West Tokyo Tournament final.

Inashiro versus Seido.

In the bottom of the seventh inning, Seido was defending.

Tanba-kun had been pitching well after switching with Furuya-kun,

Furuya

but something terrible happened to him.

And in perhaps the most important part of the game,

Coach Kataoka chose to go with...

Pitcher, Sawamura-kun.

Sawamura.

Tanba.

We won't let it end here.

We'll give you...

...another chance.

We'll put you back on the mound again!

I hope you know your job.

Your job isn't to pitch well.

It's to pitch with energy.

The Kings of Summer

Strike!

What's with his form?

I can't see the ball!

Strike!

What? Again?

Another inside pitch?

Three consecutive pitches...

...to the inside?

You little... Don't get cocky!

In the final of the tournament,

Sawamura-kun pitched confidently after taking Tanba-kun's spot.

His sucess gave Seido a chance.

Coach Kataoka's pitcher relay

may not have gone as he intended,

but it was ultimately a success.

The top of the eighth was a turning point for Seido.

If we continue to play like we have,

we can't win.

Swing with your normal form until the end!

Finally after seven innings,

could this be the spark Seido needed?

Well hit, Furuya!

Leave the rest to me!

touch

A successful sacrifice bunt!

Mei!

First base! Safe!

One out with runners on first and third!

A squeeze bunt after two strikes?

First base!

Seido Inashiro

Seido finally scores in the eighth inning!

And a runner is still on second!

Pinch hitting for the second batter and baseman, Ryosuke Kominato-kun,

is Haruichi Kominato-kun.

Smack the first pitch, Haruichi.

You've got this.

It's a hit!

Both left and center ran for it but were a step away!

Pinch hitter Kominato hit one into the left while breaking his bat!

Thanks for setting up the stage for me!

Isashiki fought for a walk!

He's reacted well to both a forkball and a high ball.

Mei's fastball is definitely at its peak.

The pitch that could make it even better...

...is his change-up.

I can hear you all loud and clear,

even if you don't scream.

It's the ace's job to meet everyone's expectations.

I still have to redeem myself at nationals.

So I'll...

I'll perfect this pitch right here, and...

...we'll go to nationals!

A change-up?

Yes!

We've got him off balance.

Yeah!

Carlos!

Come on!

Both the second and third base runners scored!

The cleanup turned the game around with a clean hit!

Yuki's RBI double in the eighth inning

finally puts Seido on top!

Narumiya-kun tried to finish with his change-up,

but Yuki-kun got a beautiful hit off

and managed to turn the game around.

In the bottom of the eighth,

Miyuki-kun made a bold call with a runner on base.

If he's telling me to throw it, then he trusts me, right?

That I can do it.

Inside.

Right where I wanted it!

Out!

It's a double play!

We go into the next inning!

Inashiro couldn't score in the bottom of the eighth!

They got a runner on base, but then went down after three batters!

What happened in the eighth inning was crucial for both teams.

For Inashiro, their ace unbelievably gave up three runs.

For Seido, Sawamura-kun managed to keep Inashiro down.

With no outs, there's a runner in scoring position!

Can't make third!

Then, Inashiro's infielders gathered around the mound.

Infield all in?

Yeah.

Watch out for their squeeze bunt.

We still have a chance to bat.

Let's defend this inning and switch to offense on a high note!

Yeah.

It's not hot enough.

The mound at nationals

was much hotter.

Much...

Much...

Maybe it's because I always imagined myself at the nationals...

And I know it sounds strange after giving up four runs, but...

Seido Inashiro

I can't picture us losing.

I can't picture us losing this game.

Oops! Did I worry you?

Does it sound like I've gone crazy?

Narumiya-kun is undoubtedly the true ace of Inashiro.

I'm still stuck in last summer.

You guys don't know what nationals is like.

Unless I...

Unless I go to nationals again,

my summer season will never start.

Out!

Seido doesn't get the run!

Strike out!

His change-up comes through!

The crowd is going wild about the ace who pitched all nine innings!

And we went into the bottom of the ninth.

If Seido managed to persevere,

they would make the nationals for the first time in six years.

Listen up!

They're coming after a run with everything they've got.

Be careful about getting each out!

Don't think you've won until the very end!

Yes, sir!

On the other hand, if Inashiro couldn't score,

they'd be denied their trip to the nationals.

Well?

Do you have a clear vision of our victory?

Yes, sir!

Listen up.

We don't need two runs.

Just get one run.

If we go into extra innings,

we will win.

Bottom of the ninth.

Three more outs until the game ended.

There was immense pressure on everyone.

In order to live,

I have to beat them!

I can't lose.

I can't...

...let them overwhelm me!

Harucchi!

Out!

Two more outs.

Bad pitch!

Foul!

If you give me a nice one, I'm gonna hit it.

What drives you so much?

Why do you fight so hard?

I don't know what the nationals are like,

but if I run away here,

I feel like I'll never be able to pitch.

I'm not running away!

Yes!

At last, with just one more out,

Seido would go to nationals.

One more out! One more out!

We've got this.

We're gonna win!

We're gonna make it!

Hanshin Koshien Stadium

We're going to nationals!

I can't be overwhelmed.

Sawamura!

Finish it!

Shirakawa-kun!

I can't run away here!

Further...

Further in!

Hit by pitch!

The HBP of Doom.

The pressure of pitching in the final inning of the tournament final

was too much for a first-year to handle.

Then Kawakami-kun took the baton to close the game.

I won't run away.

I'll get aggressive, just like you did.

Two outs and a man on first at the bottom of the ninth!

Kawakami has taken the mound to get the final out for Seido.

Here's his first pitch.

A strike to the outside!

Pitch two!

A slider dodges the bat!

He has quickly cornered the batter!

Yoshi-san!

Come on, Yoshi-san!

His third pitch goes in a little high.

The slider to the outside is a ball!

Good eyes!

You've got this!

Just one pitch would decide the game.

Ball!

He fought for a walk!

That's two walks in a row for Seido at two outs.

With a runner in a scoring position, the cleanup is at bat!

But Seido would not back down.

Let's trust the work we've put in.

If we play the baseball that we've practiced...

Let's go!

Yeah!

...results will follow naturally!

We can't win if we stay passive.

Give me one to the inside.

I'll end it.

I'll end the game.

Safe! Safe!

Home!

Crap!

Miyuki!

He scores!

Inashiro ties the game

at the last second!

Inashiro has tied up the game at the last second.

It's not over!

Switch gears!

Defend this inning and segue into the next.

Don't forget what you have to do now!

That's right.

It's not over.

Get your chin up.

The game isn't over yet.

No way!

No!

No!

The West Tokyo tournament final was seized by Inashiro.

Narumiya Loses Steam After 14 Innings

Inashiro took second at the summer nationals.

I'm excited to see the fall season with new teams.

Inashiro, Seido,

Ichidai, Yakushi, Teito...

There are many strong schools.

The fall tournament will also lead to nationals.

Now, the battle for the top begins once more.

The fall tournament finally begins.

We're up against Teito from East Tokyo first.

They made to the round of 16 in the summer nationals,

and their ace is a first-year named Taiyo Mukai.

A first-year?

I'm the best pitcher in my generation.

We're gonna win!
