My physical body was destroyed

My Nascent Soul has been locked in the

Heaven Defying Space for 1000 years!

Now

I can finally regain my freedom!

You...

Destiny has dictated that

I am to take possession of your body!

How can this be?

I wonder how much time this senior

is going to spend flying through my body

A mortal

I have waited 1000 years

only to end up with a mortal like you!

I can't even take possession of your body

The Heaven Defying Bead unexpectedly chose this person

And he has such poor innate talent

If I were to wait for him to gain the ability to get me out

the Vermilion Bird Planet would probably be long destroyed

I am Wang Lin

I wholeheartedly seek immortality

Why don't you help me in my cultivation and

I'll help you escape this predicament?

You? Your innate talent is too poor

Innate talent?

Innate talent

I was born ordinary but that

doesn't mean that I'm destined to be ordinary!

What an exaggerated opinion of your own abilities!

Tie Zhu!

Where are you? Tie Zhu!

Tie Zhu!

Why did you take this matter so hard?

Wang Lin

The Sect Leader considered your commendable perseverance

and made an exception to accept you

as a registered disciple of the Heng Mountain Sect

What? Are you unwilling?

I, Wang Lin, will respectfully follow the teachings and

work hard on my cultivation

Zhang Kuang, take him back to the sect

Understood

Let's go

Tie Zhu!

I'll definitely live up to your expectations

the color of a disciple's clothes

represents their rank in the sect

After that, you have those with red clothes and yellow clothes

Are you waiting for me to get the bedding for you?

Open it!

It's big like I said

I heard you relied on suicide to get in

That's some strategy, kid

I'm betting on big for this round

Hurry up

Get your tasks for tomorrow

Coming, coming

This is mine

You can't change it now

How heavy is yours?

Look at mine

The old rules apply Fetch water for five vats

____

If anyone doesn't finish their task in seven days

I will report it to the elder

and expel him from the Heng Mountain Sect

Yes, Senior Brother

Can I cultivate

once I finish my task?

Cultivate?

Cultivate?

Just give up on that notion

Do you really think you can finish it?

It's fine

I still have six days

I'll just work harder

I can definitely complete it

Don't tell me it can really heal injuries?

My entire body feels lighter

Drinking water soaked with the Heaven Defying Bead

actually has an effect as well

Registered disciples do not have

a high status in the Heng Mountain Sect

but they wander about this spiritual mountain all day

so it is possible that they might find some remarkable items

Letting them keep the items would be a real pity

We can make better use of them

for the sake of our immortal path

Do not worry, I will definitely present any treasures they find to you

Dew contains the essence of water, I'll try it with dew

The resulting effect from using dew is so good

He does have some brains

This kid actually upgraded the Heaven Defying Bead's water attribute

This is only the fourth day of his task

but he is unexpectedly almost done

Something is indeed fishy about this kid

What's going on?

Senior Brother Liu

Tell me, what treasure are you hiding for yourself?

What treasure?

I don't understand what you're talking about

I guess you would not dare lie to me

Remember

As long as you are in the Heng Mountain Sect

you will let me trample on you

If you dare hide any treasures for yourself...

Wang Lin!

You naive idiot! Why didn't you fight back?

I'll remember every single time he harmed me

As long as I can become an immortal

I can afford to wait

I can't wait that long!

From today onward, I'll teach you cultivation!

What are you laughing about?

Nothing

Previously, I was worried that you would

abandon me and choose someone else

Do you think I don't want to?

It's all because the damn Heaven Defying Bead just had to choose you!

I'll first strengthen your Spiritual Roots

How many clouds are lighted up on the Heaven Defying Bead now?

Nine

You're still short of one level

before you can start cultivating

Spiritual energy is sparse in the Heng Mountain Sect

but it's better than nothing

Make the most of your time collecting dew

Strive to upgrade the Heaven Defying Bead quickly

Senior Situ

Thank you

There are seven realms in the first step of cultivation

Qi Condensation

Foundation Establishment

Core Formation

Nascent Soul

Deity Transformation

Soul Transformation

and Ascendant

The mantra for the Qi Condensation stage

The Three Chapters of Qi Condensation

Concentrate your thoughts with your breathing

One hour outside the bead is ten hours inside the bead

Time flows ten times faster in the Heaven Defying Space

This will also give you a lot more time

to cultivate your mortal body

Six Months Later

Recently

Senior Brother Liu has been busy preparing for the

inter-sect competition with the Profound Dao Sect

so he hasn't had time to make things difficult for us

Exactly, the Profound Dao Sect appears to be on friendly terms with us

but secretly, they've always been very competitive

Especially since we lost the

last few competitions

We have to be well-prepared, right?

Our inter-sect competition with the Profound Dao Sect is approaching

so Elder Sun has decided to pick one of you

for promotion to a Yellow Cloth disciple

Let me be the one!

Pick me!

Pick me!

Me!

Wang Lin

Your innate talent is poor

but you have outstanding perseverance

Are you willing to become my disciple?

Why was he selected?

Why would he be selected?

In terms of innate talent, diligence and

how long one has been with the sect

it shouldn't be his turn yet

Why are you spacing out?

Master

I prepared this storage pouch and elixir for you

as gifts for formally becoming my disciple

This is the Heng Mountain Sect's tradition when we accept disciples

Let's go

Disperse

Just diligently be a Gray Cloth disciple

Senior Situ

I've mastered it

Heng Mountain Sect Yellow Cloth Disciple First Level of Qi Condensation

You still have the nerve to say that

You barely made it to the first level of Qi Condensation

after training for so long in the Heaven Defying Bead

Just having the Attraction Force technique

is acceptable for now

Translator's Note: one jin is 500g / 1.1lb ; historically, one jin was around 800g / 1.8lb (16 liang) Senior Brother Liu, we agreed that I'll chop 100 jin of firewood

Now, you have increased the amount to 1000 jin

I, Zhang Hu, have shown you plenty of respect these few years

Do you really want to force me down the mountain?

At least 30% of the firewood you supposedly chopped was just water

You're slandering me!

Didn't Zhao Fu Gui give you

an immortal talisman a few days ago?

Fine! I'm going to the Sect Leader to sort out this matter!

Zhang Hu

You forced me to do this

Insignificant mortal, do you think you will live to see the Sect Leader?

You have actually mastered the Attraction Force technique

We're all members of the same sect so don't go too far

How dare you lecture me?!

Wang Lin, be careful!

Today is the day you die!

You bullied me, humiliated me and

tried to kill a fellow sect member

You should be punished for your malice!

You insignificant insect, I want to kill you!

I've resigned myself to the endless years along the way just to see your silhouette

Who came to this conclusion from reversing the compass?

The Heavens have erased your thread of thoughts

It was obsession that guided me

I've seen through the insubstantial fantasies along the way past the confusion over what's real or fake

If you are in murkiness with no aspirations how can you differentiate right from wrong?

Watch all beings go with the flow

Watch all beings drown

I refuse to believe that fate is determined by someone

Let the world temper my soul

So what if I want to become an immortal and defy Heaven? Go fight

Comprehend the highest realm during desperate circumstances

Only today do I realize that I am who I am

My entire body is covered with blood from the slaughter Carrying a lifetime's worth of obsessions

I don't look back at how bleak my surroundings are

Even if suffering smashes my soul

Even if I'm reborn several times in hell I'll continue to fight

When standing at an elevated position

it is difficult to escape loneliness

Why would a moth that has seen the Vermilion Bird be afraid of the light of a firefly?
