in person.

See how on earth the empress is thinking about appointing a successor.

See you later.

Appointing a successor?

Appointing a successor?

That's right. I've heard that the Demon Clan's army has been gathering.

They will march southwards soon.

Now everyone in the capital is in a panic.

They all hope the government can do something to calm them down.

Therefore, in my opinion, to stabilize the foundation of the country,

Your Majesty, please appoint a crown prince for the throne early

to comfort our people.

How well spoken of stabilizing the foundation of the country and comforting our people.

Appoint a crown prince?

You want Tianhai Ya'er to be the crown prince, do you not?

Are you overzealous to be the father of Zhou Empire's emperor?

I dare not.

You surely dared.

This empire was painstakingly earned by His Majesty.

How should you covet it?

Get lost!

This empire is mine.

If I don't want to let it go,

nobody can take it away.

Whoever dares to betray me

will pay a huge price.

We've searched everywhere we could search.

There is no trace of Second Senior Brother.

You tell me. The capital is not very big, and we still haven't found him.

Could it be possible that Second Senior Brother is...

Lock down this place!

What are you doing?

By Her Majesty's order, Qiushan Jun colluded with the Demon Clan, an unforgivable crime.

We were ordered to search Lishan Sword Sect.

Senior Sister Qijian.

Don't block them. Let them search.

- Search! \N - Yes!

Father, this is a newly made ginseng tea.

I didn't expect that Her Majesty would rage

while I just brought up appointment of the Crown Prince.

It looks like Her Majesty has no intention to make someone from the Tianhai household the crown prince.

- What should we do? \N - That's right.

When Her Majesty succeeded to the throne,

our Tianhai family had spared no effort to help her!

But now... she kicks down the ladder?!

The Empress is clearly from the Tianhai household, but she doesn't think for her own family.

So ungrateful!

Things are already like this. What can we do at this point?!

This is really something.

Over these years, our Tianhai family has made countless enemies.

If we can't succeed to the throne,

I'm afraid in the end, we'll not only lose our family business,

but also our lives!

Father, you mean...

Her Majesty's cultivation is overwhelming and unshakable.

Without one hundred percent confidence, we must not make any move.

Well, we can't do nothing, right?

How about I go contact the Snake Subduers again?

It's obvious that the head of the Snake Subduers obviously wanted to provoke me to rebel last time.

Though those mysterious folks helped us a lot over the years,

none of us are clear about what the schemes under their sleeves are.

So, if not in despair, we must not put our hope on outsiders.

You're right, Father. I was being careless.

So what should we do next?

Wait.

- Wait? \N - Yes.

Wait.

Lately, Her Majesty has become a little moody,

fatuous, and cruel.

She is no longer as wise and respectable as she was.

But we just need to escalate her status, keep her going like this.

It won't be long before

she loses the support from the people.

By that time, it'll be a golden opportunity for our Tianhai family!

- That's a great point. \N - We'll have our chance.

Father.

Why?

Why is everyone betraying me?

Because your son has taken away my beloved woman!

It was you who told me that the Dragon and Phoenix were a perfect match.

But you favored Chen Changsheng and abetted him to take Yourong away!

It was you who had cheated me!

It's Yourong's own choice.

She chose Changsheng herself.

You betrayed the Human Clan out of your personal grudges,

murdered your disciple brothers and framed the crown prince.

Everyone will kill you for your crimes!

Chen Changsheng comes from nowhere.

How could he be the Crown Prince?

This empire is the Tianhai family's.

How could you give it to the Chen royals?!

You've betrayed the Tianhai family and your surname Tianhai!

Tianhai family?

This empire was earned by me.

This empire is mine!

How much effort have I made to get this empire?

How much energy have I spent to protect it?

For this empire, I've sacrificed my biological son.

You tell me. Why should it belong to the Tianhai family? For what?

Really?

Is this empire really yours?

Zhou Dufu.

To seize the country, your husband

first sacrificed the lives of the officials of the Lingxu Pavilion,

then he killed me!

It couldn't be more shameless!

Your empire is sinister, dirty, despicable,

and full of the blood of your peers!

No. That's not true. Not true.

My Star Formation, protect me. My Star Formation, protect me!

Dead.

All dead.

The Star Formation belongs to me.

Because of the Star Formation, this empire is mine.

Nobody can betray me. Nobody can betray me!

What?

What did you say?

You need more people.

You need more people as the sacrifice.

Of course. No problem.

I can find more traitors and criminals to be sacrificed for you,

as long as... as long as you listen to me,

as long as,,, as long as you belong to me.

Listen to me.

You belong to me! Belong to me!

Although Qiushan Jun committed crimes, how can he be executed?

He doesn't know to appreciate Her Majesty.

Your Majesty, changing exile into execution isn't a good idea.

Amnesty has been used since ancient times to win people's support.

When has punishment been made heavier?

That's right, Your Majesty.

Leniency should go before stern punishments.

If there are too many killings, people's support will falter.

I've decided.

Whoever persuades will be charged with treason!

But, Your Majesty, I still think...

Anyone else disagree?

Dismissed.

Your Majesty's order is as great as Heaven.

Your Majesty's grace reaches everyone.

Official Tianhai.

- Official Tianhai. \N - Official Zhou.

What can I help you with?

Official Tianhai, last night someone secretly sent a letter accusing

the Tianhai family of smuggling ordnance and secretly hiding armor.

Nonsense!

We have very strict rules in our family and we have always been above board!

- How can we do things like that? \N - This...

I knew it was a false accusation.

So, I've ordered people to hold it back secretly.

But their statement seems to have a solid evidence.

They said that they got your ledger of smuggled weapons.

That's venomously slander!

Official Zhou, do you know the severity of this matter?

I know. I know!

Official, don't worry. I'll take care of the person and the ledger.

Thank you, Official Zhou. I will definitely show my gratitude well in the future.

Official, lately the Imperial court hasn't been tranquil.

See? Her Majesty's temper goes like that.

If Her Majesty knew this matter,

how could you survive it?

Official, although you're above board with a clear conscience,

you'd better look out for those villains' slander, right?

Official, take care. I'll get going now.

You seem a little troubled.

Sorry. I'm still thinking about Senior Brother Hanshi and Senior Brother Feibai.

If I could find Qiushan's abnormalities earlier, they'd...

I'm also very sad.

And I miss them a lot.

I know Qiushan Jun has given you a hard blow.

I don't want you to spend time with me and get distracted.

Now it's not the time to dwell on sorrow.

If we can't apprehend the Star Map, we won't be able to change your destiny.

Don't blame yourself for other people's mistakes.

I know.

Now, let's bring our minds back to the Star Map quickly.
