History helps us understand today's

world. Understanding history can broaden

our outlook on other peoples and

cultures. If we want to make

sense of today's modern society, we must

study history.

Now... Don't move! What's this?

Ah

Hey, stop there! Shut there!

Set it down. Who are you?Speak up.

We want to see the magistrate.

Sorry to have kept you waiting. I'm the

magistrate, Sir. I was not informed of

your impending a rifle. Please forgive me

for this oversight, Sir. Get up,

Sir.

I want to know about Yun Chun Yuan.

Who was it handled the assassination?

Well, you see, when I received the order

from Canton, I discussed it with a

number of my trusted colleagues.

In the end, I decided to supervise it

personally. Hmm

And I trust. That everything was

carried out to perfection.

Really, I don't deserve praise, sir.

You're telling me you don't deserve

praise, you stupid fool. Huh

Where do you think you are here?Out in

the American Wild West?Do you think that

some punk blasting away with a sick

shooter can get away with it?Are you

stupid?Please, I'm sorry, sir.

So who was the man who killed Yun

Chun-Yuan?Sir,

his name is Chen Ling. He was arrested by

the British and thrown in jail.

You're a very careless man. So you let

him get arrested by the British, hmm

Li Charge out. Sir,

go down to the city jail and liquidate

him. Understand, Sir.

Wait, Sir.

Make it a clean job. I don't want any

traces, you hear.

Next time, try to use some intelligence.

Yes, Sir. Sir, this

trip to Hong Kong. Why?

What purpose would it serve?

Namkong, give me the book.

The orders I've been given are to

eliminate one man only.

Doctor Sun. About 10 days

ago, he left Yokohama on a Japanese

freighter, Nahata Maru, bound for Hong

Kong. That's where we'll get him.

His ship should be arriving there any day

now.

Let me help you, Sir. Doctor Sun, good to

see you. Hello, Shelf. Hi. Good to see

you. Is everyone here?Yes, this way.

Overseas Chinese now realize how corrupt

the Manchu government is. It has

totally failed to repulse the foreign

invaders, and it's clear that the time

has come to rise up against the Manchu

tyranny, and the overseas Chinese

community is ready to help, either

financially or by deeds. I'm

worried.

We're at a critical stage, and I've heard

the Japanese have sent an agent.

His orders apparently are to have Doctor

Sun assassinated.

What can we do about it?

I wrote to him to try and stop him coming

here. But you know, Doctor Sun's prepared

to give his life for the revolution. But

we can't take any risks. We need him. Of

course not. Obviously, it's our duty to

protect him.

The thing is, how in God's name can we?

Look, we're in a British colony here, and

the Doctor is an international figure.

They wouldn't dare do anything out in the

open, I'm sure of it. I'm not

so sure of that. I hope the men you

brought are all good fighters. Well,

we could recruit some more men locally.

Yeah, right.

We must find the best men in China. Do

you have any ideas? They're men from

Chengwu.

Hey, waiter. Sir.

Waiter.

The check, please. Oh, the man already

paid it. Huh

Hey.

You're Changshou Pai, right? You write the

column in the paper. Right.

We met briefly once before. At the Ching

Wu contest. To be quite honest, I've been

looking for you for days. I was told that

you came here, so I decided to wait

around until you showed up. Oh, what

could I do for you?

Let's take a walk, shall we?Sure.

Doctor Sun is now in Hong Kong. There's

an agent called Tin who's also here. His

orders are to kill the doctor. So

we need your help. Well, of course, Sir.

I'd like to help.

However, I can't promise.

You see, I've got my own problems.

I see. What problems?

Well. My mother is old,

and I'm married now. We have a child.

I have responsibilities. Sure, of

course. You're right.

Well, I guess...

maybe your skills

were overestimated. I

refused, but that doesn't mean I'm a

coward.

No, it's just that

you don't know right from wrong.

I'm sorry. Please excuse me.

Goodbye.

There it is!

Take it! What is it?Get it!

What do you want?

What is that?Take it! Come

on!

You all right?Yeah, sure. ah

Get going. All right, sure, take care.

ohh Are

you all right?Fantastic, Kung

Fu. You were great.

Such great skill. It's a pity that it's

wasted. You sure you won't join us?

I'm sorry, sir. Goodbye.

Ah

That's not how you do it. All right.

huh Now you try it.

Hey, want a bite?Are

you joking?

Xiao Chang. Xiao

Chang, are you all right? He started it.

Oh, dear. Oh, dear.

Are you all right, dear? You shouldn't

encourage the child. Poor thing. A little

fall like that? It's not going to hurt

him. Come on. You've got to sit down now.

Come on, let's go inside. Come on,

sweetie. Look at your leg inside.

All right.

Here, here they are.

You stay here. Keep watch. You're right.

Hey, hey, hey, heyAny news?He's

just arrived. He's in there. Let's go.

You go up. Back to your position. Go on.

Mommy, I want some bean curd! Bean curd!

Hey, more sugar!

There you go, my.

Bean curd!

Get your fresh bean curd!

Damn it! Bean curd!

Yeah, yeah, we'll just wait.

Racing card! Get

your beef

gun away!

Come on! All right, let's go!

Wait, wait, wait for me! Thank you. Ohh

I'm very grateful. Very grateful. You're

welcome.

Fresh noodles.

Fresh noodles. One bowl, please.

Right. Sure. Mister, how come

you're selling noodles today?Oh,

my partner's sick. Oh,

here. Say, kid, what's your name?

My name's Shu.

Well, I happen to have a friend called

Shu, too. Maybe my friend is your

father, huhWhat's your friend's

name?My friend's name is Shu

Taichung. No, my dad's called

Shuyujun. Oh,

Shuyujun.

Here. No, it's on me. No, you must

take it.

hmm My Lord, I think we found out

something. What's that?Shu Yu Chun's a

rebel. I'm also pretty sure Shu Yu Chun

is the son of Shu Jun Chu, who was

arrested for sedition, and who is now in

jail. Which jail?Incant

answer.

Let's go.

Open the door. Sir.

Get up. Move it. What

are you shouting for?Oh, man. Sir.

So, didn't you?You see, his lordship has

come to visit you in person. This is a

great honor for

you. Thank you. All right, Sergeant.

Release this man. Sir.

Come in.

Sit down, please. Please

May I inquire of Your Excellency this

great honor? To what do I owe it?

You may, and I'll give you an answer.

All I require is for you to write your

son and ask him to come to Canton.

Uh-huhI have not seen my son

since I've been imprisoned.

It's been 20 years. I have

no idea where he is. You don't have to

worry about that. Just write down what I

instruct you to. You've locked me away

for 20 years. Why can't you just leave my

son alone?Jujun Chu,

the Empress, she's in need of your

services. Are you kidding me?

I don't believe you. Mr. Chan,

please tell him the truth.

Your son is working with the insurgents.

You mean my son's a rebel?Yes, he's

wanted for treason.

That's wonderful. That's my boy.

What's so funny?

The Han Chinese shall never bow down

to the Manchu tyrants.

It's every nationalist patriotic duty

to fight against oppression.

And now I know my son

is a patriot.

Guards. Yes, sir.

Take him away.

Write in the letter. Go on.

No. I won't.

Never. All right, torture him!

Ah

Mr. Shu?Mr. Shu?

Yes, Mr. Shu, we've decided to make a

break for it. Won't you come with us too?

No, thanks. But please do me one

favor. I have a son.

His name's Yu Chun. He's now living in

Hong Kong. If you find him,

please give him this, would you?

Right, Mr. Shoe, but you...

Just go now. Mr. Shoe.

Mr. Shoe. Mr. Shoe.

Please go quickly. Tell my

son to devote

himself to the revolution.

How do you feel?Oh, much better.

Good.

How much, doctor?Oh, oh, no, that's all

right. Oh, no, I insist. Hey,

spring is coming. You'll need to buy some

seeds. Thank you. Goodbye.

Sir, are you a patient? No, I'm Ma. Look,

Doctor, I just escaped from Canton

Prison. You just escaped from prison?Keep

your voice down. Yes, Sir, I was in

prison and I was with your father.

HuhHere. He asked me to give you this if

ever I found you.

Won't you come in, sir?

Mother, recognize this?

Oh, it's your father's. Where'd you get

it?This man. He's come from Canton.

Oh, you've seen him?Yes.

Where is he?

He gave me this letter to give you. Oh.

He's sick. He says it's consumption.

He's feeling quite weak, but he's not in

danger. He says he hopes we can move back

to Canton very soon. And

And take care of him.

Go back to Canton?Is

it safe?I hear the Emperor is thinking of

an amnesty. Your husband could be

released very quickly. Mr. Ma, you've

come such a long way. Won't you stay for

dinner? No, thank you. I have to go

now. Now wait.

Have you a place to stay?Yes, thank you.

Please tell me where you're staying. I'd

like to call on you if it's convenient.

Well, I'm staying with a friend, so it's

better I come to your place. Goodbye.

Please.

Do you think he's lying?

Well, this does belong to my husband.

Hello. Good to see you again.

I've got the letter. Read it.

All right. They can't fill us with this

trick. They idiots.

What?You should meet someone.

Over there.

Hey,

thanks for coming. Yu Chen, this is

Wu Ying. I'm pleased to meet you, Mr. Xu.

Your father asked me to bring you

something, Sir. HuhHow is he?The Manchus

tortured him, but he wouldn't kowtow.

So they killed him, Sir. This is for you.

It's better to die a Han than live as a

man who slayed. Never forget them, my

son. The people must rise up

and drive out the foreign invaders. China

must be restored to its former glory.

Mr. Show.

You.

You say you're a close friend of my

father's?That's right. Come

here!

See this?You see this?

Huh Well, who sent you here?

Speak up.

Please, don't kill Nugen! Talk! Who

sent you?Well... There was a

magistrate...

Calm down. It's pointless killing him.

Just forget it.

And how the hell did he find out?

You incompetent fool. Our plan has been

compromised. We'll never get him to

cooperate with us now.

My Lord, you turn as a filial son.

If we were to kidnap his mother, I'm

quite sure we'd get him to surrender.

I'll discuss the idea with Lord Tien.

My lord. What?I think he'll find Lord

Tien is very busy. Whoring again, huh

Well, frankly, I don't give a damn.

Mother! Mother! Mother!

ah

Stop that man.

yeah

Stop!

Master! Master!

This is a British colony here. You're not

in China now. You're not allowed to kill

people here. Umm

Yeah.

I'm not hungry. Why don't you give it to

Ching?He needs it.

I'm all right.

What's the matter, dear?You're crying.

It's not serious. Don't worry. I'm OK. In

a few days, I'll be up on my feet again.

Why don't you go home to the child, hmmOh,

no. Cherry home. Hi.

Xiaofai, how are you?Fine. How are things?

Well, we've moved our headquarters to

Ching Wu. My staff has everything ready

and in place. Good. We're only waiting

for Dr. Sun's orders. Where's the doctor?

Uh, he's out walking. Leave your bag

here. Right. We'll go find him. Sure.

Dr. Sun! Over there. It's

Choi Hong. Oh.

Huh

What?Those magic bastards

Take care of the doctor. I can handle

him. All right, careful.

Hold it!

Kill him!

Get him.

Huh

yeah

Let's go.

Wait.

Choi Hong just came from Ching Wu. Now

that he's here, you can rest peacefully.

I have failed on my

mission. Please forgive me.

Yu Chun, it wasn't your fault. What

happened happened, all right?I heard

about your mother died. I'm very sorry.

Her death affected you and your Kung

Fu. Yu Chun.

See that candlelight?It burns

steadily. It

never moves, so I don't move.

If it moves, then I move first.

Right. If you move

first and keep your cool,

then no man is unbeatable.

Right.

Now, if he leaves the Red Pavilion byboat,

he has to pass Castle Peak here.

We're here, passes here, and here's

where we attack.

I have information that his next stop

is Nan King

Weiping. Yes, Sir. What

we want to know is

which day is he leaving? We'll be leaving

tomorrow. This trip to Nanking

is very important. Yu Chin, we're

depending on you. Yes. Don't worry, Mr.

Chan. You can count on me. I promise.

I won't let you down, Sir. Good. Good

luck, Mr. Chan. Thank

you.

Master Xu Ching, it's time to leave.

Right. You're back. Here. Where's Xiogao?

He's sleeping.

Must you leave?

Please don't cry. You're going to wake

him up, dear.

You'll come back,

I promise. What?

You don't. And what?

Then you'll just have to try and carry on

without me, dear.

You name. You know I'd like to stay here

with you. My family means

everything to me,

but. I can't stay. I'm

a man of honor. See, I

love my wife and my child,

but I also have to think of my country.

I hope you can understand that and just

be proud of me. So when our son

grows up and if I'm not

around, just tell him that

his father was a brave man and a Chinese

patriot.

Don't get up. Stay with him. I'll see

myself out.

Come back safely. I'll do my best.

Take him alive!

You're drinking again. Hey,

see anyone?No, No one.

You're so drunk, you couldn't see your

own dick to pissHonestly!

My lord, we've been

tricked, I think. They must have taken

another route. Let's

get going. Sir, come on!

yeah

Farewell, and good luck.

Ching.

Ching. Ching.

oh

Yichun!

Yichun!

Yichun!

The doctor, he got away.

I hope Channon's OK. Yeah, so do I.

He's coming through as good. I'm sure

Chen will be fine.
