[Episode 4]

Timing and Subtitles brought to you by Subbers of the Destiny @ Viki

Your Holiness.

What's all the commotion?

Your Holiness, there is a young person playing with a sword.

Fighting for injustice, but too reckless. Just tell him to wait.

Yes.

Is the youngster still there?

Yes. Standing properly. His posture hasn't even changed.

Night has arrived, you should return and rest.

Yes.

Chen Changsheng, student from Xining. Paying respect to His Holiness.

You stood for so long, you must have something to say.

I would like to join Guojiao Academy and enter the Grand Examination.

Guojiao Academy has been deserted for many years, there aren't even any teachers.

Why don't you test for other schools?

I've already taken those tests,

but it seems like no school wants to admit me.

I sympathize your situation,

but I am in no place to interfere.

If I interfere, it would be unfair. You understand?

I am not asking for anything else, I just want to join the six elite Ivy schools,

and become qualified for the Grand Examination.

This is my last chance.

I beg for your help.

You don't need to kneel for anyone.

You've already solved my sword riddle so the school can reopen.

There is only 1 request: You must find the key to the academy's main gate.

This is the only way for Guojiao Academy to officially reopen.

I understand.

You can move in for now, read the books there and study hard.

Don't disappoint me.

I never thought I could personally reopen Guojiao Academy again.

Whenever I think of this place, my heart jumps.

Thank you, Teacher Xin.

There's an 80% chance that you won't be able to find the main gate's key.

You can just treat this as an inn.

If the opportunity arises, just go for your future!

Thank you for your advice. For me, this is where my future is.

This is the academy's roster.

In this academy, the only valuable left is probably the library.

This is the library's key.

You must be careful with this key.

His Holiness does favor you! I was specially instructed.

If you are short of money, give you money. Give you anything you need.

The Grand Examination is extremely prestigious. Guojiao Academy must be within the first 3 tiers.

First tier has 3 people, Second tier 10 people,

third tier has 30 people, with a total of 43 people.

As long as you're in the top 43, it should be fine.

I must get 1st place.

Fine. Young people can dream.

Greetings, Your highness.

Minister Xu Yourong on your command was looking for the key to the Zhou Garden.

We came across demons on the way. We came to specially report this.

I'm also here to report to your command, Your Majesty.

Are your injuries any better?

They're not serious.

The demon princess was able to harm you?

Was the black robe also there?

It was my carelessness that caused Your Highness to worry.

I was fortunate that I had Qiushan Jun come to help me!

It's good that you're fine.

Qiushan, you manage tasks well.

The Lishan Academy has indeed cultivated a very fine talent.

Great thanks for Your Highness' compliments.

Are there any traces of the key to Zhou Garden?

We have lost it many times, the Demon Clan were consistently following us.

I am assuming they have no clues either.

Finding the key to the Zhou Garden is of paramount importance.

We have to find the key before the Demon Clan.

This thing, you and Qiushan will take care of it.

If anything happens, contact Mo Yu immediately

to help you, then I will be at ease.

Yes.

Demons have shown their wild ambitions and there will be a battle.

Yourong is willing to serve the Empress.

I'll live for all the people of the country and fight to the death.

I will not let the Demon Clan step into our country.

I will also use all my power against the Demon Clan until my heart stops beating.

It's really a time of troubles.

The mentioning of Guojiao Academy reopening has begun.

I don't know if that's good or bad.

Recently, Her Highness has been bothered by many issues.

The sword riddle has been solved, Guojiao Academy has to reopen.

- They're reopening? This is big news.\N- How is this big news?

With no money or people, it can't match up to its original splendor.

Let's talk about you.

Lord Qiushan came with you all this way. The two of you traveled very closely together from north to south. Everyone envies you!

My dear Lady Mo! He is just my senior.

I know! Everybody knows that one is the senior and the other is the junior.

One is a dragon, the other is a phoenix.

Courageous man, beautiful lady. It's a perfect match!

Then why not allow me to be your matchmaker instead?

You are Shendu's most beautiful lady. I'm sure both of you will make the perfect match!

With you around, who dares to become Shendu City's most beautiful woman?

My little phoenix!

Seriously, how far along are the two of you?

According to Her Majesty, you are going to decide who you are going to marry!

But you are neither intimate nor indifferent to him! Are you pushing him towards other girls?

I don't have the time to talk about relationships.

After the Zhou Garden matter ends, I'm going back to the Saintless Peak to cultivate myself.

To seek the orthodox way of living.

Listen to you. You sound like an old lady.

However, you and Lord Qiushan are the elites among all the people.

There's no couple more suitable for each other.

No one but the person wearing the shoes knows where the shoe pinches! You'd better think about yourself!

♫ The beats of my heart show my yearning for you ♫

♫ I'm writing to you with my deep love ♫

♫ The memories about you and me are becoming clearer and clearer ♫

♫ Are you also being dragged by them? ♫

♫ Your breath is familiar to me, stopping in my mind ♫

♫ Every second I make a wish to see you again ♫

♫ My emotion of missing you has become stronger ♫

♫ Missing you has been a part of my life ♫

Everyone in this world, no matter if they're from the Beast Clan or Human Clan,

will have their own star in the universe.

If his or her spirit can travel in the universe, and find their own star,

and use the starlight to strengthen the physical body,

then he or she will be able to begin cultivating.

The Master has said that if I can focus my spirit and travel to the universe,

the star that belongs to me will naturally lighten.

But why... can't I find it even after searching it for so long?

Changsheng, this silver line is destined to claim your life.

It begins at your wrist and ends in your heart!

The day the silver line stretches to your Baihui acupoint will be the day you will die.

Other than changing your destiny, no one else can save you.

Master, I won't die like this. I definitely won't.

This Chen Changsheng

actually reopened Guojiao Academy.

This youngster is quite lucky.

Whether he's lucky or unfortunate, it's too early to say.

Guojiao Academy is like a burning hot potato.

Only ignorant and reckless people like him would dare to enter.

Then you must think of a plan.

Since he has stirred up this hornet's nest,

let's wait and enjoy the show.

Lonely?

Brother Tang?

This place really looks like a bloody battleground.

It should be called the Ghost Home!

Come, take out the stuff.

What's this?

This is what I bought at the market in a second-hand store called Zhuan Zhuan.

Listen, that place has many weapons turned in from the elites.

It's really mysterious. I'll bring you there next time.

Look at this magic tool! It is called the water cleaner.

Driven by ten thousand years of ice crystals, and uses the mysterious spirit of water as a matchmaker,

and fire and wind as a resource, it is a very wonderful and exquisite magic tool.

Magical device? What is it for?

For cleaning stuff up!

Begin!

It's only cleaning, you don't have to make a big deal out of it.

No one has lived here for tens of years. You could use the spider webs as blankets.

Besides, this is only 5000 silver coins, not really a big deal.

- 5000 silver coins?\N- Yup!

No wonder people say, money can make a ghost push the millstone for you.

I've never actually seen a ghost before;

but if I do, I can try asking him to push the millstone.

Especially if it were to be a female ghost. I'm sure it would be wonderful!

Tang Thirty-Six...

I know you are going to keep thanking me. Just help me improve my wings better. That will be enough.

No problem.

Come on! Keep working!

Hurry up. Don't just stand there.

Guojiao Academy. It deserves being called the number one academy of the great Zhou Dynasty back then.

While this library has been abandoned for decades,

I can still feel its old glory and profound heritage.

The theory of medicine. Medicine classics!

Master has made me recite most of these books.

[Wash the Marrow]\N (Scripture believed to have been left by the Shaolin Temple of Songshan)

I finally found you.

No wonder Master would not let me practice. The most basic step of finding my own star

almost cost me my life.

A familiar scent.

It smells so nice.

Whatever it is, I'll go inside to check it out.

Who's there? Show yourself.

I've been waiting for you for quite a while.

You know me?

Since you're here, then stay.

You want to keep me here... It's not that easy!

It seems you came prepared. You even use the ultimate weapon.

I finally waited until this day.

Oh, no! The princess disappeared!

Oh, no! She must have sneaked out again!

Hurry! Inform the Imperial Palace.

Let's go.

Aren't you afraid of being annihilated?

Your clan members will also be killed.

Is it really worth it to kill me?

To be able to kill you in human territory, I'm willing to sacrifice eveything.

Wait a moment.

Before you kill me, you should tell me your name.

There's no point in delaying. Today no one will come save you.

So this is the amazing Rain-Making Whip. I'm honored to see it!

But today will be the last day you'll use it.

You will surely die because it's arranged by the military adviser.

The Rain-Making Whip is only so-so.

Imperial Tusk! Our military adviser was right!

You really do have many magic tools. But to me they are worth nothing.

Concentrate! Just follow your energy.

Lift your wrist to your shoulder and snap your whip.

"Dou Zhen," "Kui Liu,"\N(Positions)

"Xiu Shu," "Tan Wei."

"Fang Xin," "Bi Ang," "Wei Yi," "Gui Zhang."

Who is it? Show yourself!

It's you?

Who are you? How can you guess my own fighting skills and footwork?

The Yeshi Steps are noted among the 3000 Taoist scriptures. They are not your own.

It looks like you know quite a bit.

There's movement next door.

Let's go!

My blood for the demon. Come down to this world Yan Luo.

- Be careful!\N- What is that?

This is the weapon of the Demon Clan, the Demon Smoke! It's a net used to hunt prey!

Nothing can escape the area it covers!

It looks like this time I won't be able to run away.

I never thought that when the sky was about to fall

a person would replace me to prevent it.

You are able to break the Demon Smoke?

Princess!

I've finally found you.

Recently have you been good?

Military Adviser.

Here.

You should get going first.

Go.

Military Adviser.

How was it?

I failed to kill the princess of the Beast Clan this time.

It's all because of that youth who suddenly showed up.

Please don't worry.

Even if it costs me my life, I will complete what you ordered.

That boy knows the technique of your Yeshi steps.

Even if you attack her another time, you will still not succeed.

Your servant has failed you! Please give me another chance.

This assassination attempt will not go unnoticed.

After this, the Empress will surely strengthen the guard.

So, if you attack again, to come back alive,

it'll be harder than ascending to the skies.

For the Demon Clan,

I'm not afraid of death!

Meridians of Yaozu and that of human beings are different.

Don't worry, I have confidence.

It turns out, even when the sky is falling,

there is someone who will hold it up for me.

Princess, you've finally awakened.

How did I turn into a hedgehog?

- It's so ugly!\N- Stop moving, your injuries aren't healed yet.

It's you? How did you know it was the Yeshi steps of the Demon Clan?

How did you break through the Demon Smoke?

Yeshi steps?

Uncle Jin wouldn't know of it either, right?

The Yeshi steps contain the mystical power of a snow blizzard.

I heard there are more than 3000 positions, no way anyone can memorize all of them.

Coincidentally, I have them memorized.

All 3000 positions?

Then that's really impressive.

You're too kind.

I'll prescribe her some medication. Help her take it later and she'll be fine.

Goodbye.

Princess.

Hey?

I'm sorry Uncle Jin, I made you worry.

Yeshi Tanlu is considered as the best assassin of the Demon Clan.

It was only luck that Princess was able to escape.

In the future you can't just run around however you like.

Or I really don't know how I'll respond.

I know I'm wrong. But today I was really unlucky.

It's because I ran into him.

And when I fought with the assassin yesterday, I could not believe I understood the Rain-Making Whip formation.

This isn't the point.

Young miss cannot get hurt.

- Do you understand the Rain-Making Whip formation now? \N- Yes.

No way.

It's true! It was him that directed everything. If you don't believe me I can show you now.

Uncle Jin, he's so young yet he knows so many things!

He was even able to guide me!

I've already had people look into it.

I know that he just recently came to this city.

His identity and where he came from are all blank.

But he was able to get permission to live in Guojiao Academy,

and at the same time understands all of the Demon Clan's, Beast Clan's and Human Clan's fighting methods,

he must be a disciple of a great master.

- Who cares who he is. I want to become his disciple.\N- What?

Right, I want him to become my master.

Absolutely not. You are a royal of high status.

Only people of similar status can be suitable to be your teacher.

B-But... has any of those people ever saved my life? Are they able to figure out how to defend from the Demon Clan?

That is also true...

But...

Uncle Jin!

Anyway, I've already decided.

Teacher! Thank you for saving my life yesterday.

Get up. Get up.

It's Luo Luo. You are younger than me; of course, I have to protect you.

We of the Beast Clan always have an immense gratitude to a benefactor. Today, I can return the favor.

Leaving already? Pretty straightforward.

Come, come.

These things?

Open them. Open them for him.

Teacher, this is a Night Pearl. It glows really bright at night.

When you read books at night, you're eyes won't feel tired.

But it attracts quite a bit of mosquitoes.

Night Pearl?

And these... This is the summary of Lishan Sword Technique.

The tribes of the South are too selfish to spread this.

My family put in a lot of effort in order to collect these manuals.

Oh, and also, these are all originals!

The scriptures behind the Lishan Hall are copies. Their fake.

And this... This is the Ji Wujian Sword Formation. As well as Busting Fist.

This is Yuan Feng Sword Formation.

The Yuan Feng Sword Formation of the Wenshui Tang Family.

Our family keeps everything.

As long as you like it, you can have it.

There are also these! These are herbs of all sorts.

These are Fire Ganoderma Lucidums.

These are ten thousand years ginseng, and heaven grass.

I'm not sure what you would like, so I just brought it all.

What's wrong? You don't like it?

Come, come!

What are you doing?

Here, for you!

W-What is this?

It's the interspatial bug!

He can take you to anywhere you want to go. Isn't that cool?

I don't deserve any of this.

B-But!

About yesterday, it was your guards that scared away the assassin.

You coming all the way over here to thank me is already enough.

Moreover, I can't possibly accept all these valuable gifts.

I didn't come today just to thank you for saving my life.

The main reason I came was to ask you to be my teacher!

From now on, I will treat you as my teacher

and wholeheartedly follow teacher for my training.

Quickly get up; get up.

When I saw you fight with the demon yesterday, your cultivation is higher than mine.

B-But.. I was able to win the demon yesterday was all because of you. Right?

First of all, please don't call me teacher.

Okay, teacher!

It's all just a coincidence.

But you also know the technique of the Rain-Making Whip.

You also know about the Yeshi steps. That can't all just be coincidence.

I've only read more books than an average person.

What about the way to run the Nascent Soul?

I knew this Rain-Making Whip formation ages ago,

but I did not know how to run it with the Nascent Soul.

Even the professors at Tiandao Academy and Zhaixing Academy don't know either!

But you were able to figure it all out.

You are just too amazing!

Teacher, come on! Just accept me.

I will accept your kindness, but please take away all these gifts.

There are so many powerful people in Shendu. I'm sure you will find someone more suitable to be your teacher than I.

No! Teacher!

I don't care! Whether they are powerful or not has nothing to do with me.

Other than teacher, I don't want anyone else.

- Let go first.\N- No!

If teacher doesn't accept me, then I won't let go.

Teacher.

I'm not tired. You don't have to massage me.

Teacher!

You!

Your Majesty! The person who attempted to assassinate Princess Luoluo is Yeshi Tanlu from the Demon Clan,

I've already sent my people to go find his whereabouts.

The Demon Clan are too bold. They even dare to act in the capital.

Bai Luoheng's safety is extremely important.

You must personally protect her. You must be careful.

Yes.

Where is she living now?

She lives on the White Plains.

Better to arrange for her to live in the Palace then.

I understand.

No! I'm not going, not going!

I could finally get out of the palace.

Why do I have to be put back into the palace? Why?

Her Majesty is just worried about your safety.

If anything happened to you, no one could bear the responsibility.

Who wants you to take responsibility? This is my own stuff

I will explain to the Empress myself.

Right now all I care about is how to have him accept me as his disciple.

You all help me think of a solution. I will reward you.

Princess, you see...

Even though this Mister Chen is very knowledgeable,

he hasn't even cultivated before.

This thing, I've already decided.

You guys just need to give me a good solution.

Princess, I think you could do this...

Luo Luo really suits being your disciple.

You, come here.

Let me tell you. Luo Luo really suits being your disciple.

Luo... Luo...

Do you also want to say that Luo Luo wants to be my disciple?

Older brother, Luo Luo...

Wonder drinks for cultivation!

This girl, she actually thought of this.

Changsheng!

Mister!

You aren't going to say that Luo Luo should become my disciple, right?

I...

- Luo...\N- Xuan Yuan, Xuan Yuan?

Disciple, what disciple?

I'm here to express my thanks.

Thank you for treating my injuries during the test.

These are two bottles of fruit wine that I made myself.

- I'm letting you taste it. Hopefully you won't dislike it.\N- How could I?

Mister, why do you accept his gifts but not mine?

Mine are clearly better.

The worth of gifts is dependent on the heart rather than the value.

After all, Xuan Yuan's gifts aren't gifts to have me as his teacher.

This is just an expression of my gratitude. Please don't look down on it.

How about we all try some together?
