The year, 1994.

From out of the space, comes a runaway planet,

hurtling between the Earth and the moon,

unleashing cosmic destruction.

[wave crashing]

Man's civilization is cast in ruin.

[explosions]

Two thousand years later, Earth is reborn.

A strange new world rises from the old.

A world of savagery, super-science

and sorcery.

But one man bursts his bonds to fight for justice.

With his companions, Ookla the Mok

and Princess Ariel,

he pits his strength, his courage,

and his fabulous Sunsword against the forces of evil.

[roaring]

He is Thundarr the Barbarian!

Narrator: We now return with "Thundarr the Barbarian!"

[instrumental music]

[train whistle blows]

[steam hissing]

[horses whinny]

Lords of light!

What kind of beast is that?

[grams]

Ariel: Ookla, no. It's a train, it's not a beast.

It's a machine!

[dramatic music]

I want a closer look at this train.

Sure hope the passengers are friendly.

[horses galloping]

[growling]

There must be some way to slow this thing.

[hissing]

That was a Death Flower!

Its pollen has the power to numb the human will!

in the Death Flower fields.

By dawn, the Death Flowers will be on their way!

to defeat the humans beyond the swamp.

We follow the iron sticks until we find Ookla.

The barges must be loaded

before sunrise!

Back to the slime that spawned you!

[roaring]

Arak! No! Bad Arak! Go home!

[instrumental music]

[bubbling]

Your friend just tried to pull me apart, swamp urchin.

You must have frightened him.

Nothing could frighten that.

We were only looking for our friend, Ookla.

I'm Ariel. And this is Thundarr.

Ariel: What's your name? - I'm Tai.

- Is your friend a Mok? - You've seen him?

The Carocks had a prisoner. He was a Mok.

- Where have they taken him? Tai: I can show you.

[instrumental music]

Thundarr: The train? - So I can fend for myself.

I don't wanna be a swamp urchin all my life.

Ariel: A golden pyramid! It's incredible!

Tai: The Carocks' hidden valley

is on the other side of the mountain.

Maybe you can guide us through this maze,

so we don't need any more guards!

The Carocks grow the Death Flowers here.

The barges take them to the train,

and the train delivers them to the wizard.

Not after tonight, let's find Ookla and...

[hissing]

[whooshing]

[roaring]

Ookla!

He's under the spell of the Death Flowers.

He doesn't know me.

Back, old friend.

I don't want to harm you.

[growling]

[snarling]

[whizzing]

- Not bad. - It just takes practice.

[growling]

[swooshing]

Ookla, no!

[thuds]

[hissing]

Ookla, it's Ariel and Thundarr.

- We're your friends. - They lie.

Only Carocks are your friends.

[roaring]

[fire crackling]

The Death Flower fields!

Who has done this deed?

Come on, there's a path through the flames.

No! Not without Ookla.

[growling]

[instrumental music]

Ookla's ready to travel, courtesy my sorcery.

- Now can we get out of here? - This way!

[fire crackling]

Into the pyramid, the wizard will get his Death Flowers,

despite the humans' interference.

And the humans will never leave the pyramid alive.

What of Ookla?

Let's see if he's in a friendlier mood.

Oh! Easy on the ribcage.

[growling]

[engine revving]

The humans should be well inside the pyramid by now.

[intense music]

After the Carocks!

To the Wizard's fortress!

[train whistle blows]

Tai: They're gone, on their way to the wizard.

[whistles]

They'd better not wreck my train.

The Death Flowers! It's ruined!
