Teacher. HmmDid you bring the books?

Yes, I did. Good. These two

books I inherited from my ancestors who

were great experts in kung fu.

Unfortunately, I wasn't as gifted as they

were and I got crippled in a contest. So

then, I hope you'll do better.

Well,Have you studied them all?Yes, I

have, all the way through. But it's taken

me three years, though. Well, I hope that

you can remember it all and also remember

the promise that you made to me when you

first became my pupil. To control

Guangzhou Province and to master it for

as long as I live. Well, can you

do it?I don't think that anybody can beat

me. Not anyone in the whole province.

Well, I'd like to see a demonstration.

Let's see how good you are. Right.

Ming Lun, you can try out some of your

strength on those trees. Right.

Chen Kuan. Bet you never thought it could

happen. That someone could beat you.

There's an old saying that every new wave

that comes overruns the old ones. So I'm

in control of the province now. Just me.

Got that?

Good day.

Please sit down. Well, now,

what would you like? Some food and some

wine. You make short work of Chen

Kuang, even though he's still a good

fighter, huhWell, from now on, there's no

arguments. Ming Long's the boss here.

Yeah, yeahWe better be careful, huh

Well, speaking as your teacher, I'm real

proud of you. Well, let's think of that,

right?Yeah. Come on, drink up.

Hey, hey, heyHey, look. Hey,

Ming-Lun's the hero. She's the beauty

around here. Yeah. And they ought to make

a well-matched couple, too. Huh

That's Jesus, shall we?

Managers, no no noMiss Ko,

your good friend Ming Lung is the

champion of the whole province now.

Doesn't that please you?

HuhMiss Ko?No No no no

Don't go yet. At least stay for a drink

first. To celebrate, I mean.

Ah Wong. Yes?You take over here, I'm

going. Right.

Yes, her room, upstairs.

Follow him, I'll get them in.

You're different. No, I'm not. But I

don't like your behavior. HuhBut we're

just celebrating. About me winning.

That's exactly what I'm worrying about.

Wondering what sort of future we have

together. But my parents left me quite a

lot of money. And we'll always have quite

enough to live on. So why worry about the

future?I wasn't thinking

of money. What I mean is money

doesn't buy everything. Well, what do you

mean?

You're getting arrogant. What's more,

your teacher's always pushing you into

fights. You'll get into trouble one

day. HuhI've just beaten the most

powerful man around here. So who's going

to make trouble? But you'll get into

trouble. You're not above the lore.

What the hell do you want?I'd like to

give you some good advice, like the girl

did. You're listening in?Partly

curiosity and partly my job.

Who are you?

Chief of the local intelligence brands

Wang Chin alone.

And you're also ahead of the famous Five

Tigers. HmmUnlawful violence disrupts our

society, and so it can never be

tolerated, no matter what it's for.

If that's all, then I'll go.

All right, what do you want?Vengeance.

You conceded swine? We'll teach you now.

You've gone too far.

yeah

Ninglong, this is your last minute on

Earth.

I'm gonna kill you.

Don't

move! Are you all right?Okay.

Thank you. That's okay. Just doing my

job. Right! Down to

the station.

Go on.

yeah Good day, sir. Can you whine?

Go on.

Uh..

Miss Coe. I only work here,

and so you don't have to be so formal.

Uh, I'd like... You'd like to be served?

Yes. Lawan. Yes?Lawan,

serve the guests. Of course, sir. This

way. So this table over here, sir. Come

on now, please. All right.

And now what would you like?Bring

two bottles. Right. Two bottles

of wine.

Ellen. Oh,

it's not you.

It's you. At

least I'll choose my cousin. His family

likes me, wants us to get married.

Imagine that.

When did you arrive?Just now. Just to see

me?Of course, what else?

Your wine.

Sit down. Ah, thank you. Thank you. Thank

you. Loanne?Yes?

Go tell the cook. He should make some of

his best dishes. Lots of them. We want a

real feast. Right. Not only pretty, but

efficient as well, eh

And how long do you think you'll be

staying here?Until you drive me out. As

long as I can. Oh, you. I know

one thing. You've learned how to talk

smooth.

No.

That's enough. You'll be drunk.

So, uh, leave it be. Make it alone.

You mustn't get depressed. Well,

I'd really get drunk to forget

her. Hey, what are you doing?

That guy, who is he?He's the

Iron Ox, the one the chief has often

mentioned, the local champion. Oh.

Minglong. Minglong.

Hey.

Ellen. AhIt's getting late.

We better go. But do come back. Then

we can have a talk. Right. Hey. Yeah.

Come on. Hey, come on. Let's go. Okay,

thanks. Good night. Thank you.

Minglong. Minglong.

Minglong.

Hey, you wait now. Hey?

What is it?What's your relationship with

Miss Ellen?Well, she's my cousin. Well,

you listen, and listen real good. From

now on, you keep away from her. Yeah, and

why should he?Because she's Ming-Long's

girlfriend, and while I can help it, no

one comes between them. Now look, I'm

allowed to see my cousin. You get out of

town! Listen, I've heard enough of this

now.

If you weren't a cripple, I'd teach you a

lesson. Come on, let's go.

Yeah.

Don't push me too far.

Hey.

No, teacher.

What do we do now?I'll tell Ming Long,

all right?RightHe's drunk.

He's completely gone. Ming Long!Ming

long! Ming long. Ming long.

For God's sake, wake up. Where

is it?Your teacher. He's in the

fight.

Teacher!

Teacher.

Teacher!

Teacher.

Which of you did this?

Was it you?Was

it you?Owen, it

was me, but it was an accident.

I tell you this, you are going to pay for

it now. Ming Lung! No, wait. Ming

Lung, he didn't do it. I'm the one who

really did it. I did.

Who are you?Jinsi Wei. Wu

Shung Gong. Cha Chi Che. 401, huh

No wonder you killed him. You've got it

wrong. He forced us into fighting. You

ask these folk. They can tell you what

happened. I don't care. He died fighting

for me. And I won't rest until I've

avenged him. Minglong, be reasonable.

Let the law decide on this. Right.

If the law decides they're guilty,

they'll be punished. I tell you. But

they're all friends of yours. You're the

Five Tigers. That's right. We were taught

by the same teacher. But still, as the

chief of intelligence here,I'll carry out

my duty.

Xiaochu, before the courts hear this

case, you're not to leave town. I won't.

And that goes for all of you. Wait till

you call for. Save your breath, you.

Don't believe a word.

Like they say, the best form of defense

is always to attack, and Changmingnong's

a dangerous man. I say we just try and

get him. After all, there are five of us,

so between us we should be able to manage

him. Right, shut up. Huh

ever since our teacher died. I've tried

to make it clear time and time again. Our

job is to protect our country, and that's

our sole purpose. We should never use our

skills to settle private fights. All

right, you all got that?

I know that you never meant to kill that

man, but the man's dead.

So, you, all of you, you must

answer for it. So then,You must all

appear before the courts. But look.

What if Chen Ming-lung decides to take

the law into his own hands? What do we do

then?

Wait. Wait

Wait until we can't stand anymore. And

only then will we do something. Not

before.

Sister.

Waking me up this time of the morning.

What is it?There's a man named Chan. He

wants to see you. Huh

Named Chan? You go and tell him. I'm

out. He said, But if you were not at

home, then he'd wait for you.

Then you could be chiming along. Where is

he?He's waiting in the living room.

Go talk to him. Right.

Well, then, they... Wonderful.

Which of those eight do you think is

likely to please you?

Frankly, you're the one that attracts me.

I'm sorry. I retired over six months ago.

But surely your taste for money remains

the same, though. You...

Don't get mad. Bad for your skin.

Gives you wrinkles, you know.

Hey, hey, heyYou can't go yet.

You haven't agreed. Let me go.

Let it

go, you bastardMaybe I am, but you're a

coward. I use this trick to flush you

out. No other way. What do you want?

Come with me, if you have the guts.

Right.

You can't go.

Tell my boss quickly.

Hello?Please give me the police.

I have to admit that the fire tigers take

quite a bit of hunting down.

I've had this set up already.

Hot! Hot! Hot!

Hot! Hot!

Hot!

Hot!

Hot!

Hot!

Hot! Hot!

Hot!

Oh, boss, you're back. Oh.

Did you find Shiwei?I've

searched everywhere. Not a sign.

Well, we know that Chan Minglong took him

away from his girlfriend's place, but

that's all we do know, though. Chan

Minglong must have killed him. I'm sure

of it. Listen, why don't you just arrest

Chan? We've got no evidence. I've no

witnesses either. The law demands that we

have them. But what will we do then?

You'll just have to be careful. That's

all we can do. Right. All right. Well,

let's do this. Grab my beds down and

please...

Ah Right.

Bed's down. Come on, come on, come on,

bed's down. Come on.

Right.

All right.

House wins. House wins.

No, don't give up. Your luck will change

soon. Right, get your

bets down. Come on.

Come onCome on then.

Right. Huh

Now, sir, do you have something smaller?

Listen, we're just a small game. We're

simply not used to bets that size here.

It makes it more lively. But still, it's

much too big. We can't cover bets that

size here. In that case, close the game.

Huh

HuhOh, I see. That's what you want, eh

Why, goddamn you...

What do you want, then?Goddamn you! Hold

it. Boss, he said... I saw

everything.

Come on, then. I'll play you.

Please.

HmmRight.

Would you please take your bets out?

Right, yeah.

Right, take your tiles.

Here's mine.

And I win.

What's your next bet?

A cup of blood. Blood?

That's right. The loser fills the

cup with his own blood.

Right. I'll take that.

Take your tiles.

Ten.

Survive. So the house went.

Still betting?Let's

have a big bet now. What do you mean?

My life. HuhWhoever loses

has to kill himself and using this

dagger. Come on.

You're going too far. You scared,

coward?

Take your tiles.

My what?

HuhMy God.

You lose, huh

Here. We're going, then.

hmm I'll give you a chance. We'll go and

have a contest. If you win, then I'll

forget this whole business, right?

Right

yeah Hot!

Hot!

Hot hot!

Hot! Hot!

Hot!

Hot!

Hot! Hot!

Listen now. Any idea where Chen might be?

I think I know a place.

Minglong?

Minglong, I want to have a talk.

Well, I don't. I don'tMinglong,

you must be sensible. You can't behave

like this. It's against the law. The law?

Tell me. Can the law bring teacher back

to life?Can he, ehNo

one can bring the dead back. But still,

the law does what it can. It punishes.

Heh. So you, ehI prefer my own brand of

law. Seems to work better than yours. You

may think that, but you're wrong. So

then, I suggest you drop the idea. Well,

where is Sung Kwa?I don't know. is she

way still alive I don't know

at least you must know where he is then I

don't know

you're not unbeatable you know remember

there's always somebody about her well

nobody can beat me in a straight fight

that's so well if you're thinking that

you can let's have a fight we'll soon

settle that right

Oh, is somebody going away on a journey

then?Go on, go on. Yeah.

Right.

Let's stop here now. Right. Whoa!

It's getting pretty hot. Let the horses

rest. Right. Go on.

Who are you?

Chan Renglong, it's you. Huh

Surprised?

You sure? The driver brought the news

back. He saw the whole thing himself. Ohh

Zot Chew.

Where you going? To get Chen Ming Lung.

You mustn't do that. At least wait for

your chief to get back. The teacher was

killed because they were protecting me.

That means, if they're dead, then it's my

fault. I'm not going to stand by and

watch him get away with that now.

I'm going to find him.

Sachu! Sachu!

Sachu!

Chanming Wang! I'm

here! Chanming

Wang! I'm here.

I let the driver go. I know that you come

after me. Now you've got me. Let me down,

unless you're scared of me. Right.

Before we fight now, tell me something.

All my friends, they alive?Well, if

you're prepared to fight me, no matter

who wins out, I'll give you the answer to

that one. Right.

ohh

People said you were the best, toughest

of the lot. So let's see what you can do.

I know what kung fu means. That's

something you don't...

He wouldn't listen to me. I tried to stop

him. The young

idiot. He's simply throwing his life

away. He's no chance. Let's find him.

Right.

Fuck you! Fuck you!

Got you! Got

you! Got you! Got you! What now?

I know what. Let's split up now.

Right. You look that way. Right.

That's you!

Thought you! Thought you!

That's you! That's you! That's you!That's

you!

yeah Why'd I just kill us?

I won't kill innocent men. I want the

murderers. So now I've got you all

here, let's have the answer. Who was it

killed my teacher?I did. I did. I

did. I did. Now let's not have any

games. Tell me. Who

was it?I'm dead.

All right.

Since you've all confessed to the

murderer, I can kill all of you. And

you first!

You'd have really killed them. You're the

murderer, a cheap killer.

I just wanted revenge. Robin!

All right. Don't force me to

kill you. I must do my job.

Last time I didn't fight back. I owed you

something. Because you saved my life

once. But not this time. This time I'll

fight!

Oh!

Thought you.

Thought you.

Watch your legs! You've lost the

fight, so don't you try and stop me now.

You'll have to kill me first. Right. If

that's what you want.

Hold it!

I just can't believe it, but you could

really be as vicious as this. I only

wanted my revenge. No, it's not true.

But that's the excuse you want. I know

what it is. You thought I'd fallen for my

cousin, and all that you wanted was some

excuse to get rid of him.

You're wrong. And I told you that.

I love you. I do, you know.

And I always will, too. Well, I don't

believe you. Simple as that.

Right. I told you that one day

I'd prove it to you.

Helen. Helen.

Helen. Helen.

Helen. And now, then, do you believe me?

Minhyung, don't cry.

Remember, when you're violent, it

harms you, corrupts you,

destroys you. Don't you see that?

I'm sorry. I'm sorry.

Bingyong, please promise me

this. Obey the laws

always. Please say you'll do that for

my sake. Ellen. I will.

I promise you that.

In that case, it's been worthwhile. I...

I hope you will.

Remember...

You can't die! You can't die!

She's badly hurt. She must get to the

hospital.

Captain, I'll take her there, and then I

shall give myself up. I've been such a

fool. I've broken the law. You were

right. And so are your friends.

I know that. Now you hurry.
