Narrator: Thundarr the Barbarian!

The year, 1994.

From out of the space, comes a runaway planet,

hurtling between the Earth and the moon,

unleashing cosmic destruction.

[wave crashing]

Man's civilization is cast in ruin.

[explosions]

Two thousand years later, Earth is reborn.

A strange new world rises from the old.

A world of savagery, super-science

and sorcery.

But one man bursts his bonds to fight for justice.

With his companions, Ookla the Mok

and Princess Ariel,

he pits his strength, his courage,

and his fabulous Sunsword against the forces of evil.

[roaring]

He is Thundarr the Barbarian!

Narrator: We now return with "Thundarr the Barbarian!"

[instrumental music]

[engines humming]

[music continues]

Warriors of the wizard Mindok,

to my side!

We go into the ruins,

into the Den of the Ice People!

A Wizard's war machine.

[growling]

What would he be looking for here,

in the ruins of a space center?

Something evil...

...or a wizard wouldn't want it.

[shouting]

Thundarr! No! You can't just rush in!

[growling]

Outvoted again.

[instrumental music]

Just casting a little light on the subject.

Thundarr: The sign, what does it mean?

Ariel: They did experiments here,

to test people for travel in space.

Space? What is space?

Man 1: You'll never know, human!

[whooshing]

Taste the fury of Thundarr!

Zoa: Your blade won't help you now, human.

Destroy!

[whooshing]

[growling]

[shimmering]

[crashing]

[whooshing]

[Zapping]

A splendid display, barbarian.

But now you face General Zoa,

servant of mighty wizard Mindok!

Now, you meet your end!

[shimmering]

You will never hold your sword again, barbarian!

No!

[instrumental music]

Leave, Zoa, while you still have your life!

Come on, boys. I'll show you to the door.

[wind howling]

[thudding]

Into the warcraft!

The barbarian will pay for this!

[instrumental music]

[engines humming]

- Demon dogs! - The war machine!

[growling]

The wizard, Mindok, will not be pleased.

You have trapped the Ice People

along with the barbarian.

Mindok has waited 2,000 years to find them!

He can wait a little longer!

[instrumental music]

Zoa will suffer for this.

Only if this place has a back door.

[growling]

Ookla!

Lords of light!

Thundarr: Humans encased in ice.

Frozen alive!

Probably for a space travel experiment.

Alive?

So this is what Zoa was after.

[shattering]

[yawning]

[screams]

Easy,easy.

I'm Dr. Kraft, and this is Dr. Harris.

We're scientists with NASA.

I am Thundarr, a barbarian.

She fainted. I guess she'd never seen a Mok before.

No, probably not. How long have we been asleep?

It's only a guess, 2,000 years.

[gasping]

[dramatic music]

[water splashing]

[engines humming]

You have failed me, General Zoa.

Gaze into Mindok's mirror.

See what you have done? Thundarr found the Ice People.

Soon they will all be free.

For this you must be punished, Zoa. Severely!

[thunder cracks]

I am Mindok,

supreme among wizards.

I have taught this to Zoa.

Now, Thundarr, too, must learn.

I see the sky! We are free!

- What on earth happened? - Ruins!

- It's all in ruins! - Bear with them.

The world's changed since they last saw it.

It'll be worse for them if the wizard shows up.

Come, into the forest, away from...

Mindok: Halt, Thundarr, where you stand!

The Ice People are to be my servants.

[electric crackling]

They are already in my iron stronghold.

Do not try to follow.

We'll not only try, wizard, we'll succeed!

[instrumental music]

Mindok: I needed you three for your own protection.

If I hadn't saved you from Thundarr...

- He seemed friendly enough. - He's a barbarian!

He can't be trusted! I will protect you!

If you'll use your scientific knowledge to help me,

build me a robot body

into which I can transplant my brain.

And if we refuse?

Then I won't protect you.

Not even from me!

[instrumental music]

There! Mindok's fortress!

Not very cozy, is it?

[growling]

[gurgling]

Fire Whales!

[intense music]

[roaring]

This is Mindok's work!

[roaring]

[roaring]

Back! Nice fishy!

- No eating before dinner! - Ariel!

[roaring]

[intense music]

Ariel!

Swim! I can't hold it for long!

Ariel: What about you?

That was too close for comfort.

[roaring]

[shimmering]

[crashing]

Two down, two to go.

[Zapping]

[instrumental music]

Are you alright, old friend?

[growling]

Ariel: Just what I always wanted,

a wet mop around my neck.

[Ariel grunts] Terrific.

From one gaping mouth into another.

The barbarian has a knack for survival.

Would you say so, Dr. Kraft?

- Well... - Do not fear.

He won't leave this fortress alive.

You will have my robot body completed tonight?

Tonight? We only began a few hours ago.

My ordeal began 2,000 years ago, doctor,

when I was human, like you.

[Zapping]

It will be done by nightfall.

Mindok: Thank you, doctor.

And I shall attend to Thundarr, long before then.

Whoa. He sure has a flair for decor, doesn't he?

[growling]

Even Zoa did not deserve this.

Mindok is more formidable than we thought.

Mindok: Is he, woman?

I am!

The old earth scientists serve me, Thundarr.

And you will be my prisoner forever!

[dramatic music]

The robot is completed, Mindok.

Excellent, Dr. Kraft.

And now I have a present for you.

They will never trouble you again.

And now, Dr. Kraft, behold!

Centuries ago, in the time of the Great Catastrophe,

my body was wounded beyond all healing.

But by means of this life support system,

my brain survived for 2,000 years,

and grew, as I learned sorcery as well as science.

[beeping]

Lords of light!

Mindok: Let the word go forth!

From this day forward,

Mindok rules the earth!

[Zapping]

- Demon dogs! - Behold!

The mightiest warship of them all!

Powered by the mightiest energy of them all!

[instrumental music]

The Mind of Mindok!

[whirring]

We must stop Mindok. We must strike all at once.

All in the same spot. Now!

[crackling]

Thundarr! Where are we?

No time for talk. Mindok must be stopped!

[instrumental music]

Mindok: Hear the voice of Mindok, humans!

The voice of your conqueror!

[screaming]

[Zapping]

There! Mindok's ship, ahead!

[crashing]

[horse whinnies]

[instrumental music]

[whinnies]

Hey, wait for us!

[shimmering]

[growling]

[instrumental music]

Intruders! It cannot be!

Now, wizard! We duel to the finish!

You're finished!

[Zapping]

[growling]

I've waited too long for this day!

I will not be defeated, barbarian!

[crackling]

You will not destroy my conquest!

- You will-- - I'll destroy you!

Fool! You cannot harm me!

Mindok's brain will live forever!

My body is but a machine!

[crackling]

The ship's out of control. We'll shoot right into orbit.

Wherever that is, Mindok shall go there alone.

[laughing]

You'll never escape, Thundarr!

We'll soon be miles above the earth!

[Zapping]

[instrumental music]

Dr. Kraft: Mindok will circle the earth forever.

It's exactly as he told you, Thundarr. He cannot die.

What of you three? Where will you go now?

First we'll try to help that city nearby get working again.

Then we take a hint from you three, do some exploring.

- Farewell, then. - Maybe we'll meet up again.

[growling]
