In this tutorial, I will demonstrate how to select items with the transparency feature

and the property adoption during connecting cables.

For this purpose, I have prepared an earth termination system according to IEC 62305

with a floor slab that is in contact with the earth.

Let's take a look at the transparency feature first.

To activate the transparent view, we select the building part, move to the properties

window on the left and set the transparency to yes.

Then we repeat this step for the floor slab as well.

Although we can already see the materials in and under the floor slab, once we want

to select them, we currently select the respective part of the building.

To change this, we switch to the CAD options, move to the system tab and check the box for

selection using transparent elements.

Then we confirm with OK and can now select the materials through the building parts.

Let's turn to the second part of the tutorial, the property adoption when manually connecting

cables.

If we want to connect two cables using this command, the connection is always done with

the material from the first selected conductor.

So if we connect the hot-dip galvanized steel strip to the stainless steel round wire, the

connection will be done with the hot-dip galvanized steel strip material.

We can also see the used material in our properties window on the left if we select the connection.

Let's delete this connection and connect again with the proper material, the stainless

steel round wire by first choosing the cable in the ground and then select the conductor

routing.

Again we can see the used material properties in our properties window on the left.
