something like this was bound to happen

this is Kay we don't know what's

happened how many things he could do to

make a living like what well like a um

teaching maybe he'd probably be very

good at it too but what would it prove

who says it has to prove anything

except that he's just as good as anybody

else it that he can uh

what better convulsions function yeah

well he has to do more than that why

because he is more than that

we're gonna miss our cold

yes

you haven't another nightmare yeah

doctor said they'd probably recur until

the effects of the drug wheel off who

would have done such a thing until we

met why ah sleep overnight keep an eye

on and you go home and get some rest

just got my head on straight yet you

hadn't remembered anything nothing after

I got into that cab what about getting

home I must have really tripped out it's

a blank till I woke up him dead

oh wait up and around

fine sure my kids do oh I do

okay well I'm devouring mrs. Kane's

breakfast I'd I'd be there but you know

listen Duke when you get a minute when

you start going through the file I

already have have you any idea how many

cases we worked on together about nine

hundred and two that's not far off Mike

it's gonna be slow tedious I know but

it's a beginning has to be someone with

an old grudge current event yeah okay

I'll see you hey take it easy and

speaking of a beginning there's that

call from the Foundation for the blind

what it's from him and it was a woman's

voice hey how do I ever call Nora I was

going that night I was I'm in the paper

Oh thank you yeah I want you to check

out that drug they gave me we got into

that last night the doctor borrowed some

of your blood the lab will let us know

doesn't figure all things considered

pretty easy to kill Oh Mike I mean it

somebody went to a lot of trouble send

me out more than I had to

yeah I see what you mean who why well

that's she

they stole a cab tied up the driver oh

well we talked when it was a dead end

how'd they steal the cab he called for

not the driver out when came to the door

wait was a woman who opened the door

he can't describe we didn't pay any

attention well then we know one thing

for sure what she wasn't beautiful

what's wrong nothing

where we going I want to talk to you

I don't want you coming around here I

need this job you're a good nurse any

hospital hurry alright what is it man

what about Ben yeah I've been to see him

I don't want to see him all of a sudden

he killed that guard how do you expect

me to act the guy came at him the gun

went off that's all

bloods on your hands - you got him into

- it don't you think I know that all I - want to do now is help him any way I can

Buy more killing

no by getting you this go see Ben to

talk to make him feel you care about

what happens - does anybody care about

what happens to me if they find out that

I stole that drugs now I helped you to

kill that man mom listen hey we didn't

kill anyone

you hear that we didn't kill anyone now

you remember that that was an accident

and we don't know anything about any

drug you're hurting me

you listen to me you listen real good as

you don't have the idea yet you don't

get it it's Ben

man you hear me then the man you're

supposed to love now if that doesn't

ring any bells for you he's my brother

now you go see Ben alright

Ramsey Wilson no no you shot to death

during a bank robbery yeah what about

Sullivan Joe Salim right I'm supposed to

be in prison somewhere he is in prison

hi Duke

all right there's Impossibles here but

not like Lee's and that's just about

what we've got well tell me how's you

feeling hey I'm right here I don't trust

you to answer me truthfully

well the doctor says he should be

feeling better and stronger he should

also be taking it easy all right so it's

not an old grudge

what about current events dude that's

taking it easy what about it dude yeah

there are four or five things hanging

fire you can take your best shot

oh listen lab the drug probably came

from a hospital some new experimental

stuff that ring any bells

what is it Mike

bits and pieces flashing through my mind

only I can't connect him you will when

what it's in pieces I don't know what's

what's real and what's imaginary let's

see if we can sort it out in the cab no

door handle on my side that's how they

found it all right one in reality Co

what else an impressionable of a woman

what he's saying

perfume me how's she doing I'm not sure

anyone else no no just the guy who came

to the door the driver to man they put

me someplace there I don't know time for

your nap Oh mrs. Kingston I've already

tried it's either that our fish cakes

three times a day all right I'll just

rest for a little while like we have a

court appearance on Wednesday I'm gonna

ask for a postponement Court yeah a

preliminary hearing I'm gonna postpone

it no no clothes on Madhu

I'll let Mike know do

you catch something no there's nobody

fourth said he wouldn't show up before

it right guru backs down airing won't

come to order

are the attorneys ready the defense is

ready your honor

state is ready your honor proceeding we

call mr. Duke page we were checking

additional security needs

the ostrich jewelry company mr.

Asteroids wanted to increase his

insurance who was with you mr. Page mr.

Óscar it's his manager and Mike

Longstreet can you define mr.

Longstreet's capacity he's an insurance

investigator he does a lot of work for

my company

any particular reason he's gone during

our tour of inspection shipping a ride

gold platinum and silver about $200,000

worth as was being transferred from the

truck that was hit hit yes two gunmen

held up the driver in the guard

did anyone get a good look at the

thieves Your Honor excuse me did you get

a good look at the thieves not a good

one no they wore masks were there any

shots fired mr. Page yes the guard made

a move one of the gunmen called a

warning and he shot him mr. Page did you

hear the words of warning not clearly no

and the gunman got away

yes Thank You mr. page now mr.

Longstreet would you say that you were

nervous when you realized that a robbery

was occurring yes someone right

well that's understandable

you were nervous and frightened when

you're nervous and frightened you're apt

to make mistakes

objection your honor sustained and yet

you can positively identify one voice as

the voice of the man who participated in

the robbery had supposedly shot the

guard the court wishes to make it clear

it is times two Longstreet that these

are not the same as the tapes you

listened to earlier these are samples of

several different men talking one of

them the voice of the man you identified

is the defendant now the recording

procedure has been supervised by the

district attorney's office and the

Council for defense and further agreed

that you may listen to the complete tape

place if after that you want to hear a

voice again it be played back for you

separately as often as you wish any

further questions mr. Longstreet mr.

Longstreet no no your honor

number one there are several houses on

the same block that are similar to ours

but only ours is a red roof and brick

chimney she was 14 when she fell from a

swing in the backyard number two or when

you're working for a large company it's

not easy to have a friendly relationship

with the foreman number three and if I

had to choose well I guess I take the

convertible yeah thank you sweet

let's read play a baseball like this it

makes for something i matter mr.

Longstreet excuse me they please the

court the witness has not been feeling

well mask your continuance very well

your honor

this hearing is continued until Friday

at 10:00 a.m. he thought he'd be dead

he's alive what if he remembers by

Friday then he'll be dead let me get

this straight you think your nightmare

had something to do with the hearing

right if I can identify been coddled

voice and stands trial for armed robbery

first degree murder that's a pretty good

reason to try and stop me

- but he's been in jail he's got a brother - older brother

Too bad that cat private didn't get a

look at whoever slug them doesn't matter

Oh as I'm starting to remember thank you

Mike

and again hi

have you heard out French theory it's

more than that

find out me in coddle has a girlfriend

who works in a hospital she's a nurse

she had access to drugs alright

something but not much I'm afraid no

proof I figured they'd take me somewhere

drug blind some R&D had to kill myself

trying to get out there was a girl at

the hearing sitting with Dennis brother

was she beautiful no beautiful but I got

to do with it there's another little

piece of the puzzle do anyone I want the

transmission was shot the jerk didn't

mind

there's a tear on my side of the seat

drop me off at the corner of Chartres

made into the courtyard man passed out

where did he pick you up all right I'm

not sure was earning rent that was a

truck an older truck maybe was early and

I did you a favor okay

but I'll be a favor I mean how far out

of his weight he go to grab you all I

smelled something like tobacco garlic

and vegetables

can we ask you a few questions please

WT community

well I must be Nick could secrets Iran's

vegetables in here a couple of times

away from his truck car we're going to

find him once he's done he's helped a

friend of mine I'd like to thank him and

repay him if I can I was fond not

Miranda or someplace wherever they took

me to be somewhere near the place Nick

pick me up first you don't remember so

good and second there's no telling how

much ground you covered before Nick

- almost ran you over good does it really - matter I think it does I think there's a

Connection between where they took me

and who took me I'm gonna make that

connection before the new hearing date

why because he makes his living as an

insurance investigator and his

credibility is in doubt that's right as

dad I was a job I was a living well you

could always settle in some artists

colony and sculptor living now you sound

pessimistic Nicky no optimistic I'm

sorry oh it's the vegetables I guess

they're done so are the steaks

Hey

I remember you should be hey welcome

back okay

it all fits but can you prove it

here she comes Mike down the sidewalk

hello miss Pierce who are you guy you

jammed a needle into I don't know you I

know you know your perfume your voice no

you don't how could you is it tremor

there and your voice you're frightened

like I was that night you've made a

mistake Ben's brother talked you into

this you don't know anything you can't

prove anything I think I can't

you'd be spot just to go back to that

courtroom and stay confused about whose

voice you heard why

look I had a nice simple life before I

met thinning and then friends

now the only one who's nipping out after

me is me that's that's not all because

I'm not gonna be confused when I go back

to that courtroom I'm gonna hear Ben's

voice and I'm gonna know it

why why do you keep pressing when all

it'll bring you is more pain Ben's

brother was in the army wasn't a

prisoner of war I don't know I think I

do you see I'm human I don't like what

he did to me you know what he did I told

you I don't know what you're talking

about

- one-lane does he work near the - waterfront miss Pierce

Salsa welder he works for some salvage

company

stop

what do you want are you doing here I

came to tell you something what I

remember accent you picked the wrong man

Dolph the wrong time the wrong place in

my life

I can understand your brother getting

the trouble I can understand you're

trying to help them

what you did to me that I can't

understand

you should just kill me

you

you
