[Episode 25]

Yu Lian! Wait for me.

Don't be angry, okay?

Do you like to cook? I love to cook.

I've learned several delicious recipes lately.

I already told you not to follow me.

Who said I was following you?

I already told you that I don't like your type.

What type of men do you like, then?

I can work hard on it.

He's my type. Can you compare to him?

Just you wait. I won't lose to you.

Don't misunderstand me. I'm not you.

I... What's wrong with me?

I don't like men.

I don't like women either.

Aren't you usually pretty carefree?

How could someone stay carefree all the time?

Both love and hate are forms of the Three Poisons.

A good person will change when they make contact with it.

Is it the same for love?

Love will make people selfish while hatred will make people grim.

Everyone who makes contact with them will lose their humanity.

Love can conquer selfishness and defeat hatred too.

You should stop thinking that love can conquer hate.

It might be the other way around.

The more happiness your partner is able to provide to you right now,

the more pain and suffering they'll deliver to you in the future.

Now, you can sleep and eat well, right?

You should stay this way forever.

If you don't want things to turn out for the worse,

you should never try to make contact with them.

Jiang Ci.

Coming.

♫ Like plucking a red bean, I'm deeply in love with you ♫

♫ A flower of love blossoms and never withers in love ♫

♫ Fold a kite, let it fly with the wind into sweet dreams ♫

♫ Our beautiful moments endure through time, and we never part ♫

♫ My love witnesses the sun rising and the moon setting ♫

♫ Your silhouette is still vivid in my mind ♫

♫ Two hearts bound to each other ♫

♫ Like flowing water from afar, love and hate are endless ♫

♫ I only hope your heart lasts as long as the Heavens and Earth ♫

♫ I realized you're still there when I turn back ♫

♫ Those wonderful times feel just like yesterday while I hold your hand ♫

♫ Our time together is cherished, and our memories are everlasting ♫

♫ Fold a kite, let it fly with the wind into sweet dreams ♫

♫ Our beautiful moments endure through time, and we never part ♫

♫ My love witnesses the sun rising and the moon setting ♫

♫ Your silhouette is still vivid in my mind ♫

♫ Like flowing water from afar, love and hate are endless ♫

♫ I only hope your heart lasts as long as the Heavens and Earth ♫

♫ I realized you're still there when I turn back ♫

It must reflower again and give them hope.

♫ Our time together is cherished, and our memories are everlasting ♫

Young Master, you're finally back.

What happened?

The Winter Clothes Festival is over.

It's time to lure out the Yans using that lass.

Young Master, you've seen it for yourself.

Our tribe members still hate the ex-city lord to the core.

He's still waiting for you to redress his grievances.

Young Master, we haven't accomplished our mission yet.

You mustn't let that girl lead you by the nose.

- Young Master... - Spread the word.

Tell them that Jiang Ci is in Yueluo.

Yes, Young Master.

This time, our attack on Yueluo must achieve victory swiftly.

We can't afford to delay the situation.

My Lord.

The court has already allocated our military provisions for the month.

I assume His Majesty isn't up to something this time.

You don't understand Xie Che at all.

This is just a diversion. He just wants to keep me in check.

My Lord, if you head back, I'm afraid you have to surrender the Zhenyuan Army to him.

However, if you don't head back, you'll be going against the imperial edict

once enough time has passed.

His Majesty will have an excuse to deal with you no matter what.

To him, I'm but a dog as long as Dalang is in his hands.

However, I'm not that easily manipulated.

I will let the world know that the Zhenyuan Army is the most essential part of Liang State.

Only then will we be able to protect everything we own.

My Lord, do you mean...

General Zhang Zhi Cheng saw through the Yueluo Tribe's plot, yet he was still harmed by them.

Today, I will root out the conspirators, and take down Yueluo on Liang State's behalf.

Even if the flowers I grow today cannot survive, I still have these just in case.

I wonder how long it'll take, for the flowers I planted today to bloom.

Shameless Cat? Are you around?

Shameless Cat? Shameless Cat?

He's not around?

Great. I can prepare a surprise for him.

The clay cat?

But I remember that I gave him a fake one.

What are you doing?

What are you doing here?

It's more than just a token.

My master gave it to me as a birthday gift when I was six.

What's going on?

Explain yourself, then.

Are you afraid that I might leak your secret, and jeopardize your plan?

I don't want you to leave.

I'm worried that you might not return upon meeting your master.

I might not hear from you again.

Can you stay if I return the clay cat to you?

Let me think about it.

General Lu.

We can't go on an expedition before receiving any military orders.

I've found out that Yueluo has malicious intentions. They intend to rebel.

Do you expect me to stand idly by, and allow them to trample upon His Majesty's head?

By the way, Pei Yan, I heard that you were a brilliant military strategist.

What about this? Why don't you join me in battle?

What's wrong?

Are you hiding something?

General Lu, I shall gladly oblige.

Excellent.

Soldiers, heed my orders!

- Yes, sir! - Yes, sir!

Yueluo is harboring malicious intentions.

They've assassinated one of our generals!

I will never allow such a rebellious tribe to damage the reputation of Liang State!

For tomorrow's battle, none shall be kept alive!

Take Yueluo down in one fell swoop!

- Yes, sir! - Yes, sir!

Wang Lang, lead a group of elite troops, and disguise yourselves as members of Yueluo Tribe.

Enter Yueluo City through the back, and launch a two-pronged attack with the main army.

Yes, sir!

Take Yueluo down! None shall be left alive!

What is General Lu up to?

He's using Yueluo as an excuse to render military merit.

If this battle does happen, he'll have an excuse not to return to Qingkang.

He's so devious.

Do we need to stop him?

General Lu's reckless actions aren't detrimental to me.

However, once the battle begins, I'm afraid Ci will...

An Cheng, find an opportunity to take Ci with you

when the Zhenyuan Army enters the city through the back.

Yes, My Lord.

None shall be kept alive! Take Yueluo down!

None shall be kept alive! Take Yueluo down!

You already lied to me.

I'll decide what to do after finding Master.

Can you stay if I return the clay cat to you?

Miss, have some tea.

Wu Xia! Wu Xia!

Wu Xia! We're in trouble!

We just received news that Lu Yu is attacking Yueluo!

Lu Yu is getting desperate.

He's trying to remain in Liangzhou by using his attack on us as an excuse.

Wu Xia, you should leave.

If Lu Yu does attack us, this place will become a battlefield.

If he captures you, your identity will be exposed.

Uncle, what plans do you have?

I won't let the Zhenyuan Army bully our tribe members again.

Since the main Zhenyuan Army is here, his rear must be vulnerable.

I plan to circle around to his rear, and burn his military supplies.

I'll do it.

I can depart from Tongfeng Bridge, find the group of troops we hid in Mount Niutou,

and head to Liangzhou directly.

- I'll join you. - No. You mustn't.

Lu Yu is devious, cunning, brutal, and unpredictable.

The more help we have, the better.

Go now.

Check our equipment for the last time.

General, everything is ready.

We can't afford to let Yueluo see through our disguise.

Once we're inside, go into hiding.

Once you hear the signal, act immediately, and open the gate from the inside.

For this battle, only victory is allowed.

Yes, sir.

So, they're members of the Zhenyuan Army.

General, a group of Yueluo troops are coming here from the other side.

Delay the operation.

What's wrong?

It's too quiet to be true.

Something's off.

Stop being paranoid.

Hong Jie...

You're so hesitant. Wait until Lu Yu reaches our doorstep?

Organize your equipment. Prepare to cross the bridge.

General. It seems like they're coming.

Wait. I think that's all of them.

Let them pass first, so that we won't alert the rest to our presence.

If they discover us, kill them immediately.

Yes, sir.

♫ The moon is clear as the moonlight shines bright ♫

♫ Bright in the sky, rippling in the water ♫

♫ The place where the moon sets ♫

Seems like a random passerby.

They'll cross the bridge soon.

Do not alert them to our presence.

♫ The moon is clear as the moonlight shines bright ♫

♫ Bright in the sky, rippling in the water ♫

♫ The place ♫

♫ Where the moon sets ♫

♫ Must be where home is ♫

There's an ambush.

Retreat.

♫ The moon is clear as the moonlight shines bright ♫

♫ Bright in the sky, rippling in the water ♫

Attack!

Fire!

Fire!

Cross the bridge quickly!

Yes, sir!

Hong Jie! Cut the rope bridge!

You want to be the city lord, right?

The city will fall if the Zhenyuan Army manages to cross it!

Cut the rope bridge!

Retreat!

What's the matter?

Hurry and pull out the arrow.

Don't just sit there.

Find something to help me stop the bleeding.

Initially, I had nine lives as a cat.

Now, I'm afraid I have one life left.

Don't spout nonsense.

rYou're not allowed to have less than nine lives in the future.

Father.

Mother.

Hurry! Head inside!

Hurry! Hurry up!

- Hurry! - Hurry!

Pei Yan.

The Yueluo Tribe tried to start a rebellion.

I'm doing this to get rid of all these traitors on His Majesty's behalf.

Today, I shall reward the one who kills the most traitors!

- Kill them all! - Kill them all!

- Stand back! - You can retreat all you like.

I'll fight them to the death!

Remember this.

Being a city lord isn't about fighting alone and risking your life!

It's about protecting the tribe!

Just go!

- Kill them all! - Kill them all!

Your Lordship, I saw Commander Wei and Miss Jiang falling from the rope bridge.

I've lost their tracks.

You lost their tracks?

That's right. I didn't see them or their bodies.

You're awake.

Be careful.

Jiang Ci, Yueluo is in danger.

I need to return to Yueluo.

I'll join you.

Okay.

With Wei Zhao's ability, I don't think they'll be in danger.

Now that the rope bridge has been cut off,

they can only take one path to return to the city.

You two, stay here.

Try to let as many people enter the city as you can.

- Yes, Your Lordship. - Yes, Your Lordship.

General Lu.

No need to go through all this trouble to take down Yueluo City.

We just need to capture their leader.

Do you wish to join the battle as well?

I'm willing to head out first to take down Hong Ye, the city lord.

- Go! - Hurry!

- Hurry up! - Just go!

Hurry and close the gate!

- Close the gate! - City Lord Hong!

Close the gate!

Father!

- Father! - Close the gate!

Father!

Those who are unafraid of death, follow me!

City Lord Hong. I respect you for being a brave warrior.

But you're outnumbered.

Why don't you surrender?

If so, I can make sure everyone stays safe.

You want me to kneel and beg for mercy?

If I do so, the entire Yueluo Tribe has to kneel and beg for mercy.

The Yueluo Tribe has been kneeling for too long!

You just became the city lord.

Right now, your priority is to ensure peace within the tribe!

Instead of perishing together with me,

why don't we sit down and negotiate a deal?

How can a slave have any dignity?

Let me ask you this.

Do you have any slaves from Yueluo in your residence?

Lord of Jianding, you were born in Liang State, and you inherited your father's title.

Have you ever carried an enormous grievance, or tried being a slave before?

Just surrender.

I won't allow the Yueluo Tribe to be slaves again!

Is the Vanguard Unit there...

to watch the show?

Uncle!

Fire the arrows.

Fire the arrows! Fire the arrows!

No. His Lordship is at the front line.

Fire the arrows!

General Lu, do you want to act on your own initiative and turn the Changfeng Guards into your enemies?

[Yueluo]

City Lord?

City Lord?

Father!

Father! Father!

Wake up!

Physician!

Where's the physician?

Can someone please save my father?

We need a physician!

Jie...

Father, stop talking.

I'll dress your wound right now.

Father?

Father...

Father, wake up.

Don't fall asleep. Look at me!

Father, don't fall asleep! Please tell me off!

I'm not a good son. I'm useless! I've embarrassed you!

Don't fall asleep! Tell me off!

Silly boy.

I know that you're a good boy.

In the future, when I'm gone,

you must become a good man who can protect the Yueluo Tribe.

That won't happen. You'll surely be here!

You'll surely be here!

I'll dress your wound! I'll dress your wound!

Father!

Father!

Uncle.

This is the item your father left for you.

I cannot... take it.

Promise me.

Take care of... Yueluo...

Father!

Father!

[Yueluo]

- Everything will be fine. - Bring him over there.

Hang in there.

Make way. Make way.

My Lord, we lost 3,000 troops today.

However, we only managed to take down the city lord of Yueluo City.

Our morale is low while Yueluo is fighting back fiercely.

We mustn't pursue a desperate enemy.

We shouldn't confront them directly.

Changzhen, you do have a point.

But now, the rope bridge behind the city has been cut off.

In your opinion, what should we do?

The soil under Yueluo City is soft and deep.

We may send our men to dig out a hidden tunnel under the city wall.

We may enter the city in three days.

We still need three days?

Right now, Yueluo has no leader.

Their morale is low.

If we launch a secret operation, we can take them by surprise.

If so, I'll heed your advice.

Lord of Jianding has arrived!

Greetings, General Lu.

Pei Yan, you've kept a traitor as your servant, huh?

General Lu, what makes you say so?

My men would've infiltrated Yueluo City and launched a two-pronged attack with us by now

had your traitorous servant not jeopardized my meticulous plot.

Why would we need to waste our time here?

Pei Yan, don't you think you should give me an account?

She was coerced into doing so.

She had no choice.

General Lu, your main army is here. You'll capture Yueluo City eventually.

I don't think you need to take her actions to heart.

I can choose not to put her on the spot here.

But you're her master.

You have to repay her debt.

Right now, we need all the manpower we have.

Yueluo intends to stage a rebellion.

Pei Yan, don't you think you should contribute to our cause too?

General Lu, I shall heed your command.

Pei Yan, if you can help me to quell this rebellion,

I'll surely request His Majesty to reward you when I return to the court in the future.

Thank you, General Lu.

General Lu is trying to drag His Lordship down with him.

It has already come to this. Your Lordship, why are you still defending Jiang Ci?

I think she's bent on following Wei Zhao now.

General Lu plans to attack Yueluo to counter the military reforms

and delay his return to the imperial court.

He's just using Jiang Ci as an excuse.

Your Lordship, if you join General Lu in this battle, your relationship with him will become complicated.

It depends on whether or not he can win.

If he wins, he'll render military merit.

If he loses, he'll become a war criminal.

So, Your Lordship, you intend to make Lu Yu lose?

The more mistakes he commits, the more unsalvageable the situation is for him.

His Majesty has his own excuses to sanction him.

However, can Yueluo endure this attack?

The Yueluo people were unafraid of death.

They didn't cower at all. They were true men.

How come so many civilians are still being captured?

The people suffer whenever there's war.

I'm worried that General Lu might use them to attack the city.

By the way, I told you to investigate Wei Zhao's hidden forces in Qingkang before this.

Have you located their whereabouts?

I did obtain some clues, but I dare not act recklessly with them.

Bring them to Liangzhou as soon as possible.
