=Episode 32=

Your Highness,

I finally found you.

Don't do anything rash.

Ms. Qin, have you forgotten?

I am no longer the Crown Prince.

I am now

just a useless pawn

discarded by Mother.

Are you very disappointed in me?

I will never be disappointed in you.

I understand, Your Highness,

there must be a reason

for your actions.

Rest assured.

I have decided to go to war with Jun Beiyue.

I will fight to get back

whatever belongs to me.

So, what should we do next?

Deliver this letter

to the Leader of Snow Region.

Your Highness, are you going to cooperate with Snow Region?

Since you have chosen to stay by my side,

you must trust my decisions.

Yes.

Your Highness,

it seems

Ten has rarely entered your room lately.

She and Gu Xi are busy with managing the corps.

They don't have time.

But I have seen her

going to Madam Wan's room a lot.

I don't have time.

It's good that she can chat with Madam Wan.

Your Highness,

I feel that Ten has been unsettled

and suspicious.

She was young,

and hadn't received much education.

It's understandable

that she may be rebellious sometimes.

I will talk to her more.

As long as you know it.

- Madam Wan. - You're here.

You can keep playing the guqin.

I was taking a walk nearby.

While I was listening to the sound of the guqin,

I just walked in unknowingly.

I hope I didn't disturb you.

Not at all.

I was just playing casually.

Please have a seat.

Serve the tea.

This dagger...

It was from Beiyue.

I know

you left it for him.

Beiyue gave it to me.

Will you be upset?

What are you talking about?

We are family now.

It's the same whether it's with you or with him.

There is no difference.

You should keep it well.

Actually, I feel

I have a connection with this dagger.

What do you mean?

When I was little,

I saw this dagger with my mother.

Your mother?

Who...

She was Chancellor Han's second wife.

However,

she has passed away.

How

did she die?

I was still young at the time.

I'm not very sure.

I only remember the servants at the residence

saying that she encountered a bandit

and fell off a cliff

when she went to offer incense.

(Unexpectedly, she was that person's daughter.)

What's wrong?

Is your mother named Mu Ci?

Do you know her?

Yes.

The dagger

was given to me by your mother.

Now it can be considered to have returned to its rightful owner.

How did you meet?

When I left Meng Tribe back then,

I traveled around Longyuan.

During the journey, I met Master Lu

and went to Liuxian Island with him.

There, I met your mother being bullied

and I helped her drive away the ruffians.

From then on, we became friends.

She played the guqin very well.

She often invited me to listen to the music and enjoy the scenery.

However,

when we were on Liuxian Island,

Master Lu never mentioned this.

He was busy with his family affairs.

How could he have time to care about what I was doing.

So he may not know it at all.

Why did my mother

give you this dagger?

Later, I left Liuxian Island

and was separated from your mother.

Unexpectedly, a few years later,

we met again in Tianque City.

That day, we, a group of concubines,

went to Xiangguo Temple to offer incense and pray for blessings.

When I was leaving in the carriage,

I saw your mother.

Unfortunately, due to my status, I couldn't get off to greet her.

So I sent a maid to convey my message.

But she returned with this dagger.

Your mother asked me to take good care of it.

Although I didn't understand why,

I decided to fulfill her request

and kept it like a treasure for many years.

Even I left the palace later on,

it was still placed with Beiyue.

Have you seen my mother since then?

No, I haven't seen her again.

I didn't expect

that the day to be our last meeting.

The piece you just played was very beautiful.

It was also played by my mother when she was alive.

I also like it very much.

This melody sounds so familiar.

I think I have heard your mother played it before.

Really?

While playing, she seemed to have said

that she was looking for a place.

So I have some impression.

What place?

It's been so long that I can't remember clearly.

However, there is one name that is unique.

So I remember it.

It seems to be called

Wuxie Gorge.

Wuxie Gorge?

Are you going to Wuxie Gorge?

Yes.

Ziqing's mother mentioned this place.

So we need to make a trip there.

In that case,

I will go with you.

Mother,

we are still unclear about the situation over there.

We don't know if there is any danger.

It would be better for you to stay in the Mansion.

Don't worry.

I may not be young anymore,

but I have been traveling around for many years.

I can still help you.

Moreover,

Mu Ci and I were good friends.

I should do my best for her.

Since that's the case,

let's go together.

Thanks, Mother.

Don't mention it. We are a family.

If you are still worried,

why not bring Ten along?

She can take care of me,

so you all can rest assured.

Alright, as you wish.

Baili Weisheng,

do you want to get involved

into my family affair too?

It's about Ziqing.

How is it only your family affair?

I want to go with you.

Say that again.

He can't go.

Why?

No time to lose, so we'll depart tomorrow.

Why can't I go?

Did you hear that?

He said you can't go.

Why can't I go?

Why?

Really, Madam Wan?

Are you taking me with you this time?

Of course, it's true.

It's thanks to your consideration.

You mentioned that Fourth Princess

is searching for some music scores.

Otherwise, how would I have the chance

to help my old friend's daughter?

I never expected that Ziqing and I

would have such a deep connection.

Madam, rest assured.

I will take good care of you.

Actually, this time I bring you along

just to let you and Beiyue

have the chance to spend some time together.

You can also broaden your horizons

so that you can assist him well

in the future.

I'm willing to do everything

for you, Madam.

Rest assured.

Everything I do is for your good.

Madam Wan,

what can I help you?

Just act according to the situation to cooperate with me

when the time comes.

(Prince Yao's Mansion)

Your Highness.

Eunuch Yin.

Your Highness,

His Majesty urgently summons you to the palace.

You have seen it too.

I have urgent work to do

and need to leave Tianque.

You should return now

and help me report to Father

that after I return to Tianque,

I will go to meet him.

Your Highness, you can't.

His Majesty has summoned you to the palace.

There must be an important matter.

Your Highness, you cannot defy the imperial order.

Beiyue,

it's a private travel.

It's better not to arouse attention.

If you anger your father,

it will inevitably hinder our actions.

Interesting.

Yes.

You go first.

We will wait for you to set off.

It doesn't matter.

We can set off first.

You can catch up with us.

- Shadow. - Yes.

You will depart together with Fourth Princess.

Yes.

Be careful.

Hurry up and go.

Let's go.

Yes.

Let's go.

Mother, are you tired?

No, I'm not.

- It's late. - What are you standing here for?

- We can wait here for Beiyue. - Go to borrow some fire.

We're almost starving.

I've already sent Ten to fetch water.

Let's have some water first.

Take a break.

- Your Highness, please try this. - Xiaosheng,

what do you think of Ziqing's mother-in-law?

What do you mean?

She's just a kind-hearted person.

Not really.

You can't judge a person by their appearance alone.

Judged from her facial features,

she is not ordinary.

- This old lady is not simple. - Please eat some food first.

I wonder if it suits your taste.

No wonder.

- Delicious. - You're worried about Han Ziqing,

- so you come along, right? - You eat too.

It has nothing to do with this.

We're talking about her mother-in-law.

I advise you

to save your worries.

Fourth Prince

is quite capable.

You don't need to worry about it.

Stop messing with that firewood.

Aren't they eating over there? Ask them for some.

I collected the firewood.

And now you want me to ask for food?

How about you?

I am your junior brother,

not your...

That person doesn't look like a good person.

I don't want to provoke her.

- Go ahead. - Alright. I'll go borrow it.

But you can't eat.

Just keep acting cool here.

After we finish eating,

let's rest a bit more.

- Okay. - Ziqing,

what delicious food are you eating?

Are you hungry?

Pastries.

Why do you take them all?

We are two people here.

Give it to him.

- We still have more here. - He can eat a lot.

Well, then I won't start a fire.

Go ahead.

I brought it here. You can't eat it.

Can you eat so much?

It smells so good.

It's a bit deep.

This should be the place.

It's still early.

Why don't we go down quickly?

It's too reckless and dangerous.

Let's take a break and then set off again.

Alright.

Let's take a break.

We'll leave together when Beiyue arrives.

Ziqing,

how about I go down first

to take a look?

Madam Wan, you are so great.

Do you dare to go down this deep?

That's quite impressive.

I have been wandering around for many years.

Of course, I have some skills.

Ziqing,

Beiyue still hasn't arrived yet.

He must have been hindered

by His Majesty in the palace

and couldn't come over.

We can't just stay here.

Now that it's still early,

let's hurry down.

Alright then.

Let's set off as soon as possible.

Shadow,

you send someone to stay behind to assist His Highness.

Yes.

Then I'll go down first.

Mother,

it's too dangerous. Let me go first.

Then I'll go second.

Be careful.

Clear. Come down now.

Sir, His Highness hasn't arrived yet.

You just stay here

to wait for His Highness

and assist him.

- Yes. - Yes.

Senior Brother,

where is this place? It's so cold.

Is it cold?

Aren't you cold?

(It's just as recorded in the books in the Momentary Tower.)

(There is a Golden Merfolk Palace beneath the Wuxie Gorge.)

(This should be the front hall of the Golden Merfolk Palace.)

It seems like someone lives here.

Senior Brother, what's wrong with you?

This smell is very familiar.

But I can't remember.

The smell?

(As expected, the ancestor set up many Barriers here.)

(The front hall is filled with small defensive Barriers.)

(The larger Barriers)

(should all be in the rear hall.)

Who are you?

How dare you to trespass into Mitian Deep Sea.

Mitian Deep Sea?

Deep sea?

There's no water here.

Sorry.

We just accidentally wandered in.

Could you please

report to your master?

(How could there be someone in Golden Merfolk Palace?)

(According to the record,)

(Golden Merfolk have been extinct for 20 years.)

What's going on?

Who is it?

How dare you trespass into my territory?

Sorry about that.

We didn't mean to.

Who are you?

You are intruders.

How dare you question me?

Do you want to die?

Release the arrows.

With just you lot,

how dare you come here?

You should know your own strength.

Nobody moves.

We don't want to fight.

Please tell us

who

is in charge here.

Hurry up and say it.

It's my mother.

Where is your mother?

Mother.

Mother!

Save me, Mother!

Move aside.

Mother.

Who are you?

Why do you arrest my son?

(She should be the owner here.)

Release my son immediately!

Shadow.

Mother.

Don't misunderstand.

We are not here to cause trouble. We just want to...

Mother, stop wasting words with them.

They hit me.

You injured my son

in my territory.

Today,

none of you can leave alive!

So, you are actually...

Alright then.

Finally, you have come to us.

Then let's fight to the death.

Your Highness, be careful.

They are Silver Merfolk.

We are Silver Merfolk,

the owner of Mitian Deep Sea.

But you

came to the wrong place.

Kill them!

Retreat!

Attack their navels.

The Silver Merfolk's weak point is at their navels.

Attack their navels.

Ziqing, attack their navels!

Mother.

Mother.

Mother.

Mother!

How do you know the weakness of our Silver Merfolk?

I-I don't know how I know it either.

Who is this child?

He...

(As long as I hit her fainting point,)

(I can make the slightest effort)

(to lock her inside the Barrier.)

- Xiaosheng. - Xiaosheng.

Xiaosheng.

Fortunately, he held his breath.

It's not serious for now.

You're causing trouble in my territory.

I will show you my power.

You have gone too far!

You are my son.

Son,

I'm your mother. I'm here!

Mother,

he is from the Golden Merfolk Royal Family.

Sir,

you can't kill me.

We Silver Merfolk

are not just your kin

but also your servants.

Since we are of the same tribe,

why do you want to kill us?

Because...

Because

she is the enemy of the entire Golden Merfolk Tribe.

What are you talking about?

When did I ever become your enemy?

What do you mean?

The dagger in her hand

is made of red-gold scales.

The person who possesses such a dagger

is the enemy of the entire Golden Merfolk Tribe.

Son,

do not believe her.

Don't believe her.

She is a liar!

What did you say?

Do you have any evidence?

Yes, indeed.

What evidence do you have?

This dagger

is a relic from her mother.

What does it have to do with Golden Merfolk?

Red-gold scales

are the scales on the chest of Golden Merfolk.

They're indestructible.

No Golden Merfolk would willingly hand over such scales.

Unless

he is killed.

What about Golden Merfolk Tribe?

Where are they now?

And my parents?

Golden Merfolk Tribe

and your parents

all died at the hands of the Islanders

at that palace banquet in Nanzhao years ago.

Son,

do not believe her.

It's not like that.

I'm here.

Explain it clearly. I don't understand.

Back then,

the Puppet Islanders breached the Nanzhao palace.

To protect everyone,

the Golden Merfolk fought desperately.

Many of them died in the battle.

Your father, the King of Golden Merfolk,

discovered that the red-gold scales could kill the Puppet Islanders.

So, they pulled out the red-gold scales from their bodies resolutely

and gave them to the warriors to use as weapons

to resist the Islanders.

All the Golden Merfolk followed suit

and offered their red-gold scales.

However,

without the scales,

the Golden Merfolk cannot survive either.

In the end,

they all perished in battle.

And

she has a dagger made of red-gold scales in her hand.

So she must have some connections with that massacre years ago.

Mother.

Weisheng.

They used the red-gold scales from their chests

to forge a dagger with immense energy.

Does this dagger truly belongs to your mother?

So she also participated

in the battle, right?

She is also one of those Islanders

who raised her weapon

against Golden Merfolk Tribe, right?

She used the golden scales

from the chest of the Golden Merfolk Warriors

to forge this dagger, right?

Weisheng,

let's get it clear first.

Weisheng,

don't be agitated.

Though Ziqing's mother has this dagger,

it doesn't prove that she is an Islander.

Perhaps her mother used the scales to forge the dagger

to fight against the Islanders.

Han Ziqing is an Islander!

Her mother is one of them for sure!

What?

Ziqing,

are you an Islander?

So you knew the truth all along.

You pretended to be my friend, didn't you?

No, it's not.

Don't believe her.

Don't believe her, son!

She was lying!

There have been terrifying legends

about the Islanders.

I thought it was just a legend.

I didn't expect the Islanders

to be so cruel

that they have committed such a heinous crime.

Madam,

it has not been confirmed.

Do not speak recklessly.

That's not what I meant.

I'm just very shocked.

How can the Islanders

be so ferocious?

Both the witness and the evidence are here.

What else is there to explain?

Mr. Baili,

you shouldn't listen to just one side of the story.

Fourth Princess is...

My parents were killed by the Islanders.

I became an orphan right after I was born.

Do you know how it feels?

Calm down.

I want to avenge my parents.

Han Ziqing,

your mother's debt should be repaid by you.

Baili Weisheng!

If you are trying to hurt Her Highness,

don't blame me for being rude.

From now on, we are enemies.

Silver Merfolk Soldiers, listen to my command.

Yes.

As the Lord of Golden Merfolk, I command you

to capture them.

Yes, sir!

(If Baili Weisheng kills her,)

(all my previous efforts will be in vain.)

(It's better to use the Concealment Knot)

(to temporarily hide her in this deep sea)

(and come back for her later.)

Their target is me.

You take everyone to leave.

Your Highness, I'll stay. You all go first.

Don't worry. I'll be fine.

If you don't leave, you'll all die. Go!

Son, I'm here.

Son.

Ziqing!

Your Highness.

It's a Barrier!

Mother.

Mother, please open the Barrier.

No, I can't.

This Barrier can only be opened after two hours.

My strength is already exhausted.

Where is this place?

Why does this place look so familiar?

Have we been here before?

Who dares to trespass on Liuxian Island?

Greetings, Fourth Prince.

Alright, you may rise.

Inform my master that I have arrived.

Yes.

Quickly report to the Master.

Beiyue,

we can't stay here for long.

Let's return to Tianque first.

Mother,

you are injured.

I'll settle you here first

to take good care of your injuries.

I still need to find a way to rescue Ziqing.

Let's go.

Keep up.

Beiyue,

I don't know you are coming over.

Why don't you tell me in advance?

Master,

the incident happened suddenly.

I have a favor to ask.

Mother,

you and my master are old acquaintances.

So there's no need for me to introduce you.

Master Lu,

we meet again.

Wanyue.

Are you Wanyue?

That's great.

You're still alive.

You're alive!

Wanyue,

all these years,

I have always remembered my promise to you.

I have completely passed on

the Lu's internal arts to Beiyue,

and also cured his illness.

I finally have fulfilled

my promise to you.

Wanyue,

I didn't expect

that in this lifetime,

I can see you again.

Master Lu,

I'm extremely grateful

for your kindness to Beiyue.

Now that we meet again,

allow me to give you a grand salute

- as a token of my gratitude. - No, no.

Don't do this.

Beiyue, quickly, stop your mother.

Master.

Master, they're esteemed guests.

Moreover, they are injured.

Why don't we go inside to talk?

Alright.

Is this Mrs. Lu?

I'm Wanyue. Greetings, Mrs. Lu.

Over the years,

my husband has always been thinking about you.

Compared to you,

I am insignificant.

I dare not accept your courtesy.

Please come inside.

Alright, please come inside.

Beiyue, quickly help your mother.

(Lu Manor)

Beiyue, help your mother sit down.

Beiyue,

what is going on?

We are all injured.

Especially this child. He is the most seriously hurt

and has been unconscious all along.

Master,

please find someone to check on him.

Alright, alright.

Honey,

go invite Doctor Hua

and arrange this child to the inner room.

Alright.

Guard Shadow, please follow me.

Ten,

you should follow them too.

Help them.

Yes, Madam Wan.

Come on, this way.

Hurry up.

Here.

Slow down.

Lamei,

you will take care of this child

- for the next few days. - Yes, Madam.

Mrs. Lu, I can handle it.

Since you are a guest, let her do it.

It's alright, Mrs. Lu.

Let me do it.

Alright.

Lamei,

go fetch a basin of hot water.

Let me check if Doctor Hua has arrived.

Yes.

It's a Merfolk Poison.

I have already removed it with medication.

But remember,

do not get it wet before it heals.

Doctor,

when will my leg recover?

It will take

at least ten days to heal.

Master, I'll go check on that child.

Alright, go ahead.

Since that's the case,

Beiyue,

when your leg injury hasn't healed,

don't take any more risks.

As for rescuing Ziqing,

I think we should make other plans.

Beiyue, it's all my fault.

If it weren't for protecting me,

your leg won't get hurt

and Ziqing won't be captured.

Ziqing might have...

Mother,

you should focus on recovering first.

I will find a way to save Ziqing.

Master,

is there any way to make my leg heal quickly?

Don't worry. I will immediately send someone

to go to Qinse Valley to ask

if there are any good medicines.

As long as they are effective,

I will get it back for you.

(No way.)

(I can't let them rescue Han Ziqing.)

(She must stay in Wuxie Gorge.)

Someone!

- Mother. - Quickly help Madam

- I'm fine. I'm just too tired. - go rest in the guest room.

- Yes. - I'll be fine after some sleep.

Doctor Hua,

how is the child doing?

Master,

the child is also affected by Merfolk Poison.

He's severely weakened

and needs some medicines to stabilize the vital energy.

When will he wake up?

This is

hard to say.

Honey,

according to the prescription given by Doctor Hua,

go get the medicines immediately.

Alright.

Doctor Hua, please follow me.

Yes.

Wanyue,

didn't I tell you to go back to your room and rest?

Why do you come over?

I am worried about this child.

I'm here to check on him.

Madam Wan,

I didn't expect that his senior brother

even tried to kill us,

but we still have to save him.

What nonsense are you talking about?

Xiaosheng is just a child.

What does it have to do with him?

Stop saying such words.

Yes, Madam Wan.

My mistakes.

Wanyue,

I have already arranged for dinner.

Let's have dinner together.

Ten,

take good care of this child.

Yes.

Madam Wan.

Madam Wan.

Xiaosheng is a girl.

Really?

Doctor Hua found it when he was applying the medicine for her.

Xiaosheng is a girl.

No wonder I felt something was off about her.

Ten,

if this child wakes up,

I'm afraid it might be troublesome.

She seemed to have seen something

in Mitian Deep Sea.

What do you mean, Madam?

You know what I mean.

Right?
