All language subtitles for Film 21 Plan Dimensioning and Detail Views

In this tutorial, I'll demonstrate how to dimension in the plan management, how to create

different viewports and how to print the plan for documentation purposes.

To do that, I already opened the plan we created in the previous tutorial.

Let's start with creating a viewport to dimension our building.

The plan view works best for this purpose.

However, I changed the visualization to wireframe on shaded mode to better see the contours

of the building.

Then I move to the icon block dimension to activate the dimensioning command.

Here below we see the active command and the next step that is executed.

So I select the viewport that I want to dimension with the first click.

With the first click in our viewport, I can now define the first line of the inner dimension

line.

With the second click, I can define the area I want to dimension.

Our first dimensioning line here shows the dimension of the arrestor groups and the second

line here shows the values for the building parts.

How to change or adjust the settings for the dimension line is explained in a different

tutorial.

Let's dimension a second area and repeat the prior steps.

Again we see our two dimension lines, the first line dimensioning the arrestor groups,

the second one the building parts.

As a next step I want to create a detail view.

I can do that by selecting viewport and then detail view.

Now I can draw the window to the size of my preference.

I press and hold the command button and select all the parts I want to see in detail.

Then I click write and deactivate viewport.

Only the prior selected elements remain visible in our detail window.

I select the window frame and change from work to realistic view in our properties window.

Now I want to describe the detail and create a legend by selecting viewport and detail

legend.

The name can be changed in the properties window on the left.

If I select the legend I can click write and add positions.

When I select a part or the detail the article number and description are displayed in the

legend.

I can do that for multiple items and the number adapts automatically.

Creating a legend for our first window works in the same way.

But now I want to create a viewport that shows the area of protection and one that displays

the separation distance.

Then I click on viewport, create, select the scale and place the viewport on our document.

With a double click I activate the editing mode and change the view.

Then I select the window frame, click write, choose visibility and select the area of protection.

Now I repeat these steps to create a new viewport that shows the separation distance.

Now I check the relevant boxes for the separation distance and confirm with ok.

As a last step I want to create a PDF document for this plan.

Therefore I click on this printer icon here.

Then I select print to PDF and click on print.

Let's have a look on the created PDF.

Of course you also have the option to create multiple sheets in one PDF document.
