In this tutorial, I will introduce you to the basic CAD settings that you can preset
and edit in Deanplan.
In this example, I will change the settings for the currently open project.
If you want to make changes to the standard settings that are valid for several projects,
you can create different templates in Deanproject.
Once you create a new drawing, you can then choose between the different templates.
More information on that can be found in the Deanproject tutorial on managing templates.
Today I first want to talk about the system options.
You can either open the system options with this symbol, or you move to file, settings
and system.
We are now in the settings for the graphics system.
Activating the double buffering can help if your picture is flickering.
Let's move to the user interface tab, where you can edit the toolbar.
You can select the size of these toolbar icons here, and choose between large and small items.
Once you change the icon size, you have to restart the application for the changes to
be effective.
The button reset allows you to reset the settings to the status of a specific template or one
of the standard templates.
If you open the CAD options with this icon, you have the option to adapt the color settings
and adapt for example the background colors.
Checking the box for color gradient results in softer color transitions.
In the tab for the snap settings, you can adjust the snap distance.
This distance defines how close you must move your mouse cursor to another object such
as a corner of a building to automatically catch this object with your cursor.
This feature simplifies drawing and selecting objects.
In addition, you can configure the grid settings and manage the angle support function by adapting
the degree of the drawing support angle.
In the system tab, you can select if your projects should be autosaved and define the
interval for the automatic saving.
Earlier saved projects and project versions can be recovered if you select the tab File
and click on Restore.
Selecting the versions here gives you a preview of the selection in the right area of this
window.
Let's go back to the CAD options for the last point I want to mention.
In the tab Units, you have the possibility to define the units for length, areas and
volume in, for example, miles, feet, inch, millimeter or meter.
Furthermore, you can select your preferred settings for date and time in this section.
That's it for this tutorial.
Please check out the other tutorials for more information on different topics.
Thanks for watching.
