We first touched down

We bounced three or four times
and then skidded the rest of the way.

Everyone survived. My respect to the pilots.

I don't think of myself as a hero.

I only did what I had to do to save the
passengers, the crew, and the aircraft.

That was the only solution to the problem.

Any pilot would do the
same as I did in that situation.

We acted according to our
instructions, as we were trained.

The work is almost automatic, by the rule
book: we make appropriate announcements,

open the door, evacuate
everybody and check for injuries.

It's a miracle that we were saved that day.
