[theme music]
[male narrator] Gathered together from the cosmic reaches of the universe
here in this great Hall of Justice
are the most powerful forces of good ever assembled.
Superman.
Batman and Robin.
Wonder Woman.
[screeching]
Aquaman.
And the Wonder Twins, Zan and Jayna
with their space monkey, Gleek.
Dedicated to truth, justice
and peace for all mankind.
[instrumental music]
[male narrator] At the Gotham Scientific Research Institute
an important test is about to take place
which could affect the entire world.
Crackle crackle
Ladies and gentlemen, after 16 years
of worldwide research
the Omega project is finally complete.
Our cyclonic anti-matter generator
is capable of producing a new negative source of energy.
Which, if successful, will end the worlds dependence
on natural energy resources.
Our primary test will be at half power.
Power diffuser is ready, Dr. Hill.
Thermo-electric converters on.
[crackling]
[dramatic music]
Tomorrow, ladies and gentlemen
we will test the anti-matter at full power.
[male narrator] Later that evening, at the research plant...
[dramatic music]
[beeping]
[crackling]
[roaring]
- What on earth was that? - I don't know.
I think it came from inside the complex.
Hurry, something's going on in the cyclotron chamber.
Oh, no, something's gone wrong.
Quick! We've got to shut down the anti-matter generator.
It's no use, the power circuits are fused.
There's no way to shut down the cyclonic generator.
Great heavens, what's happening?
Dr. Hill, look out!
[roaring]
It, it's gone!
But where could it go?
[beeping]
[male narrator] Controlled automatically by the mysterious computer tapes
the strange anti-matter monster appears
on the opposite end of the world
at the huge hydro-electric power plant in Turkey.
[roaring]
An energy creature! Run!
[male narrator] Meanwhile at the Hall of Justice...
As soon as I get you in focus we'll have a nice picture
to send back to our relatives on planet Exxor.
They'll see what a super, super-hero I turned out to be.
Steady, Zan!
Just count to 10 and...
Oh, no, Gleek ruined the picture.
[gibbering]
Oh, well, at least Gleek will have a picture
to send to his relatives at the Exxor zoo.
Beep beep beep
It's the TroubAlert.
The Justice League satellite
is relaying the message from Turkey.
Super Friends, we need your help immediately.
A giant energy creature is attacking
our hydro-electric plant.
There isn't much...
Holy short circuits, Batman, whatever's after them
must've burned out their transmitter.
This is a job for Superman.
[male narrator] Thousands of miles away at the huge hydro-electric plant...
[roaring]
[thuds]
[crackling]
[male narrator] As the incredible anti-matter monster
absorbs billions of bolts in electrical energy
cities all over Eastern Europe are drained
of their vital energy sources.
Great Scott, that energy monster is so bright
I can see it over the horizon.
[roaring]
I'll drain the beast of energy before it knows what hit it.
It vanished into thin air.
[male narrator] Later, at the Gotham Scientific Research plant...
According to our calculations, Batman
a spontaneous overload in all of the cyclotron's power circuits
is the only thing that could've created the energy creature.
But it doesn't make sense with the safety equipment
that's built into the cyclotron it shouldn't have overloaded.
We'll find out what started it later.
What we need now is a way to stop it.
In another 24 hours it will have absorbed
half the energy in Eastern Europe.
The anti-matter that makes up the creature
is a new substance, Aquaman.
We know very little about it.
I'm afraid we don't know how to stop it.
[gibbering]
Gleek, where are you going?
[gibbering]
[thuds]
Hm, I wonder what this reel of computer tape
is doing on the floor.
Hang on to it, Jayna, we'll check it out
when we get back to the Hall of Justice.
[male narrator] Later at the Hall of Justice...
[Batman] Our best chance to catch this energy creature
is to figure out where it'll strike next.
The Justice League computer should be able to tell us
where the world's most concentrated
energy sources are.
[computer] Computer files indicate four primary sources
of world energy, the oil field off the north slope of Alaska.
A microwave relay station in Tokyo, Japan.
The geo-thermal energy fields in South-western Africa.
And the nuclear power plant in California.
Holy power supplies, they're all over the world!
Right, Robin, and if we cover all of them
one of us should meet that antimatter monster.
Contact us if you discover anything.
Sure thing, Wonder Woman.
Come on, Zan, let's see if we can figure out
what this tapes got on it.
[male narrator] With blinding speed, the Super Friends streak off
to distant points all over the earth
in an attempt to locate the strange energy creature.
Meanwhile, at the Gotham Scientific Research Institute...
If those meddling Super Friends try to stop me again
they'll have quite a surprise waiting for them.
[laughs]
[intense music]
[male narrator] Moments later, off the coast of Alaska...
[crackling]
[roaring]
[roaring]
[crackling]
Great Neptune, the energy creature must be draining
the oil from the off shore wells.
Aquaman, to Super Friends.
I've spotted the energy creature off the coast of Alaska.
I'm going after it.
Splash
[intense music]
[roaring]
He's destroying another oil rig.
My aquatic telepathy will slow him down.
[male narrator] Following Aquaman's mental commands
hundreds of nearby fish circle the strange energy creature
creating a barrier around its glowing form.
[instrumental music]
This giant kelp lasso should hold the energy creature.
[roaring]
It's draining the strength out of my body.
[beeping]
The emergency alert!
Aquaman must be in trouble.
I've got to try to find him with my X-ray vision.
Great Scott! The energy creature's got him!
Splash
[roaring]
Now to take care of that energy monster!
[male narrator] Meanwhile, at the Hall of Justice...
[computer] Computer analysis indicates your reel of magnetic tape
contains program for anti-matter energy control.
Jupiters, if that's the control tape for the anti-matter
then what's on the computer at the research center?
I don't know, but there's only one way to find out.
Got ya, super sis. Let's go.
[male narrator] Later, at the Gotham Scientific Research plant...
Coast is clear.
I wonder which computer this tape came off of?
[shrieks]
[gibberish]
Gleek, what's the matter?
A beam of few million volts of anti-matter will take care of...
[evil laugh]
Clang
[Jayna] Oh, no.
Any second that anti-matter
will dissolve us into wonder dust.
Maybe not, Jayna. Quick.
Change into something and get airborne.
[together] Wonder Twin powers, activate!
Form of a kangaroo.
Shape of ice cubes.
Okay, Jayna. Hop to it.
Wow. That was close.
[teeth chattering]
Nice work, Jayna.
Wonder Twin powers, deactivate.
Whoever that sinister villain was, he's gone now.
Let's check out the magnetic tape on the lab computer.
It's gone.
It must've been disintegrated in the anti-matter.
And that's not the worst of it, Jayna.
Look, whoever tried to stop us
stole the anti-matter computer control.
I have a sneaking suspicion that anti-matter monster
is no accident.
[male narrator] Later, at the Hall of Justice...
And after we escaped, we realized the anti-matter
computer have been stolen also.
Thanks, Wonder Twins.
Get back to the Hall of Justice as soon as you can.
It all adds up to the fact that one of the four scientists
must be behind the creation of the energy creature.
And whoever he is, he can now handle
the thing by remote control.
Holy microwave. Why would anybody want to
turn loosen energy monster?
I don't know, Robin, but I've got a plan that might tell us.
With Wonder Woman disguised as a government scientist
trying to reverse the effects of the energy creature
our culprit is just liable to show hand.
I'll tag along as curious Clark Kent
and find out what I can.
[male narrator] Later, back at the Research Institute.
Sorry, this area is off limits.
I'm Clark Kent and this is Andrea Randolph
of the Federal Energy Center.
She's here to neutralize the energy creature.
Okay, Mr. Kent, go ahead.
[car revving]
Your problem obviously stems from the overload
in the power circuits.
A heavy bombardment of super charged protons
will probably stop the creature dead in its tracks.
It may work. I'll run it through the computer analyzer.
Every nosy reporter should have X-ray vision.
There's nothing in there. Better check the basement next.
If our first attempt fails to stop the creature
the United Nations has offered to put
the world's best scientists on it.
[male 1] Professor Randolph, telephone.
[telephone ringing]
This is Professor Randolph.
[man over phone] I have some vital information
regarding the energy creature.
[thinking] Great Hera, if all of the scientists are here
then who's on the telephone?
[man over phone] If you want to stop the anti-matter creature
then meet me in five minutes at the warehouse on Dock 52.
Clark's nowhere in sight.
I'll have to handle this alone.
[tires screeches]
Hello? ls anybody here?
Yes, Prof. Randolph.
I'm here.
But you won't be for long.
No government scientist is going to interfere with my plans.
[Wonder Woman] Maybe not!
But Wonder Woman is.
[dramatic music]
[Wonder Woman] Give up. You haven't got a chance.
Wrong, Wonder Woman. It's you, who haven't got a chance.
[wicked laugh]
My magic lasso should slow it down.
[groans]
My magic lasso is acting as a conductor in flowing
the creatures energy right through me.
The creature's draining my energy.
That's right, Wonder Woman.
Not even the Super Friends can stop me from taking control
of all the world's energy.
[dramatic music]
[car revving]
[male narrator] Later, at the Hall of Justice...
There's no way to stop the energy creature.
Any contact with him, drains all of our energy.
At least we know what its creator is after.
Now, all we have to do is figure out who he is
and stop him before he controls all the world's energy.
[alarm blaring]
It's the TroubAlert.
Superman, we finally discovered
a way to diffuse the energy creature's power.
This giant electron absorbing belt
must be fitted around the energy creature.
The receiving unit will draw off the creature's energy
and beam it back to the cyclonic generator.
But in order to put the belt on the creature
I'll have to come in contact with it.
No problem, Superman.
We've devised a clear insulating spray that will protect you
from the creature for five minutes.
Set up your equipment at the Glomar Nuclear Power Plant.
The energy creature is bound to show up there sooner or later.
Right, Batman. We'll take care of it.
[male narrator] Meanwhile, as the research scientists load their equipment
to take to the Glomar Nuclear Power Plant...
I sure hope that energy creature shows up at the reactor site.
I'll make sure the creature shows up
to destroy Superman once and for all.
We'll have the transmitter set up in a few minutes, Superman.
Good. I'll be standing by.
We better give the area a last minute security check.
Robin and I will take a look around on the ground.
Right, Batman. Jayna and I will check out the reactor plant.
[male narrator] Unknown to the Super Friends, the missing control computer
is nearby and is set to automatically unleash
the anti-matter monster in less than one hour.
There's nothing suspicious around here, Jayna.
Let's check up ahead.
Brrr, this area is restricted. Do you have security clearance?
[Gleek blabbering]
That does not compute.
What is your identification, brrr, number?
[Gleek blabbering]
I have no listing of that number. Brrr!
You better come with... me.
- Spot anything, Robin? - Negative, Batman.
[Robin] Infrared bat-noculars are picking up nothing.
[intense music]
Beep beep
Look, it's the energy creature.
[creature growls]
Quick, Superman. Once I cover you with this insulating spray
you'll only have five minutes to get the transmitter
belt on the energy creature.
[Robin] Holy high voltage, Batman.
The creature's back.
We better give Superman some assistance.
Right, Robin. Take that...
Great Gotham. The portable Bat-scope indicates the energy
creature is being controlled by something in this area.
This is Dr. Starn's pickup truck.
And that must be the missing anti-matter control computer.
Quick, we've got to try to shut it down.
I've got to get this transmitter belt on
before my insulation wears off.
[whoosh]
It's no use, Batman. The computer circuits are fused.
We can't shut it off.
Wait a minute, Robin. According to this chemical analysis
Dr. Starn's altered the protective spray for Superman.
It'll wear off within one minutes
contact with the creature.
Holy sabotage. We better contact Superman immediately.
Batman to Superman.
Do you read me?
No, it's no good, Robin.
The creature's anti-matter energy
is scrambling our transmission.
There's no time to lose. Switch on Bat-jet boots.
[whoosh]
If that insulation holds out
Superman should have plenty of time.
The protective insulation is working.
Quick. Activate the energy transmitter.
Superman, you've been tricked.
You've got less than a minute
of protection from the energy creature.
Holy, getaways, Batman.
Dr. Starn is taking the energy transmitter.
We'll cut him off at the Coast Highway, Robin. Come on.
[engine rumbling]
Hurry, Batman. He's approaching the draw bridge.
[Batman] And that's just where we'll catch him, Boy Wonder.
Oh, no. The draw bridge is opening.
[tires screeching]
The case is over, Starn.
And, so is your energy creature.
[creature groans]
It's working.
The energy is beaming back
to the cyclotron energy chamber.
Thanks, Batman. The creature's gone.
That's one unnatural energy source we can all do without.
[Gleek blabbering]
[warbling]
I caught these three snooping around the r-reactor.
Uh, uh, uh, we didn't find anything suspicious
in the power plant.
Ha-ha. It looks like the only thing suspicious
looking in the power plant was you three.
[male 2] We owe you our thanks, Super Friends.
Now that Dr. Starn is in the hands of the authorities
we're making much faster advancements in our research.
We've already improved the anti-matter energy.
We'll have an unlimited supply of power
for thousands of years to come.
Oh, no, Gleek, watch out!
[gibbering]
Gleek. He's gone.
Our little pet has been dissolved into energy.
Don't worry, kids.
The anti-matter has been neutralized.
It's harmless.
[Gleek gibbering]
[Jayna] Ha-ha! Looks like Gleek's got
his own unlimited supply of energy. Ha-ha!
