because I come from a very musical family.

Back in the '80s, my dad was in a band called Hi-Tension.

This is where it all started for you, wasn't it? Yeah.

Toured all over the UK, and I think he even went to America.

When you're younger,

it's just like, "Oh, that's Dad and he's singing,"

and it's a bit embarrassing, but I can appreciate it more now

because I'm trying to do exactly what he did.

I'm Iwan Hughes, I'm 24, and I'm a personal trainer from Bristol.

and just build confidence, more than anything.

As much as I love my job as a PT,

if I could sing, make music,

Where do I start?

I'm Olivia Rogers.

I'm 18 years old, and I'm from Broadstairs in Kent.

'She was just always singing.'

And just knew from a very young age this is where she's going in life.

Definitely.

I live with my mum, Maree.

She's the best mum ever. I don't always say it to her,

but she does everything she can to make me and my sister very happy.

# I was there for you

# And you were there for me... #

My dad, Justin, was my biggest supporter ever.

He was a Royal Marine. He used to go through my vocal warm-ups.

He would get the boxing gloves out,

and he would start making me like punch the pads

as I'm doing my vocal warm-up.

So then, all of a sudden, I'm hitting these Demi Lovato notes.

He was nicknamed Smiler, because no matter the occasion,

even when he found out that he had cancer,

he was still smiling.

It went from early stages to terminal cancer very quickly.

He sat us down, he was like, "My time is coming to an end."

And then... Sorry.

And then a few weeks later, he passed away.

'Olivia and her dad were just inseparable.'

He was just an absolute inspiration of a man.

She's such a strong, young lady. Stronger than me.

She's exactly like her father.

I am very excited to sing the song I'm singing.

My dad would be laughing,

I'm a volunteer at a youth centre called Spotlight in London.

So, an average day at the youth centre for me

can involve anything from playing table tennis or pool

with the kids, to helping out in the music studio.

A lot of the kids are very creative

and do have a lot of creative interests.

Onose is a good person. He's got the best energy I've ever known.

And I want to be like him one day.

What the... Jeez.

I come from a family of very musical people.

We literally grew up getting called the Von Trapp family

because we used to sing all the time.

I go to church every Sunday, and I sing as part of the choir,

but this is the biggest thing I've ever done.

..that's when it will hit me.

Like, this thing I've been watching is now my experience.

This is probably just my moment to actually face that fear

and just realise that I'm stronger than I thought.

My struggle with anxiety has kind of been for a long time.

Mentally, I just struggled with a lot of self-doubt,

self-confidence, and music was that release for me.

I've been so blessed to have such a strong support network

in my family and friends,

and I really want to do them proud.

So, I've been singing for most of my life.

And at some point, it kind of became a form of therapy for me.

I think that's why I got so emotional seeing you guys turn,

because I had to push past so much fear to get here.

Life throws everything at us.

We have to be able to take those low moments

and use them as energy to catapult us

and be the fuel to our aspirations and dreams.

I'm Hollie Peabody, I'm 21, and I work in a prison.

I started working in the prison service nearly two years ago.

Morning, Hollie, are you all right?

Since starting here, I've fallen in love with the job

and the people that I work with.

How's life down that end of the gate?

I work as an OSG, which is an Operational Support Grade.

A lot of my job is working behind the scenes

to help make sure the prison regime runs as smoothly as possible.

My duties at work can vary day to day.

We tend to be dealing with visitors, searching staff on the way in,

searching and escorting vehicles around the establishment.

And then night shifts, we're on the wings.

Working in a prison is eye-opening.

I very much enjoy the job. It's the best job I've ever had.

A few years ago, I really wouldn't have done anything like this.

But since working here, my confidence has gone up massively.

At the moment, I'm trying to lean into things

that expand my comfort zone.

And the anxiety level's up!

Auditioning is massively out of my comfort zone.

I don't do performing anywhere.

It tends to just be, like, in my bedroom.

Doing something like this, where I'm gonna be stood on the stage...

not so much.

So it's a big step for me.

To think that you were in work, and now you're here,

it's very different from the day job.

It couldn't be more of a 180.

Coming with me is Joss and Katie, who are my two best friends.

To see Hollie come out of their shell makes us so proud of them,

and I wish they could just see how amazing they really are.

My friendships are very important to me

because I tend to get quite anxious and nervous.

It is nice knowing that they're always there.

I'm feeling incredibly anxious about the live audition.

I don't want to get to a point

where I have regrets of not doing things,

and missing out on opportunities.

The song that I'm doing leans heavily into the topic

of knowing who you are and embracing and loving yourself,

which is something I'm working towards as well,

and something I'm actively trying to grow with.

Feeling nervous? Yeah.

I think the majority of the people that I know

will be surprised that I'm doing this

because it's so far out of my wheelhouse of what I normally do.

I'm proud of the progress that I've made

to be able to get to the point where I can push myself.
