On today's "All New Super Friends Hour"

Wonder Woman and Superman travel

to a mysterious jungle island

uniting their super skills to subdue

the evil work of the ruthless outlaw, The Enforcer.

Then, the Wonder Twins and space monkey Gleek

teach a lesson in safety at sea

when they save some young people

from a dangerous shark attack.

It's a mix-up in time and space

when the Super Friends find themselves

battling the primitive tyrant Barko

in the "Planet of the Neanderthals."

Then, Aquaman and Super Friends' guest, Green Lantern

go on a dangerous mission deep underground

to rescue workers in a "Flood Of Diamonds."

Coming up in a moment...

[instrumental music]

On a desolate island in the South Pacific...

[intense music]

[zapping]

[zapping]

Hurry! Get him!

[zapping]

He must not escape!

Days later, on another remote island...

Look, a raft!

Later at the Hall of Justice...

Super Friends, two islanders have found

a strangely dressed man on our South Pacific island.

He's told the authorities here an incredible story

and says only you can help.

Those islands are familiar territory to me. I'm on my way.

I'll be right behind you, Aquaman.

[upbeat music]

[droning]

Later, at the small South Pacific island...

I am called Garth-1, Super Friends.

I was the leader of Arcava, a peaceful civilization

that lives hidden beneath the island I came from.

However, our people became corrupt.

[zapping]

[whooshing]

And law and order vanished.

[indistinct chatter]

In an attempt to restore order

the council overruled me

and voted to put The Enforcer

into temporary command of the state

a ruthless outlaw with his own army of criminals.

The Enforcer's troops took over

and struck fear into the people.

When the council realized its mistake, it was too late.

I have tried to have The Enforcer removed

but failed and had to flee for my life.

We've met his kind before.

I think it's time The Enforcer met the Super Friends.

[engine revving]

[droning]

Later, as the invisible jet arrives at Garth-1's island...

This bottomless lagoon is the entrance way

to our civilization.

Lead the way, we'll follow.

Splash

[bubbling]

[zapping]

[Garth-1] It's the Enforcer's men!

Take cover, Garth. I think I'll teach them some manners.

[zapping]

Using his aquatic telepathy

Aquaman summons weird tropical jellyfish...

...who quickly subdue the three evil pursuers.

He did it! The Enforcer's men are fleeing.

[male 1] But it won't help you, Garth-1 .

Wonder Woman, look. They've got Garth-1.

Quick, we'll follow them.

[intense music]

Later, deep under the island

in the hidden civilization of Arcava...

It's the Enforcer, and he's got Garth-1.

You have defied me, Garth-1.

Now, you shall be dealt with according to my rules!

Take him away.

We've got to get into that building unnoticed.

- But how? - There's our answer.

So far so good.

Now to find Garth-1.

Your leader, Garth-1, will soon have a fitting punishment.

And any of you who try to resist me

will suffer the same fate!

Looks like we got here just in time.

Now, to teach you a lesson.

[all gasping]

I'm afraid I'm going to have to interrupt your lesson, Enforcer.

Quick, stop her!

Now to free Garth-1 with some expert laser-deflecting.

[zapping]

Now to put you two out of commission.

They're all yours, Aquaman.

Coming down!

It's all over, Enforcer. Your days of tyranny are finished.

Not yet, Wonder Woman.

[whirring]

The Enforcer, he's escaping.

This is one fish that's not going to get away.

Now for some telepathic team work.

[intense music]

Later, in the Arcava council chamber...

Thank you for your help, Super Friends.

With Garth-1 safely back in command

we can appreciate our errors of the past.

Never again will we use evil to do away with evil.

And with The Enforcer in prison

neither he nor his men will ever trouble Arcava.

If that's the case, you shouldn't be needing us anymore.

But if you ever do, you know where we can be reached.

[jet droning]

[instrumental music]

The outer space trio, the Wonder Twins and Gleek

must swim to the rescue to save some teenagers

from the attack of a vicious shark.

A warm sunny day at State Beach

where two teenagers will soon

take a boat ride they will never forget.

Hey, guys, I just broke the beach record.

Dove down to 60 feet.

That's pretty deep, Mike.

Not for me, Karen. I can dive anywhere. Just name it.

How about Rocky Point Cave? No one's ever dared to dive there.

You mean, the sharks? They don't scare me.

I'll go out there now and bring some rocks as proof.

And you can take me out there on your boat.

I can see them! They're almost to the Point.

Are you sure you wanna go through with this, Mike?

Stop worrying. I know what I'm doin'.

Meanwhile, the Wonder Twins and Gleek

are enjoying an afternoon at a nearby carnival.

[Jayna] Do you really think we can knock any of them down?

Are you kiddin'? He's gonna knock 'em all down.

I taught him everything he knows.

[chattering]

[chattering]

You're right, brother dear

you taught him everything he knows.

[beeping]

It's the teen TroubAlert.

[man on radio] Attention, Wonder Twins

we've just got a report there's trouble at Rocky Point Cave.

Two teenagers overturned their skip in shark-infested waters.

We'll get right on it.

As soon as we get into

our traveling get-ups.

[both] Wonder Twin powers, activate.

Shape of an eagle!

Form of water!

[chattering]

Meanwhile, as Mike and El

desperately cling to their overturned skip...

Where's the shark? I can't see him!

I think he's gonna attack!

[dramatic music]

[chattering]

You're right, Gleek. There they are.

[Zan] And the shark's about to get them.

Our only chance is to get to the rocks at the bottom and hide.

- But how will I breathe? - We'll share my mouthpiece.

Come on!

[intense music]

We better think of something, and fast.

Zan the quick-change artist comin' up.

[Zan] Form of an ice boat.

Shape of an octopus!

Prepare to dive!

[chattering]

[Jayna] Divers, get ahead.

[intense music]

Sorry to break up your lunch plans, big fella.

Quick, hop aboard.

[whirring]

Thanks, Wonder Twins. You saved our lives!

Yeah, no more bragging for me.

From now on I'll stick to diving where I know it's safe.

This part looks good for diving.

[Mike] It is. How about joinin' me?

The Super Friends have their hands full

when the evil Barko's time machine threatens

to enslave the world in the "Planet of the Neanderthals."

Do we have to do this for today's secret de-coder clue?

Yes, Robin, and it's also a good workout.

- What's that? - Looks like...

The opening to a cave.

Goes way back into the mountain. Let's take a look.

Before we go any farther, let's get the clue

to the secret code word.

That's easy, we're in the first clue right now.

Right, the name of this place is the first part of the code word.

And we'll be right back with the second part.

[instrumental music]

Another sunny day welcomes the busy city of Metropolis

one of the world's most modern cities.

But unknown to the citizens of Metropolis

a mysterious force has changed evolution

so that today's cities are primitive.

[dramatic music]

[people clamoring]

[male 1] Get to work! Keep moving!

What is this incredible transformation

that is changing the Earth

into a prehistoric cave society?

And can the Super Friends do anything about it?

[Zan] It sure was super of Batman and Robin

to offer their services to the space agency.

Repairing a torn seam in the Skylab

200 miles above the Earth.

Now, that's what I call spacey.

Nice going, Batman, you've repaired it in record time.

With three astronaut scientists on board

time was of the essence.

- What's happening? - Jupiters!

The Hall of Justice is changing into stone!

[chattering]

Zan to Batman, urgent. The whole of...

Something cut their transmission, Batman.

Right, Robin, and that can mean only one thing. Trouble.

Let's go.

[Batman] Chart a course to Hall of Justice.

[Robin] Roger.

A short time later, as the Bat-rocket

safely lands outside the Hall of Justice...

You're too late, Batman, some strange force

has turned the Hall of Justice into primitive stone!

We've got to contact the other Super Friends.

No need, Batman.

[whooshing]

[droning]

This mysterious prehistoric transformation

has occurred all over the world.

Armies of prehistoric Neanderthal cavemen

now rule everywhere.

And modern man has been enslaved.

You there, get to work on the quarries.

- All of you. - What on Exor is that?

- It's one of the Neanderthals. - Get to the quarries!

- Forget it, caveman. - We're slaves to no one.

You dare disobey the orders of your leader Barko?

[horn blaring]

Time for some super action.

My three-dimensional Batman image-projector

should handle these fellows.

[groaning]

That was fancy net work, Batman.

Simple as A, B, C, Robin.

[Batman] The Neanderthals are headed this way.

- Going up? - A-a-ah!

How about this?

With expert use of her mentally-controlled lasso

Wonder Woman easily subdues yet another Neanderthal man.

Careful now, you might trip someone.

[screaming]

I'll take care of you two later.

[clamoring]

Later, in the primitive cave that used to be

the super-sophisticated Hall of Justice...

Someone has turned the clock back on Earth a million years.

Whoever Barko is, he must be the one responsible

for this incredible change.

We'll split up and search for him.

Up, up and away!

The Super Friends quickly streak into action

to try to put the Earth back the way it was...

Splash

...if they can.

[dramatic music]

There are reports of strange beings.

They have great powers and cause trouble.

Ah, the Super Friends. They must not stop me.

Alert the sentries.

[horses trotting]

There's no trace of Barko anywhere.

Unknown to Batman and the others

a Neanderthal sentry has spotted them

and signals to others.

[Robin] Holy turnpikes, that rope bridge

used to be a modern freeway overpass.

And now it's a one-lane super horse way.

Spacey, Zan. Real spacey.

[chattering]

Now!

We've been netted!

Quick, let's Exor change and get of here.

I can't reach you.

[chattering]

Caught by surprise, Batman and the others are taken away

by Neanderthal warriors.

[chattering]

Later, at Barko's fortress...

[indistinct chatter]

Silence, you four have been accused of crimes

against civilization.

We've committed no crimes.

You deny you're out to stop me?

Yes, we were out to stop the enslavement of the world.

Enslavement? You mean liberation.

Modern man has had his chance and made a mess of the world.

I have judged and found the world guilty.

Now there is order, and I alone have changed it.

Alone? Impossible!

You're right, Batman. I was not alone.

[Barko] I tricked the top scientists of the world into building me

an enormous time tunnel and an electronic device

that would physically alter the evolution of man.

Once completed, I took the huge device back in time

where it sent out beams of energy

changing the evolutionary process of man

allowing primitive man to control modern man.

And so, by virtue of my own design

I am ruler of the world.

[indistinct chatter]

I think Barko is wacko.

You'll never get away with this, Barko.

The Super Friends will stop you.

If the Super Friends dare to go

near my time tunnel

which is hidden beneath this fortress

it will automatically self-destruct.

And as for you, Batman and Robin

you are about to take a short trip straight down.

Swoosh

[clanks]

And what of these two, Barko?

Put them in the quarries with the rest of the slaves.

Meanwhile, the search for Barko goes on

as Superman, Aquaman and Wonder Woman

scour the country.

Wonder Woman to Super Friends.

No sign of Barko anywhere.

And no word from Batman, Robin or the Wonder Twins.

Later, at Barko's fortress

the twins are led away to the quarries.

- Come on, stretch, Jayna. - I can't make it.

[Jayna] We'll never get out of here.

[chattering]

Gleek, you've gotta help us escape.

[grunting]

Great idea, Gleek.

[Zan] The hitch pin.

[grunting]

[Jayna] Only, you couldn't have picked a worse time.

[Zan] Yi-i-ikes!

[rumbling]

We're headed straight for the cliff!

[whimpering]

Ready to give our next de-coder clue, Batman?

Okay.

Hold on, someone's coming.

Batman, Robin.

- What are you doing here? - Exploring.

We've been sort of setting the stage for our de-coder clues.

- The Super Friends puzzle? - Right.

The first clue was the name of the place we're in now.

And the second clue?

The second clue is the opposite of woman.

Mind if I guess?

Let's check the answer a little later.

Maybe we'll run into one of our clues. Come on.

[dramatic music]

[thuds]

[both] Wonder Twin powers, activate.

Form of an elephant!

What an Exor goof! I'm too big to jump!

Your wonder brother will show you how it's done.

Shape of a giant wave!

Look out below!

Jayna, where are you?

Ah! Thanks for saving me, you wonderful wonder brother.

[both] Wonder Twin powers, deactivate!

Yuck! Next time can we change back without the kiss?

No time for brotherly compliments.

We've got to find the Super Friends.

[instrumental music]

Meanwhile, underneath Barko's rocky fortress...

...in the dungeon...

We've got to find a way to alert the other Super Friends.

Robin, look, there's our chance, all we have to do

is depress the Bat-signaler on my Bat-belt.

[Robin] Good thinking, Batman.

I'll just shoot this pebble and activate the signal.

[blows]

Clink

[Batman] Nice shot, Robin. You hit it!

Moments later, as Wonder Woman continues her search...

Wonder Woman to Super Friends.

I've picked up Batman's signal alert.

Coordinates 22'17.

I've spotted the twins. We'll regroup in five minutes.

Later, after the Wonder Twins have told the others

of Barko's evil doings...

Our only course of action is to build another time machine

return in time and change the past back to the way it was.

We can't possibly build another time machine.

All scientific knowledge and technology are gone.

Not all, Aquaman. We still have the scientists at Skylab.

With tremendous speed

Superman flies through space to the Skylab.

I need your assistance to build a time machine

to try to return Earth to normal.

It would take years to design one, Superman.

There is a faster way, I'll use my x-ray vision

to scan Barko's time tunnel.

With this telemetry helmet

your x-ray vision will be transmitted

into our computers which will analyze the data.

And we'll have a perfect blueprint

for another time machine.

Later, near Barko's fortress

the Super Friends finalize their plan.

Aquaman and I will rescue Batman and Robin

while you locate the time machine, Superman.

[dramatic music]

Good. Everything is under control.

[music continues]

Now to find the time machine with my x-ray vision.

- I found it. - You there, what are you doing?

Barko's orders to cultivate here, master.

Well, be quick about it.

Superman to Skylab. Start the computers.

[instrumental music]

As the plans of Barko's time tunnel

are transmitted to the Skylab computer...

...Aquaman and Wonder Woman make their way

through an underground canal into Barko's dungeon.

[snoring]

[creaks]

I'll take care of the guard with my magic lasso.

You get Batman and Robin.

[snoring]

What the...

Hey!

Batman, look.

[keys jingling]

- Thanks, Aquaman. - Quickly.

Our only way out is through the canal.

Great Barko, the two masked ones are gone.

Fool! You've let Batman and Robin escape.

Double the guards around the time tunnel

and send out a search party.

We must locate the Super Friends.

Later, Superman returns to the primitive Hall of Justice

with the plans.

Using the available natural resources

the Super Friends quickly begin construction

on their time machine...

...unaware that they have been discovered

by a patrolling Neanderthal.

So they're building their own time tunnel, are they?

Alert the troops, I'll put a stop to their time machine

and the Super Friends.

[horse neighing]

To the Hall of Justice!

Meanwhile, at the primitive Hall of Justice

the Super Friends have completed their time machine.

We've got to locate Barko's evolution-altering device.

The three of us will go back in time one million years.

If we can bring the device to the present

it should reverse the process and return the world to normal.

We will stay behind and operate the time machine.

You must return to the exact point

where you arrive in one hour

so we can bring you back to the present.

Switch on.

[beeping]

[whirring]

[squawking]

[growling]

Arriving in prehistoric times

in a matter of seconds...

There's no time to lose, we've got to find the device.

Splash

Batman, Barko's approaching.

And he's got an army of Neanderthals!

Holy time travels, how do we stop Barko

from getting their time machine before the hour's up?

Our only chance is to block the cave entrance.

- While you do that... - We'll keep Barko away.

[instrumental music]

[both] Wonder Twin powers, activate!

Form of a brontosaurus!

Shape of a giant water-hand!

[growling]

[Jayna] What's the matter?

You cavemen afraid

of a little old dinosaur?

[growling]

[clamoring]

[Zan] You fellows must be tired.

[clamoring]

A few more kicks and these boulders

will cave in over the entrance.

[rumbling]

Zan, Jayna, this way.

[both] Wonder Twin powers, deactivate!

[rumbling]

You've only stopped me for the moment, Super Friends.

Quick, clear the avalanche!

Boom boom

Millions of years back in the prehistoric past

Wonder Woman searches

for Barko's evolution-changing device

braving the terrible dangers that loom everywhere.

Boom boom

As the volcano erupts around her

Wonder Woman lassoes a pterodactyl...

[squawking]

...which carries her to safety.

With his marine telepathy, Aquaman searches the seas

aided by hundreds of prehistoric sea creatures.

[growling]

The king of the seas evades treacherous dinosaurs

continuing his search for Barko's electronic device...

...as does Superman who scans hundreds of square miles

with his x-ray vision.

Meanwhile, at the Hall of Justice...

- Barko's men are almost in! - And only ten minutes left.

[growling]

[Superman] It's Barko's device, alright.

But how do we get past those fierce Tyrannosaurus rexes?

If those dinosaurs are startled

they could knock the device off the edge of the plateau.

This calls for team work. I'll take care of the dinosaurs.

You and Aquaman get the device.

Pardon me, gentlemen, but it's time to take a little trip.

The device, it's falling.

My lasso will get it.

Nice work, Wonder Woman.

Now, to get back to the time machine pick-up point.

We've only got a few minutes.

Meanwhile, Barko's men break into the Hall of Justice.

Get the time machine!

Holy burrowing invaders!

Barko's men are coming this way.

My Bat-spider web ejector should stop them.

[clamoring]

[ticking]

Only one minute to go.

[clamoring]

We've won! Destroy the time machine.

[ticking]

- Not so fast, Barko. - Activate time tunnel.

[whirring]

[Zan] They've made it!

[Jayna] The Super Friends are back

with Barko's device!

No! I will not be defeated.

[thuds]

[Gleek laughing]

[instrumental music]

It's working!

[Wonder Woman] The Neanderthal men are vanishing.

With the return of the Super Friends

and Barko's evolution-changing device

modern technology returns

and the world is transformed back to normal.

Later, in the Hall of Justice...

[door shuts]

But why are you saving Barko's evil device, Superman?

No device is evil, Jayna, only the people who operate it.

Perhaps one day Barko's device could be used to serve mankind

rather than enslave it.

What about Barko?

Hopefully, he'll return to society one day.

Having learned that no man has the right

to be judge and jury for the world.

The world isn't perfect, but it's the only one we have.

[Gleek chattering]

I think Gleek has found a better world.

[chattering]

[Jayna laughing]

It looks like Gleek's world isn't perfect either.

[all laughing]

[chattering]

Thanks for letting me come along on the de-coder trip.

We enjoyed it. Now ready to go, Robin?

- Right, Batman. - Uh, before you go--

- Oh, the secret code word. - Yes!

- May I guess now? - Go ahead.

The first clue was the place we met. Cave.

And the second clue was the opposite of woman. Man!

So the code word is, what else, caveman, right?

Right, cavewoman, you got it.

[siren blaring]

The explosives are ready!

All clear! Here she goes!

[rumbling]

A cave-in!

[rumbling]

We are trapped!

[water sloshing]

[male 1] This shaft's flooding!

They'll never be able to rescue us!

Halfway across the world at the Hall of Justice...

Super Friends, the cave-in at our diamond mines

has trapped eight miners at the bottom of a deep shaft.

It's filling up with water and we've no way

to get them out in time.

Green Lantern and I will take care of it.

We're on our way.

Moments later, Green Lantern and Aquaman

speed toward South Africa.

[droning]

The men are trapped 800 feet down.

With flooding water and the possibility of gas explosions

we'd better not make any mistakes.

Let's go.

We'll take this elevator as far down as we can.

[whirring]

Look, the entrance shaft is flooded.

We'll have to swim from here.

My power ring will keep a bubble of air around me underwater.

Using his keen aquatic senses, Aquaman leads the way

through the maze of flooded mine shafts.

This is it.

The air's getting thinner. We've got to move fast.

[rumbling]

Another cave-in!

[rumbling]

Now, the secret of the balancing glass.

Let me show you. A card is prepared beforehand.

The back of the card has half of another card taped to it.

Fold it out, it becomes a hidden stand.

When you shuffle the cards at the beginning, make sure

to leave your special card at the bottom of the deck

so you can pick it out.

As you set the card down

move the flap back with your thumb

and it will support the glass.

With a little practice, you can be a Super Friends magician.

[rumbling]

My power ring should stop this cave-in.

[zapping]

That'll hold it.

I hope they get here before it's too late.

What are our chances, Crawford?

I don't know, but just in case we're lucky

we've got to come out rich.

Right, the company will never miss

a few million dollars' worth of diamonds.

All we have to do is figure out where to hide 'em.

[thudding]

You in there, we'll have you free in a few minutes.

[cheering]

They'll get us out before we have time to hide the diamonds.

Maybe not.

This drilling machine should slow down the rescue.

[whirring]

- Look out! - Oh, no!

It's going to hit the support timber.

Crash

[water sloshing]

We'll be flooded any minute!

What have I done?

[whimpering]

That last cave-in made it impossible for us

to get through in time.

There might be a way.

A giant whale might be strong enough

to plough right through the cave-in.

Let's give it a try.

Later, off the coast of South Africa...

I'll summon a great whale with my aquatic telepathy.

Splash

One whale of a transport vehicle coming up.

[zapping]

[whirring]

Minutes later, Aquaman and Green Lantern

return to the diamond mine.

I'll guide the whale through the mine!

Splash

We're almost there.

Let's hope this whale can get through the rock in time.

[growls]

[thudding]

We're going to be rescued!

We are through!

My power ring will supply a life raft.

[zapping]

We're sorry we caused the cave-in, Super Friends.

We could've gotten everyone killed.

Fortunately, everyone's safe.

Next time you're in a fix, try acting like a diamond.

You'll come out shining under pressure.

[cheering]

[droning]

My x-ray vision tells me there's trouble down there in the woods.

Oh, I better get moving.

Gee, thanks, Superman.

I can usually run a lot faster than that.

Here's the reason you're not at your best this morning.

- You skipped breakfast. - Gee, how'd you know?

When you skip meals, you don't give your body fuel to run on.

I didn't know that. Hey.

From now on there won't be

any fuel shortage for my body.
