Your Highness.

What happened? Is the general back?

They are still in pursuit.

I knew this would happen. The general should`ve never trusted him.

Even so how could he escape with his wife and son here?

If only he had listen to me this would`ve never happened.

We lost him.

The general is quite upset.

-But they`re only a few men. -I`d like to see Li Kaigu dead.

-but that bastard can do us no harm now. -I didn`t like having him here anyway.

I say good riddance.

Let`s put this behind us.

What choice do we have? It`s water under the bridge.

But we must keep a close eye on Li Kaigu`s wife and son.

What do you mean? Geom is...

-Geom is still Li Kaigu`s son as far as I`m concerned. -Mimosa.

This was caused by petty negligence. We cannot make the same mistake twice.

Your Highness, General Dae Joyoung is here.

Li Kaigu must`ve talked to you. Where did he say he was going?

He mentioned nothing about his destination.

Answer my question.

He left without a word.

I will be leaving as well.

We`ve caused you enough inconvenieces.

You will stay.

-But... -Where will you go?

Back to Yingzhou to the Tang Chinese or south to Shilla?

I`m furious that Li Kaigu broke his word and betrayed my trust, but you are not to blame.

So don`t speak of leaving again.

What is the urgent matter that you`d come straight here upon your return?

What are you doing here, wife?

They can`t stay here forever.

What do you mean?

Li Kaigu left here with burning vengeance for you. ~Sukyoung:Dae Joyoung`s wife~

He will eventually mobilize an army and appear before us again.

And when he does Chulin and Geom will themselves in terrible dilemma as well.

It`s best that we let them go now instead of waiting for the inevitable.

Li Kaigu has no one to turn to for help.

Danger is where you least expect it.

What`s more you`re at the threshold of realizing the great vision.

Don`t you know what kind of country we`re trying to creat?

It`s a country that will embrace all races not just Goguryeoans.

If we reject them because we`re afraid of the harm that might bring, what kind of country would we have?

General...

They are our people that we to protect. So please don`t bring this up again.

Where did father go?

You have to know.

-He`s gone to Yingzhou. -Yingzhou?

I will be leaving as well. But I want you to stay. ~Chulin~

Mother!

-Stay here and help General Dae Joyoung. -How can you say this?

Do as I ask. This is my final request to you.

Don`t say things like that. ~Li Geom~

If you leave, I`m leaving with you.

Geom....

Do you know what father said to me before he left?

He told me to become another Li Kaigu and protect you.

That was his last request. And you want me to defy it?

But Geom,

General Li Kaigu isn`t the only father you have.

You don`t have to hide it.

I know you`ve been conflicted because of this.

Forget about the father that raised you now.

You must live life as Dae Joyoung`s son from now on for your own sake.

The sky cannot have two sons, and a country cannot have two kings.

There is only one man I can call my father.

I know how much you long to be close to General Dae Joyoung.

He may be my father in my heart, but you will never hear me call him father.

Geom....

If I accept him as my father....

...where would you go?

You want me to lose a mother to gain a father?

The person I feel most for is neither of my fathers. It`s you , mother.

My father is General Li Kaigu if only for you, mother.

I thought you weren`t coming today.

I am leaving Liaodong.

I thought over and over but I think it`s best that I take my mother and leave.

I won`t stop you if that`s what you really want, but you`ll have to take the Khitans that trust you and followed you here as well.

Are you willing?

Answer my question.

....I can`t take them with me.

So you intend to abandon your people and leave with your mother just because circumstances are little rough right now.

Look at me.

It took me thirty years to bring my people back together to Liaodong after my country was lost.

If you leave your people now, you have no idea how long it will take, to bring them back together.

I thought you`d give hope to the Khitans at the very least.

But if you`re a selfish man who only thinks about himself, I have no reason to keep you near either.

So do as you please. Go where you wish to go.

Do you know what Father said to me before he left?

He told me to become another Li Kaigu and protect you.

Please be safe...

You must stay alive so we can be together again...

~Downtown, Yingzhou~

General.

Did you find out?

They say he hasn`t set foot outside the municipal square since Muchuo left Yingzhou.

Rumor has it he died bleeding from all nine openings of the body.

Dead? Xue Rengui is dead?

-If Xue Rengui is dead our plan is dead. -No, he can`t be dead.

But something must be wrong with him if he hasn`t been seen for so long.

Considering his old age it`s entirely possible.

There should be Khitans among the guards at the municiple square.

Seek them out, and find out the truth about Xue Rengui.

-Yes, sir. -Let`s go.

No, Xue Rengui can`t be dead. He wouldn`t die like this...

Never.....

General, try this.

This is killing me... How can I live.

Never mind.

I know my body.

I`m sick from fighting that bastard Muchuo. ~Xue Rengui~

It`s drained every ounce of my energy.

That`s why you must drink this. ~Hongpei~

It`s a potion extracted from a hundred year old white snake.

oh yeah?

Never mind.

No snake is going to fix a malady of old age.

But you can`t be laid up like this forever.

Damn this....

I`ll live through this if heaven has more work for me to do.

And if I don`t, I`ll wither away like this...

It tears me apart to see you ill.

Does it? Well.

Hey, stop! What are you doing?

You just said you didn`t want it.

So you pour that rare medicine down your own throat?

I need to take care of myself so I can take care of you, sir.

You little runt!

Just look at you making me feel worse! Get out of here!

-Get out! -General! General!

That punk!

This stuff is priceless...

Punk.

Oh, I can`t die like this.

Muchuo and Dae Joyoung...

I have to kill them all and pacify the land before I die.

Oh, I feel awful...

-General, we`re back. -Xue Rengui?

The rumor was not entirely groundless.

He`s bed ridden with sever chills and they can`t find a cause.

The chills?

Then who knows when he will come outside?

Then I`m going to have to go in.

But if you get captured they will think you`re there to kill him.

If talking to Xue Rengui is the goal, getting captured might be the quickest way.

Li Wen has the right of command in Yingzhou right now. The general may be killed before get to see Xur Rengui. ~Shin Hong~

We`ll help.

We can trick them and get into the municipal square safely.

This place was once our Royal Palace.

We know it like the back of our hands, so it shouldn`t be hard.

We will infiltrate the square tonight so get ready. ~Li Kaigu~

Yes, general.

What was that noise?

An intruder! Get him!

Get him! Get him!

Over there!

-An intruder? -Yes, sir.

This guy is like a phantom appearing out of nowhere and vanishing into thin air.

What do you mean?

First he was spotted by the south gate, then by the west gate within moments.

Anyway, he slipped away.

You mean you lost him?

He fles the grounds and we`re on pursuit.

You`ve been fooled!

Fooled, sir?

It`s obvious there is more than one intruder.

Who would dare?

Who are you?

An assassin breaking into my bedroom... My life must still be worth sonething.

Remember me?

You`re...!

I`m I hallucinating because I`m near death?

Li Kaigu! You`re Li Kaigu!

This was the only way to get close enough to talk to you.

How dare you!

-I`m not here to kill you. -Silence!

I can`t beliece you walked in here on your own!

Oh yes! This is a miracle medicine that`s sure to cure all of my ills!

General!!

General, are you all right?

It`s Li Kaigu!

How dare you break in here and attempt to take the general`s life.

What are you waiting for? Arrest him!

-Yes, sir! -Wait, wait a minute.

If he`s here to kill me, he should have a weapon on him.

But he is unarmed.

Yes, his hands are empty.

He must be hiding a weapon.

-Search him! -Yes, sir!

He is clean, sir.

I told you I was here to talk.

Silence!

It`s been eating me up that we had to turn you over to Dae Joyoung.

Her Majesty will be delighted if we send her his head.

General, you must believe me. You must hear me out.

What are you waiting for?

-Take him away! -Yes, sir!

General!

I`m not here to hurt you.

-Please hear me out! -Let`s go!

-General! -Let`s go!

General! General!

That`s not good...

What do we do now?

-That was a reckless plan from the start. -We have to save General Li.

Please say something, sir.

I`m going in.

You`re going to break in tonight?

No.

I`m going to walk in broad daylight and request to talk.

With General Li Kaigu in their jail cell?

The general will be saved if I succeed, and we will all die if I fail.

Stop!

Look who`s here? It`s Li Kaigu`s men.

Release my master, and let me speak to Xue Rengui. ~Shin Hong~

You`re like moths flying into the fire. ~Li Wen~

Very well, if death is your wish your wish is granted.

-Kill them! -Wait!

Dae Joyoung is about to declare a new state.

What did you just say?

Dae Joyoung is about to resurrect Goguryou. And I have all the secret details.

What?

Dae Joyoung is resurrecting Goguryeo?

Li Kaigu, talk!

You claim Dae Joyoung is declaring a new state?

That`s right.

He may have Liaodong but creating a new state is not that easy.

Dae Joyoung has been preparing for this for a very long time.

That`s why he rallied the three hundred thousand displaced Goguryeoans scattered about Yingzhou.

-How long could a new state built in Liaodong last? -Khitan didn`t even last three years.

Dae Joyoung can`t do much better.

But if their hub is not set up in Liaodong but in the Mt.Dongmo region it`ll be a different story.

Mt.Dongmo?

You mean to tell me that the capital of Dae Joyoung`s new state is going to be in Mt.Dongmo?

He`s already done all of the groundwork.

Really....?

The Tang military is already overwhelmed dealing with the Turks.

If Dae Joyoung moves his people to Mt.Dongmo and declares a new state, he will be unstoppable.

No!

We can`t allow Dae Joyoung to build a new state!

That`s why I came to talk to you at the risk of my life.

Give me one final chance.

I will bring you back Dae Joyoung`s head before he goes to Mt.Dongmo.

One final chace?

-Are you asking me to give you an army? -Exacty.

Silence!

You`re treacherous rebel that waged a war against the great empire!

Killing you all wounldn`t be enough and you want an army?

General you must slay these bastards and alert Chang`an immediately.

I`m sure I don`t have to tell you, general.

There`s only one man who can contend with Dae Joyoung and that`s me, Li Kaigu.

Silence I said!

Give us your order, sir. We will execute them at once.

You will turn over the mastery of the north to Dae Joyoung?

General?

General, what is there to think so hard about?

General?

Bring me Li Kaigu.

-Are you going to give him what he wants? -Just bring him!

You say you want an army?

Her Majesty the Emperor is the only one who can grant that request. ~Xue Rengui~

And you are the only one who can persuade the Emperor. ~Li Kaigu~

Perhaps I can if I risk my life.

But you have repeatedly betrayed me.

How could I possibly trust you?

What do I have to do to earn your trust?

What I need to see your resolve your courage.... and more importantly your heart.

But unfortunately what I need to see cannot be seen by the eye.

I`ll have to cut off your head and send it to the Emperor after all.

Coming to see me was the biggest mistake of your life.

Men, prepare an execution!

I will show you what you need to see right here and now.

What the heck....!

Crazy bastard!

I have just given you General Xue Rengui, my eye.

My other eye will be cast on Dae Joyoung and Dae Joyoung only.

Take a good look.

Are these tears of wrath and vengeance enough to show you that I can be trusted?

You must be determined... You stabbed your own eye!

If this isn`t enough,

I will give you my other eye as well.

And if that`s not enough I will cut off my tongue. And if that`s not enough....

Stop!

-That`s enough! -general....!

Now give me your answer.

Will you give me one last chance?

Don`t go...Don`t go..Chulin!

Geom! Geom!

-I`m your father! -General!

Geom! I`m your father! -General!

Please! Please don`t leave me!

Geom...! Chulin...!

What treacherous pain you must have suffered to have hurt yourself this way!

Please forgive me, general... I`ve done nothing for you while you were enduring this agony.

General...! General...!

-You`re not the man you used to be, general, -Brrr, it`s cold in here....

You`ve decapitated countless enemies but here you are sick again after seeing a bloody eyeball.

It wasn`t Li Kaigu`s eyeball

It was his glare,

The glare that he had right before he stabbed his eyeball.

It wasn`t human,

It was the most intense bone chilling glare I have ever seen before on any animal.

Hongpei, I may have found my last duty...

Your last duty, sir?

Brr, I`m freezing!

When will you be able to see with your other eye?

The physician said his bandages are coming off in a few days.

Prepare to leave for Chang`an.

I may have to pull out my own eyeball to prersuade the Emperor.

I will never forget this, general.

I will live the rest of my life in your service, sir.

I don`t need anything else.

Dae Joyoung.... just get me Dae Joyoung`s head.

I might finally get what I`ve been struggling to achive.

I want you and Geom to leave Liaodong and come to Yingzhou as soon as you receive this letter.

Please do as I ask.

I want to share the last chace I`ve been given with you.

General.

Have you selected the men to send to Ansi Fort?

Yes, a group of trustworthy men are standing by for your orders,

Have them deliver this letter to Chulin.

They must bring Chulin and Geom back with them.

Yes, sir.

While they are there, have them check the situation in Ansi.

Of course, sir.

If this letter should fall into Dae Joyoung`s hands, our final opportunuty could go up in smoke.

What`s more, how can we trust Geom when he is Dae Joyoung`s son?

General, please forgive me.

It`s for the great duty....

~Downtown Ansi Fort~

The mass departure will take at least two monts from here to Mt.Dongmo.

A lot of things could go wrong on the way. We could have people dying of starcation if we`re not thoroughlly prepared.

We intend to collect the harvest and distribute in rations. ~Mimosa~

Rations?

Some are alreafy turning in their harvest voluntarily. ~Geumlan~

Excellent.

I think that takes care of all of the minor details for the trip.

The new capital city in Mt.Dongmo is almost ready to be occupied so now all we have to do is decide when we`re going to leave. ~Dae Jungsang:Dae Joyoung`s father~

General!

-General! -Where have you been?

-We have a pronlem outside the fort. -A problem?

I looked into some suspicious activities in the Khitan village, and they`ve been collecting grains ~Jang Sanhae~

in secrecy in a community storage hut.

What`s more they formed a private militia...

A private militia? They formed an army?

It`s a small force they organizes to protect their village, but they are armed and trained.

If they`re collecting food and training an army, there could be an uprising.

You must investigate this and take preventive measures before it is too late.

Hurry.

The people are desperately longing to see two highness.

It will put them in a difficult predicament if they step outside the city now.

-But we can`t ignor the people. -Your Highness?

We should go if only to comfort them.

What? Chulin and Geom left the city?

Yes, general. They went to the Khitan village.

-This is exactly what we feard. -Blasted bastards!

We gave them food and home when they had no where to go and this! ~Heuk Sudol~

Those ingrates have to be taught a lesson! ~Gaepilsamun~

Let the Khitans go.

We will be remving potential evil amd resolving their grievances. ~Sukyoung:Dae Joyoung`s wife~

We don`t know for certain if they are planning an uprising until we have proof.... ~Gulsabiwu~

They have been preparing weapons

What more proof do you need? ~Tungso~

This is a critical time for us.

If the Khitans harbor wild thoughts, I will punish them without mercy.

-Joyoung. -But I have faith.

Geom will never disapoint me.

This way.

Welcome.

We have been waiting for you since the day we arrived here.

I don`t know what to say... ~Li Geom:Chulin`s son~

What is this?

Please open it, Your Highness.

This is the Khitan flag!

-And this....! -It`s His Majesty`s robe.

The very robe that your grandfather wore.

How did you get my father`s robe?

I brought it with me when we fled from the royal palace.

Now you must wear this robe.

Rise like you grandfather the benevolent King and fight against Dae Joyoung.

Fight?

-Are you suggesting a revolt? -Khitan fell because of Dae Joyoung.

It`s the Tang Chinese and the Turks that brought down Khitan General Dae Joyoung accepted us when we had no where to go.

Khitan would`ve never fallen if Dae Joyoung didn`t hold General Li Kaigu back!

We will fight to the death against Dae Joyoung!

Command our army and lead us, general!

Lead us! Lead us, general!
