[Fighter of the Destiny]

[Episode 14]

Something serious has happened! Something happened.

Something serious happened. There have been many homicides in the Sacred Capital.

The people killed were all in the Qingyun standings.

The Great Empress has ordered Saintess and Qiushan Jun to investigate.

- Who did it? \N- People say...

It's the Demon Clan.

No wonder. Last time, they wanted to assassinate my master.

My master is more powerful than their people.

Of course, he's been a thorn in their sides.

Students of the Guojiao Academy are also in the Qingyun standings.

It looks like we cannot go out alone.

The Demon Clan are becoming more and more arrogant in the Sacred Capital.

The men in the Qingyun standings are the elites of our Human and Beast Clans.

How dare they target them?

No one can bully the Sacred Capital!

Your Majesty, Yourong and Qiushan Jun are already investigating.

The High Priest also ordered all the elite colleges to investigate, the results will be in soon.

You must help the High Priest, find out the case, find the murderer,

severely punish the murderer.

Yes.

Timing and Subtitles brought to you by the Subbers of the Destiny @ Viki

There are 52 students in the standings who are in the Sacred Capital.

Five are already dead.

And with the rest of the people, 27 others have already been given protection.

Six are in closed-door training for the Grand Examination.

The six students from Lishan Academy are all sticking together.

The four of us in the academy will also stick together.

Then, that leaves four students exposed!

The five dead people, were they all ambushed when they were alone?

Then who will the next one be?

Then we'll have to see who, out of the four remaining, leaves their house often.

Her Majesty is furious; we must find the murderer soon.

The High Priest has ordered all the students in the Qingyun standings to go back to their academies.

Any remaining are to get together nearby in the biggest academy, in case they get ambushed while they are alone.

I have checked the murder scene. They were ambushed by many enemies.

Further, they were all experts.

As long as the people in the standings stay together, there should not be any threat.

Then you're saying, the people we should investigate...

are not the students living at the colleges.

All right, then where should we start investigating?

Huo Guang.

Huo Guang? Heaven's Courtyard?

He has a good opinion of himself. I guess he would not care about those assassinations.

Then let's start with him.

Amongst these academies, it's the Guojiao Academy that is the most vulnerable.

Shall we ask the High Priest to send more men to protect them?

Luo Luo is there. There shouldn't be any problem.

Wow, you're really optimistic. Are you not worried about Cheng Changsheng?

I didn't mean that...

I understand. We grew up together, so some things aren't necessary for you to explain.

Judging from the murder scene, there must have been a fight. It looks like Huo Guang was chased here and killed.

Detestable... Why is it like that?

We should report this to the Great Empress and the High Priest.

They must already have heard about this.

Someone's coming.

Huo Guang!

Why was Huo Guang found dead in front of your academy?

As it turns out, you are all the killers.

Hey! Watch what you are saying.

We also just found out about Huo Guang as well.

Exactly! When we opened the door, we found him laying down here.

Even if you're a princess you cannot protect a murderer.

Hey! A person is dead, regardless of what you say!

Are you all blind? Do you have any proof? Don't speak such nonsense.

I have nothing to say to a traitor of the Tiandao Academy. It must have been you who killed him.

You all weren't friends with Huo Guang.

Then, why is he laying dead in front of this school?

They're the most suspicious ones!

Yes!

Tie them up! Take them to the headmaster.

Now let's see who is brave enough to touch even one hair on my teacher!

The innocent have nothing to fear. I'll go with you to the headmaster's.

So you all originally wanted to take a look at Huo Guang's house?

Yes.

Jiao Zhong, we have no intention of killing anyone.

Huo Guang came to Chen Changsheng's academy to challenge him.

But was rejected by him.

It seems like they had a motive in the beginning.

Rejecting a challenge is motive for murder, too?

All right, then I will challenge you.

- What is he doing? \N- This is important.

I don't want to mess around.

See? See? Do you see it?

You don't want to take it up? Don't you want to kill me?

Don't be a bully.

Sir Jiao Zhong, he's so angry, can't you see? He has more of a reason and more anger to kill people!

Hurry and lock him up!

- Tang Tang. \N- Look at his haughty expression.

Are you the judge, or am I?

Headmaster, Thirty-Six is just discussing the matter.

Also, my teacher really didn't do it.

Huo Guang was wooing Princess Luo Luo. It must be because of Princess Luo Luo that Senior Chen took his anger out on him and killed him.

I'm saying that you are crazy. Where did you see him trying to woo me?

He asked Princess Luo Luo out to eat so many times, but she always rejected him and left with Senior Chen.

Then it would be him who had motive to kill my teacher!

Everyone can see!

I did not kill anyone.

Without evidence, you can't convict someone at will.

I've already asked someone to examine the murder weapon. Tomorrow, I'll tell everyone my verdict.

- Headmaster! \N- Headmaster!

Everyone go home, please.

Let's go.

The result of the examination of the murder weapon has been released.

This murder weapon doesn't belong to any school.

The murderer obviously premeditated this, and concealed his scent ahead of time.

This murder weapon's forging was extremely precise.

In the whole nation, only the Wenshui Tang family could create a weapon like this.

My family?

That's impossible.

I said this matter had to do with the Guojiao Academy.

Have you verified that it's from the Tang family?

I'm still investigating.

This is a serious matter. Investigate carefully.

Yes, sir.

It was premeditated. What does it have to do with Tiandao?

Since it's just a suspicion, Senior Chen can return to the Guojiao Academy for now.

Without permission, he isn't allowed to leave the holy city.

Yes, sir, Headmaster.

You two! Stop! Don't hit me!

Stop fighting! I'm begging you!

Stop fighting!

The Tangs should stay in Wenshui and do their business.

They had to come to the Sacred Capital to make money!

Where shall our own Tianhai do business then?

What made the Sacred Capital a good place?

Master! Master!

- Move out of the way!\N - Stop fighting!

Young Master.

Spread the word! It was the Demon Clan that killed him to silence him, so they then hurt Lord Tang.

Yes, Young Master.

Let's go.

Dad.

Dad, how are you feeling?

I am fine.

Exactly, who was this out of control?

This matter is very suspicious.

Dad, I will find the culprit.

Tang'er, please don't give me any more worries!

I just want to thank you for your concern.

Dad, just focus on recovering.

I will successfully deal with the Tang family business.

You had been a carefree spirit since you were young.

But how much have you learned about a successful business?

Hai'er is someone who I adopted.

But in these so many years, you have seen it.

He has indeed put so much effort into our Tang business.

If you continue to disobey,

it's better for you to go out and be carefree.

I am unable to control you.

Answer me.

Are you going back to Tiandao Academy or not?

How does this relate to our Tang family business?

Of course, they are related.

Look at you. You are constantly fooling around with a wild boy.

How can I be at rest to pass down such a large business to you?

I am unable to control you,

unable to control you.

Leave.

You can leave.

Tell all the chain stores to close for now.

Understood.

Send our injured workers back to Wenshui.

Find the best doctors to treat them and increase their salary by ten times.

Understood.

The store was not destroyed, continue on with our business.

In case the attackers are back, place more guards there for both day and night.

Understood.

Double the guards for the house yard.

That already has been taken care for both day and night.

Okay. Everyone has worked hard in these past few days.

- You may all attend to your duties. \N - Understood.

Older Brother.

Older Brother!

I hope you will not continue to mess around

and create more trouble for our father.

My teacher hasn't killed anyone. Why are you taking him away?

The High Priest does not believe there is anything wrong with Chen Changsheng.

It's just that there is pressure from the various academies. The High Priest must do something.

I understand.

I trust that the High Priest will not harm me.

- But even so, you cannot go! \N -That's right!

Mister, you cannot go!

It's all right. Thirty-Six's family suffered because of that.

If by taking me can ease anger, then that’s better.

Inevitably, the truth will come out! Meanwhile, I am just sleeping in a different place.

Then why do you have to take my teacher? Can’t it be others?

Exactly.

You two can come visit me.

I will leave Goujiao Academy to you two.

Take care of yourselves.

We shall leave now.

Luo Luo.

It's all right.

- Teacher! \N- Mister.

Teacher... Teacher...

Your Majesty, all the Tang's chain stores are closed for now.

Many of their workers are badly injured.

Tell both parties to stop the conflicts.

Yes.

Your Majesty, the Saintess requests an audience.

Greetings, Your Majesty.

Yourong, are you here because of the Huo Guang case?

THe Huo Guang case has some obvious doubtful points.

Chen Changsheng could not be the murderer. I'm hoping Your Majesty can consider that.

This case has involved a lot of people. It also has the court's total attention. It's a murder case. I cannot step in at will.

Changsheng got set up.

Yourong, can you deal with it without personal judgment?

I can definitely deal with it.

I trust Chen Changsheng. He's an honest man.

Yourong, this world is fair.

Whenever you gain something, you will lose something.

When you have completed the righteous cause, in the future, you will inherit the big formation.

You will receive the most formidable force in this world.

But you're not allowed to fall in love.

Otherwise, everything will backfire.

Are you prepared for the consequences?

I'm aware of that.

I just don't want to see my innocent childhood friend die.

As long as you remember what you said, that will suffice.

You're dismissed.

Yourong, I know you don't want to see that Chen Changsheng wronged. But listen to my advice.

Since you've decided you will sacrifice yourself for the Big Cause, by all means, don't look after this issue anymore.

I understand your good intention.

But I can't just watch Changsheng get killed.

The truth will speak for the innocent. Her Majesty will definitely show mercy.

I trust Her Majesty,

but Chen Changsheng had offended Tianhai Yai'er.

If the Tianhais want to take revenge on Chen Changsheng,

who knows what Her Majesty will do with that.

You know Her Majesty originated from the Tianhai,

this is something you shouldn't get involved with.

I won't meddle.

As long as I find evidence, I will help Chen Changsheng clear his name.

Your Majesty, Yourong has left.

Did she say anything?

I have advised her to stop.

But she is so stubborn,

she’s going to find evidence to clear Chen Changsheng name.

Chen Changsheng cannot be the murderer.

But what Yourong is doing might indeed hinder her achieving cultivation.

It looks like this Chen Changsheng is incredible.

Your Majesty, Yourong is also worried that Lord Ya'er will also hurt Chen Changsheng.

After all, young Lord Ya'er had conflicts with the Guojiao Academy before.

Deliver this Imperial order. Tianhai Ya'er will supervise Chen Changsheng's case.

Yes.

I hope Yourong will, one day, understand my painstaking effort.

Your Majesty is always doing good for Yourong.

One day, Yourong will surely understand.

Hmm...

[Zhou Tong, Chief of the Official Crime Department]\NYou are Chen Changsheng?

Sir, you are...?

I'm officer Zhou Tong. The head of the Official Crime Department.

Her Majesty has ordered me to investigate the Qingyun Standings serial killer case.

So you are the well-known Officer Zhou!

According to legend, the Red Robe has a formidable legal power, with no equal.

They are Officer's Zhou unique specialties.

Those are just rumors.

For those ordinary prisoners, it's more than enough!

I still hope that Your Excellency will find the truth and clear my name.

The officer has to follow orders also.

Changsheng, the court has its laws.

A little later, you might have to suffer a little pain.

So, show some tolerance.

This is natural, but Changsheng did not kill anyone.

I hope Your Excellency can distinguish right from wrong!

Whether you did or didn't commit murder,

it's not for you to say!

Whether you did or didn't commit murder, I'm the one who's investigating!

Nobody can hide the truth in my place,

and nobody can quibble either. Do you believe that?

I didn't kill anyone.

What did he say? I didn't hear that clearly.

Let him speak properly.

The Soul-Refining Whip.

You have some knowledge.

The Soul-Refining Whip specifically attacks your immortal wisdom.

The greater your immortal wisdom is, the more deeply you will suffer. Got it?

Chen Changsheng, actually your name isn't given well.

Changsheng (long life)? In my place,

the longer time drags, the more it will become a living hell.

How's that? Are you courageous enough?

Do you want to confess now?

- I didn't kill anyone! \N- Okay!

I like your persistence.

Hit him!

Lord Ya'er, Chen Changsheng that fellow is too weak.

He did not endure more than four whippings; after this, he passed out.

Just four whips?

Here's what I think.

If we beat him to death too quickly, it will be pointless!

That's true.

Do not kill him yet. Let's entertain ourselves with him for awhile.

Yes.

Take it to buy alcohol.

Don't worry, Lord Ya'er. Your matter is Zhou Tong's matter.

This matter I will definitely do it well.

Chen Changsheng, someone's here to see you.

Are you okay?

It's just the prison. I'm fine.

Zhou Tong is the head of the prison. Is he making anything difficult for you?

He doesn't dare do anything. Don't worry.

How is it like outside?

Ever since you've been kept here, all the killings outside have stopped.

That will make people more suspicious of me.

All the people who can think for themselves will know this is all a set up.

If it really was like that, then that's good.

I'm just afraid some people are pretending to be ignorant.

Don't worry.

I will definitely find proof to release you.

Thank you for believing me.

You definitely can.

No matter what, I will always trust you.

- Until I...\N- You trusting me...

is enough.

Uncle Jin, you must think of a way to save Teacher.

I can't. This time it's a serial killer case; it's not going to be that easy.

My teacher couldn't possibly have killed someone.

I obviously know that.

Humans have their own laws. We cannot intervene.

That's because they don't listen to reason. I'm going to find the Empress!

You can't,

Your Highness. In the past Emperor Bai and the Great Empress made a promise.

That Humans and Beasts will live in peace.

They cannot intervene in each others state issues.

Also, you're Chen Changsheng's disciple.

You are biased, no one will believe your word.

Then what do I do? I can't do this or that. So many rules!

My teacher is still in jail. I'm worried about him.

I want to see him.

Your Highness, the fighting is at its fiercest right now.

If you go see him, and let people spread the rumor that the Beast Clan supports the Demon Clan with spies,

- for everyone...\N- I'll go secretly.

I'm asking Your Highness to place great importance on the Beast Clan's reputation.

Fine. I won't go then.

Teacher!

Teacher.

Luo Luo, you wasted your thousand-li button again.

Teacher, while you weren't at the Guojiao Academy,

everyone thinks of you.

Without you, the Guojiao Academy is so cold and lonely.

Stop crying.

Aren't I fine?

What have they done to you?

Why are you covered in sweat? Did they hurt you?

I'm fine.

Is the Guojiao Academy all right?

How is Tang Thirty-Six's family?

The head of the Tang family seems to still be in a coma.

I've heard the sword that struck him was from the Demon Clan.

Doesn't that prove

that the Tang family and the Demon clan aren't working together?

But after this news spread, everyone said the Tang family and the Demon Clan were bickering,

and they say the Demon Clan did this because they wanted to shut him up.

I didn't think it would affect Thirty-Six.

I hope his father is okay.

Teacher, just bear with it for a few more days. Only a few more days.

I will immediately go find Sister Xu. We'll definitely find the real culprit and save you.

Young Master.

Young Master Tang, you're here.

Uncle Qun, let me see this month's daily expense accounts.

Young Master Tang, these daily expense accounts are always checked at the end of the month.

Isn't it too early? The numbers might not be right.

Then give me last month's.

Last month's was handed over to the chief accountant's office a long time ago.

Doesn't every store have a copy of the account books?

Yes, yes. But this...

Young Master Tang, you haven't received the family's permission. We really can't.

Uncle Qun, you count as one of the elders of the Tang family, too.

I don't believe you're not clear on the current situation.

That shocking Qingyun standings murder case is pointing towards us, the Tangs, as the maker of the murder weapon.

If we cannot clear our name, it will be difficult to preserve our name.

At that point, will you still not give me the account book?

Please don't make it difficult for us servants.

Only if Lord Tang gives us the order can we give you the account book.

- Otherwise...\N- I just cannot understand how you can be so reckless!

That's why I hate this family business.

Young Master, goodbye.

- Chen Changsheng is a murderer!\N- Chen Changsheng is a murderer!

- Close the Guojiao Academy!\N- Close the Guojiao Academy.

- Get out of Shendu!\N- Get out of Shendu!

My teacher isn't a murderer! We're innocent!

Chen Changsheng murdered them without scruples.

What are you saying!

Get out of Shendu! Get out of Shendu!

What's going on?

Why are you back? Did you deal with your family issues?

There's no clue, so I came back to see if I can find something here.

Get out of Shendu!

Tang Thirty-Six, the murderer's weapon was from your family.

You still dare say he wasn't the murderer?

Get out of Shendu!

Everyone be quiet.

Your Highness isn't hurt?

The case of the Qingyun standings murder is not solved yet.

Her Majesty's order is that no-one is to stay around the Guojiao Academy.

For those who have lost a family or friend, we will forget it this time.

If it happens again, I will punish them severely.

Go home all of you. Her Majesty will give you an explanation.

Your Highness, Her Majesty asked me to take you into the official residence for a few days.

I won't go. I will stay here to look for evidence to save my teacher.

Her Majesty and His Holiness are already investigating this case.

- Don't worry! They will surely find him innocent.\N- No!

I will stay here and protect the Guojiao Academy for my teacher.

Okay, then. I will go and report back to Her Majesty.

Then, take good care of yourself.

Okay!

Lady Mo!

Can you for just this time lend me the murder weapon you've collected?

Since they are saying it's made by the Tang, I want to pursue this clue.

I cannot disclose the case nor lend the murder weapon to any outsider.

I just want to clear our Tang's family name, and also clear Changsheng's name.

You once said I'm a lazy child. For once, can you give me a chance to prove myself?

Come to see me at the Palace this afternoon. I'll take you to see the murder weapon.

This is great! Now, Chen Changsheng is the scapegoat.

This is the Human Clan. Stupid, suspicious, no mutual trust.

Do we then need to continue killing the elites?

They are already in a mess.

We've met our objectives.

There's no need to waste any more effort.

That's right!

We can now sit and enjoy the show!

The top priority is to send more men to the Guojiao Academy to find the key to the Zhou Garden.

Yes!

Search the place.

- Nothing!\N- Nothing here either.

Evacuate.

Report! We did not find it.

The Chief Counsellor believes the key is here.

We must have missed something. Continue searching!

Yes!

You go check there.

Did you know what I'm capable of?

Let me tell you. This is just the appetizer. The best part is still to come.

See how I'm going to sort you out!

Changsheng's formation is not bad!

Thirty-Six, what are trying to do?

What is this? This is...

What have you invented this time?

Who are they?

This... Why did you all move?

Thirty-Six!

Wait a moment. I will save you. Wait.

Are you okay?

What... What kind of formation is this? I couldn't get out.

Changsheng, that fool, is always studying this stuff.

I can see it now. They seem harmless on the ouside.

But in reality, it's the most malicious thing!

Okay, okay.

I have a solution.

Look. Once I count to three, open the restriction.

Okay.

One, two, three!

What kind of situation is this?!

Get up.

- Are you okay? \N - I am fine.

Do you know what kind of people barged into the academy?

- I... \N - These kinds of things need wisdom. Leave it to me.

I have found the truth.

I did a thorough examination of the dagger. It has the Demon Clan's mark on it.

Demon's Clan?

What are they doing here?

Your Highness.

Are you guys okay?

We are okay!

- He's not fine. \N - I am okay!

The teacher's bedroom is in a mess.

It seems like someone is searching for something.

This must be the Demon Clan's conspiracy.

Did they come here to steal something?

You're crazy! What is there to steal from the Guojiao Academy?

Tomorrow, I will ask the master.

Okay!

Yourong.

What is this?

This is the archive of the Huo Guang case and other cases of assassination.

I brought them from the Ministry of Penalty.

After I read them carefully, I found something very suspicious.

All the witnesses heard the sound of night watches.

That means, when that happened, the night patrol was passing by.

We are not sure what they saw.

Night patrol?

Yes!

Lord Ya'er, a night patrol just came to say he saw what happened when Huo Guang was murdered.

I told him to wait a bit. What did you want to do?

What did the night patrol say?

He said that Chen Changsheng arrived after Huo Guang was killed.

He is saying the murderer is not Chen Changsheng?

The murderer can be anyone you want!

I'm scared he might say something that messes up your plan.

How shall we deal with him?

First, let's lock him up!

Wait till after I've dealt with Chen Changsheng!

Okay. Don't worry!

I'll take good care of this matter.

Take good care of it. You will be well-rewarded after.

Thank you, Lord.

- Off you go!\N- Yes.

Chen Changsheng!

Are you Kang Wei?

I am Kang Wei. I greet you, Saintess.

I want to ask you something. The day Huo Guang died, did you hear or see anything while working?

That day my stomach hurt. I switched shifts with Li Shan.

Where is this Li Shan?

Li Shan? I didn't see him yesterday. I don't know where he went.

Oh, right. He asked me a few days ago where the Ministry of Justice was.

Okay. Thank you.

You're welcome.

Junior Sister!

Brother Qiushan.

Are you okay? Your facial complexion does not look well.

I am fine. I apologize,

I have to leave you alone to find the key of Zhou Garden.

Being so polite towards me is regarding me as an outsider.

Is the case going well?

I thought I had a clue but now it's gone.

If you need any help, just tell me.

I came back this time specially to see you. I'm leaving in a while.

Yes.

Yourong, the case, investigate it quietly.

The Great Empress must not know about it.

Thank you, Qiushan Jun.

No need to thank me.

Some families want our Tang family to fall.

- While you are outside...\N- Yo!

A family reunion?

I chose the right moment!

Who is the head?

You?

Older Brother! What a rare guest. Please, sit down.

Stop pretending.

Speaking of that, our Tang family was deceived. Father was hurt.

Everything is related to this murder case.

If you were still in Tiandao Academy, maybe none of this would have happened to the Tang family.

Show your evidence or stop telling stories.

You and Chen Changsheng are close.

You did not make weapons for him, is that so?

Our family and our assets would be in danger if so.

Older Brother, think well before acting.

Who started spreading this?

Am I that careless and foolish?

Anyway, I'm looking for the source of the weapons.

Some of you should be careful.

All right, Older brother. I wish you to find it soon.

Do not bring more troubles to the Tang family.

Young Master, are you looking for me?

I discovered that every year weapons are destroyed. They are not defective.

Why destroy them?

And when they are destroyed, where does the material left go next?

Young Master, I'm just an accountant in charge of keeping books.

How would I know this kind of stuff?

You can leave now.

Young Master Tang summoned me today.

If he discovers the truth,

what should we do?

Do not worry. He won't find anything.

Young Master Hai, I think that the agreement with the Demon Clan cannot last for a long time.

Destroy the evidence. I promise you'll be safe.

Thank you. Thank you, Young Master Hai.

But... I still want to stop.

I have to take care of my family. What if...

You are right. You are right.

It is something risky.

The Tang family does not want you to be in danger.

How about this? You stay out of this.

I will take care of everything.

Thank you, Young Master Hai.

No need to thank me. I do what I have to do.

You can leave now.
