You look troubled.

There is not one decision that is easy to make.

You can`t blame Mimosa and the warriors for wanting Li Kaigu dead.

If I kill Li Kaigu, I will lose Geom as well.

Are you going to keep the truth from Geom?

You`re his father no matter what. What are you so afraid of?

I once traveled a thousand miles to Goryoe to find you many years ago.

Yes, that`s where I met you for the first time.

I entered that fort prepared to die with desperate wish to find my father.

Yes...

Goryeo Fort was surrounded by the enemy army.

The very same thing has happened to Geom at the Liao River Fort.

Geom jumped into a deadly situation to save Li Kaigu.

How could I possibly tell him the truth?

If this is so difficult for you,

keep Geom near not as your son but as your subordinate officer.

We have a country to build,

Having good men is critical in the foundation of a new state.

One good man can save thousand of lives.

That`s why we need Geom with us even more.

I want a good man as well as a grandson.

He is an exceptional boy.

I hope we don`t lose him.

I gave you a chance to preserve your honor. ~Mimosa~

I want to see Dae Joyoung.

My sould would wander the hades unable to rest if I died without seein Dae Joyoung. ~Li Kaigu~

Very well. I will let you see the general.

But if you betray my kindness, you will pay dearly with humiliation and disgrace.

I have nothing more to lose or to preserve.

You`re giving me a reason to stay alive.

-Open up the cell! -Yes, sir!

Bring them !

Where are you taking us?

I don`t know, so shut you trap! Let`s move!

Bastards! If you don`t know, who does?

Li Kaigu and his men are offenders of high crimes

that murdered innocent Goguryeoans and created chaos on the land.

Just punishment is death,

But I am here to give Li Kaigu a chance for redemtion.

Li Kaigu,

if you accept my offer, you will be spared along with your men.

But if you refuse, you will be executes right here right now.

We will soon declare a new state and start writing our own history.

Can you vow to the gods of heaven and earth to serve me?

Will you help me in my grand endeavors with your skills and talents?

Are you asking me to take orders from you?

That`s right.

No, general. Never! Don`t vow anything!

-We`d rather die than to serve those bastards! -Never, general!

-We will die with you! -General, preserve your honor to the end!

Father....

Remeber this day, Geom.

I gave them a final chance.

Hold nothing against me for the choices they make.

Father....!

I vow to the gods of heaven and earth....

I, Li Kaigu and the warriors of Khitan will serve you.

General....!

General!

General Dae Joyoung you have our loyalty.

You have our loyaty, general!

You have our loyalty!

All of our efforts to get rid of Li Kaigu has gone up in smoke.

We can`t push General Dae anymore now that they`ve vowed to serve him.

He`s really something.

He shut us up and brought Li Kaigu to his knees in an instant. ~tungso~ ~Gaepulsamun~

I don`t like this at all. ~Heuk Sudol~ ~Gulsabiwu~

How can we trust Li Kaigu`s vow of loyalty?

Let`s talk to the general again.

The thought of eating at the same table with those bastards doesn`t sit well with me.

Let`s see what pans out.

I`m sure we will have our chance again.

We had joind hands once before, and together we drove out the Tang forces

from Liaodong and Liaoxi.

Our new state will not just be a home for the Goguryeoans.

It will be a great empire that embraces people of all origin.

If you earnestly help.

I will share my grand ambition with you.

I`ve already sworn my loyalty.

Don`t let me regret my decision to embrace you and your men.

-I should go now. -Sure.

-Go get some rest. -Yes, general.

Sit down. Let us have a drink.

General, it`s not too late. Kill of Li Kaigu.

They have no one left in the world to turn to for help.

But Li Kaigu is different.

We`re on the verge of realizing an impossible dream.

We should not fear a man who has vowed loyalty to us.

You`re drinking too much.

I never dreamed you`d vowed loyalty.

I spend the night awake in pain worse than death. ~Li Kaigu~

When I realized I had lost everything, my strenght was renewed with spite.

Lost everything? You still have me and Geom. ~Chulin~

That`s what I thought. I thought I still had Geom.

Did you tell him?

General....?

Dae Joyoung knows that Geom is his son.

General....!

Don`t try to lie. Tell me the truth.

Were you the one who told Dae Joyoung?

I had no choice to save you and Geom.

But Geom and I will never leave you. You must trust us.

You did the right thing.

Thanks to you,

I`ve become a man who can endure the worse humiliation.

General....

To save me, you say?

You got everything you wanted, so you must be glad.

It`s not like that.

That`s all right.

Does Geom know?

Does he know that Dae Joyoung is his real father?

No. That`s not possible. How could he know?

That`s not possible.

Yes, you`re right.

If he knew, that would be too cruel.

Heaven would not punish me that way.

General,

Are you there, Taepyoung?

-Geom, what are you doing here? -I was just leaving,

-since I saw that your lights were out. -Did you need to talk to me?

Thank you.

You acquired my father`s vow of loyalty to save him in spite of your men`s protest. ~LiGeom:Chulin`s son~

I will never forget what you`ve done for us.

You really are perceptive.

But you`re only half right.

I protected Li Kaigu because I want you, Geom to stay here.

General....?

What I really want is your vow of loyalty.

Would you be at my side no matter what happens?

Would you be with me to the end?

You`ve granted me every wish I ever asked.

Now, it`s my turn to serve you.

I will trust those words without an ounce of doubt.

I will add one more thing.

Don`t thank me or talk of repaying me again.

General, We`re back.

-Is everything going well there? -Yes, sir.

Everything is on schedule.

-The walls shoud be starting to take shape by now. -That`s not all.

The size, the natural features, it lacks nothing as a capital of a new state. ~Jang Sanhae~

Watch your tongue.

This is top secret until all preparations are complete. ~Dae Jungsang:Dae Joyoung`s father~

Yes, sir.

We began working as we entered Liaodong, so it won`t be long.

What about the Mohe tribes?

They`re steadily building an army.

This is an important task that Joyoung assigned us.

Mu Yeom and Bang Gae, assist Jang Sanhae and make sure everything goes smoothly.

Yes, general.

It won`t be long now. Soon the day will come,

the day that all of us have been dreaming of.

I`m going to need your help from now on, sir Shin.

I`m an old man now. I don`t know if I can be of any help.

Wasn`t it you who sent Geom to us to save Li Kaigu? ~Mimosa~

Age hasn`t made you any less astute.

And you, my man, are very perceptive. ~Shin Hong~

Let me ask you a question while we`re on the subject. If you build a new state, where do you intend to place its capital?

South of the Yalu is under Tang control. And now Tang has captured Yingzhou.

Ansi Fort is not a suitabke location for a capital.

How about Mt.Dongmo?

Oh, perhaps you`ve already stated to build a city there.

After all, you seized Liaodong to remove the Tang army threatening Mt.Dongmo.

You`ve done a lot of thinking in such a short time.

But do not say a word about the founding of the state.

What do you mean by that?

It is not for you to be concerned about. Specifics regarding the state are not to come out of your head.

-You`re still bitter toward me. -I am not bitter.

I just don`t trust you or General Li Kaigu yet.

-Look, I was merely offering you my advice. -Don`t offer advice until I ask for advice.

Understand?

Very well. I will be careful from now on.

This is unlike you.

You never hurt yourself practacing before.

Dae Joyoung may be moving his base to Mt.Dongmo.

What does that mean?

If we follow him to Mt.Dongmo, we will have to live out the rest of our lives serving him.

But it`s impossible for us, to rebuild Khitan right now on our own.

Would you go with me no matter where I decide to go?

IS there a place we can go?

There is no place for us to go if we leave here.

Xue Rengui is in Yingzhou.

Perhaps I can get another chance there.

That`s absolutely absurd!

Turn to the enemy that destroy Khitan?

Khitan fell because of Dae Joyoung.

It`s the Tang Chinese that burn down our city and killed our brothers by manipulating Muchuo. You know that better than I do.

Wife....

And Dae Joyoung is the man who save you from being executed in the hands of Xue Rengui.

All right. Let`s stop this.

Don`t ever mention this again. Xue Rengui would never let you live.

I said all right.

What does Princess Chulin think?

-I should never have mentioned it to her. -The warriors won`t feel any differently.

What is your opinion, Sir Shin?

We would be jumping into a fire with a bale of hay.

Yes, We have to be prepared for death.

But we have no other option.

I agree.

Find out more about Yingzhou. We will leave as soon as we`re ready.

Yes, general.

Khan,

-a messenger has arrived from Liaobei. -A messenger?

Is there something wrong?

What is this?

It`s the head of your son-in-law Prince Li Fu. ~Bilge~

What?

Who dare kill my son-in-law and send me his head? ~Muchuo:Turkic Khan~

It`s your daughter, Khan.

My daughter killed her own husband and cut off his head?

Give us the details! ~Inel:Muchuo`s son~

She sent this letter as well.

This can`t be!

What does it say, Khan? ~Tonyukuk~

Wu Zetian! That wicked wench has deceived me!

Unbelievable! ~Kul Tigin~

Wu Zetian`s grandson Prince Li Fu was a phony?

She sent me a phony prince and made phony martial ties with us.

She manipulated us to conquer Yingzhou!

We can`t let them get away with this. This is war!

First I will kill of every last Tang Chinese in Yingzhou before we leave.

The partin banquet is to be held tonight.

It`ll be a perfect time to get rid of Xue Rengui and his men.

Wu Zetian.... she`s made a mockery of me!

That old witch will not get away with this!

Welcome, general.

This is a banquet. Why is it so quiet?

-Khan wants a quiet get-together with you. -Sure, that`s not a bad such a bad idea either.

-Ah, you men will wait here. -Yes, sir.

Muchuo Khan.

I will take good care of Yingzhou, so don`t worry about a thing and have a safe trip back.

I know things are tough but this is a banquet. Where`s the food?

Bring it.

Ah, there it is! ~Hongpei~

I knew you wouldn`t call us without preparing food.

Hmm, what is this? ~Xue Rengui~

Open it.

It must be something special to be served on such a fancy dish.

What in the world!

Is this a joke?

Take a good look at that head and tell me whom it belongs to.

Who is it?

I don`t recognize the face.

You don`t?

No, I don`t.

You don`t recognize the face of the Tang Prince that was sent to be my son-in-law?

General....

How dare you send a phony prince and manipulate me!

General....!

I am sending your head back to Wu Zetian.

Muchuo, I`m warning you.

Go back to your home quietly while you have our cordial farewell.

What?

My Tang soldiers are covering every inch of this city!

They`re watching you day and night with their eyes wide open!

Shut your mouth!

If you kill me,

you`ll have to deal with Li Wen.

If a battle breaks out in this tiny fort, bith sides will be wiped out!

Is that what you want?

Xue Rengui, you bastard!

I`m an old man whose days are numbered.

Let me bring Dae Joyoung while I am alive, then I will fight you, Muchuo, if I`m not already dead.

How about it?

Don`t you want to fight me one-on-one on a open field instead of in a small room like this?

Drink the rest of the wine and go back home quietly.

Very well.

But I promise you I will cut off your head and the head of your Emperor

and make a meal out of you!

We`re in the process of informing the public of our plan through the village leaders.

There may be objections or protest.

The people`s opinion must not be ignored.

That goes without saying.

I will take care of the punblic so don`t worry.

General! General!

General, our informants in Yingzhou sent a report.

What`s the report?

Muchuo and his army have left Yingzhou.

-You mean they have gone back to Liaobei? -Yes, sir.

Call the warrior together.

Yes, sir! Let`s go!

This calls for an urgen meeting.

Where are the Khitan warriors?

I intentionally left them out, sir.

They can`t be trusted just yet.

The Turkic army has retreated, so the Tang force in Yingzhou no longer poses a threat to us.

The time has come at last for us to erect a new state.

We`ve been preparing for this day for a long time through repeated meetings with the elders advisers.

As you already know, the capital of the new state will be located in Mt.Dongmo region.

Now that we`re kicking into high gear, each of you must pour your heart

and soul into this history making endevor. Understood?

Yes, general!

-General, did you hear the news? -Muchuo has returned to Liaobei.

Their new state is about to be declared. ~Shin Hong~

I`ll be leaving this place before daybreak tomorrow.

I called them in.

General, we heard you were going back to Yingzhou.

Tell us one thing.

-Can we survive if we come with you? -Can we cast our lot with you?

Don`t follow me.

-I can`t be responsible for your lives. -General...

You too, tactician. You don`t have to come with me.

Then why are you trying to leave?

If I stay, I would be alive, but my dream and aspirations would be dead.

But the moment I leave, my dream would come back alive again.

This fight isn`t over yet.

And I am not giving up if there is a fraction of a chance.

You`re not a bit startled.

I know your embrace anywhere.

It`s late. You should rest now.

General...?

I was born a Goguryeoan and led the fight to destroy Goguryeo.

I spent my whole life fighting for Khitan, but Khitan isn`t my home either.

My home is.....

right here in your arms.

General...

I will come back to you.

If I die my spirit will be back to hold you forever,

and if I survive we will feel each others arms again....

Keep faith in me, my wife...

You are acting funny tonight.

I`m going to check on Geom.

Go to bed without me.

Then....

I`ll learn a move or two from you, sir.

Make the first move.

You got me, general. Would you release me?

That was another good lesson.

It`s good to see you making improvements everyday.

Thank you, general.

I told you not to thank me.

Yes, sir.

I forgot for a moment.

Not bad.

Father!

I think General Dae is going to declare a new state soon.

-It`s for the Goguryeoans. -Khitans are among them as well.

I`m going to help General Dae Joyoung if only for them.

Geom, if you truly care about the Khitans, help me instead of Dae Joyoung.

What do you mean?

I`m leaving this place.

And I will erect a state of my own.

You mustn`t betray his trust.

The promise I made to the people is more importan to me than Dae Joyoung`s trust.

Father...

You must decide.

Will you come with me or will you stay?

There is nothing we can do right now if we leave. ~Li Geom:Chulin`s son~

We`d be betraying the Khitans who came here trusting us.

I do understand what you`re trying to do, but you must think more deeply about this.

I guess...

I guess I`ve lost you to DaeJoyoung as well.

Father...!

I am not your father.

Don`t do this.

You`re Dae Joyoung`s son. But you already know that.

I`m...I`m your son.

I will live as your son until the day I die.

Geom, you will always be my son in my heart no matter where I go.

Take care of you mother for me.

Be another Li Kaigu

and protect Chulin.

Father....

You can`t go!

Don`t go.

Father...

Don`t go, father.

Please...!

General, this way.

These men wish to come with you.

We could all be executed the moment we reach Yingzhou.

We will dream of conquering the world with you, if only on our way there. ~Zhao Renshi~

Come out here, Joyoung!

-General! -Joyoung, come out!

Something must`ve happened outside.

Joyoung!

It`s late.What is it?

Li Kaigu and his men have betrayed us after all.

Geom? Where is Geom?

He`s at the guest quarters.

Fetch my armor and my horse.

I will chase them to the end of the earth and bring back Li Kaigu`s head!
