were forced to abandon

the security of their Cliffside shelter,

leaving them vulnerable.

Lindsey: In this boma, we are more exposed.

Gary's decision to focus on fire

instead of shelter left Trent frustrated...

I would have done the roof first thing.

Narrator: ...While Jeremy's health spiraled.

My main thing was just getting food to stay down.

The arrival of Sarah, Mel and duck brought new hope...

My brain is not working full capacity.

I had to get out of that shelter.

I think Lacey is spent, but as much as you want

to sit around and relax, you can't.

Fire is the only reason why we're still alive out here.

Not everyone works at my pace

or when I want to, and I understand that.

It's just a little frustrating, but that's the way it is.

But lack of sleep and Jeremy's illness

are cause for concern.

Trent: How you feeling, Jeremy?

Energy? You feeling okay?

No. My stomach is so uneasy right now.

Yeah.

Good to have some new members in camp,

but Jeremy, he's having a lot of problems.

He's eating nothing.

I'm scared of eating.

He ate some impala that first day.

[ Groans ]

All I had to do was say that?

I'm really surprised Jeremy is hanging in here like this.

He's been weak for days.

He hasn't had anything to eat.

I got to throw up.

[ Coughs ]

Jeremy: My stomach ain't feeling better.

If it don't get better, I don't know

if I can make it through another night.

Something ain't right.

Melanie: Yesterday, I was, like, literally at the end of my rope,

and I saw Jeremy. I don't know.

We just had this connection, this bond.

Ever since we did our 21 day, I have to get him healthy.

I need him. I need him.

I don't want to disappoint you.

Between you and me, I ain't telling everybody else,

but my body is shot.

I'm not going to be deadweight.

I've got it again -- non-sleep headache.

with no sleep and little food.

Our new location is a lot more exposed,

and we need to make something that's rainproof.

Otherwise, we're screwed out here.

We don't even have to find big sticks.

We could just make, like, a square fire shield

that we could hold up over our heads

and over the fire and just use it... Like an umbrella?

Like a giant umbrella.

Last night, we were just so exhausted

from building our boma.

It kind of protects us from predators around us,

but we don't have a roof to keep us dry.

Nothing that we can work on in this amount of time

will protect us from torrential rain.

[ Wind blowing ]

I think we're going to get some rain today.

We should do whatever we can to try to secure this roof now.

Yeah, that might be first priority.

There is no rain shelter in this camp.

I'm very concerned with making sure

that if the rain comes again tonight, we'll be covered.

Gary: Okay. My ultimate vision is this.

I'm getting the foundation here

and then the heavier stuff, right, the beams?

And then we're going to start just throwing

[bleep] On top, thatching, just anything.

is building Clay walls.

The shelter they're building kind of sucks.

I wouldn't be surprised if it caught on fire or collapsed.

That oven emits a lot of heat, doesn't it?

The oven, the chimney is too low.

It just bellows out smoke

in your gut, goes up in your face,

and you're just sitting there breathing smoke.

So you don't use that oven anymore?

No, but I might modify what I was going to do.

If that's not being used,

it takes up a huge amount of prime real estate,

and we should probably get rid of it.

Yeah, that's what we're going... That's what I'm saying.

We're probably going to go to a fire pit.

I'm going to take that out. -Yeah.

Sarah and I, we both think the same

when it comes to building a shelter.

It couldn't be a better connection.

We're probably going to want to eventually

have a u-shaped open fire pit

so we can feed wood in from here with,

we have a bunch of killer river rocks here or even Clay,

just a little tiny wall like that or something.

This is a unique chemistry, of course.

There's probably somewhat of an attraction,

I would guess, mutually, but first and foremost,

I'll be a gentleman.

You got a lot of really big future ideas.

Well, future ideas mixed with doing what needs to be done now.

Precisely.

I've noticed about men that they have a lot of ambition.

They think about these big, grand plans they have

without necessarily considering the practicality.

I didn't think there was going to be anything

that was worse at this location.

We might get hit by rain, so I'm looking to try to get

some fish for tonight. A lot of pressure now.

I got to bring home more food.

Sarah is up helping Gary with the shelter.

We do not want a night like we had last time,

so it's do or die today, get a roof done or...

Okay, we're going to need a lot of small sticks and grass.

Yep, I'll grab a bunch of small stuff.

Melissa: We were just talking about a plan for shelter,

and then, bam, it starts raining.

I'm under the Ridge in our old boma.

Lindsey and kaila are under some trees right now,

and I came back here to put my arrows away

so they would stay dry,

and I might end up actually staying under here.

It's starting to get so cold so quickly.

That's where it started to break in right here and flooded down,

so being here long-term would not be suitable or smart,

but this is the only place in this location right now

that guarantees complete dryness.

Kaila and Lindsey, you guys should come over to the boma!

It's not safe.

This is a risk that I'm willing to take

to not die from hypothermia.

Gary: We're trying to put together a shelter, but it's not done yet.

Narrator: A massive and sudden cold front has caused the temperature

to drop by 30 degrees in a matter of hours.

Come over here, and you'll be able to dry off!

Narrator: At these temperatures, wet exposed skin

increases the risk of hypothermia

by almost 50 percent.

We are shoring up for the night in case it starts to rain again.

We've had a really rough hailstorm.

It was completely nuts.

Gary: Swear to god this [bleep] is heavy.

We really weren't prepared for it.

Our shelter just wasn't up to snuff.

After dealing with the storm where we were, showing up here

and seeing that you guys didn't have the shelter,

I was like, "ooh."

I know we won't survive without [Bleep] shelter from day one.

I know what I'm doing.

Anyway, here we go.

We've cleared the brush off of this side.

I got a lot of different plans for the shelter tomorrow.

I don't really feel appreciated.

Trent: Nobody said you didn't work hard.

We just need to get on the same page

and get something else done.

We can't go a night without shelter in a storm,

so our priorities right now are to get this storm-proofed.

Melanie: Trent, where you going with that?

How are we going to feed large lumber with that?

We'll figure it out.

I promise we'll be able to feed lumber.

Gary: So really what's happened here then is Trent is,

"I don't see a vote being taken. You're just doing it your way."

We've been here 10 days, and we got walls.

This already, we can't feed fire.

How many times have I said we'll be able to feed fire?

I'm just saying, "trust me."

But the fire has to be in there.

I'm just saying, "true me."

Unless you tear down that wall

or feed lumber in there, it won't work.

Sarah: If I'm going to be honest, frankly I'm kind of just

sick of this [bleep], you guys.

This is exhausting, much more so

than any of the physical labor that Mel or I

did in our totally [Bleep] camp.

Sarah: Mel and I came from such an inhospitable location

to a much nicer location

but a much [bleep] team dynamic.

I can't do another night of the bickering.

I'm not going to be dealing with the [bleep].

I like to make my own way.

I don't like to follow.

On my 21-day challenge in exumas,

the biggest challenge by far was my partner.

I had never met anybody who was so closed off.

I think empathy is a character flaw.

It's not that I don't value other contributions,

I just don't care.

I found that independence is truly the most important thing

even when functioning in a partnership.

I think I'm going to stick to being an independent.

I'm frustrated.

I'm tired.

No single person at this camp right now

is feeling happy, not one.

Trent is just sick and tired of all of the drama and himself.

Gary is a madman, and Melanie has no motivation

to do anything whatsoever.

With no shade shelter, no rain shelter,

I mean, it might be that maybe I need to move on myself.

Gary: I don't see a vote being taken. You're just doing it your way.

We've been here 10 days, and we got walls.

This already, we can't feed fire.

How many times have I said we'll be able to feed fire?

I'm just saying, "trust me."

I can't do another night of the bickering.

Once you see my vision and once you get to know me,

in the little shelter that we have,

Plan for me is to take a nap because I haven't slept yet.

Then I'll worry about it when I'm not so tired and cold.

Shane: I am a little frustrated that Lacey doesn't do

a daggone thing to help with the lodge.

This is a team effort, and we need everyone

to contribute or the team breaks down.

Lacey: I haven't been getting much sleep,

so I'm going to try a new sleeping arrangement

and see how that works.

At night, I feel so caged in, so I'm making my own bed

outside of the shelter away from him.

I'm going to be sleeping right there, right in that patch.

I'm going to just flatten that out and start adding sand.

Today, I got every pot of water and every piece of firewood.

It was very, very exhausting.

And it's going to be nice to have our own space at night,

not have to share a sleeping spot.

This is all going to catch on fire if this thing moves.

I don't trust it. I've seen it happen before.

I'll gather up my stuff, load up all my biltong, head off.

It's a gamble, but that's survival.

A lot of things you got to be careful for on a trek

like this first thing in the morning.

This is the time predators hunt.

I get complacent out here right now,

and I could find myself in big, big trouble.

that is a boma filled with all kinds of big-ass bones,

and I can see a water source right here.

I'd almost bet it.

That's a nicely built boma.

It's somewhat close to the water,
