Super Friends, we're in disparate dangers.

The Legion of Doom has threatened to hold the entire

United Nations General Assembly for ransom.

We've got to get to the UN

before there's international turmoil.

The three of us should be able to handle it.

[male narrator] Moments later at the United Nations...

is trying to lead us into another trap.

the swamp on the outskirts of Metropolis.

streaked over the city landing in the heart of

the dense and foreboding swamp.

moved down through the murky water...

...and finally entering the strange underworld inferno.

This must be the hot spot the Riddler was talking about.

and the UN building.

The Legion of Doom is spreading chaos throughout the country.

They're using some sort of...

If they're asking for our help

then where are Superman, Hawkman and Black Vulcan?

somewhere beneath the swamp.

to intercept the Legion.

the other Super Friends.

[male narrator] With the help of Apache Chief's keen tracking abilities

the three Super Friends follow

a dangerous trail which leads them

to the blistering underworld inferno.

These flaming cabins are enormous.

It could take us hours to find the others.

The cabins are large, Green Lantern.

But their trail is a narrow one.

Superman, Black Vulcan.

I've got to figure a way to get them out of there

before it's too late.

[bubbles]

This hot lava should chase that creature out of his cave.

insidious creatures.

[male narrator] Meanwhile, high over New York...

Wait a minute. Hall of Doom, dead ahead.

Batman to Wonder Woman. We've spotted the Legion.

Radar computer indicates the Bat jet

and invisible jet on attack approach.

They won't be so eager to bother us after they get a taste

of the Monolith's power.

I may be able to disperse it with a high speed pass.

[dramatic music]

Great Hera! It's going to tear up the bridge.

The Bat freeze ray should stop him.

Great Gotham, that strange monolith

turned the water creature into an ice monster.

[intense music]

It's getting cooler. We must be getting closer to the surface.

Great lightning, look, we're turning to rock.

There's no way to get free. We're finished.

Some high speed molecular action should free you up.

[buzzing]

We've got to get Superman back to the Hall of Justice

to get him free of the kryptonite.

But in his weakened condition, it could kill him.

Maybe, but if it doesn't, the kryptonite will.

I've got to get rid of this kryptonite and fast.

We've got to take care of the Legion of Doom.

[male narrator] As Batman and Wonder Woman

continue to fight the strange ice monster...

There's still one thing we haven't tried.

If I can just alter the Bat radar frequency

to the right signal, it should break up the ice molecules.

But we'll have to crawl right down

the beast's throat to get close enough.

Data indicates that energy source

is more powerful than Super Friends.

However, there is a flaw in the data.

The power source is not evil.

But that's impossible. Look at the destruction it's caused.

just a source of energy like any other good or bad

according to intent of its user.

Of course, the only reason it appears to be evil

is that the Legion of Doom is controlling it.

Then I should be able to control the monolith the same way

I control my magic lasso, telepathically.

and soon we'll have the entire world.

depending upon how it's put to use.
