YEAR 434 OF THE HOLY GOD CALENDAR THE DEAD CITY, NECROZOA

Hmm?

Welcome home Leonis.

Oh, Roselia.

Were you on a campaign?

Yes! It was quite a worthy opponent, I died twice.

But of course I won.

After all, I am the Undead King.

I have something for you.

Some spoils I plundered from their palace.

Thank you, I accept your gift.

You hold onto it for now.

As you wish.

You have really settled into being a Dark Lord.

I've developed a number of strong spells and I've made new friends.

The prince of the Kingdom of Shadows, his name is Blackas Shadow Prince.

He's caught up in a bitter dispute

but if need be, I'll let his whole country flee into my shadow.

I learned a spell from him to do that just in case.

I also have something for you, in celebration of your great victory.

Why do you give me that?

You used to use this sword when you were still a hero.

But a Holy Sword doesn't suit you well anymore.

A Demon Sword is more suitable.

This is a Demon Sword?

However, this sword cannot be drawn except under one specific condition.

You already know this condition.

This sword seeks out your truth.

Le-o-nis!

Arakael!

I never thought I'd encounter you a thousand years in the future.

He's trying to birth Voids.

So he is the one causing the stampede that Riselia was talking about.

Selia!

The seal of control hasn't disappeared.

That means my vassal is alive.

His aim is to lure me out.

Fine.

I'll let your plan unfold

and I will annihilate you so not a speck of dust remains.

It seems that our enemy has come back to life.

Yes and it seems he has completely changed.

It seems he's the head of the Voids now.

After a thousand years he has sunken to become this unknown monster.

It's not all bad news.

If he has been revived, then there's no doubt Roselia is also alive somewhere.

What are those humans doing?

The fragile shack is better than nothing but they stand outside exposed.

They're looking this way. Do they want something from you?

I'm used to those kinds of stares.

Overwhelming power conjures fear in people's hearts.

That hasn't changed ever since I was a hero.

Wait here a moment.

It is exactly what a Dark Lord wants.

It's best you stay inside.

Oh, umm...

Brother Leo.

T-Thank you for protecting us!

Sure.

We're okay now.

Please save Sister Selia!

I beg you!

They weren't looking at me with disgust?

Sure, leave it to me.

I promise I will bring Selia back to you all.

The word of a Dark Lord will always be kept.

Eighth-grade Barrier spell,

Zoa Doma!

Come forth! My Elite Soldiers!

I've put up a barrier and left guards.

As long as you don't leave the building, you'll be safe.

Even if this place were attacked I have no duty to protect it.

However, my name as a Dark Lord will mean nothing if I were to neglect

the place my vassal holds dear.

Oh, what is that?

I received it nearby where you live, Lord Magnus.

You wouldn't have stolen this right?

A royal family member of the Kingdom of Shadow would never.

A human gave it to me while scratching my chin.

I see.

-I'm hungry, can I have one? -It was inevitable.

Hm?

What is it?

Selia, can you hear me? Please respond!

This is the 18th platoon, please respond!

God of Thunder, Furious Decapitation!

Things are getting busy!

Engaging a Hydra-class Void 100 meters west of our assigned district.

Nearby platoons are short of hands. Selia, hurry and come!

Selia has been taken by the Voids.

What did you say?

I'll bring her back.

Please tell me where she is with your Holy Sword's searching skill.

Too reckless! Ask that district's platoon!

Nobody is here.

They must have their hands full.

-In a little bit... -It'll be too late!

Mode Shift! Drag Blast!

Regina, to your left!

Can you not see this place with your Holy Sword?

No way! Did you...

Yes, I'll explain later.

Please trust me now!

I understand.

I'll track Selia's registered bio-sample to find her.

In the fifth, no, the seventh underground layer. Nearby the center.

There's a signal by the magical furnace.

Thank you!

Run!

Huh?

Unbelievable.

What a ruffian the Dark Lord is, using a maid.

But at least it's easier than working at that doughnut shop.

I know where the giant magic crystal is that the humans call the magical furnace.

I leave navigation up to you.

So you sent Shary to the humans?

She's not that great of a maid,

but she used to be an assassin that was out for me.

A couple of monsters will be no problem for her.

I know that.

What I want to know is the reason you sent her to save humans

when our enemies are the Six Heroes.

Yes.

There is value in Elfiné's Holy Sword's ability.

Also Regina is my vassal's maid.

An unconvincing answer.

I also can't make sense of why you set a barrier around that human hovel.

I did, so what?

I found that I like those humans a little.

I see, that is a reason that fits my Lord.

Al Gu Belzelga!

Here we are.

I'll be having my vassal back, Arakael!

The flames of hell, rage and storm! Reduce them to a handful of ashes!

Zofu Amadia!

Wow, such tremendous regenerative power!

Leonis!

You were destroyed a thousand years ago.

It seems you still have intelligence enough to talk.

But you are still a fool.

I was not destroyed, I simply sealed my soul away.

You are the fool!

The world has changed now.

You're right, it has changed a lot. The food is a lot better.

The world will regenerate along with the Void Planet.

The Void Planet? What is that?

As the preacher of this true gospel,

I was re... I was chosen!

He has absorbed priests of the Sacred Order.

Selia can you hear me?

Leo?

You came to save me!

Selia!

Here it comes!

Sharia North!

Something's not right.

Our spell power is falling my Lord.

Yes, this entire place is Arakael's domain.

I suspect he is draining our magic.

Thou shalt play the chant of light.

Thou shalt play the chant of light.

Multiple Arias?

Eighth-grade Sacred spell

Rex Megido!

Darkness, explode!

Alzam!

Las Gu Roa!

He is getting power from the magic crystal.

He'll shoot endlessly!

Yes and he has the multiple arias from the priests he has absorbed.

I see, he is the Archsage.

It will be a gamble...

Blackas, I'm going to be a bit rash.

I need to be fighting too!

If not for fighting right now,

why have I awoken the power of my Holy Sword?

At this rate it will be exactly the same as before.

Gran Beldo!

Blackas!

Howling Blaze!

Rex Megido!

Where is she?

I can't lose!

I am no longer the person I was six years ago!

I refuse to keep being someone who needs protecting!

There you are!

I'll do it for Leo.

For the city! I'll protect you all!

Forgive me. I will be unable to fight for a time.

You did well, get some rest.

You fool, what have you done?

What?

I just shared a bit of my magical blood with my vassal.

Leo!

It looks like you've gotten the hang of using your vampire powers.

Yes! This is your blood isn't it?

That's just the start.

Thank you.

Thanks to you I can fight too!

Leonis!

I will destroy you!

Using rational means.

A Tenth-grade Multi-Aria spell!

He plans to burn himself and the entire city to the ground!

I am going to erase him from this world.

Huh?

It will take a little time, so you must protect me.

Okay.

I'll show you how I use my Holy Sword!

You're going to use it?

Yes, I have my vassal back.

I don't need to hold back anymore.

You understand what this means, don't you?

This can't be a temporary whim.

This sword seeks out your truth.

You mean it still retains the will of a Holy Sword?

Yes, it accepted my blessing

and changed from a Holy Sword to a Demon Sword.

Maintaining it's amazing power and it's strong seal.

It's seal...

The sword that cannot be drawn without its conditions met.

The only way to draw the Demon Sword,

is in protection of the Kingdom!

I desire thee to be my strength.

Therefore, the Undead King

declares that this land The Seventh Assault Garden is his Kingdom!

And therefore, all of the people who live here are my subjects.

Subjects who I must protect!

Thou art the sword that was given to me from heaven to redeem the world.

Thou art the sword born to rise against heaven

and destroy the world.

A sacred sword, blessed by the gods.

Blessed by the Goddess, the Devil's Sword.

With thee I will destroy my enemies.

The name that fell into darkness, The Demon Sword, Dáinsleif!

Leo!

The Demon Sword approved of Lord Magnus' decision!

Impossible!

Why does the likes of you have that sword?

Oh, so you can still feel fear!

You're too late.

The destined ruin of this world cannot be changed.

I will lay waste to fate with my own hands!

Logunas Kingdom's Secret Ryu Sword Technique!

Ragnaroast!

New Void appearances have stopped.

Remaining forces are being cleared one by one.

Have we made it through?

We protected the city.

I've confirmed the Void Lord's signal has disappeared.

The stampede shows signs of calming.

How is the magical furnace?

It seems to have stopped after the explosive release of energy.

You mean to say

the Void Lord was destroyed in the magical furnace explosion?

I can't believe how lucky we are.

The struggle of everyone who lives here brought good luck to us all.

Leo!

Leo, you're safe!

Milady Selia!

Regina!

I'm so glad you're safe!

Everyone!

18th platoon, we're all safe!

Ouch.

Damn it.

I'm a Dark Lord that feels sore.

The after-effects of using the powers sealed in the Demon Sword.

This body has its limits.

On top of that it used all of my magical power.

I bought some sandwiches.

Also this.

What is that?

They said it's an award.

The Sunny Spot kids made it for you.

I rashly decided I should protect these humans

despite being at war with them a thousand years ago.

Those who pay respect to the Dark Lord

should be protected no matter who they are.

B-By the way Leo.

Oh?

Um, when I use that Holy Sword it seems to consume my blood.

I assume it would.

That's why, you see...

I want some.

Weren't you going to resist the urge?

Stop teasing me.

I understand. Just a little.

I'm sorry.

Milady, how is the boy...

What!?

Regina!

M-Milady! What are you doing with the boy?

I-I umm...

We came to check in but it seems something uncouth was taking place.

Um, Selia...

That kind of thing goes against the dorm's rules.

It's not what you think! I was just nursing his wound!

I admire Milady's quick decision

to set sail upon receiving first report of the stampede.

I did not think it would be handled so quickly.

Shall we return?

No, as a member of the royal family

I will go thank the Holy Swordsmen who protected the Tactical City.

As you wish.
