[Fighter of the Destiny]

[Episode 6]

Yourong, the Empress was worried about your injury so she sent some Mingyu pills. How are you feeling?

I'm already better now. Mo Yu, I have something to ask you about.

Sure. What is it?

The Empress said all the survivors of the Zhou Garden have passed away.

Do you know all the details about this situation?

Not completely.

Back then, there were some corpses that were not found.

However, nobody has seen them afterwards either.

It could be that their bodies were destroyed in the past.

Do you know the identities of these people?

Maybe some of them are still alive.

I'll go look into it, and have someone send you the details.

Yourong...

We don't have any secrets between us, just say it.

Actually, I have a question for you.

When you were young, did your grandfather engage you to someone?

That did happen.

Then, is that person called Chen Changsheng?

You've seen him?

Yes, a couple times.

But I feel that this person doesn't have good intentions.

He may not match up to you.

He even took the Beast Clan Princess Bai Luoheng as his disciple.

This Beast Clan princess is extremely spoiled.

Yet, he managed to get her to listen to him.

Not only was the wall between their living quarters taken down,

this princess even gave him precious medicine

to eat as a snack! They seem very intimate.

What do their matters have to do with me?

That's good. You have the bloodline of the Heavenly Phoenix,

and are so noble. The only match for you...

is the one with the Heavenly Dragon bloodline.

But, in the entire world, there is only Qiushan Jun.

Whether it be his bloodline or his martial arts, only he is a match for you.

Mo Yu, I've never dwelt on these matters.

I know that you have your heart set on the Great Dao,

and do not care for the relationships between people.

But people were born to love.

Eventually, you must chose your significant other to spend your life with. Right?

Since I was five, I was sent to Shengnu Mountain for cultivation.

The thing I was to let go of was love.

Otherwise, it was hard to learn Dao.

Yourong!

It doesn't mater whether it's senior brother Qiushan Jun, or the one with the engagement letter, Chen Changsheng,

Yourong's heart is already calm and will not be moved by them.

Just like this Wu sword and Gu holder given to me by the Empress.

Wu (my) Sword, Gu (lonely) holder.

It could be that loneliness is my life's story.

♫ Your image is engraved in my heartbeats ♫

♫ The pen marks are rippled by deep affections ♫

♫ The orbit of yearning is clearer ♫

♫ whether or not you're being pulled by it. ♫

♫ The familiar breaths stop in our memories ♫

♫ I think about you every second. My wish to see you. ♫

♫ The feeling of missing you is becoming clearer in shape bit by bit ♫

♫ It brings the time of lives together ♫

- The beauty of the past belongs in the past. \N ♫ The certainty in your eyes has given me the courage ♫

- Now I have my responsibilities and you have your aspirations.\N ♫ and has resolved all the difficulties ♫

- Let's leave it to destiny. \N ♫ Our love is destined ♫

♫ No matter what happens, we are fated to meet each other ♫

♫ I hope we can have many beautiful dreams together ♫

♫ The love is fated to meet, it's like the stars united ♫

♫ to accompany you soaring in the galaxy ♫

Rong'er!

♫ My mission in life is using love to choose an ending ♫

♫ until both our hairs turn grey, even if I can't clearly see ♫

♫ this beautiful love ♫

Henceforth, we are strangers. Take care.

♫ The heavens determine the future. Let the future decide ♫

♫ I've collected all the fortunes to store in your fate ♫

♫ If we reunite, and you're no longer yourself, ♫

♫ I will still fall in love with you. ♫

- Rong'er, if you are doing well then I will be at peace. \N♫ Love is fated to meet. ♫

Thirty-Six. Thirty-Six! What are you doing?

What? You're having difficulties cultivating again? Work hard by yourself then.

- I'll go find Changsheng.\N- Hey! Wait a moment.

Mister is currently studying. The Ivy Banquet is about to start.

Mister is working really hard right now, and cannot be distracted for even a moment!

Success doesn't come from hard work, but from genius.

It's hard for an untalented person to succeed.

But Chengsheng is different. He is very talented, no matter what he does.

He only needs to put in a little bit of effort and will naturally succeed.

Relax! On the night of the Ivy Banquet, he will definitely shock everyone.

Work hard!

Talent?

That's weird. The books here are arranged in such a peculiar way.

Woah! You can read a thousand lines with just a glance?

Do you have to be so exaggerated? You're not trying to scare me, are you?

What do you think?

Thar's true. I actually noticed it during the Tiandao Academy test.

You've got so much scriptural knowledge, it's ridiculous.

How about you teach me how to do this? Then I won't have to study for any more tests in the future.

It's an innate talent; can't be taught.

Huh, inherited power.

If I had it, too, I'd be able to get first on the Qingyun Proclamation.

Inherited power can be a great gift for someone,

but can also contain flaws.

When practicing cultivation, Luo Luo and the Beast Clan will encounter many sorts of bottlenecks.

Though my scriptural knowledge is broad,

my cultivation is ten times harder to practice than the average person.

Well, then, I'll just continue being a normal person then.

What are you reading?

I'm trying to see if there's any method to help Luo Luo and the others resolve their meridian problem.

You care so much about Luo Luo, hmm?

Not just Luo Luo, Xuan Yuan Po has the same problem.

The Beast Clan have less meridians than humans. Even though they are very strong,

as soon as they are injured, it is difficult for them to heal.

Looks like the Demon Clan is really planning to revolt.

Ever since you consecutively killed three Demon Clan members, the assassins have ceased action for a while.

Now that they've started again, it could be that they have some other motives.

Could their true purpose be the Zhou Garden?

We must be prepared, they never stop looking for the key to the Zhou Garden.

Mo Yu gave me the names of the people involved with the Zhou Garden back then.

I'm about to go look into a crucial character.

Don't worry, I can deal with the Demon Clan alone.

I will be at your side, protecting you from the Demon Clan.

It certainly feels bad to have your bone marrow being eaten by 10,000 ants.

You just need to tell me where the survivors of the Zhou Garden are.

I will relieve you of your pain.

You don't need to keep asking.

Yeshi Hulan was the only survivor and the person who took him away was you.

Nonsense!

Yeshi Hulan is the crucial person both Demon and Human Clans are looking for.

You were with him all the time.

Of course, the person most likely to spill the secret is also you.

You want to hide this from the world?

Xuan Youzi, as a member of the Demon Clan,

you hid the only survivor of the Zhou Garden.

You want to take all the secrets of Zhou Garden for yourself!

You know too much!

I'm still a moment too late.

It must be the cultprit's handprint.

It's you! What a coincidence. How's your injury?

It's already better. What are you doing here?

I'm picking medicinal herbs. What about you?

I'm chasing after someone.

This person sounds very important. Do you need any help?

No need.

Then I'll let you continue on your way. We'll meet again if fate permits.

Yes. Goodbye.

Miss, aren't you searching for someone? Why are you back again?

I don't really know either. I was just wandering, and ended up here again.

It seems that we are destined to cross paths again.

My compass suddenly stopped working.

Miss, you compass is like these herbs here.

There functions change according to the weather

and environment around them.

You seem to know a lot about herbs.

Just a bit.

Then if we meet again, you can tell me a bit more about herbs.

Absolutely.

Then I'll leave first.

Oh no! I didn't bring an umbrella. I still have so many herbs to pick.

And here I thought the rain had stopped. It turns out that it's because you're here.

Sometimes people will have misconceptions. I thought I walked quite a distance.

Even after I thought I had walked a long way, it turns out that I've returned to the same place.

We've met three times in a single day. Perhaps Young Miss would like to hear a bit about herbs?

Sure.

Look at this.

This is immortal root. It's very good for you if you eat it.

It is said, if you eat lots of it you can become immortal.

That's got to be a lie. No matter how high a level you cultivate,

you can only reach deity level. It's impossible to become immortal.

Miss, what are you being so serious for?

It's just a legend; of course, it'll be exaggerated.

Look, there's another one.

This herb is called Nanmingzi.

Do you know why it's called Nanmingzi?

This plant is hermaphroditic. (both male and female).

The one facing south is called Nan (south) Ming (bright) Zi.

The one facing north is called?

Bei (north) Ming (Bright) Zi?

It's actually called Bei (north) An (dark) Zi.

Look, the sun shines on the south side but not the north.

So how can both sides be bright?

This herb isn't good.

Why?

Because, even though the two sides grew up together,

one side to the north, the other to south, one bright and the other dark, they are always opposites.

Now that you mentioned it, that is true.

But no matter what, they are destined to live and die together.

Isn't it just a herb? Why are you talking about life and death for?

It makes people feel sad.

You're actually pretty interesting.

I'm thinking, just now,

you were saying so much about the herbs, could it be you just made it all up?

How could that be? I wouldn't do that.

Did you learn medicine to save people?

Of course!

When I took up sword fighting, it was also to save people.

Then I found out, it doesn't seem to be quite like what I thought.

Miss, sometimes, it isn't because our initial decision was wrong,

it's just that when we made our choice, we didn't know that there were better options.

But some people, have no choices.

They never had any.

That's true. But right now, we can make our own choice.

I chose to pick this.

What flower is this?

This is called Weili Dingxiang. You can only see it on rainy days. It's also known as worry-free grass.

This flower is very pretty,

but it can only bloom on rainy days. What a shame.

Not really. Look!

How beautiful!

There's so many worry-free grass here. No matter how many burdens you have, they should have gone away.

I'll give this to you.

Thanks!

Shendu is up ahead. We can part ways here.

Right, I haven't told you my name yet.

I'm called Chen Changsheng, student of Guojiao Academy.

Chen Changsheng?

Look.

That was where we were picking medicinal herbs earlier.

- Junior Sister.\N- Senior Brother, enjoying your tea!

Please take a seat.

You didn't just invite me here just to drink tea, did you?

Yourong, lately there's been a lot of Demon activities.

I think that all of our movements are all under their surveillance.

So what? We'll take care of them when the time comes.

You are always so calm.

No wonder the Empress says you are the first person in Da Zhou to pass through the secluded state.

But I can't be compared to Senior Brother's heroism.

To stop the Demon rebels and bring peace

that is called heroism.

Junior Sister, look.

It's rare to see a rainbow in the sky.

Junior Sister seems to be in a pretty good mood.

Really?

I have visited you seventy-seven times this year.

This is the first time I've seen you smile so happily.

It's probably because today I saw a very beautiful scene.

Since you've already forgotten me,

why did you show up in front of me again?

"Life began when we first met." I hope

we can stay at the time when we first met.

Your Highness! Your Highness!

Your Highness.

Didn't Mister already tell you?

You can't practice until your meridian problem is fixed.

- I'm fine.\N- You're fine?

You're already spitting blood and you think you're fine?

Eat this medicine.

- Where did you get this? \N - Turn.

No.

I am telling you that I brought this at the Turn shop in the market.

Is it the place that sells second-hand goods?

Right. When I went, I found out there was a lot of incredible medicine there.

Just like this one, it specializes in replenishing your blood.

You need to eat more. Everyday take one. Guaranteed you'll be better.

It's okay. I don't need it.

It's fine as long as you don't tell Master about me spitting up blood.

- But...\N- But what?

I'm your master so you have to listen to me.

But it's too late.

Give me your hand.

Master, are you angry?

Why didn't you listen?

No, it's because...

Mister, you don't know. After you took her in as your disciple, people outside are all saying this and that, this and that.

- Xuanyuan!\N- What are they saying?

They are saying... that you...

They say I'm a con man.

I do not know how to solve the meridian problem of the Beast Clan. Right?

Right.

Master, don't listen to Xuanyuan Po.

I don't care what other people say.

It's fine.

Why do you have to practise cultivation?

We have to attend the Ivy Banquet.

At that time, I need to live up to the Guojiao Academy's name.

If you want to live up to expectations, please don't injure yourself.

As for the Beast Clan's meridian problem, I will think about that later.

Before that, don't push yourself too hard. Okay?

Promise?

Promise.

There's no Shousanjiao meridian,

nor Xiaochang meridian.

The Beast Clan's meridian problem is so complicated.

You can come out now.

Master, have you thought it out?

I've read many ancient books. They all say that the meridians of the Beast Clan are different from those of the Humans.

It is impossible to practice the Human's cultivation.

My father and the Empress said the same thing.

They said it's the destiny of the Beast Clan, but I don't believe it.

I also don't believe it.

Nothing in the world can't be changed.

Exactly. I believe in Master's words.

If we don't try,

why should we give up?

This is the medicine you refined!

The appearance is good.

There's also elasticity.

Are you sure it's not a fish ball?

Even if it were a fish ball, it's not for you to eat.

I refined it especially for the Beast Clan.

Then that's good.

Even if you paid me, I wouldn't eat it.

Who knows what you put in it!

What rubbish are you saying?

Teacher collected so many different herbs. This medicine must be good for the Beast Clan meridian problem.

Exactly!

Move aside.

Master spent so long researching this thing, how could we let you eat it?

Of course, I should be the first one to try it. Right?

Eh, wait!

Your highness, something so dangerous, you should leave it to me.

Okay.

Eat it.

Hurry up.

Here.

Wait a second.

Mister, are you thinking this is still missing something and can't be eaten yet?

No, I just want to pour you a cup of tea.

I'm afraid you'll choke.

Eat up.

Don't speak too soon. It's smooth, tender, and soft.

Tastes really fresh, too!

You see?

I told you I'm knowledgeable!

See I didn't even have to eat it to know it would taste good.

Hey! How is it? Any feeling in your meridians?

I feel... quite warm.

But it's quite comfortable.

Warm is right, that means this medicine is effective.

Why do I feel hotter and hotter?

Hotter?

Give him water, Master.

Here.

Why am I so hot?

So hot.

It's not receding.

I don't feel good.

Is there something wrong with the medicine?

Thirty-Six. Teacher, this... this...

So hot, so hot, hot.

The problem with the Beast Clan meridian is not as easy as you think.

No one has been able to solve it over thousands of years!

How is it possible to solve it with one single pill?

My master isn't like other people.

He's so capable; he must have a solution.

Is it the way I refined the medicine that is not right?

No.

I need to find an expert in alchemy to help me.

Actually, there is such an expert, but he is not Human.

Not a person?

Right, there's a Beast Clan alchemist who lives near Shendu City.

His name is Xuan Youzi!

He is a talented alchemist.

For over a decade, he's been living in seclusion at the Lanyou Grounds at the top of Lan Mountain.

Lanyou Grounds! It was recorded in the book

that the Lan Mountain is near the stars.

It combines the power of the sun and the moon. This brings life to all living things.

Changsheng, what do you want to do?

It's a stone of a mountain, it can attack a jade.\N(Use external force to change your own lack of).

It doesn't matter whether he's Beast or Demon. As long as he is an alchemist, it's worth meeting with him.

The beggar you saw last time, I asked the coroner to investigate.

I found this in his body.

It's exactly what I thought.

It's really strange.

This is a blood toad.

Once it's in the body, it will control that person's brain.

So he will lose all thoughts and only follow orders.

Are there a lot of people who know how to make use of the blood toad?

As far as I know, there is only one person near Shendu City who knows this trick.

Who?

His name is Xuan Youzi. He is an alchemist of the Beast Clan.

He once vowed

that he would solve the Beast Clan meridian problem himself.

But in the end, he was laughed at by people.

Since then, he rarely associates with Humans.

He's always by himself,

and a very secretive person.

Then where is he now?

Failure.

It failed again.

Without Zhou Dufu's alchemy furnace,

how can I make the impossible medicine?

Who is it?

The Enforcer, you don't even greet me on my arrival?

After infiltrating the Beasts for so many years, have you forgotten Demon etiquette?

Greetings, General.

Have you come now because of that person?

Correct. These years, there hasn't been any news from you.

Until now, have you been unable to pry open the mouth of the Zhou Garden survivor that we captured back then?

I'm incapable.

I've used all my methods to torture him, but I have gotten nothing.

As long as you can get information about the key's location,

I will give you Zhou Dufu's alchemy furnace.

What do you say?

Using this alchemy furnace to create pills, should be your greatest wish. Right?

Thank you, General! Your subordinate will spare no effort.

The Human Clan is also searching for the key.

This person is extremely important.

You must act cautiously. Don't expose yourself.

Is someone there?

What is the Human Clan's saint doing here?

Could she also be here for Zhou Garden's key?

Perfect. She has the Phoenix bloodline.

The perfect ingredient for pill making.

Chujian (first meeting) Miss!

I didn't think we'd meet again so quickly.

What are you doing here?

I'm looking for Xuan Youzi who lives here in seclusion.

I have some questions about pill making to ask him.

What about you?

I have questions for him, too.

"Know the destiny! Know the root."

"Forget the cause. Block the entrance."

What does that mean?

It seems to be the method for pill making.

Pill making?

Is anyone home?

This pill furnace seems a bit strange.

Miss!

Chujian Miss!

The ground is unstable. The smell of gold is everywhere.

Am I stuck in the world inside the pill furnace?

That's correct.

You are indeed being shut inside the pill cauldron.

How fortunate.

The famed Phoenix of the humans has fallen into my hands.

Don't worry.

I will use every drop of your Phoenix blood and make them into deity level pills.

Gui Tuantou. Were you the one who killed him?

Exactly. I'm the one who killed him.

You are all looking for Ye Shi Hu Lan.

He knew too much.

So I killed him.

Who exactly are you?

Me?

I've pretended so many years, I'm tired.

Your death is imminent, so I'll let you know the truth.

You're from the Demon Clan!

Could it be... this pill cauldron has a little world?

Did you know?

While concealing myself for so many years, I could only reveal my true identity when I turn humans into pills.

That kind of feeling, do you know how much it hurts?

Go die!

What did you say?

I said that you should go die!

You hit me!

In my little world,

how would it be possible for you to kill me?

In here, my word is law.

Without my permission, no one can leave, and no one can come in.

Chujian Miss! Don't be afraid, I'm here to save you!

This must be Senior Xuan Youzi.

I'm here to ask you some questions on pill making.

Be careful. He's from the Demon Clan.

Demon Clan?

That's not right. Elder Jin said that he's supposed to be a Beast Clan pill maker.

Could he have eaten too many pills and changed clans?

You're here to learn about pill making?

Did you know?

The best way to learn pill making, is to make yourself into a pill;

just like what is happening to you right now. You should enjoy the process of slowly being turned into pills now!

There's a fire! Fire!

Good thing I have skills in fire, I don't fear being burned.

But I can get burned!

Don't worry. I'll protect you.

All collected!

Chujian Miss, you're so awesome!

It's just an insignificant skill.

Actually, I used to know a girl who could use flames.

I was really impressed, and she even baked fish for me.

Then, over all these years, have you ever thought of her?

Of course! The fish she baked had a very special taste.

I could never forget it.

After she left, I stopped eating baked fish,

because I wanted to share that special taste with her only.

Perhaps, she also thought this way.

Let's not talk about this anymore. How about we figure out how to get out of here first?

All right!

It truly is the Phoenix bloodline.

She's completely immune to flames.

Fine. Then let me show you the power of my Heaven and Earth Melting Pot.

- What's going on?\N- Someone is activating a formation.
