The year 1994,

from out of the space comes a runaway planet

hurtling between the Earth and the moon,

unleashing cosmic destruction.

[wave crashing]

Man's civilization is cast in ruin.

[explosion]

Two thousand years later, Earth is reborn.

A strange new world rises from the old.

A world of savagery,

super-science and sorcery.

But one man bursts his bonds to fight for justice

with his companions Ookla the Mok

and Princess Ariel.

He pits his strength, his courage

and his fabulous sunsword against the forces of evil.

[growling]

He is Thundarr the Barbarian.

[instrumental music]

Ride to the summit.

[horse neighing]

The view of this valley is amazing.

[grams]

So peaceful, so quiet, so...

I take it all back, every word.

Dig faster, my faithful ones,

we have much more work to do this night.

[instrumental music]

Another piece of the Mighty One is found.

Ha-ha! Bring it up.

Lords of light!

It's like a giant robot hand.

[growling]

Humans!

Spies are among us.

Capture them! Capture them!

Why do you attack?

[whooshing]

Thundarr, any sign of Ookla?

The river currents have carried him off.

We'll follow him on this raft.

[instrumental music]

The river led us right into this lake,

but there's no sign of Ookla.

Mok footprints. He made it to shore.

He must've headed that way. Into that walled city.

- What're you doing? - We're going up.

Ookla's somewhere in that little village.

There he is!

[growling]

We caught you, you hairy ape.

You'll learn not to sneak into our village.

[grams]

[instrumental music]

[indistinct chatter]

Why do you defend that no-good spying ape?

Look again, little man.

Ookla is a Mok. Not one of the man-apes.

[grams]

I guess we made a mistake.

I'm Zet, mayor of the village.

I am called Thundarr.

My friends are Ookla and the Princess Ariel.

Join us for nectar, please.

We've been at war with the man-apes for untold ages.

We built a high-wall to keep them out.

Now Simias, their leader,

is rebuilding the Mighty One.

[grams]

An ancient ape warrior who will destroy our city.

Not if we can stop them. Come.

[instrumental music]

Look, over there by that old aeroplane.

[tools clanking]

Master Simias, wants us back with this immediately.

Another piece of this warrior they're building.

Back to our city.

[growling]

We will follow them back.

[grams]

[instrumental music]

The apes came this way. They're gathering down there.

What kind of place is this?

It's an ancient movie studio.

Studio? What is that?

It's...well, hard to explain.

Hurry. The next piece is under this building.

Excellent. Excellent! Ha!

Whatever the Mighty One is, he's very big.

The spies are back!

the warrior who shall claim the man-apes destiny.

The Mighty One!

[grams]

Lords of light!

He shall walk this very night and batter down the walls

that protect the puny humans.

A one ape wrecking crew.

And more than a match for Zet's tiny people.

We go now to raise the last pieces of the Mighty One.

Soldier, toss his weapon away. He'll have no further.

He'll have no further use for it.

[grunting]

No bonds can hold Thundarr for long, Simias.

No matter.

The creature that dwells in these ruins

shall take care of you.

[laughs] Farewell.

[fire blazing]

[roaring]

[intense music]

It's coming this way.

Ariel, your sorcery.

[grunting] I can't.

I need my hands free to work my magic.

[grams]

[screaming]

Hurry back, Thundarr. I'm getting lonely already.

Out of my way, lizard.

[roaring]

Now, creature.

Let's see how you fare against the sun sword.

[growling]

Not now. We've got to help Thundarr.

[chuckles] I see fear in your eyes, monster.

You have no taste for Thundarr's blade, eh?

[growling]

[thudding]

[shimmering]

That'll teach him to shoot off his mouth.

We can jest after we've dealt with Simias.

Hm, wouldn't it be more sensible to warn Zet

and the villagers first? Hmm?

It would. To the horses!

[instrumental music]

The Mighty One is whole again.

Now it shall do our bidding

and destroy our enemies.

[cackles]

Walk, Mighty One.

[instrumental music]

[heavy thudding]

Thundarr, look.

To Zet's village. Ride hard!

[heavy thudding]

[instrumental music]

The villagers were expecting us.

It will do them little good.

[roaring]

[clamoring]

No, nothing can be so huge!

[thudding]

[clamoring]

Ariel, Ookla, we strike!

[grams]

Thundarr!

[screams]

[Zapping]

[instrumental music]

[growling]

- Ookla! - Demon dogs!

[roaring]

[crashing]

[crumbling]

It's all over. The man-apes have won.

[heavy thudding]

Zet, get your people out of the city.

[instrumental music]

This way. Into the woodland!

They made it. Now can we go?

[instrumental music]

Our victory is complete.

[laughing]

[grams]

Thundarr, Ookla's back with us.

Good. We'll need your help, old friend.

To make Simias pay for this foul night's work.

The only way to attack the Mighty One is from above.

Well, this old crate is the answer then.

Ookla and I will pry it free.

Push, old friend,

with all your Mok might.

[grunting]

[growling]

I hope I can get it off the ground.

We'll have to get it to a clearing for takeoff.

[instrumental music]

Wish me luck. I never started a plane by magic before.

[engine sputtering]

Ariel: Contact!

[growling]

Hurry, Ookla! We have an appointment to keep.

[growling]

Here we go...l hope.

[whirring]

I did it. We're airborne.

[grams]

To Zet's village, hurry!

[instrumental music]

The humans have fled never to return.

The man-apes rule the valley.

Simias, look, up in the sky.

[whirring]

Make another pass. I'm going out on the wing.

[crackling]

Ariel, take me by him again.

[crackling]

Thundarr!

Ookla, the parachute, grab it.

Thundarr? What happened to Thundarr?

[instrumental music]

You haven't finished me yet, Mighty One.

[roaring]

[crackling]

[hissing]

[crashing]

He destroyed it. He vanquished the Mighty One.

[grams]

[shimmering]

[grams]

Ariel, you're safe. I was worried.

You were worried?

The night is over. And the man-apes rule nothing.

[instrumental music]

Simias and his apes have fled the valley.

You can rebuild your city.

And without walls this time.

[laughs]
