he pits his strength, his courage,

and his fabulous Sunsword against the forces of evil.

[horses galloping]

Ariel! Ookla! Ride harder!

We must clear these woods by dawn!

Are you serious? We're not going to stop for the night?

[grams]

It doesn't make sense.

We can't see two feet in front of us.

And these woods are crawling with man-eating beasts.

The wizards would not expect us to ride by night.

We are safer...

[roaring]

[growling]

[grams]

[horse whinnies]

[instrumental music]

[man moaning]

It belongs to the humans now.

A visit to our cellar

[Zapping]

The Groundlings' captive.

These woods are no place for an old man.

But I have a mission, lam Tyron,

courier of the Black Pearl.

who dwell in the ruins of Manhat.

[horse whinnies]

[horse whinnies]

To the ruins of Manhat!

The chieftain! Hail the chieftain!

Great Gemini,

your servant seeks your counsel.

Speak then, servant! Your master listens.

[stammers] Great Gemini,

we have failed to obtain the Pearl.

Tyron was stopped as you commanded,

but the Pearl travels on,

carried by a human called Thundarr.

A barbarian who fights like a demon.

Gemini: Fools!

Use the weapons I have given you.

Destroy the barbarian and recover the Pearl.

Or the groundlings will pay a terrible price.

[instrumental music]

What's wrong, Ariel?

You mean you're not wondering

about the Pearl's secret power?

Or why Gemini didn't come after it himself?

The groundlings and their motor steeds are finished!

Ariel: Ages ago, Thundarr, before the wizards,

there was another world on earth.

I read about it in my stepfather's library.

This must've been one of its greatest cities.

Humans lived here? They must have had wings.

But they are dead and gone.

And we must find the humans who live here now.

[growling]

They may be hiding in one of these tunnels.

Could this be a marker to the humans' hideaway?

[growling]

These tunnels go on for miles!

But we'll explore them all if need be.

Gemini: Your quest ends here, barbarian!

Give me the Pearl!

Thundarr: Gemini! - Place the Pearl here, fool!

Or you will never lay eyes on the woman again!

The woman, Ariel, is my prisoner, Thundarr.

Even now my knights are taking her to my stronghold.

Give me the Black Pearl if you wish to see her again.

[growling]

The Pearl, give me the Pearl or...

Or what? Your spell will fail again?

Go ahead! Destroy me, if you can!

Man 2: A lone human and a Mok.

And they smashed a battalion of Gemini's knights!

They were on our side.

Could it be that Tyron sent them?

If they return, we shall greet them as allies and friends.

So it must lie beyond Manhat.

[growling]

Gemini's stronghold could be anywhere.

The tallest tower must be Gemini's chambers!

to claim the Pearl.

And seal Thundarr's fate!

My wounds have healed, thanks to Ariel's magic.

Nothing to it. It's all in the wrist.

Have you brought us "Byron's gm, brave one'?

More than that. I've learned the secret of its power.

Then we shall all be saved.

[thunder crashes]

Demon dogs!

[screaming]

Don't look now, but we've been followed.

Thundarr! The Pearl cannot protect you all!

Return it to me,

or the others will feel my wrath!

We can't speak for the Manhats, Thundarr.

It must be their choice.

Gemini means what he says. The danger is great.

[Zapping]

will you allow all these humans

to pay for your folly?

Or will you surrender the Pearl?

Thundarr: The Pearl...

The Pearl!

[electric crackling]

[screaming]

[gasps] What happened?

The Pearl's power canceled out Gemini's sorcery.

The danger is over...for now.

Why so sullen, barbarian?

This is our day of victory.

To save our lives, I had to destroy the Pearl.

We may never be able to make another.

Not so, Thundarr.

Now that we know such a force does exist,

we'll search even harder to find the secret.

Time to go, Ariel.
